Mei giggled, as Shadow was pushing her on a baby swing in the park, as he and Maria were hanging out in the park while the baseball game was going on only Shadow was thinking about things as Gerald had been trying to bond with him which felt weird to him despite Maria encouraging him to do this plus they'd brought a picnic that Maria had made lovingly with Shadow's hekp, when he hadn't been playing withbMei and tending to her. "Everything good here, as you've been calm." Shadow heard Sonic say.
"Yeah we're good here pkus Mei-Mei was getting bored at the baseball game, Sonic so we brought her here and we've been playing and Mei is starting to get tired, meaning she'll nap soon. She has a calming effext on Shadow. He's been thinking about the Gerald thing too." Maria told Sonic.
It was Saturday meaning the weekend meaning no school for Maria, Sonic and Tails and there was a baseball game so they were at the park along with Maria and Shadow bringing Mei only being an infant, she'd gotten bored of the baseball game so Maria had spitted the playground decidingvthey should take Mei there so she could get her wiggles out, which Sonic and Tails thought a good idea noticing there was not a lot of the food Shadow liked eating which Maria got seeing him staring at the picnic.
"We're trying to set a good example for Amie regarding food. We don't want her to be a picky eater." she told him.
"That's good, as Mei is very impressionable and we want her, to be healthy." Maria replied to them seeing Mei relaxing as all the playtime had worn her out, so Shadow was feeding her grapes which she loved making Sonic think of Knuckles hoping the echidna male didn't see. "Knuckles isn't the only one that likes grapes blue blur." Shadow pointed out to Sonic feeling his bat-pager buzz making Maria sense he was needed in Gotham only he looked at her and Mei.
"It's fine, go handle whatever danger is happening in Gotham. We'll be okay here until you get back." Maria told him kissing his cheek.
"Chaos-Control." Shadow said vanishing making Sonic alomg with Tails wonder where Shadow had went making the orange-furred female hedgehog sighing because they wouldn't get what Shadow was doing in Gotham sitting under a shady tree with Mei sleeping seeing them leaving her be.
"I'm okay Maria, minor cuts and injuries are part of being a hero, Maria. I'm glad you and Mei are okay as I was thinking about you two while doing you know." Shadow told Maria. It was later that early evening and Shadow had returned from Gotham tired with minor injuries which Maria was tending to, despite his protests but she insisted on helping him after putting Mei to bed which Shadow appreciated hoping Sonic wouldn't get curious knowing about him being Blue Justice from Tom making him frown at that thought drinking coffee.
"Yes but we care about you, Shadow and don't want to see you hurt or in danger, even if you're the ultimate life-form." Maria told him hugging him making him smirk knowing she had a point yawning as his adventures in Gotham had worn him out zoning out into sleep which made a Maria sighing as she knew he was tired turning off the TV and going upstairs to their room tucking him into his side of their bed.
