A Mafia Bond
Chapter Five: Evil Within
Bella Cullen
Jasper had a bathtub in his apartment; the last time I had a bath was last month when I helped my aunt move into her new apartment downtown. I hated showers; I always had them, but it's all we had, so I got over it. Tonight, however, was different; tonight I wanted to relax. The bathroom wasn't huge, but at least you could move around without hitting your elbow on a wall or a shampoo bottle. I must have spent an hour in that tub while Jasper was at work, and I didn't care; I kept the room tranquil, and I enjoyed every minute. It wasn't often that I got this type of quiet; I'd been living in a house with four guys; quiet wasn't something a girl got very often.
Everything was going better than I could have imagined; I didn't have to ask Jasper not to tell our family where I was; his phone was broken; I even saw it; I had been run over the previous day and was sitting on an old pizza box next to his trash can. I didn't want to check my phone; I didn't look at the screen as I switched it off, but all too soon they would begin to realize I wasn't there. I didn't think about that, not at first; I waited until I was alone to freak out and take in the magnitude of what I'd been doing for the last two days.
Some of it was my own doing, but what happened this morning in the kitchen with Edward was most definitely his own fault. He'd wrapped his hand around my throat; it wasn't okay that he had done that. I never thought he had any intentions of hurting me; I never feared I was going to die; my ears never rang, and I never felt naive. But it had hurt; it had hurt my feelings to hear him speak to me that way and then to leave me standing there, shocked and speechless. I felt like a child being scolded for stealing a cookie; I felt humiliated that he had brought my virginity up; and I felt stupid for not being able to form a single word.
But the feeling of his hand around my throat—that I couldn't shake, and for good reason. It was intense, the way he had held me to his will, but not just that; what he had said to me as he did it, the way his hand had roamed my body, finding the places I was the most sensitive that weren't obvious. He might have been just trying to mess with my head, but he was right; he knew a woman's body; he had the know-how to know what would turn a woman on and make her melt in his hands, and he used it against me. I knew better than to allow him to do that to me. I knew better than to let him do anything to me. Yet I didn't fight him the way I could have easily managed with enough gumption. I was a coward when it came to Edward, always had been. I'd never seen him the way he was today; I didn't know what had gotten into him or where all of that anger was coming from. And I couldn't help but wonder if it was me.
After I left my bath, I hung out in Jasper's apartment for a while. I made myself a sandwich, had a bag of chips, and finished the last of his orange juice. With still hours before Jasper was due back, I decided to head into the city. I wanted to get something to wear tonight for the club. Manhattan is expensive, but not if you know where to go and how to stretch a dollar like me. I wanted to wear something that would make me feel confident and make me look enough to get past the bouncers, which meant heels were essential too. So with a few bucks in my pocket and my scarf wrapped tightly around my neck, I set off down the street in search of some inspiration. I didn't know much about what I wanted to wear; I just knew I wanted it to make me feel confident, like I could be a whole new person, like I could take on anything tonight.
From a vintage shop, I found a perfect satin red dress. It was one size too small for me and was a little tight around my bust when I tried it on, but when I took off my bra, the fit was perfect. I had always liked satin; it looked sexy but also classy, and it was a color that screamed confidence. Just a few stores down in my fifth vintage shop of the day, I found a pair of tanned strappy Gladiator point-toe heels. I couldn't believe I actually had money left to spare considering both items looked almost brand new. I spent the rest of the afternoon looking at make-up; luckily for me, there was a kind make-up technician who showed me how to apply eyeliner and shadow. By the time I left the store, she'd put all the make-up I needed on me already, but I bought a few items regardless, even some perfume and a pair of earrings.
I couldn't believe my luck; I had my make-up done professionally and had a stunning dress to wear. When I got back to Jasper's apartment, he and his roommate were back from work and tucking into their dinner of cold pizza and beer. I was too excited to eat; I was full of adrenaline. Tonight was going to be special; I just knew it.
"Wow," Jasper said, looking up from his dinner. "Look at you."
"You're not mad?" I asked as I stepped inside his apartment.
Jasper laughed, "Why would I be mad?"
It was just instinct back home for fear to be my reaction when I attempted anything new in my life.
"You look amazing, Bella," Jasper said, standing up.
I smiled, "Really?"
Jasper nodded. "You really do."
"Thank you," I said, smiling up at him.
"So, what's this about?" Jasper asked, "I mean, I've never seen you like this before."
I shrugged, "I want to have an amazing night."
"So no pressure on me?" Jasper laughed.
While the two of them went to the rooms to catch some sleep before we headed out for the night, I put on a beautiful black matte nail polish as carefully as I could manage; I wasn't going to be caught out anywhere tonight. I had to act and appear older, or my night was a non-starter. I touched up my make-up in the bathroom before I got dressed later that evening; my hair looked amazing, and with a few sprays of perfume, it smelt even better. Jasper and his roommate were ready before I was sporting simple shirts and jeans with polished shoes. Since I was in heels, Jasper hailed us a cab so I wouldn't have to walk the seven blocks to the club. It was only nine o'clock, but the streets were busy and the city was alive. There were lights everywhere, music spilling out onto the streets, people walking by smoking and chatting to friends. The air smelt of the food carts, and the streets were filled with the sound of laughter and music. It was amazing to see and witness. I felt like a whole different person here, like I could do anything, like I had no limits. When we finally got to the club, it wasn't what I expected; the line outside was huge, and the bouncer looked scary. Jasper was sure they wouldn't turn me away since I was with him and his roommate.
The three of us stood in line talking and laughing; it was the first time in a long time that I didn't feel nervous or on edge. I'd missed being able to hang out with Jasper; I missed feeling like this. The bouncer didn't turn me away; Jasper kept his arm draped over my shoulder as we made our way closer to the front; a simple nod from the bouncer was all it took; no ID was necessary; we were in. The place was packed with people dancing, laughing, and drinking. It was exactly what I needed: loud music and a bar. Jasper and his roommate bought us some drinks while I found a table close to the dance floor.
Jasper had always been a good dancer; he was funny too; he knew how to get a group together and get them dancing. He would normally be off with a girl within an hour like my brothers, but tonight it was different; it was the waitress that had Jasper distracted from the moment we sat down. She was cute, with pixie-cut hair and a no-nonsense attitude. She made me smile. I had never seen Jasper like this before; it was sweet to watch him try to win her attention.
"So, are you having fun?" Jasper asked me as he and the waitress placed our drinks on the table.
I nodded. "Yes, I really am."
Jasper smiled at the waitress, "My sister Bella."
The waitress nodded, "Hi."
"She wants to know your name," Jasper told her.
The waitress smiled, "Maybe if her brother orders another round of drinks first."
Jasper laughed and nodded. "Sure, another round coming up."
Jasper left us alone, and the waitress leaned forward. "He's a sweetheart."
I smiled and nodded, "Yeah, he is."
The waitress extended her hand. "I'm Alice."
"Bella."
It wasn't until a few hours later, when she finally got off shift, that Alice agreed to dance with my brother. I was invited but gave them time to themselves and remained at our table. Jasper's roommate had disappeared somewhere; I hadn't seen him since we first arrived. Alice pulled me onto the dance floor for a few dances of us just together, which were fun considering her confidence was infectious. When they weren't dancing, Jasper and Alice talked most of the night; she was nice, and Jasper looked happy. I never even got carded at the bar. I got Jasper a beer, a light beer for Alice, and for me I got an orange juice with a pinch of vodka in it. I held two of the bottles by the neck and sipped my orange juice as I returned to our table.
I was smiling ear to ear; the entire club was dark, lit up only by pink and blue neon lights on the ceiling. It was busy but not suffocating so. I loved it. I loved watching people enjoying themselves. The music was loud but not obnoxiously so; it was loud enough that I felt like I could dance for hours and never hear myself think about my problems. Everything was perfect until I caught sight of our table; there sitting where I had been sitting was Edward. He was sitting in my seat, looking right at me. His face was expressionless, his eyes cold.
I froze in place, my heart skipping a beat at the sight of him. Jasper was talking away to him, unaware Edward's attention had shifted to me. I watched Alice return to the table and how she sat close to Jasper before she extended her hand for Edward to shake. I gulped and made my way towards the table, feeling his eyes burning into me the whole time. What was he doing here? Did he follow me? Or was I just being paranoid?
"Hi," I said awkwardly as I handed Jasper his beer.
Jasper smiled. "She never told me you were coming into the city."
I was about to take the seat next to Alice, but Edward swiftly tucked his hand around my hip, sending me into the seat nearest him instead.
"I wasn't sure I was coming," Edward replied before I felt him look my way. "But how could I miss this?"
I settled my drink down onto the white cube table in the center of us and smiled over at Alice. She, like my own brother, had no idea what Edward was like and what he probably had in store for me after finding me here at a club. The three of them began talking amongst themselves, neither of them noticing when Edward picked up my drink and took a sip of it. I watched him swallow, his Adam's apple bobbing before I watched his eyes darken as the hidden vodka burned his throat.
"I should have known." He said it too quietly for Alice or Jasper to hear him before he placed my drink down in front of me.
I wanted to ask him what he was doing here, how he found me, and why he followed me, but I couldn't find my words. Edward continued to talk to the others, ignoring me, and it only added to my anxiety. He knew I'd skipped school and work, came to the city, shut off my phone, and was now here at a club drinking. Edward shifted slightly beside me, the scent of his cologne wafting past me and making me shiver. He was dressed nice—really nice. I had never seen him dressed like this before. He was wearing a black shirt, black jeans, and black boots. There was no doubt he could get into the club without much effort, especially if he rolled up in his car.
"So where are you guys from?" Alice asked
"Queens." Jasper answered, "You?"
"I live just outside of the city," Alice answered.
Jasper nodded, "Cool."
"Do you guys live together?" Alice asked.
Jasper smiled and shook his head. "I moved to the city; Edward runs our family business back home."
"What's your business?"
The question caused both my brothers to pick up and take a swig of their drinks instead of answering. Alice looked my way, and I smiled.
"It's a family business." I said softly.
Alice smiled and nodded. "Gotcha."
Edward picked up my drink again, taking another sip before placing it back down on the table. My skin tingled as his hand grazed my bare knee under the table, his thumb slowly making circles. I wanted to smack his hand away, but I didn't want to cause a scene, not with Alice and Jasper here. I gulped and took a deep breath through my nose.
Edward smiled at Alice. "I'm a gangster."
Jasper rolled his eyes. "Jesus Christ."
I looked at Alice, certain she was going to pick up her things and leave at that. But where was the fear?
Alice smiled, "Is that right? A real gangster?"
"Absolutely," Edward nodded. "In fact, I'm on the job right now."
I looked over at him. "On the job?"
Edward smiled and nodded. "Yes, I'm looking for someone."
"Who?"
Edward shrugged, "Someone very naughty, someone who deserves to be taught a lesson."
I felt my stomach slam to the floor and the blood leave my hands at the same time. I picked up my drink and took two gulps before I had it in me to look Alice's way.
"And I'm a senior in high school."
Alice looked to Jasper. "You could have mentioned that," she laughed. "Do you have any idea how many drinks I served her?"
"How many?" Edward asked.
Alice sighed "She's a big girl; she can make her own decisions."
Jasper shot me a look before he turned to Alice. "He's joking."
"Yeah I don't think he is," Alice took a sip of her drink "I assume you're the big brother Edward."
"What gave me away?" Edward asked, smiling.
Alice shrugged, "Bella is all shyness and sweetness."
I smiled and ducked my head a little.
"She is sweet, isn't she?" Edward replied softly.
Alice nodded. "A little too sweet; I'm thinking she's not used to a place like this."
"No, she's not." Edward replied.
Alice looked over at me. "But you seem to be holding your own just fine."
I shrugged and smiled, "I'm having fun."
Edward took another sip of my drink before he leaned forward and said, "Are you sure?"
"What does that mean?" I asked him.
Edward picked up my drink and moved it closer to me. "Drink up, princess."
I didn't move; I didn't touch my drink. Edward was clearly pissed off, and there wasn't anything I could do to change his mind. I'd never seen Edward like this before; there was something different about him tonight; he was darker somehow.
"How about another dance?" Jasper asked Alice as he stood up.
"Okay," Alice said, smiling as she stood up with him. "Bella, do you want to come?"
I shook my head. "No thanks."
"Come on, Bella," Jasper said. "You're not going to let me have all the fun, are you?"
I wanted to tell him to sit back down and that something was wrong, but I couldn't find my words. I glanced over at Edward, who was already watching me.
"Next time." I told Jasper before watching the pair of them make their way onto the dance floor together.
I picked up my drink, only to feel Edward's hand close around it before I had it to my lips. I didn't even look his way; I just brought it back to the table softly and continued to watch Alice and Jasper on the dance floor. I was so happy for Jasper; he deserved a girl like Alice. She was beautiful, she had a good sense of humor, and she seemed really sweet. They were both dancing with each other, smiling and laughing. I watched as Jasper pulled her close and kissed her before they danced again. The two of them looked so happy together, so carefree.
I wished for one night I could feel that way, that I could feel like nothing else mattered, that I could just forget everything else in my life.
"I'm sor-"
"Don't even try it," Edward interrupted me before I felt him lean towards me. "You have no idea what I'm going to do to you tonight."
I gulped and slowly turned my head to look at him.
"When we get back home, you're going to find out what happens when you disobey me." Edward told me.
I opened my mouth but closed it quickly again. I had no words, no excuses; I knew it was true; I knew what I'd done.
"It was just one night," I whispered.
Edward leaned even closer to me until his lips brushed my ear. "I'd stop talking if I were you."
I gulped and turned away from him, my eyes searching the crowd for Jasper. He was still dancing with Alice, kissing her.
"How quickly people come into clubs and lose control." I tried to move my legs, but Edward's hand only gripped my knee tighter. "It's easy to forget yourself when you're here. Isn't it?"
I didn't move; I didn't speak.
"So many people," Edward continued. "So much temptation."
He wasn't even looking at me; he was that smug that he could touch me this way and appear so normal. When his hand slid up my thigh and squeezed my flesh, I gulped and placed my hands on the table, and he squeezed my thigh.
Edward brought his lips to my ear. "You're not wearing a bra."
My eyes widened before I turned to face him; his eyes met mine, and he raised his eyebrows.
"Did you really think I wouldn't notice?" he asked softly.
I didn't answer him; I looked onto a dancing Jasper and Alice.
"I'm not as clueless as our brother," Edward's hand moved from my thigh, and I whimpered, "I pay very close attention, until my curiosity is satisfied."
I gulped and kept my eyes locked on the pair.
"And right now, all I can think of is," Edward moved closer to me. "If you didn't wear a bra, does that also mean you aren't wearing any pants?"
I felt my heart speed up in my chest, and I squeezed my eyes shut. I wanted to slap him, to scream, to leave. I didn't know how he could sit there beside me so calm, knowing he was making me squirm.
"This isn't right." I said over the music.
"No, it's not, but I don't give a shit." Edward replied.
I opened my eyes and looked at him; he was angry, so angry.
"I thought you were better than this." He squeezed my thigh. "To come to a place like this, with that jewel between your legs."
I pressed my lips together hard, and he delighted in my misery, his eyes returning to mine.
"When anyone could claim it, take it from you. All these years keeping those legs shut, and now, here you are, dressed like a slut," I flinched at his words. It wasn't like him to talk this way; he wasn't like this. "I could take you right here, bend you over this table, and have you for everyone to see. You want that, do you? To be fucked in front of all these people?"
"Enough."
"You're the kinky little freak that hasn't taken my hand off my thigh since she sat down," Edward continued as his hand shot up my thigh. "If you were just any girl, I would fuck you right here in this club, take you to the bathroom, and make you beg for my cock before creaming your cunt."
I closed my eyes again, his words bringing tears to my eyes.
"But you're not just any girl," Edward's voice softened. "Are you?"
I opened my eyes and shook my head.
"You're my sister."
Edward leaned in towards me; he smelt so good; he always smelt so good. I should hate him right now, but I couldn't help myself. I should hit him, scream, or do anything other than what I was about to do, but I couldn't stop myself. I couldn't fight it; I'd never be able to fight it. I wanted him; I'd always want him. I leaned in towards him before his words stopped me.
"Which is why I'm not giving you what you want." Edward said as he pulled away from me.
The humiliation burned through me as his touch left my skin; my entire body went cold. I watched him as he stood up and took the seat Alice had been sitting in. He picked up my drink and drank some of it before he placed it back down on the table. I was numb; I didn't know how I felt. I couldn't believe what he'd just said to me and what he'd just done. I didn't know if I was grateful or what when Jasper and Alice returned to the table before I could even look Edward in the eye.
"Oh my god, time for shots!" Alice shouted happily.
"What are we drinking?" Jasper asked.
"Tequila," Alice answered before looking my way. "You okay with that?"
I looked her way and nodded.
Edward was still looking at me, still watching me.
"I'll get us all a shot." Jasper said before he stood up.
Alice turned to me again. "Let's go to the restroom; it's the unwritten rule that unless you're going in there for some love, you take a friend."
I looked up at Jasper, who nodded. I couldn't think; I couldn't breathe. I just stood up and followed Alice to the restrooms.
"I'm so glad I stayed; Jasper is a hoot." Alice told me as she walked beside me.
I smiled.
She opened the door to the restroom, and the two of us went in together. I waited outside the stall as Alice peed, my mind racing and my body shaking. When she emerged, she smiled at me, and I forced myself to smile back.
"I'm going to take a wild guess," Alice said, not bothering to hide her scar. "You have no idea how to do tequila shots."
I shook my head "Not really,"
"Okay," Alice said softly. "Well, this is how it's done." She reached out and took my hands in hers. "We lick our hands here, sprinkle salt on them, take the shot, bite a lime, shake our asses, and then you go get some more."
I went up to the sink and ran the water, watching it before applying soap to my hands.
"Hey, you okay?" Alice asked, "You seem upset."
I didn't answer her. I just kept washing my hands; the tears were so close, so close. I dried my hands off and turned to face her.
"It's okay, you don't have to tell me." Alice smiled. "Just don't let him get to you; you were having a great time; don't let him ruin it."
She was rather quick to identify Edward as the reason for my distress, but it didn't really surprise me. I couldn't lie; he'd done exactly what he wanted to me. I felt so humiliated, so angry, so confused. I followed Alice back out of the restroom, the two of us finding Jasper and Edward sitting at the table waiting for us. I took my seat next to Edward again as Alice took hers next to Jasper.
"You know what?" I asked before any of them could say anything.
"What?" Alice asked.
"We should play, drink, or suffer consequences."
Alice smiled. "I love that game." She turned to Jasper and Edward. "Have you guys ever played?"
The boys shook their heads, but Edward glanced at me; his eyes were narrowed; he knew why I was doing this; he knew what I was going to do. I looked away from him and back to Alice.
"So how does it work?" I began, "You drink or you submit."
"Submit?" Jasper laughed.
I nodded. "Yip, you drink or you face the worst side of each of us."
Jasper leaned forward. "And what side is that?"
I smiled, "Your worst fear."
Alice leaned in. "I'm in," she said. "How about you boys?"
Jasper nodded. "Yeah, I'm in."
I looked to Edward.
"Edward?" Jasper asked.
He was still watching me.
Jasper smiled. "She's almost eighteen; we were drinking this stuff when we were."
Edward looked his way. "I'm in," he told him.
Alice clapped her hands together excitedly. "Okay, so who goes first?"
Jasper picked up a shot and smiled. "Me," he told her.
Alice smiled. "Okay, drink or consequence?"
"Consequence," Jasper replied, "Shoot."
"Okay," Alice thought for a moment before she looked around the bar and pointed her hand out. "You see that girl, neon yellow bag, clear heels?"
We all turned our heads, and Jasper nodded.
Alice put her hands over her face, hating herself. I suspected, "You have to trip her up."
I turned to Edward; his lips were pursed as he turned back to the table. I picked up my shot and took a sip of it as Jasper laughed.
"Really?" Jasper asked, "What if I hurt her?"
"You won't hurt her, just," Alice shrugged. "Don't miss."
Jasper took a deep breath and stood up. We watched as he walked across the club, and I couldn't help but laugh when Jasper bumped into the girl. She fell forward slightly but quickly caught her balance. Alice laughed, and the girl turned around and stared at Jasper. But my brother, ever the gentleman, was the one to get her to her feet before her girlfriends could even put down their drinks.
"That was mean." Jasper said as he sat back down at the table.
Alice shrugged "It was your consequence," she said before she turned to Edward. "Your turn."
He picked up his shot glass and necked it without issue.
Jasper smirked, shaking his head. "Our brother causes consequences; he doesn't play nice."
"No, he does not." I blurted out before I could stop myself.
Edward smirked before looking at me. "It's your turn," he picked up a shot, offering it to me, "My sister."
"Go on, Bella." Jasper encouraged.
Edward raised a brow. "You wanna play? Let's play."
I took the glass from him, careful not to meet his touch, feeling Jasper and Alice watching me as I returned the glass to the table before looking back at him.
"That's the Cullen fire." Jasper said seeing my decision to choose consequence.
Edward raised a brow; he was challenging me.
"I want a consequence." I told him.
Jasper laughed "You don't even know how this game works, what makes you think he's going to give you an easy one?"
"I know he won't, that's why I chose it." I told him.
Edward raised a brow again, he was amused.
"She can handle herself, I don't think you guys give this girl enough credit. Look at her eyes, that's pure determination." Alice said
"You're so eager to submit." Edward began
"Or to challenge, it depends on how you look at it."
"I'm not going to go easy on you," Edward continued "You're going to regret it."
I swallowed hard painfully aware we were being watched, I had to keep it together but at the same time keep composure.
"Take your best shot," I told him.
"If you insist," he said, his voice dripping with danger as his eyes remained locked on mine.
Edward rose to his feet, and none of us said a word, his eyes scanning around us before he made his way towards a table across from us. With all of us watching him, he walked past the table of purses and slid his hand beneath one of them, retrieving something before walking around the corner of the room and returning to our table. He took his seat next to me again and opened his hand. The four of us looked down at the item in his palm, a set of car keys. I felt my stomach twist as I dared to meet his gaze again.
"Steal it."
Jasper laughed, "She's not going to steal a car."
"You were fourteen when you stole your first." Edward pointed out.
"Yeah, and I still didn't hold a candle to your record; I was stupid and young," Jasper explained. "And this is your sister we're talking about here."
"No," Alice said softly. "He's right," she turned to look at me. "You don't have to do this."
I glanced at Edward. "I chose consequence; that's what he wants." I told her.
"He wants to get you arrested."
Edward smirked upon hearing this.
"If she gets caught, favorite son or not, our father will set everyone on his list on you." Jasper told him.
"It's about time she learned the family business," Edward continued. "Besides, I'll be with her."
"Is that right?"
"She's not going to get caught." Edward said before turning to me, "Are you?"
I didn't know if he was insulting me or testing me, but I had no idea what to say.
"Fine."
"That's what I thought," Edward stood up and threw the keys to me. "Let's go."
I looked at Jasper and Alice as I stood up.
"Bella, wait a second."
"You're not doing this," Jasper said.
I felt something being pulled over my shoulders; when I looked down, I realized it was Edward's jacket. It smelled of him; it was soft and warm. I looked his way, but he refused to look my way.
"Bella." Jasper shouted.
I smiled at him. "It's fine." I told him.
"This is fucking stupid; you're going to get caught."
"I'm not going to get caught." I assured him before I felt Edward's hand take hold of mine and pull me away.
When we were far enough away from them, I pulled my hand free from his grip and followed him out the back exit of the club. The air was cold, but the alcohol in my system helped me not feel it as much. Edward walked around the side of the building to the front, where the valet was waiting. The guy came running over to us but stopped when he saw me.
"I totally lost my number thing," I flashed the keys. "But it's so Jen's fault for-"
"I'll just take these." The valet said quickly snatching the keys from me.
"Thanks," I replied as he rushed off.
I turned back to Edward, who was watching me, his lips pursed as he stood with his hands in the pockets of his jeans.
"What?"
"Nicely done," he complimented. "Didn't realize you had it in you."
"Well, maybe you don't know me at all."
"I wish I didn't at times. Like tonight," Edward said before his eyes drifted down to look at my dress. "Fucking satin," he mumbled, his voice deeper than I'd ever heard it.
Right then a black GT3 Porsche pulled up in front of us, and the valet from before jumped out of the car and handed me the keys before walking away.
"It's a GT3 Porsche, it's-"
"Time," Edward said.
I took a deep breath; this was stupid. But I wanted to impress him; I wanted to prove I could handle anything. I opened the door and climbed inside, closing the door and putting on my seat belt.
Edward got in beside me and took a moment to smell the interior before he turned to me. "Ready?" he asked.
"I didn't even know that you knew I had my license."
"Like I said," Edward paused as I looked his way. "I pay very close attention."
I swallowed hard and looked out onto the road.
"How did I feel the first time you did this?" I asked him.
Edward hummed beneath his breath before he replied, his voice velvety and deep. "You'll feel it everywhere," he continued as I began to roar the engine. "Above everywhere," he paused again, and I once again gave it another roar. "Just like that," he said as I looked his way. "And if you hold on long enough, you'll feel that rush, that sick, twisted rush; you'll get addicted to it," he leaned forward, his lips against my ear, and I closed my eyes. "And once you do, you'll never forget it."
I licked my lips, my breathing heavier.
"Good girl," Edward said.
"You'll never forget it," Edward whispered into my ear before he pulled away, and I looked his way. "No one ever forgets their first."
With that said, I slammed my foot on the accelerator and sped off.
