Egghead Island

The fight had been going on for who knows how long.

Luffy in Gear 5 bounded all around the battlefield and Saint Jaygarcia Saturn, one of the five elders of the World Government.

"Damn you, you insect, stay still so I can kill you!" Saturn screamed with barely concealed anger, as he once again tried to stab Luffy with one of his pointy spider legs, but Luffy's body instinctively matched the form of the lethal limb to protect itself.

"As if I'd let you, you bull jerk! Shishishishishi." Luffy spoke energetically as he countered Saturn's attacks with another of his own.

Jewelry Bonney, who had been watching from the sidelines, gaped at Strawhat Luffy's power, as he matched Saturn's attacks, even countering many and seemingly overpowering the mighty elder.

She didn't want to just sit on the sidelines while her frie- no, her fellow pirate who was just fighting one of the mightiest humans head-on.

With an enraged growl, Saturn slammed his giant cane on Luffy and flattened him to the ground. This caused the war god to smile a very pleased smile until he saw the Strawhat peel one of his arms off the ground, which he then used to peel the rest of his paper-thin body back up. The Elder gaped in horror when he saw his enemy put his thumb into his mouth and blow himself up like a balloon.

"Gum Gum Baloon!" Luffy shouted out joyfully as he blew himself back up to normal with an inflating sound. While Luffy was smirking on the outside he could feel that he didn't have a lot of energy left in him, so he had to be careful, or maybe not! Luffy began to run on the ground, which responded in kind by flowing out from under him like rubbery water. He then shot up into the air and bent it around and under him like some kind of bendy invisible barrier. "Barrier Barrier Air Walk! Shishishishishi." Luffy once again couldn't help laughing in reminiscence of his friend Roosterhead, no, wait it was Bartolomeo. Oh well, either way, he laughed as he named one of his passive moves like his crazy friend did.

He went on and sped ahead towards his target like Usopp would run from an enemy when he used his chicken run tactic.

Saturn was getting frustrated more and more, his enemy treated him like a joke. While he thought this, something entered his peripheral vision. A small pink-haired girl subtly became an adult and aimed to attack him with her pink glowing fist. Before she could hit him, he quickly smacked her away with one of his legs.

Bonney's play was to turn Saturn into a frail old man, but the overwhelming power of the Elder was too much for her.

Out of the corner of his eye, Luffy thought he had seen something pink get smashed into the ground but he shrugged it off and slammed his head into the half-form Elder. But just after he hit him, Saturn changed into his full beast form, something that caused Luffy to grin, finally, this battle got exciting.

Saturn tried to hit Luffy with poisonous blobs of acid he spat out or stab him with his now poison-covered legs, but Luffy's strong Observation Haki allowed the young pirate to dodge most of the attacks.

The few blobs that hit him were more annoying than harmful, since Luffy was immune to most if not all poisons.

Unfortunately, Saturn was even more formidable in his full beast form and it got continuously harder for Luffy to get a hit in.

Luffy let out a hum as his back hit the ground. His Gear 5 started to fade due to the overuse of it. His enemy came back down and stalked towards him like a spider would to a fly or any other kind of small creature stuck in its web. Saturn's poison secreted into the ground below, dissolving some of it in the process as he made his way over to Strawhat Luffy.

"You have been a pain in our side since the very beginning Strawhat Luffy and now it's time to put you down like the dog you are!" growled the Elder and raised one of his legs to stab Luffy in the heart.

As the attack came down upon him, Luffy noticed the pink object which he passed off as nothing earlier twitching in the distance. And now, he wished he hadn't. "BONNEY!" He screamed as his friend lay there almost dead, blood dripping down her cheek while time seemingly came to a stop for him.

He couldn't, no, he wouldn't let her die. He wouldn't lose another one of his friends! Especially not after promising the old apple guy to protect her! With a sudden burst of strength, he blocked the Saint's attack with his fist coated in Haki. If he died then Bonney would almost certainly die as well. He wouldn't let that happen, he couldn't!

Earlier

When Bonney's back hit the ground, she coughed hard while blood spat out of her mouth. Her chest heaved in agony.

"Goddamnit. Why does that old bugger have to be so powerful? I could go for some pizza right about now! Wait what? What the hell am I thinking, I can't eat at times like this." Her Mind had begun to wonder about more pleasant things before she brought herself back to reality.

"Why, why do I have to be so weak?" she spoke weakly before letting out another cough, which caused more blood to spill from her mouth and down her cheek, all of her previous energy had been knocked out of her. She could barely move now. To conserve more power, she shrunk back down to her true form. Still weak and exhausted, all she could do was watch her ally battle with Saturn in the distance.

Tears rolled down her cheeks while she reminisced about her life up until now. Her father, who had been once a powerful member of the revolutionary army, had now been reduced into nothing but a lowly slave by those fucking celestial wankers! Bonney's eyes widened when she saw her ally get flung back down to the ground, his power now diminishing while he lay on the ground.

She turned her head to the side, her eyes half-lidded as her eyes met his. Anger, yes Anger was the emotion she saw in her ally's eyes. One moment he had been lying on the ground, weakened. Now he stood tall as he blocked Saturn's attack.

Present

If Luffy could do then why couldn't she? There was one thing she could do, but it was practically suicide if she messed it up she would die! But it was all she had left in her, if Luffy could do it then so could she. With some struggle, she managed to climb up and onto her feet.

"Hey Luffy!" She croaked out with her small and soft voice.

"Yea?" Luffy responded with a serious look while he struggled to hold back Saint Saturn.

"I have a plan. But it's risky."

Luffy, who was still holding the attack back with all his strength shouted back. "How risky!?"

The only word she managed to get out was "Deathly."

Luffys face paled for a second but then a grin slowly formed on his face. "If you think you can, then go for it!

Saturn watched this interaction with annoyance. How dare these brats try to talk so casually in front of him, he'd show them.

He got ready to fire another poison ball at Strawhat, but the boy pushed him back which sent him flying back even though it wasn't far.

Luffy grinned at Bonney. "Let's do this, Bonney!"

She nodded and focused on her secret move. Putting all her focus on the sound of the Drums of Liberation and sure enough felt an amazing power flow through her body.

She let the power flow freely through and even out of her body, the feeling of joy and freedom caused her body to age up to her late teens once more, but now with a single key difference.

Her tattered clothes began to turn white along with her hair and her eyes turned red to match Luffy's and she gave him a small smile.

Luffy's eyes widened, but he grinned in excitement, pulled up all of his strength and returned to his Gear 5 form. He laughed at the absurd situation, his friend had gained the same powerup he had.

"I think you've reached your peak, Bonney! Shishishishishishishi." Luffy laughed uncontrollably and Bonney let out a small chuckle before bellowing out a laugh as she laughed heartily. "Ahahahahahahahahah. Yeah! I think you're right!" She laughed and fell to the ground.

The ground under her began to bend, and she sank before springing back up like the ground was made of rubber. Two pairs of red eyes met each other with a large grin on his face, they began to jump up and down. Bonney couldn't help but laugh constantly, for the first time in her life she had felt truly free.

"That's the spirit, Bonney! Turn that frown upside down!" laughed Luffy and flipped upside down to land on his head. Now his smile looked like a frown before he stretched his neck so his head would be the right way up again. Bonney once again let out a peal of laughter while she bounced up and down on the soft springy ground beneath her. "Yhaaaaaa whoooooo" She shouted and her grin matched Luffy's.

When Saint Saturn finally managed to get back up once again, he growled in frustration. He was now at his limit, but he was going to kill Strawhat Luffy and tear him limb from limb.

He would watch the blood flow from each limb he tore off like water from a faucet.

He charged in with the might that would make anyone else cower before him. The sight that greeted him was that of now two joyfully laughing teens bouncing around each other while they laughed their heads off, quite literally, as their necks stretched and flung back and forth sillily.

"This shouldn't be possible. How is this possible?" he thought to himself, for what must've been the first time in his life he felt true and unfiltered FEAR!

He shook himself as he tried to make himself move, but the fear now overwhelmed him. Even in his massive beast form, if anyone were to look his way at that moment they'd see nothing but a cowering dog. After some time he managed to steal his nerves. He sped forward towards the two Joyboys, or Joygirl in Bonney's case.

He went to attack them, but suddenly both sprung downwards before flinging up into the air. They spun around each other and shot into the clouds above.

When they entered the cloud, Luffy bit his thumb, blew tons of air into his body and inflated it to a giant size.

Watching Luffy curiously, Bonney carefully bit her thumb as well and blew. It was weird, like getting filled with air. It flowed through her veins and expanded her body even further. She accidentally disproportionated one of her limbs. Huffing, she pouted cutely at Luffy when he laughed at her.

"You look ridiculous Bonney, shishishishishi!" Luffy laughed before he decided to help his friend. Quickly he grabbed one of her arms and slapped some of the air into her other limb, which caused the other arm to inflate to the right size.

"There, all better," Luffy said as she flicked him in annoyance only for Luffy to laugh it off. Storm clouds were around them and Luffy had an idea.

He grabbed one end of a cloud and gestured to Bonney to grab the other one. Luffy sprang backwards and stretched the thunderstorm cloud, he grabbed his end and tied it until it was like a handle. "You can let go now!" Luffy called out and Bonney let go.

If Saint Saturn had felt true fear before, then what he felt now couldn't even be described as he saw two giant figures in the air behind the clouds. Well, he could see their shadow and he most certainly didn't like what he was imagining.

"GUM GUM THUNDERCLOUD WHIP!" Yelled a loud voice out from behind the clouds, and what seemed to be a thundercloud shot down from the sky and wrapped around him only to shock him to a crisp before he was flung into the air, where he saw two gigantic teens.

The one in front of him, Strawhat Luffy, gave him a toothy grin, he felt this monster's crimson eyes bore into him. He was flicked towards the giant teenage girl and he felt himself get turned into a rubbery ball while the two kicked him around in the air like a football.

The two laughed like maniacs while they toyed with their enemy, they played a game of airball with each other. "GOOOOOAL!" Luffy shouted out when he kicked Saint Saturn through Bonney's cloud goal.

"AWWWW, DAMMIT!" Bonney called out as she had to watch Luffy run around the airfield with his straw hat covering his eyes while he screamed in joy

"THAT'S SO NOT FAIR. YOU MUST'VE CHEATED!" Bonney screeched at Luffy, went into a strop and sat down on the cloud like a child with her legs crossed while glaring at Luffy, though she couldn't stay like this for long when Luffy came up behind her and wrapped his stretchy arms around her. "OH, DON'T BE SUCH A SORE LOSER BONNEY! SHISHISHISHISHISHISHI."

Bonney tried to stay mad at her all- no her friend! But she couldn't as his grin was infectious so she laughed as well. "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, I GUESS YOU'RE RIGHT LUFFY!"

Bonney smiled while she felt something flutter in her chest though she didn't know exactly what, before her cheeks began turning a bright shade of purple.

"HEY BONNEY, YOU LOOK LIKE A GRAPE!" Laughed Luffy. It wasn't for long before he got punched by an enlarged stretchy fist by a blushing Bonney, which sent him flying back into the clouds dazed.

Stars swirled around Luffy's head and his eyes became swirls of concussion. Luffy eventually managed to get back up and glare at Bonney with a smile "WHAT WAS THAT FOR YOU BIG JERK!"

Bonney responded to Luffy's shouting with her own. "DID YOU JUST CALL ME FAT!?" Bonney screamed, her face turned even more purple with her fists clenched tightly at her sides. Luffy gave her a confused look and an actual question mark appeared above his head. "WHAT, NO OF COURSE NOT! IT'S BECAUSE WERE GIANTS BONNEY!" he laughed once again.

"YEAH, WELL, MAYBE YOU SHOULDN'T GO CALLING OTHERS AFTER A FRUIT!" She claimed while Luffy came back in for a hug where he wrapped his rubbery arms around her.

"BUT YOU DID LOOK LIKE ONE!" Bonney groaned in annoyance before laughing it all off as they stayed in that hug for a few moments.

Luffy finally put her down and let go of the hug and they both jumped off of the cloud and towards the ground. There on the ground lay Saint Saturn.

Bonney went in to attack first, her fist glowing pink to rewind the Saint's time. Luffy also tried to get his hit in first but got accidentally hit with Bonney's power, which turned him into a kid while still in Gear 5.

While touching Luffy, she accidentally turned herself into a kid as well due to her powers still being not fully known to her. Now both teens turned kids had the power of gods at their fingertips, but now due to their age, their control was slipping. The reality was starting to bend around them, one moment they were there and the next they were gone.

Luffy and Bonney screamed in both fear and excitement as they fell through the spiraling vortex and got lost in the fog of time.
