To the person that pointed out that I accidentally posted the chapter 3 for Here's the plan for this story. thank you so much for letting me know, not only that but also giving me your best and only honest reviews.
I know it's been awhile since the last time I posted something on here but like I said before, I will never discontinued y'all unless I'm forced to. With that being said, I hope you enjoy this chapter and I am working on the next chapter as we speak.
Also, are y'all familiar with a small rapper name Ham Sandwich? Recently, a friend introduced me to him but the song he showed me was kinda...weird. The song was called "I'm not a furry but". Basically he feels attractive around some furry characters such as Lola Bunny, Jessica Rabbit, Judy Hopps, Roxanne from The Goofy Movie (story coming soon), Loona from Helluva Boos, Rouge The Bat (which I kinda understand.). As messed up this sounds but the son was actually kinda hard. Because of this, I'm questioning myself am I a furry. The internet said that it doesn't necessary mean that I' a furry if I have feelings for furry characters but it also says that I'm only a furry if I'm considered one and I like to considered myself not so... I'm not a furry... Enjoy chapter 3
The next day, Lily was at the school nurse's office, she was there because she kept falling asleep during class and this was the third time this has happened. She was leaning back on the wall, dozing off as the nurse tried to call her mom but there was no response, the nurse then hung up the phone and then went to Lily.
"She's not answering." The nurse said. "Lily, is there someone else we can call for you?" she asked.
About a few minutes later, Kate and Humphrey went inside Lily's school office.
"It's just…I didn't know you have a sister." Humphrey said.
"Well, I do." Kate said as they were about to enter the nurse's office but was stopped by a woman in front of the doorway and then went to Kate.
"Are you Kate Wilson?" the woman asked.
"Yeah." Kate said.
"I'm Emma. I'm with Child Services…" Emma said. "I was assigned to Lily after your father died last-"
"Stepfather." Kate interrupted.
"Excuse me?" Emma asked.
"He was my stepfather, my dad ran off when I was 10 and did not come back." Kate said.
"Well, if we could talk about Lily for a minute?" Emma said as Kate nodded. "How is she when she's at home? Is she sleeping?" she asked.
"I wouldn't know. I don't live there." Kate said.
"So, it's just your mother in the house, then?" Emma asked.
"Yeah." Kate answered.
"How is she holding up?" Emma asked.
"Um, well, she's taking her antidepressants, if that's what you're asking." Kate said.
"OKay and how bad is it? This depression?" Emma asked as she wrote some things on her notebook.
"I'm sorry, is Lily okay?" Kate asked. "Cause you're grilling me like she has a black eye or something." she added.
"She fell asleep in his homeroom class this morning, for the third time this past week." Emma said.
"Okay excuse me." Kate said as she walked past Emma to the nurse's office and then Humphrey did the same and then opened it. When she walked in, she saw her sister.
"Hey." Kate said.
Lily turned her head towards the door and saw her sister. "You showed up." Lily said.
"Well I did." Kate said as she stands in front of her sister and Emma and Humphrey walk in. "Where's mom?" she asked.
Lily just shrugged her shoulders as Emma kneeled down to her level. "Lily, I know you and your mom are going through a lot…and it's harder for you because you can't talk to mom about it…Maybe you even tried to help her." Emma said as Kate looked at Emma, thinking she was going to try to take Lily from her mom. "If you ever wanna talk about it, I'm here, okay?" she said.
Lily thought about what she said and turned to Kate. "This is why you left,...isn't?" Lily asked.
"Uh, no, my deal was a lot more complicated." Kate said. "Okay. Let's go. I'll get you home." she said as she started heading towards the door.
"Your home…or mom's home?" Lily asked.
"Where you live." Kate answered.
Lily stayed quiet.
"Hey…" Kate said as she walked back towards Lily. "You're gonna be okay…" she added as she placed her hands on Lily's shoulder. "Come on." she added as Lily picked up her backpack and started heading out of the office and Kate and Humphrey followed her.
"We'll be in touch." Emma said.
"Uh-huh" Kate simply said as they left the office.
A few minutes later, Humphrey pulled up to the driveway of Lily's home, while Kate was riding the passenger side and Lily was in the back.
"Here we are." Humphrey said as he took off his seatbelt.
"You should let me stay at your place…Just for a night." Lily said.
"Good luck with that, sweetie." Humphrey said.
Kate smiled softly as she rolled her eyes and turned to Lily.
"Umm…I do not think you're really gonna like it there." Kate said. "Cause I have these weird, kind of scary posters on my wall." she added.
"I just need sleep." Lily said.
"We can talk about it, okay?" Kate said.
Lily just nodded.
As everyone was about to get out of the car, Kate hears Humphrey talking.
"Any tips about mom?" he asked.
Kate quickly turned her head back to Humphrey with a concerned look.
"Uh, you are not coming." Kate said to Humphrey.
Humphrey quickly turned back to Kate with a confused look.
"Come on, why not?" Humphrey asked.
"Because she's crazy." Kate said as she got out, along with Lily and Humphrey shuts his down again and started to relax as Kate and Lily went to their front porch.
"Mom goes through phases like that." Kate said. "Just give her time." she added. "Has she been social with anyone?" she asked.
"Someone keeps on coming over." Lily said.
"Good." Kate said. "Who?" she asked.
"Diana." Lily said.
Kate stopped walking and turned to Lily. "What did you say?" she asked.
"Her name is Diana." Lily said.
Kate couldn't believe that she said "Diana", she haven't heard of that name in awhile but she had a idea what she was talking. She went to her and put her hands on her shoulder as Eve was peaking through the window.. "Hey, I know what you're going through…because mom did the same thing to me when my dad left…And I had really bad dreams about Diana…But that's all that they are, okay?...Because she isn't real…" Kate said to Lily as Eve opened the door and Eve was shocked, seeing her older daughter after years.
"Kate…hi." Eve said.
"Hi, mom…" Kate said as Lily went inside the home.
Eve looked at Lily and was confused, why she's not at school.
"What are you doing at home, sweetie?" Eve asked.
"She'll tell you." Lily said as she placed her backpack down and went upstairs. Eve turned back to Kate.
"She hasn't been sleeping." Kate said as she walked in her mom's house without asking.
"Well, can you blame him?" Eve said as she shut the door and went to Kate. "Winston was everything to us…Nearly everything…" she added as she smiled softly and started to shake.
"Have you been seeing a therapist, mom?" Kate asked.
Eve's smile turned into a frown and started walking away to the living room. "I am not going to a stranger to talk about my problem. I've gone through that before…" she said. "You remember?" she asked.
"Yeah, I remember." Kate said as she picks up one of Winston's hats from a box, Eve was packing all of Winston's stuff in a box to put away and Kate noticed that her mom was pacing back and forth.
"How long have you been off your meds?" Kate asked.
"Excuse me?..." Eve said.
Meanwhile upstairs, Lily went to her room and opened her drawer and grabbed some of her clothes and grabbed her bag. She then went to her bed to set the bag down and put her clothes in the bag. She then grabbed a flashlight and put it inside one of the side pockets on the bag, she then zips up her bag and picks it up and takes the bag with her. As she exits the room, she sees a glass door and walks up to the door and peeks through the crack of the door. The room looked like some type of office. Suddenly the tall black figure jumps out and shuts the door in front of her, causing her to jump and run away with her bag and then the figure disappear into the dark.
Meanwhile back at the living room, Eve and Kate were talking about Lily living here and her mom's depression.
"Do you think I wanted any of this to happen to me?" Eve shouted.
"What about Lily? Have you ever thought of her?" Kate asked.
Eve just smiled. "Are you really gonna play the bad mother card on me? You, of all people, huh?" Eve said. "Do you know what it's like to raise her without a father?" Eve said as she turned around and sat down on the couch and then looked at Kate. "Look how you turned out." Eve said as Kate went to her and kneeled down to her.
"I'm gonna give you a few days…and until you stop being completely manic…, I'm going to have Lily staying with me." Kate said.
"No…" Eve said.
"Yes, it's what's gonna happen, mom. And you can call me when you're feeling better." Kate said as she heard Lily coming down the stairs. Kate then turned to her.
"Pack your bags." Kate said to Lily.
"No…" Eve said again.
"I'm already ready." Lily said with the bag in her hands.
"Lily, no no no no please!" Eve said as she slowly walked to Lily and then turned to Kate. "You planned this, didn't you?" she said to Kate.
Kate ignored the question and turned to Lily. "Let's go." she said as they both walked out of the house.
"You planned this!" Eve shouted again.
"We didn't plan anything, mom." Kate said as she and Lily continued walking to Humphrey's car while Eve followed them and it caught Humphrey's attention as he turned his head to his window and saw all three of them.
"I'll be back as soon as I can. Remember to take your vitamins." Kate said as Lily opened the door and get inside of the car while Kate walked to Humphrey's window as he rolled down the window.
"What's going on?" Humphrey said.
"We're going home." Kate said to him and then went to the other side of the car to opened the passenger side of the car and then get in the car.
"Kate, please." Eve said as she started to whimper and kneeled down.
Lily rolled down her window. "I'm sorry, mom." Lily said softly and then she rolled up her window and Humphrey started driving away from the house and then Eve started covering her face as she started crying.
When they arrive at Kate's apartment, Kate takes Lily to her room. "Alright, here we go. You can take the bed…" Kate stopped herself when she looked at the scary posters beside her bed and she completely forgot Lily was sensitive so she could get scared by the posters. Eventually, she thought of something else.
"...Or the couch, if you want." she finished.
"No. it's okay. This is good." Lily said as she put her bag on the bed while Kate was in surprised that she wanted to sleep here.
"Okay…Cool…" Kate said as she slowly walked out of the bedroom. Lily pulls out her flashlight and then turns it on to test it if it still works and then turns it off.
Kate went to Humphrey, who was standing in the living room, looking at her kind concern.
"This is your idea?" Humphrey asked.
Kate then turned to him.
"What do you mean?" Kate asked.
"Bringing the kid here?" Humphrey said.
"Yeah, it's not safe there." Kate said.
"So, you called the lady at the school…That's what CPS is for." Humphrey said.
Kate looked at Humphrey confused. "What do you mean? She's my sister." Kate said.
"And she's her mother." Humphrey said.
"So?" Kate said.
Humphrey looks at her for a moment. "Are you doing this to help your sister or to hurt your mom?" Humphrey asked.
Kate looked at him for a bit and decided not to answer the question. "You should leave." She said.
Humphrey just stared at her for a bit and then eventually walked away and walked out of her apartment while Kate just stood there.
It was now nighttime and Lily was sitting at the dining room table while Kate was making a sandwich. "I know it's a little past dinner time, so we can call this a midnight snack." Kate said as she looked at Lily and back to making the sandwich. "Do you want crust or no crust?" she asked.
"Umm…crust is fine." Lily answered. "Can you make them into triangles?" she asked.
Kate looked at Lily and smiled and then turned back around. "Of course…after all, you are my little sister…" Kate said as she brought her sister's sandwich to her and then pulls out a empty glass cup and put it on the table and then went to the fridge and grabbed the carton of milk and also put it on the table and then she grabbed a brush and grabbed a went behind as she gets ready to brush Lily's hair as Lily starts eating.
"Okay…" Kate said to herself as she started brushing Lily's hair and the brush got stuck by a knot in her hair, causing Lily to grunted in pain.
"Sorry…you had a knot." Kate said as they both shared a smile and Kate started brushing her hair smoothly.
"Kate?" Lily said.
"Yeah?" Kate said as Lily turned around to her and stopped brushing her hair.
"If mom's crazy…,does this mean we're crazy too?..." Lily asked softly.
Kate thought about it while looking at Lily and she eventually shakes her head. "No." Kate said as she bopped Lily's nose and then Lily turned back around and continues eating and Kate continued brushing Lily's hair.
