AN: Well this took forever despite being written way back in April. But between working on another project, depression, distraction, life, a new game coming out, distraction, and other general distractions it's only now been edited. Good news is that the next two chapters are written so they should be edited shortly. Fingers crossed and all that.

Chapter 6

Mew vs Captain Kuro, Straw Hats vs Black Cats, Mew vs Sengoku?!( his patience at least) Or Mew gets into a cat fight then makes a crank call

Kaya had just enough time to realize that she was in danger, a fearful scream escaping her, before Klahadore was within range to stab her. The blood on the claws disturbingly highlighted by the light from the moon as they seemed to travel in slow motion towards her. In the corner of her vision she could see Mew tracking the man's movements even if the pink cat didn't look worried.

There was a sharp crack, one that echoed throughout the room, as the claws slammed into what looked like thin air. The Barrier that Mew had set up was briefly visible as the energy comprising it rippled from the impact. A foot long section of one of the claws spinning through the air before it embedded itself in the wall just above the door. The blade snapping being what had made the cracking noise.

Klahadore's eyes widened in shock and surprise, he hadn't even expected that there was something that would prevent his attack. The breaking of one of his bladed claws added even more insult to the event. Looking down at the broken claw he noticed that his arm was shaking with the effort of keeping it lifted, that along with how weak he suddenly felt tipped him off to the fact that something was wrong.

While he had no way of knowing that Mew's Growls had drastically lowered his attack stat, he was smart enough to guess as to the source. The pink cat that had turned its gaze towards him. An emotion that felt uncomfortably like fear shot through his body, muscles tensed, and his senses sharpened as adrenaline went through his system.

He felt like he had stumbled on an apex predator, one that was even now deciding if he was worth it's time. Even with his sharpened senses he missed the dark mass that stretched itself away from Mew before it vanished into the shadows of the room.

"I'll just have to kill you later, Miss Kaya." Klahadore said softly and with far more bravery than he currently felt. Rushing forward he feinted a strike towards Kaya before taking a running leap straight through the window beside her bed. He had halfway cleared the frame when Mew's Pursuit hit, the pink Pokemon slamming head first into his back. The attack interrupted his jump, and instead of him jumping successfully to safety he tumbled head over heels the rest of the way through the window. Starting to fall to the ground below.

Still Klahadore hadn't spent the last three years for this exact moment by being idle, he had kept up his training in secret and continued to hone his body. Thus he managed to land on his feet, body becoming a blur as he took off at the fastest speed that he could still control himself at. Trusting in his speed to avoid the pink menace that lazily flew after him.

Mew skidded to a stop in midair before it spun its tail in a circle behind it. Half a dozen gleaming white stars appeared after the tails passage. The stars hovered for a moment before they shot forward, honing in on Klahadore, razor sharp points slammed hard into his back. He cursed in pain and nearly stumbled before catching himself. He needed to get out of here and now.

So throwing caution to the wind, Klahadore went to his max speed, instantly vanishing from Mew's sight. Except for the explosions of debris when he inevitably crashed into an obstacle.

Mew hovered in place as it watched Klahadore vanish into the distance. Rather than continuing its pursuit Mew turned around to head back to the mansion. Flying back through the broken window Mew found the bed empty, the door to the room that had been closed now open. Mew could hear someone crying from deeper inside the building. Mew followed the sounds of crying through the mansion, twisting and spinning in the air as it went, until it came across Kaya sobbing over the body of a sheep-headed man.

"Mew, please help Merry!" Kaya cried as she noticed Mew floating there, her hands still working to bandage the wounds.

Mew floated closer, the scent of blood from Merry's wounds stifling to Mew's nose even as it rested its paws on him. A soft green light spread outwards from where Mew touched as the Pokemon channeled a Heal Pulse through Merry. Cuts closed as the cells knitted themselves back together at a rapid rate until all that remained was pink skin. Skin that was returning to its normal color even as Kaya watched.

"Mew, that's amazing! How did you do it?" Kaya asked, grabbing hold of Mew's paws while tugging it up into the air.

"Mew?" Was the incredibly helpful response from Mew just before it Teleported away. Leaving Kaya wondering where the catlike creature had gotten off to.

Mew reappeared at Luffy's side with a soft pop that startled Usopp and caused him to drop the empty grease can he had been holding. Luffy, Zoro, and Nami, already used to Mew's Teleporting antics, only gave the Pokemon a glance. Mew peered around curiously at the half set up traps, and surprises for when the Black Cat pirates arrived.

"Heh, so what do you think of Captain Usopp now?" Usopp bragged as he addressed Mew. Even as he privately wondered where Mew had been this whole time.

"Meeewww..." Everyone's gaze turned towards Luffy waiting for a translation of the Pokemon's words. What they got was Luffy twisting himself around, in a way that no one with a normal spine could possibly do, as he gazed towards the opposite side of the island. Back in the direction of where the crew had anchored their ship, and where Usopp and Luffy had seen Klahadore and Jango talking.

'Usopp! What if the pirates come from the north instead?" Luffy asked as he twisted himself even further to face Usopp once more.

"Well I just kind of assumed that with Kuro and Jango having the meeting there they wouldn't use that spot... Oh." As Usopp was talking he looked between the crew, Mew, the half setup defenses, and finally up at the just starting to brighten sky.

"You idiot!" Nami shouted, smashing her fist against the top of Usopp's head.

"We have to get to the north now!"

"Mew!"

"You can do that Mew? Awesome!" Nami, Zoro, and Usopp all looked quizzically at Luffy as he responded to whatever Mew had just said. Zoro, and Nami's confusion turning to terror as Luffy's arms stretched out to pull them all towards him.

"Hit it Mew!"

"Luffy, what?" Zoro started to say before Mew Teleported all of them to the top of the slope overlooking the beach where they had left their ship.

"Mew, you can teleport?! Wait I already knew that, Mew you can teleport other people?!" Nami shouted in surprise as she pulled out of Luffy's grip.

"Mew, mew."

"Mew says it can only teleport to me or a place that it's been before. Also four is apparently the max amount of people it can carry at one time."

As Nami and Luffy were discussing how impressive Mew was, Zoro was keeping a lookout looking out towards the sea, Usopp meanwhile was panicking over the fact that they had left all his supplies behind.

"Enough about that! We left all of the equipment behind!" He shouted, working his way into a panic. At least until Mew floated over and smacked him on the head with its tail. Mew then floated away from Usopp, seeming to be examining the terrain that it had to work with. The sloped earth and rock ramp bordered on one side by a rock wall and a high cliff on the other.

Nodding in satisfaction, Mew got started, its pink body nearly a blur as it zipped back and forth along the length of the ramp. As it flew it scattered patches of Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and Stealth Rocks around. The group watching in awe as Mew turned the ramp into a veritable minefield of dangers.

Floating slowly back to the group Mew dipped in the air before it recovered itself. At least until a yawn escaped from it.

"Mew…"

"Don't worry Mew, we'll take care of the rest!" Luffy shouted even as he gave Mew a thumbs up.

Mew nodded in response as it floated over to the top of cliff, finally settling down in the branch of one of the trees. Already asleep before the sun poked its head over the horizon and the Black Cat Pirates arrived. Even the sounds of battle not enough to rouse it.

Usopp's slingshot snapped as he sniped another one of the Black Cat Pirates, his current position offering him an excellent vantage point. He couldn't believe that he had only known these people for a single day with how much they had flipped everything he knew on its head. Luffy and his crewmates were amazing but Mew was in a league of it's own.

In a single day Mew had healed Kaya, teleported all of them here after telling them that they had overlooked this angle of attack, then it had finished by creating all of the traps that were hindering the Black Cats.

Every step the Black Cat's took up the slope was hazardous, the spikes easily pierced the bottom of boots, the ones with poison draining the strength from their bodies while the regular ones hobbled them, the stones formed an invisible net that floated in the air. Their presence, an invisible net that scratched and cut up the pirates as they tried to move through it. All the while Usopp was free to snipe them as he pleased as they dealt with the obstacles.

The few that did manage to make it all the way up the slope ran straight into the waiting arms of Luffy, Zoro, and Nami. Who were all more than capable of finishing off the injured pirates. It was only when Jango hypnotized the Meowban Brothers that things got difficult, they ignored the damage that the traps inflicted on them. Eventually both ended up in a battle with Zoro.

Luffy would have assisted Zoro, if one the swordsman had wanted it, and two if Kuro hadn't shown up still injured from earlier to face Luffy. While that was happening Nami and Usopp had to protect Kaya from Jango as the hypnotist finally made his way up the slope. The answer to avoid all of the traps apparently being to moonwalk up it.

In the safety of his own thoughts Usopp called bullshit, but the whole experience did leave him wondering if he could be both a brave pirate and a tricky one. Already weapon ideas were being considered in the back of his mind.

Later that day, with Kuro and all of his crew having been safely locked up in Kaya's basement under guard by several villagers. Luffy, Zoro, Nami, and Usopp were celebrating at one of the restaurants with two notable absences. Mew and Kaya were back at her mansion.

Mew was stretched out contentedly in Kaya's lap. Enjoying the belly rubs it was receiving from her as the pair waited for the Transponder Snail to connect.

"Purupuru, Purupuru. Gacha."

"Fleet Admiral Sengoku speaking." A voice spoke through the snail as it gained an afro, and long straight beard.

"Mew!" The Pokemon happily exclaimed in response.

"Shush Mew and let me speak." Kaya gently scolded the Pokemon as she pulled the transceiver out of Mew's reach. Both missed Sengoku muttering "Not this again."

Still he was hoping to get some answers. Answers like how the hell they had gotten his number in the first place, and how they got through the Marine call screening system.

"Hello Fleet Admiral, my name is Kaya and I live in Syrup Village on the Gecko Islands in the East Blue. The reason I'm calling is because we have Captain Kuro and the Black Cat pirates here and we need some Marines to pick them up. We had some help in capturing them but no one in the village really wants to have them around any longer than possible."

While Kaya was speaking Sengoku was staring down at his desk. Debating if the brewing headache would get any worse if he smashed his head into it. Kuro was supposed to be dead. Executed after being captured by Morgan. But if what Kaya was saying was true then for the last 3 years a supposedly dead pirate had been running around free.

"I have a man in the area that I can contact to send your way and pickup Kuro."

"That's great! We were unsure how long we might have to keep them."

"Now Miss, Kaya was it?" A noise of confirmation from the other end of the line letting him know that he had gotten it correct.. "I'd like to ask how you managed to get a hold of this snail number."

"Oh that's easy, Mew punched it in for me when I was trying to figure out how to contact the Marines." Banging his head against the desk was looking like a better and better idea with each passing second.

"Who or what is Mew exactly?"

"Mew is Mew I guess. It's this pink vaguely cat looking creature that has all kinds of awesome powers! It can fly, teleport, create shields of energy, heal people with eggs and milk, the noises it can make can apparently make people weaker, also it seems like it can sense danger."

Sengoku closed his eyes as he fought back a sigh. He had a feeling that that was the best answer he was going to be getting right now.

"Thank you for telling me all of this Miss Kaya, I'll make sure to have some men by soon in order to pick up those pirates."

He placed the receiver back down on its cradle as with his other hand he rubbed the bridge of his nose. Once some of the headache had left him he called Garp.

"Garp, tell me you have Morgan in custody already."

"Secure in the brig, and you're not gonna believe this Senny but he says."

"That Kuro is still alive?"

"...Yeah, the real Kuro had one of his men hypnotize Morgan into believing that he had caught the real Kuro. Also altered Morgan's personality or something, not sure I believe that but whatever.

How'd you know Kuro was alive?"

"I just got a call from Syrup Village about them capturing him and the Black Cat Pirates. I want you to pick them up before coming back here right away." Sengoku could feel the headache starting to build again.

"What about Morgan?"

"Drop him off at Loguetown under Smoker's command. He'll either prove himself a competent officer fast or he won't be our problem for very long."

Luffy and crew meanwhile set off on their new ship, The Going Merry, blissfully unaware of the increasing chaos that Mew had accidentally caused. Instead they looked forward towards tomorrow, Nami's list firmly in mind as they set off to find a cook, firmly in Nami and Usopp's minds at least, Luffy was playing with Mew on top of Merry's figurehead, while Zoro had taken one look around before finding a spot to nap.
