Magpiekit woke, her green eyes instantly shutting because of the sudden bright light. She yawned, unable to be still any longer. "She's awake! Aww look at those beautiful eyes!" purred a voice and Magpiekit looked up now that her eyes had adjusted. It was a grey she-cat with blue eyes and an orange she-cat standing next to her. Just then she noticed another kit next to her, a red kit who was curled up in a ball. She looked back up to the cats in confusion."Who are you?" She squeaked.
"I am your mother, Mistfeather," the cat gently said.
"and I am Wilowsun." the orange cat said. Willowsun turned to Mistfeather who was still looking at Magpiekit and mumbled something in her ear before turning away and trotting out of the den. Suddenly the red kit next to her started to move and Mistfeather's gaze suddenly snapped to the kit. Magpiekit followed her eyes and saw that the kit had opened his eyes. "Magpiekit come and meet your brother!" Mistfeather purred. When Magpie kit moved to face her brother his amber eyes met hers, Magpiekit couldn't help but say "I'm Magpiekit, What's your name?" The kit looked confused so Mistfeather quickly put in "His name is Alderkit"
"Alderkit" said the kit quietly.
"Yes, Alderkit" Mistfeather purred
The next morning Magpiekit saw many cats come in and congratulate Mistfeather. Toms she-cats, big and small. Then some cats taught Magpie kit and Alderkit a game called moss ball. The cats introduced themselves as Silverpaw and Volepaw. Silverpaw visited often with this cat called Beetlewisker but not to see Magpiekit or Alderkit. They came to check up on Willowsun.
One moon passed and eventually Willowsun gave birth to two kits. Primrosekit and Cloudkit. Cloudkit was a ball of energy but Primrosekit normally kept to herself. Some mornings Magpiekit, Alderkit and Cloudkit convinced her to play with them. One morning the clan leader, Talonstar came into the nursery but not to see the kits. He came in to talk with Willowsun and Mistfeather. Magpiekit couldn't hear what they were talking about but she could sense it was something important. When Mistfeather came into the den Magpiekit pretended she was asleep so Mistfeather went back out to get some fresh kill.
Not much happened in the next three moons, Magpiekit knew almost everyone's names now and she had even heard of some cats from SunClan.
"All cats old enough to hunt in the trees gather below tree stump for a clan meeting!" Talonstar yowled although most of the cats were already there. "Today we have two apprentices ready for their warrior ceremonies. Barkpaw and Volepaw please step forward. Barkpaw and Volepaw do you promise to uphold the warrior code and defend it at the cost of your life?"
"I do" said the two apprentices
"Then by the powers of Starclan I give you your warrior names, Barkpaw from this moment on you will be known as Barklight, StarClan honours your confidence and skill in battle and we accept you as a full warrior in return." Talonstar jumped off the stump to rest his muzzle on the young warrior's head and in return Barklight licked Talonstr's shoulder in return. Magpiekit couldn't help but feel excited knowing this will one day be her. "Volepaw from this moment on you will be known as Volepelt StarClan honours you courage and loyalty and we accept you as a full warrior in return" again Talonstar rested his muzzle on Volepelt's head and Volepelt licked mlhis shoulder in return. "Remember tonight you will sit vigil"
As the meeting ended all the cats in went up to congratulate the new warriors. Magpiekit, Alderkit, CloudKit and Primrosekit watched from the nursery entrance. Magpiekit wondered what her warrior name would be but she knew she still had to be an apprentice first.
That evening Magpiekit heard that Sleekfur would be moving into the nursery soon. More kits! As the days went on, Magpiekit noticed the that cats were resting more and eating more. The mentors took their apprentices out more and as soon as the apprentices came back they would have some more prey. Magpiekit tried to ask Mistfeather about it but she would always just say to her that it was "just a new thing Talonstar wanted to try" but soon Magpiekit found the truth when almost every cat including Talonstar, Hawkflight, Beetlewisker and Silverpaw were out of camp to on a massive patrol. And when they came back they were all bleeding and tired. "Every cat old enough to hunt in the trees join me below tree stump for a clan meeting!" Talonstar called. Magpiekit trotted out of the nursery right as Talonstar started speaking. "Cats of HailClan!" He started. "Our attack on SunClan was very successful as none of us died. I managed to take one of Soaringstar's lives to teach him to never disrespect us!" All the warriors started cheering and chanting "HailClan!" Magpiekit was confused as to why they were cheering when Talonstar technically killed a cat. That night was the full moon and Talonstar took a large group of cats out to the gathering. Magpiekit overheard some of the elders saying that it would be a good gathering considering the fight that happened between the two clans.
Finally I got this chapter out of me. I wanted to make this a really long chapter but I ended up deleting most of this chapter so it is really short. Thanks for the reviews and it wont be long until the next chapter is out.
