"Would you just slow down kid," Frank called out as he chased after Ricky down the street.

"You know it's just my luck," Ricky growled as he slid his smiling mask back on. This mask has been a great substitute for the smile he use to wear growing up. After having lived with the Brotherhood and the X-Men Ricky had learned to come out of the shell Father Chimera beat him into. Right now that was working against him instead of for him, because all he could feel was rage and his face was now betraying him. Without that mask, he was no longer Vibrant, just the boy who was raised by monsters.

"Look, it's not my fault your my kid," Frank tried to explain.

"Ha, that's exactly how the deed works," Ricky joked. "You know, I was excited to meet Bradford. A man condemned for looking like a devil was just so relatable. Do you know how many people nicknamed me Scarface in middle school, and both my high-schools. Not to mention when mutants were revealed to the world, my friends and I were forced into hiding just like him. He really could have been a great father figure for me and at the very least other mutants. But no, I am related to a freaking murderer!"

"I didn't kill anyone who didn't deserve it," Frank assured.

"And who are you to say who deserves it?", Vibrant wondered. "You know, I was in a base full of Nazi enthusiasts and did I go gun's blazing? No!"

"Well maybe you should have, but that doesn't matter right now," Frank shook his head. "Your my boy, and I'm sorry I wasn't there for you. I didn't know."

"You didn't know? That's your excuse! I was raised by a redneck who tried to kill me because of my powers," Ricky yelled. "Then I was raised by a mob boss who wanted me to fight with them, followed by some loser who wanted me to steal for him with them! I never had a good father, or mother. Now I know where I really come from. A man who guns down people like animals."

"People," Frank repeated with an eye roll. "Yeah you might not be proud of me, that's fine. I've done things I wouldn't expect anybody else to do. But I'm proud of you, because in spite all that abuse, you never become one of those animals that I gun down. You became your own man, with your own code. You've been taking care of kids just like you, like Reptiless and Ghost. That's a good man right there, someone I'd be proud to call my son."

Ricky was fuming after hearing that. The way Frank was now compared to when he was the Punisher was like night and day. Granted Ricky was the same way when he'd hide behind his smile. He had once teamed up with the Brotherhood mutants to be nothing more than a highschool bully to the X-Men. Even worse, he wanted to watch the end of humanity back when Magneto was filling his head with ideas. Was he really any better than Frank. Ricky shook his head as he tried to get a hold of himself. This man did not deserve sympathy, Ricky just watched him kill forty people earlier that morning with no hesitation. "I've got to go back for Reptiless and Ghost," Ricky decided as he turned around and walked pass Frank back towards the diner."

"Don't worry about it, Shield had picked them up along with Wade," Frank explained. "Now I don't normally trust Fury, but I don't believe he's the type to let harm come to kids. Even if they are mutants."

"You'd be surprised what humans are capable of," Ricky growled. "Fury had been getting in my head trying to instill his ideals since I met him. I know this because I've gone through the same exact thing before with Father Chimera, with Magneto, and now your trying to do it. Trying to convince me, oh there was no chance those people could have changes. They were just going to be mutant haters for the rest of their lives."

"Ricky, they came at you and Bradford with assault rifles, they weren't looking to change anytime soon. Let's say your right and they finally feel bad after five years, being generous with that one. How many mutants like you would those bastards have killed before then? How many of their victims would have been mutants you've known and protected?"

"You're still doing it," Ricky grunted as he grabbed his head. "I get it, you've convinced yourself that everything you do is justified, but why are you trying to convince me that?"

"Because I'm not going to let some Anti-Mutant activist kill my remaining son," Frank growled. "I've already lost a son before, I'm not going to lose another one. Not when I can hit the people who want him dead before they hit him!"

"You just met me," Ricky reminded him. "You don't know me!"

"Then help me get to know you Ricky," Frank shouted. "I'm really trying here, didn't you make it your entire mission to find your old man. Well here I am."

"I just need time to process," Ricky shot back. "You couldn't stand my guts until now. Why change that? Because I look like you?"

"It's chilling," Frank admitted. "Seeing my face stare back at me for the second time in my life. I thought that ended when Junior was killed." Frank breathed for a moment and then shook his head. "Take this card and give me a call when you've processed." Frank wrote his number on the back of the diner's business card and the letters I.C.E over top of his number. "In the mean time, I'm going to clean up this city a little more. Bradford may be gone, but I've still got someone to take care of those Activists for."

Ricky looked down and grunted as Frank headed away. He was off again to go kill more people, and even worse he was doing it for Ricky. "Family, has always been my curse," Ricky admitted to himself. "I... I need to return to the X-Men for a bit, talk to the Professor." Ricky realized he could just leave Ghost and Reptiless in Fury's hands, what if he turns them into weapons. Not to mention there's an army that Seer and Dragon were building together. So far he's deemed that Seer and Dragon don't actually want to harm anyone, they just want to protect their fellow mutants in this new day and age they live in. But still Ricky had put too many jobs on his shoulders and now he has family drama working it's way back in again. Technically he had asked for this when he went looking for Bradford, but who he found instead. How could Ricky condone Frank's actions? Even worse, how come he also somewhat agrees with him.
