Tales as Old as Time.
Gambit is one of those Marvel superheroes I have no strong feelings for either way.
He always was just 'okay'. I got that he was supposed to be cool and mysterious and suave and all, but I never liked him any better than 'he's not bad'. And he's not unlikable or anything like that, but eh.
I first met Gambit in a Venezuelan reprint of Jim Lee issues. There I was too busy ogling at Storm and Rogue to care about him.
Then, the 1992 animated series. There, he felt like... he was okay. He was not bad! He had a funny voice and he wasn't grating. But he wasn't my boy Hank Mc Coy and ultimately you could have written him out of the series without nothing important changing at all.
So why am I writing him here before my boy Hank Mc Coy or even Wolverine (Berserker) or Archer Cyclops?
He fights using a long staff and a Lancer was needed for the chapter and it was time to spotlight a Marvel character. So, Gambit.
Sorry if this entry is a bit bland. At the very least, hopefully it will be 'okay' to you.

Biography:
From the official files of Uatu the Watcher, Universe 616:
Abandoned at birth due to his burning red eyes, the child who would one day become Remy LeBeau was kidnapped from his hospital ward by members of the New Orleans Thieves' Guild who referred to the child as 'le diable blanc' - the white devil. They believed he was the child that had been prophesied to unite the warring Guilds of Assassins and Thieves. Soon after, Remy was placed in the care of a gang of street thieves who raised the child and taught him the ways of thievery.
As part of a peace pact between the two guilds, a marriage was arranged between Remy and Bella Donna Boudreaux, the granddaughter of the head of the Assassin's Guild. However, Bella Donna's brother Julien objected to the marriage and challenged Remy to a duel. Remy killed Julien in self-defense, but was expelled from his guild and banished from New Orleans.
Remy wandered the world as he plied his skills as a master thief, calling himself 'Gambit'. At one point, he approached the master geneticist Mr. Sinister for help in controlling his powers. Sinister removed some of Remy's brain tissue to reduce his power levels, thus affording him a greater degree of control. As a result, Remy was now in the geneticist's debt, and Sinister subsequently charged the thief with assembling the team of assassins called the Marauders. Remy did not realize that Sinister would employ the Marauders to massacre the underground mutant community known as the Morlocks. Seeing the horrific results of his actions, Remy attempted to stop the massacre but was almost killed by the Marauder named Sabretooth.
Eventually, Remy encountered Storm, a member of the outlaw team of mutant adventurers known as the X-Men. When the X-Men's founder Professor Charles Xavier returned from a long period of traveling in outer space, Storm sponsored Remy's admission into the team.
As an X-Man, he began seeking redemption for sins past by playing an unlikely role – that of a hero.
Class Skills:
Riding: C
Gambit can drive land vehicles with efficiency, although he is not an ace driver; he also can steer small boats. Due to flying the X-Men's aerial transport, the Blackbird, for the brief time he was a co-leader, he also can pilot air vehicles as long as they are not more advanced than those of his time.
Dragons and phantasmal beasts are impossible to control by the Servant.
Magic Resistance: C
Lancer doesn't have any knowledge of magecraft beyond how dangerous it can be and therefore should possess little Magic Resistance.
However, the X-Men fought many mystic threats, such as their universe's version of the lord of vampires, Dracula, and prevailed over them. Since Gambit was present in several of those encounters with the supernatural he acquired part of the team's endurance against magic as per Servants.
Personal Skills:
Guild of Thieves: A++
The Servant has all the skills of an expert stealthy thief. Even when not summoned as an Assassin, he still moves as one of them, with grace and efficiency. No move is wasted, and he can take from others in silence. It is no Presence Concealment, but he can close the distance between himself and others quickly and steal from them, even weapons that he seals, even when he cannot use them himself.
He is also a genius at planning an elaborate heist and getaway and leading others into them, greatly enjoying the scheming and finding humor in it.
X-Factor: A
LeBeau has the mutant power to charge objects with explosive energy. He employs playing cards he charges with that kinetic energy as his trademark throwing weapon.
While cards are his favored means of attack as they are light and easy to carry around, he also can charge all sorts of objects he can lift. Not only with his hands, but also with his eyes.
His ability to tap energy also grants him increased speed, strength, reflexes and flexibility. However, he cannot charge other living beings with that energy, not directly, that is.
Seductive Wiles: B+
The Servant is a charmer of ladies, able to woo almost any women with ease. Only his moral standards prevent him from taking full advantage of it.
While he is not gifted with Mystic Eyes or a charm resembling Lancer Diarmuid's, his voice has been described as nearly hypnotically soothing.
Noble Phantasms:
Cajun Slash: Now you See It, Now I Blinded You: C
Anti-Unit.
Lancer swings his staff at the enemy and unleashes a swipe of gathered kinetic energy at them, making them burst on contact.
The attack is fast moving but relatively short ranged and easy to block.
Royal Flush- Fifty Two Pick-Up: C
Anti-Troop.
Up to 12 targets at a time.
A physical Noble Phantasm that is better used in close range. Lancer throws his staff up; it flies around hitting all those around him while he throws cards that explode and flash in all directions, surrounding himself with a barrier that is like a spiderweb capturing his enemies.
He is vulnerable for several moments after completion of it.
Start of Battle:
"Pick a card, any card."
"Someone called for a bon vivant?"
"Time to crack open the hot sauce!"
"Who cookin' jambalaya?"
"You just got yourself one Rajin' Cajun."
Attack:
"And not a scratch on me!"
"Bon voyage!"
"Did I just blow your mind?"
"Don't mess with a bayou boy!"
"Don't touch the trenchcoat!"
Damage:
"Man, this hurts."
"This ain't no fun at all!"
"This where I scream like a little girl!"
"I'm seein' spots...!"
Damage by Noble Phantasm: "I hadn't hurt this way in a long time!
Victory:
"Care to dance again, mon ami?"
"Je suis le meilleur!"
"La tournament est finite."
"That was too easy, mon ami. Try again?"
"Au revoir! See you again!"
Defeat:
"Fresh outta hot sauce..."
"C'est la vie."
"I'm gonna take the rest of the day off, okay?"
"Snap... Crackle... Nothin'."
"Ooh, that'll leave a mark."
Summon: "Bonjour! Servant Lancer, you picked the best from the bottom of the deck! How 'bout you an' me blow somethin' up?"
Noble Phantasm Activation:
"Dis is how we do it down the deep South, boya! Cajun Slash!"
"Greetings from the Guild of Thieves! Royal Flush!"
Extra Dialogue:
"The king of thieves? Izzat for real? A honor then, bon ami, but what if we compare the ways we do it at each side of the pond, just for fun?" (When you have Assassin Arsene Lupin the Third).
"Mon Dieu. What sort of monster are you..." (When you have Caster Gilles de Rais).
"A harmful stupid stereotype? Moi? Stones and glass houses, M'sieu." (When you have Archer Captain Boomerang).
"Sacre bleu. What is he doing here? He won't take orders from anyone, not even you. And seriously, I must admit I'm not going to be in his list of friends after the last time we crossed paths!" (When you have Caster Victor von Doom).
"Betsy! Ah, chere, you are a pleasure for sore eyes! What? No, I'm not makin' moves on you. I just thought we should be happy to see each other again!" (When you have Assassin Psylocke).
"Ah, the Professor's 'good pal'. He never fails to be a headache, no matter if he's on your side or not." (When you have Avenger Magneto).
Birthday: "Ah, this takes me back. At the mansion, we sure used to throw big birthday parties! Logan, he always was grumblin' about them, but I'm sure even he enjoyed them. Cheers!"
Event: "Just look at 'em go around! Like chickens with their heads cut off, non?"
Holy Grail: "Your move, mon ami. Tell me your wish first. Then I'll see if it's worth it, going after the blasted thing together. I know, having standards after so long, isn't that stupid? But I don't want you to get corrupted by success."
