Everyone welcome to the new update of this story. We have been able to see a point of view from a member of the soon-to-be-married couple. It's time for a second part involving our favorite hyperactive guppy.

Without wasting any more time, we can start.

Chapter 3: Building Our New Path (Part 2)

Gil´s Part

The concept of marriage is quite deep and intriguing. We are talking about a union of two people who swear love, respect and loyalty for the rest of their lives. Or at least, that's the theory. Well, in practice, this does not usually happen. And many times it happens because of bad decisions. To begin with, deciding which person you want to commit to for life is already an important decision. However, there are many things that can alter the vision of what a marriage entails. Interestingly, we will see the groom dealing with that particular situation.

It was a quiet day in the beautiful town of BubbleTucky. A peaceful residence without many problems. Well, in this place, public security was quite effective. Of course it is effective if the great officer Gil Gordon is attentive to everything that happens in his beloved neighborhood. The blue-haired guppy, now a young adult, is now a police officer working alongside his mentor and partner, Officer Miranda. Both were patrolling in their police car with the purpose of conducting surveillance in case someone is breaking the law. We can see Officer Miranda in the driver's seat while Gil was in the passenger seat.

"Everything seems to be in order in this sector" Officer Miranda said with a smile.

"Yup. Today we have only delivered 3 speeding cases. It's honestly the only infraction we've dealt with most of the time" Gil commented with a tired tone of voice.

"And don't forget when we busted a couple of hustlers. Luckily, we have not had very big problems" Miranda added quietly.

"Yeah….It's kind of boring not having much action. I know that we always have to be ready for something dangerous but... there is a lot of tranquility in all this time" Gil commented.

"(giggle) You're sounding like Anderson. Looking for strong emotions. I appreciate the calm. It means we do our job well" The lobster woman replied.

"Of course! We are the best police duo in all of BubbleTucky" Gil said with a big smile.

"Arf Arf!" Someone we know was barking in the back seats of the car.

"Hehehe sorry, buddy! We are the best police trio in all of BubbleTucky" The young officer corrected his own sentence. We can see that Gil wasn't the only one who received police training. It turns out that Bubble Doggy also became a police dog. A dog specialized in the search and tracking of weapons, illegal substances and even people. He had become a bigger dog, stronger, a little hairier. He had a collar with a police dog tag around his neck.

"Arf Arf!"

"How about we go buy coffee and donuts before heading back to the station?" Miranda proposed.

"Of course! I know that sounds like some police cliché but...I really can't say "No" to good coffee and good donuts. I really love this part of the job" Gil said funnily. That made his mentor laugh a little.

"Alright! As you wish, young apprentice" Miranda answered with a funny tone of voice.

Those moments were fun for the police couple. They passed by a coffee shop where they used to frequent a lot. Sometimes the owner of the place would give Miranda and Gil some donuts as gifts. After eating quietly while keeping an eye on them, they decided to return to the central station where many colleagues were working. They have to go every so often to prepare reports. Miranda, Gil, and Bubble Doggy entered the BubbleTucky Central Police Department. They went through reception for protocol reasons. They were greeted by a slightly obese green fish in a police uniform.

"Arf Arf!"

"Oh hello there! What are you coming for?" He greeted them.

"Hi, Larry! Glad to see you again. We came to make our last report of the day. We are close to leaving today" Miranda answered him.

"Wow how lucky you are. I have 3 hours left to leave. what a nuisance…" He said with a rather lazy tone. He is a guy who always looks like a carefree person (almost like a hippie), but his biggest flaw was laziness. He could tell he didn't like the job. Or rather, he doesn't like to work at all! He used the computer to allow Gil and Miranda access "All right, you can come in"

"Thanks, Larry" The lobster woman said happily despite her coworker´s attitude.

"Thanks, dude! Hey, are you working hard or hardly working?" Gil asked funnily.

"Hahaha! You already know, dude!" Larry laughed a bit. He and Gil loved to tease each other a bit. Well, our guppy knew that his colleague was looking for an excuse to last longer than he should in his tasks. It is amazing how he still keeps his job. Gil believed that the last hours of his working day would be like all the others, but that day there were unexpected visitors.

"GIL! GIL! OVER HERE!"

"Huh?" The young agent managed to hear that someone was calling him. When he turned his gaze, he recognized a group of three characters were calling out to him.

"GIL!" The three of them greeted him very happily.

"Alex! Tood!..." He managed to recognize them. They were his classmates and friends from the Police Academy. They hadn't changed much, just Todd who now grew a mustache. They greeted him with a handshake and a hug. While that was happening, Gil was surprised to see the third person "...Darcy?!"

"Surprised to see me, pretty boy?" Darcy asked with a serious tone of voice. But she smiled at him a few seconds later. They both gave each other a strong handshake. Darcy developed more muscle mass. I mean, she was stronger.

"Guys! What are you doing here? I thought you guys were working in other departments in other cities" Gil asked surprised.

"I came here for a conference with colleagues from the CyberCrime Department tomorrow. But I came today to avoid traffic congestion" Todd the snail answered, touching his glasses.

"I'm here to carry out a special operation order. My SWAT team wants some extra reinforcements so we can carry out a raid on CoralReefy. There is a gang that we want to disarm" Darcy said with a smug smile. She was proud of her position as a SWAT member.

"I just came to say hi to my best friend, Gil Gordon! But...IS IT TRUE WHAT I SAW ON THE NEWS? ARE YOU REALLY GOING TO MARRY?!" Alex the brown crab asked very happily. Let's remember that he is a big fan of our guppies.

"Really?" Todd and Darcy were surprised.

"Hehehe…It´s true….I am going to marry the love of my life very soon" Gil admitted.

"It's so wonderful! And who is the lucky one? I will guess! Starts with M and ends in olly" Alex asked very dramatically.

"I think it's a bit obvious, man" The lobster girl said, rolling her eyes funnyly.

"Really...that's very touching. Seriously, congratulations, Gil!" Todd commented with a small smile.

"Thanks, frien…auch" The blue haired boy was interrupted by a soft thud on his shoulder. It was Darcy who gave him that friendly jab.

"Well done, hunk. You won the lottery with her" She congratulated him in her own way.

"Hehe yeah, guys. You know, we were friends for a long time. It would be an honor for me if you are my guests for my wedding" Gil decided to invite them.

"Is it serious?" Todd asked nervously.

"No way! I will be able to meet the Bubble Guppies in person! AHHHHH!" Alex said it, very excited like a true fan.

"Wow. I'm speechless" Not even Darcy could believe it.

"Of course. You are also great friends of mine. And what do you say?" Gil asked with a smile.

"What kind of question is that? OF COURSE I WILL GO! MY FRIEND WILL BE MARRIED!" Alex expressed his happiness for his friend and hero.

"I am truly honored by your invitation. Count on me, friend" Todd replied.

"Hmmmm…..I think I'll be very busy...But...I'll make the effort to be at your wedding" Darcy accepted...or so we think.

"Great! Glad I saw you, guys. But I have to go before..." Gil wanted to say goodbye.

"Come on, Gil! The boss wants to see us now" Miranda called him.

"...Oh…Well, see you soon! We'll be in touch" The blue-haired guppy said goodbye to his colleagues before accompanying his mentor to finish the last tasks of his day.

Gil, Miranda, and Bubble Doggy arrived at the department head's office.

"Yo! But look who came late. Hahaha just kidding. Come on, come on" It was Officer Anderson himself, Miranda's former mentor. He was the same man of action as ever, though his iconic biker beard was turning white with age. But he is still that man of strong and courageous character. He is now known as Chief Anderson, who earned the position some time after his exploits at the Battle of BubbleTucky.

"Hi, Chief!" Miranda answered.

"Hello, Anderson!" Gil greeted him with confidence. Only the two of them spoke to Anderson in a not-so-formal way because of the trust that existed between them. Obviously, the formality is maintained when there are witnesses during working hours.

"And how were your surveillance rounds, officers?" He asked curiously.

"We only had to take care of issuing a ticket to three people who were speeding. Nothing serious" Miranda answered.

"Right. Nothing really interesting happened today. Everything in order and everything in peace" Gil said, crossing his arms.

"Arf Arf Arf!" Bubble Doggy barked.

"I see. Things have calmed down since the fall of the Cadaverini. At least in Big BubbleCity, in BubbleTucky it's always been peaceful...Changing the subject...Hehehe...I've heard the news, young Gordon. When are you going to get married?" Anderson asked with a mischievous smile.

"Hmmm We don't have a date yet, but it will be soon. There are many things to plan" Gil answered.

"Well ...Congratulations, mate! You are lucky to have Molly as your future wife. You two have always been for each other" Miranda replied happily.

"Thanks, Miranda!" Gil said with a smile "I really feel very happy to marry the girl of my dreams. I bet my days with her will be the best of my life" He commented very happy for his future with Molly.

"Dude….Hmmmm….I don't want to disappoint you but things in marriage are not as beautiful and cute as you imagine" Anderson decided to stop him.

"What are you talking about? Isn't being with the person you love for the rest of your life nice?" Gil asked him.

"Well...Marriage is a trap. At first sight, it looks wonderful, beautiful and romantic...but then the discussions appear, problems, taxes, problems with money blah blah blah and the romance and love die. Well that happened to me…..The voice of the experience of a divorced man tells you" Anderson commented on his point of view on what a marriage entails. Those details weren't very nice. There was a silent and awkward moment for all three officers present. Gil began to have worrying thoughts. Such as fear, insecurity and even doubt.

"Are you…(gulp)...sure?" Gil asked nervously.

"Of course! People delude themselves, hoping that married life will be like a romantic movie... And they don't expect that it will actually end like a horror movie" Anderson said with a somewhat pessimistic tone.

"Bah. Don't listen to Anderson. Look, I am still married to my husband and we have had a healthy and beautiful relationship. Obviously, there will always be good times and bad times. But if you choose the right person, you can face life together" Miranda decided to calm her pupil. That was a slight relief for our blue-haired boy, but the feeling generated didn't go away entirely. Miranda noticed his discomfort, so she decided to end that topic "Huh…Gil, Do you want to go finish the paperwork? Just a little bit left and you can go"

"Y…Yeah….We´ll leave soon. See you later" Gil decided to leave them. Bubble Doggy followed him in silence. Miranda and Anderson were left alone in the boss's office.

"(sigh) Why did you say that?" Miranda scolded her old friend.

"I didn't mean to but...someone had to say it. Besides, it's to our advantage that Gil is more concerned with his wedding than with work" Anderson commented "You haven't told Gil anything about "that case", have you?"

"I haven't told him yet. Because you ordered me to. Don't you think we should tell him about our recent investigations?" Miranda asked him worriedly.

"We are going to tell him... but not now. Gil deserves to be calm and happy before his wedding. Let him enjoy his married life for a few months and then we'll tell him. We will have time to advance our investigations on ... the remnants of the House of Cadaverini" He said it with a low tone of voice.

"I think this time I agree with you. Let's try to keep this topic a secret. I don't want to assume that there are spies within the police" Officer Miranda commented. And they both didn't say anything after that important talk.

Finally, Gil finished his workday. He changed his clothes to a more casual one. He took off Bubble Doggy's police tag and put on his regular dog tag. They both decided to go home in Gil's car. The dog was happily sticking his head out the passenger window while his owner was concentrating with her hands on the wheel. Although he was looking straight ahead, his mind was occupied with the thoughts generated by his conversation with his boss about what marriage entails.

A quiet night came. Gil and Bubble Doggy got home as early as possible so they could spend a quiet night with a very special someone. And by that we are referring to a quiet dinner with his mom. They both really enjoyed quality family time.

"I love your pasta, mom. Simply the best. Thank you for preparing this delicious dinner" Gil thanked his mother.

"With pleasure, Gil. The pasta was made with a lot of love" Mrs. Gordon commented with a soft giggle. At that moment, Gil thought about talking to his mother about a very important topic.

"Mom...can I ask you something very personal?" The young Gordon asked.

"Of course. Tell me, dear" His mom answered.

"Well….Hmmm…May I know...why did you and dad get divorced?" Gil decided to ask the biggest question he had since he was a kid. The lady remained silent for a few seconds to think of a wise answer.

"Why do you ask that?" She was a bit nervous.

"Mom ... .Honestly, neither you nor dad took the time to explain to me about your decision to divorce" Gil crossed his arms. But he didn't look angry.

"You're right Gil. You have a right to know and I'm sorry I never explained it properly. (sigh) Your father and I got married, blindly believing that we would make a great team. But things started to go wrong between us. Our love and our passion died down when we got married. The responsibilities of the house, of work and of course... when you were born more responsibilities came. We started arguing and fighting amongst ourselves. I can tell you for sure that we were both at fault. To avoid more problems between us and prevent you from seeing our fights...we thought that the best decision for us would be a divorce. Interestingly, when we parted ways, your father and I sorted out our issues. And now we are good friends. But things can't go back to the way they were before and we agreed to keep in touch to raise you together one way or another" Mrs. Gordon explained her story.

"But...if you mended things...why didn't you live together again?" Gil asked confused.

"(sigh) Gil, sometimes there are people who just aren't compatible with each other. There are people who just aren't meant to be together. Therefore, it is important who we choose to be our partner for life" His mom answered quietly.

"I see…" Gil thought about this new information.

"Gil, I know you asked me this for a reason. And I know that curiosity is not the only reason. Why do you ask?" Mrs. Gordon asked. He just looked away to avoid eye contact.

"N…Nevermind. I just...well...Mom, I have to get up early tomorrow for work and it's already late...I...I'll see you tomorrow. I love you" The young man decided to get up and went to his room with his dog.

"But Gil…come here…Gil!" His mother called him. But he didn´t obey her. He locked himself in his room and without saying anything, he sat on the edge of his bed to drown in his thoughts. The only witness present of him was Bubble Doggy. He understood that his master was not well, so he decided to curl up in his owner's lap to calm him down a bit.

"Arf Arf!" He barked sadly.

"Calm down, my friend. Thanks for being with me. But...I need to think this alone...Rest up, friend" Gil said to his faithful ally.

"Arf Arf" He just licked his owner's cheek and lay down on his dog bed. Gil was able to smile when he saw his beloved furry friend resting. A smile that wouldn't last long. He heaved a sigh and looked at the ground.

"(sigh) Anderson has a point...My parent's marriage ended like that...I...I don't want my marriage with Molly ends like that too ... .Am I good enough for Molly?" He asked himself this hard questions. Just then, he received a late night call.

RING! RIIIINNNNGGGG!

He just picked up his cell phone and answered the call quickly.

"Hello?...Hmmmm…Oh! Molly!...So glad to hear from you...How was your day?...Wow, that sounds great...My day? Well the normal. The same routine Hehehe...Why are you calling at this time, love?...Huh...Hmmmm...Okay...Ahemm...Oh! A Royalty Themed Wedding! That's an excellent idea, love! I always imagined that you were my princess hehehe...I know, I know you're blushing...Hehehe me too...I love that idea...We can plan it together soon... ..Just let me take care of a few work and budget things and get to work...Hehehe thanks...I have to hang up the call...See ya..Good evening, Molly.. ...I love you too...bye" That was all the call Gil got from his dear fiancée. That call managed to calm him down a bit. We can say that it was a small respite from the emotional and mental storm that Gil is going to face very soon "Hmmm marrying Molly sounds...like the best thing that could happen to me...I hope so"

Things don't seem like they're going to be all right. I can't blame Gil for being afraid. Marriage is a very serious and important decision. This arc of the marriage of this couple could be complicated little by little.

I hope you liked this chapter. Leave your reviews about this chapter. I am open to your comments, ideas and suggestions. For the moment, I have to answer the reviews of the previous chapter.

JayBird06: Hi there! I'm really glad that you liked the idea of a chapter about the daily life of the characters (idea that we can see later) The references to the episodes of the original show were great to connect both universes. Without a doubt, Molly and Gil's marriage is going to have an impact on the other characters, both good and bad. Be aware of what is coming

PrimroseRaspberry: Hi, my friend….Wow it´s a big long…I like it. Here I go. Obviously, Molly and Gil's decision has caused a lot of sensations in those closest to them. Both positive and negative reactions. Let's hope Mia doesn't cause a problem. Regarding weddings, I can confirm that each couple has a special wedding. Each will have a unique theme. We confirm that Molly and Goil's wedding will be royal-themed. And I understand your concern. I think I read the same fanfic that you mention and really I also got that feeling of disappointment. I promise to do my best to make each wedding unique and special. At the end of the day, they are one of the most important events of Adult Years. Be attentive to everything that can happen.

Zakirmatron: Hello there! I´m happy to see you here again! I'm glad you liked the use of references from the original show. I felt nostalgic when I wrote it. And you're right, when you spend a lot of time with a person you appreciate a lot, you imitate many of that person's customs. And that precisely happened to Oona hehehe

This would be the part where I close the chapter. But there is something I must tell. I'm not normally a person who shares personal situations to the public, but this is an exception. A few days ago, I suffered a serious accident that caused me to fracture a bone in my leg. It is so serious that I require surgery. Luckily, I have been at home with medical care, but tomorrow is the big day that they are going to operate on me. I honestly feel scared about what is going to happen. Although possibly when you read this, I already have surgery. It is for what you notice if I am absent for a while.

And this is where I say goodbye. I'm ReaderandWriter9000 and see you in a next episode. Do not miss it!

Post-Chapter

We will focus on a not very nice place. We return to the prison away from BubbleTucky. We can see a strange place where the prisoners could carry out recreational activities. And curiously, Jane is there doing a very peculiar activity. She was playing a piano solo. And I think it will be a very weird/funny scene for us. Just...let's listen

"Jane: This one is for my one and only true love

Gil Gordon

Gil, you're so cool

And with my House, we're gonna rule

Gil, understand

I'm gonna love you 'til the very end

Gilly, Gilly, Gilly, Gilly, Gilly

Gilly, Gilly, Gilly, Gilly, Gilly

I love you, oh

Gilly, Gilly, Gilly, Gilly, Gilly

Gilly, Gilly, Gilly, Gilly, Gilly

I love you, oh

Molly, Urchin, and a Bubble Doggy too

A thousand troops of agents couldn't keep me from you

Gil Gordon, at the end of the line

I'll make you mine, oh

Gilly, Gilly, Gilly, Gilly, Gilly

Gilly, Gilly, Gilly, Gilly, Gilly

I love you, oh

Gilly, Gilly, Gilly, Gilly!"

"Jane! At last I found you... Oh!" It was James who wanted to call his partner, but he noticed that she was singing. Situation that made him uncomfortable when Jane finished and looked at him. He had a confused face and a face like he was saying "what the hell" non-verbally.

"Euh….James?" Jane asked confusedly.

"Ahem…Well…I just wanted to tell you that... I finally managed to get a cell phone thanks to smuggling. It took me a lot but I did it. I don't know why I agreed to help you. I hope to be well rewarded for all this" James gave her a cellphone. An old model one.

"Perfect. You'll see that you'll do well if you do what I say. Very good. I want you to cover me. I'm going to make a call. Oh and don't tell anyone I played the piano!" Jane said before she searched for a place that she could be alone. Without any prisoner or any officer.

"Hey! And where or when did you learn to play the piano? Did your father teach you? Oh...you left me talking to myself...again…" James sighed. She hid from everyone's sight to make a secret call. She knew the right number.

"Greetings! It's a pleasure talking to you...Yes...I'm Jane Cadaverini. I heard you did some jobs for my father. Listen, dad always said that I could count on you if I needed a "service." And that's why I'm calling you...Uh-huh...Yeah...I see...Hmmm yeah...You know, I want to get rid of someone. Is it okay if we meet in person?... Look, I'm in jail... but I know we can arrange a private date. Just move the pieces that you have to move and we can see each other without problem...Hmmmm...Hmmmm...Yes yes yes, whatever...But I want it to be as soon as possible... .Perfect. See you" That was Jane's call. Hanging up the call, she could only smile evilly "Soon, Molly….Soon"
