Chapter Five: The Remedy and a New Challenge

Rafiki had just finished making the remedy for everyone.

Rafiki: "Okay, everyone. Wake up." He called out, holding a half-split fruit filled with the healing concoction.

The Lion Guard and the baboon siblings slowly stirred from their nap.

Kion: "Mmm. Rafiki, is the remedy ready?" He yawned as he sat up.

Rafiki: "Yes." He nodded with a gentle smile.

One by one, they each took turns drinking from the fruit. Kion was the first, followed by Bunga, Fuli, Ono, Beshte, Bongo, Bobo, and lastly, little Asha. After finishing, they all looked to Rafiki for results.

Rafiki: "Well, how do you feel?" Hei asked, his eyes scanning them carefully.

Asha: "Achoo!" She let out a tiny sneeze, instinctively grabbed Fuli's tail for comfort.

Rafiki: "Hmm, still not good." He raised an eyebrow.

Asha: *baby voice* "Sorry, Fuli." She said, looking a bit embarrassed.

Fuli: "Ugh, it's okay." She gave a tired smile, despite being used to her tail being everyone's favorite.

Bunga: "Ha! I'm not the only one who uses your tail, Fuli." He chuckled, nudging Fuli.

Fuli: "Bunga!" She groaned, though her irritation was softened by the situation.

Bongo: "I thought we'd be feeling better by now." He rubbed his head in confusion.

Bobo: *sighs* "I guess we'll just have to wait and see." He added, sighing.

Suddenly, a distant cry echoed through the lair. "Help!"

Bongo: "Someone must be in trouble." He perked up, alarmed.

Bobo: "But the Lion Guard will be there to help. Right, Kion?" He nodded, turning to Kion.

Kion: *sniffles* "Bongo, Bobo, we're still recovering from our colds. And we all agreed to let our bodies heal until we get better." He shook his head, still sniffling.

Bongo: "But that doesn't mean you can't still help the animals." He looked up at him, determined.

Bobo: "Yeah, you can't let a cold keep you from protecting the Pride Lands." He agreed.

Just then, a deep voice spoke from the entrance.

Simba: "They're both right, Kion." He said.

Everyone turned, and there stood King Simba, majestic and calm.

Kion: "Dad?" He said, surprised.

Bongo and Bobo: *gasps* "It's King Simba!" They gasped in awe.

Asha: "Wow…" She whispered, wide-eyed.

Bunga: "Hello, your Highness." He grinned, always eager to show respect.

Bunga bowed dramatically.

Beshte: "Sir." He lowered his head respectfully.

Fuli and Ono: "Your Majesty." They followed suit, bowing.

Bongo, Bobo, and Asha, having never met Simba before, scrambled to bow politely.

Bongo, Bobo, and Asha: "Hello, your Majesty." They said together.

Simba: "Hello, you must be Bongo, Fuli's best friend." He smiled at them warmly.

Bongo: "Yes, I am." He puffed up with pride.

Simba: "And you are Bobo, Bongo's older twin brother." He nodded, turning to the other sibling.

Bobo: "That is correct, your Highness." He replied, standing a little straighter.

Simba: "And you must be Asha, their little sister." His gaze softened as he looked at the youngest.

Asha: *baby voice* "Nice to meet you, your Majesty." She said, her voice small and sweet.

Simba: "Now, Kion, as leader of the Lion Guard, it is your duty to lead your team to protect the Pride Lands, even though you're sick." He turned back to Kion, his tone now firm but gentle.

Kion: *exhales* "You're right, Dad. Come on, Lion Guard, let's go." He took a deep breath, realizing his father was right.

Bongo: "Can we come with you?" He asked eagerly, his eyes bright with excitement.

Bobo: "We've been practicing the training you taught us." He added confidently.

Kion: "Okay, you can come." He considered it for a moment, then nodded.

Bobo: "Rafiki, can you take care of Asha for us?" He turned to Rafiki.

Rafiki: "Of course I will." He smiled and nodded.

Bongo: "Thank you, Rafiki." Bongo said, grateful.

Kion: "Alright, let's go. Till the Pride Lands' end!" He stepped forward, his voice strong.

Bunga, Fuli, Ono, and Beshte: "Lion Guard defend!" They joined in unison, standing tall despite their colds.

With determination, the Lion Guard and the baboon twins raced toward the trouble ahead.
