Hello readers! I am bring with me chapter 7 of All In.

Last chapter we saw Junpei's battle against Grant to obtain the Cliff Badge! In that battle Grant's Tyrunt evolved into Tyrantrum, and Junpei's Deino evolved into Zweilous. Unfortunately, Zweilous couldn't get the job done and fell to Grant's Tyrantrum. Riolu pulled through to get the win for Junpei, earning him the Cliff Badge.

Now we will see Jerry's battle against Grant!

NEXT DAY AFTER JUNPEI'S BATTLE WITH GRANT

JERRY POV

I entered the gym with a smile on my face, ready to crush this boulder in my way. It was bad enough that I had to wait an extra day for my gym battle. Junpei and Grant's battle was seriously intense though!

"Hey Jerry!" I heard Grant call out to me, "You remember this wall right?" He said while gesturing to the rock climbing wall challengers had to climb to get to the battlefield.

"Ah shit." I sighed, but I welcomed the challenge to test my resolve...again. As I steeled myself for the climb, Junpei and Serena walked by me to the elevator, "Oh come on Grant!" I shot him a glare. "Well, Junpei proved himself in the fight and earned his right to ride the elevator."

I simply rolled my eyes at that, and started my ascent to the top. Grant quickly overtook me, demonstrating his superior rock climbing abilities. My mind cleared as I was hit by the light breeze from the open ceiling of the gym.

Halfway up the daunting cliff face, muscles burning and palms sweaty, I couldn't help but reflect on my first grueling climb the day before. It had been a challenge that tested more than my physical strength; it pushed my mental resilience to its limits. Yet here I was, doing it again, but this time, it felt different, less like a daunting obstacle and more like just another step towards my goal.

"Hey, Jerry, you sure you're ready to follow up my performance?" Junpei called down from the elevator, his voice echoing against the rocks with a teasing lilt. I could hear the smirk on his lips.

I paused, catching my breath and looking up to lock eyes with him. A bright smile cracked across my face. "Watch me, Junpei. If you think your battle was something, just wait for mine. I'm not just climbing this wall; I'm going to smash through every expectation."

Grant, hearing the exchange, chuckled from above. "That's the spirit, Jerry! You've got the heart of a climber, always reaching higher!"

As I resumed my climb, every pull and reach felt more determined. The physical strain was still there, but my mind was clearer, driven by a fiery determination. This wasn't just about getting to the top anymore; it was about proving to myself that I could face this challenge head-on and conquer it, just as I planned to conquer the battle ahead.

Reaching the summit, I pulled myself over the ledge and stood up, taking a deep breath of the crisp air. The view from the top wasn't just a reward for my climb; it was a reminder of the heights I could reach with perseverance.

As I walked towards Grant, who was already waiting by the battlefield, the rocky terrain beneath my feet felt like the path to my aspirations, each step firm and purposeful. "Ready when you are, Grant. Let's make this a battle to remember."

Grant nodded, his expression serious yet encouraging.

Curious but undeterred, I took my place, facing the arena with a newfound resolve shining in my eyes. Today wasn't just another day; it was my day to shine, to show that the climb was worth it and that I was more than ready for whatever challenges lay ahead.

"If I may ask, how will this work? I only have two pokemon right now." I said, slightly confused, 'Man I really have to catch some more pokemon. Only two by the 2nd gym, I am behind.' I thought to myself.

"Two on two it is then!" Grant declared.

I took Shelgon's pokeball in my hand and stared at it for a moment, the reflection of my face showing on the red surface. I whispered to myself shallowly, "Oh Shelgon, will you please help me today, I really need you."

What kind of trainer am I that I can't even get Shelgon to obey me, I knew the risks of a powerful pokemon like Shelgon, but maybe I overestimated my own abilities to connect with my pokemon...

I shook my head quickly, warding off my negative thoughts. This was no time to be down, which in turn could end up affecting my performance. I just have to focus on the battle, I'll deal with Shelgon when it comes to that.

"Gloom, lets go!" I called out my trusty starter pokemon, ready to face whatever pokemon Grant would throw at me first.

"Onix lets go!" Grant shouted as he let go of his pokeball, spinning as it let out a blue light which took form of a long and very tall pokemon which was Onix. Onix let out a fierce cry that shook the rocks on the battlefield.

"The battle between Grant, the Cyllage City gym leader, and Jerry, the challenger from the Johto region, is about to begin. Each side will use 2 pokemon, the battle is over when all of one sides pokemon is unable to battle. Only the challenger will be allowed to substitute pokemon. Battle begin!"

"Onix Flash Cannon go!" Grant ordered, as Onix shot out the attack towards Gloom. "Gloom dodge it" She swiftly evaded the attack by jumping, "Great job now use Sweet Scent!"

Gloom leaned forward dispersing a pink dust that quickly formed around Onix. Onix became very relaxed, lowering it's guard. "Gloom use Growth then Absorb!" Gloom started to channel power into her figure, then releasing a glowing orb that floated towards Onix. It made contact with the dazed Onix and siphoned off some energy off Onix who cried out in pain.

"Yes! That'll really cause some damage!" I said to myself

"Onix will you get a hold of yourself?!" Onix made a grunt, shaking its head free of the Sweet Scent.

"Good! Now use Iron Tail!" Onix winded up it's tail and made a direct hit on Gloom. Gloom was knocked back towards me as I gritted my teeth, Onix really hit hard. I glanced toward the sky as I saw the sun was covered by a few clouds. "Just have to buy a little time thats all..." I waited for my strategy to fall into motion.

"Lets try Growth once more Gloom!" Gloom responded to my command and channeled her energy upping her attack power. "Upping stats are we? Rock Polish!" Grant countered, as Onix began to glow white, polishing it's own rocky skin.

"Onix move in close and Iron Tail again!"

"Hop on Onix Gloom!" Gloom climbed on top of Onix after the missed Iron Tail. "Shake it off Onix!" Onix whipped its body around rapidly in an effort to throw Gloom off to no avail. "Now Gloom use Acid to obstruct Onix's vision!" Gloom shot out two purple bursts of heavy liquid that burnt Onix's vision, impairing it.

The purple substance covered Onix's eyes and made Onix go wild. "Onix you need to stay calm!"

"Finish this with absorb Gloom!" Gloom's green orb floated towards Onix and took his energy and gave it to Gloom. Onix fell with a thud with swirls in its acid covered eyes.

"Onix is unable to battle, Gloom wins!" The referee announced

"That was amazing Onix as always, take a good rest."

"Very impressive Jerry, I like what I have seen from you thus far, but can you keep it up?"

"Tyrantrum, lets go!"

The colossal ancient pokemon made it's appearance, I opted to switch out Gloom as I returned her and let out Shelgon who seemed uninterested already.

"Shelgon will you please battle, this is a gym battle pleaseee!" I begged hoping Shelgon would make an exception and help me out.

I guess my pleas fell on deaf ears as Shelgon didn't so much as flinch to my voice.

"Well if you won't attack we will. Tyrantrum, use Crunch!" Tyrantrum charged in and clamped his jaws down on Shelgon's shell. "Shelgon use Dragon Breath" much to my surprise, he did use Dragon Breath!

Tyrantrum was blasted with the fiery attack and released Shelgon from it's jaws being blasted backwards in the process. "Yes! Way to go Shelgon!" I said jumping up and down.

Grant grunted in frustration, "Use Dragon Tail!" Tyrantrum charged up it's tail as it approached Shelgon.

"Shelgon lets use Dragon Breath once more" I threw my arm out for dramatic effect, but I just ended up looking stupid since Shelgon didn't move. Shelgon opted instead to bite the Dragon Tail which gave damage to both Shelgon and Tyrantrum.

"Tyrantrum use Draco Meteor!"

Why would Grant do that? Tyrantrum is too close in proximity to Shelgon. The Draco Meteor fired off and broke apart, descending on the battlefield. "Now Tyrantrum, use Shelgon as a shield."

Shelgon was quickly bombarded by the Draco Meteor, he fell to the ground seconds later knocked out.

"Shelgon is unable to battle, Tyrantrum wins!"

"Thanks for listening, even if it was just one time Shelgon." I smiled as I returned Shelgon hoping to talk to him later.

"Gloom, lets go!" I released Gloom once more.

"Finish this quickly Tyrantrum, Dragon Tail!"

"Use Absorb Gloom" Gloom tried to use absorb, but it was just deflected by Dragon Tail resulting in Gloom being hit hard.

Gloom cried out in pain as it attempted to get up.

"Can you keep going Gloom?" Gloom nodded her head, signaling to me it was alright.

"Crunch lets go!" Grant called out as Tyrantrum began closing in. At that moment, I felt the sun hit my face, I smirked as Gloom felt it too. Gloom's ability Chlorophyll has now activated, increasing her speed.

"What!" Grant shouted in frustration as Gloom began looping around Tyrantrum at great speeds.

She easily was out of the way of the aggressive Tyrantrum, "Use absorb!" The little green orb was also faster as it was taking energy from Tyrantrum in no time which caused plenty of damage and granted strength back to Gloom.

"Jump high and smash the ground Tyrantrum!" Tyrantrum immediately jumped, soaring high in the air. Combined with Tyrantrum's momentum and weight landing on the battlefield, the whole platform we were standing shook, and even I almost lost balance. Gloom was knocked high into the air as Grant prepared for his final move.

"Dragon Tail!" Tyrantrum jumped, ready to strike Gloom. "Use your stench Gloom!" Gloom released the putrid odor, Tyrantrum's Dragon Tail was stopped dead in it's tracks.

Tyrantrum's eyes went wide and his eyes started watering as his attack halted. "Now Gloom! Use Acid!" Gloom fired the acidic purple liquid and scored a direct hit on Tyrantrum's chest, pushing him all the way back down onto the battlefield and the impact caused a massive crater. Tyrantrum had swirls in it's eyes as the referee gave the declaration.

"Tyrantrum is unable to battle, which means that the victory goes to Jerry of the Johto region." I was so happy to hear those words!

"Gloom we did it girl!" Gloom was still emitting her smell, but I didn't care!

"Amazing fighting Tyrantrum wow!" Grant cheered his pokemon.

"And you Jerry, you were exceptional. What a battle that was!"

"Really? Thanks Grant I appreciate it, it means a lot."

The referee approached us with a case, "This here is proof of your victory at the Cyllage City gym. The Cliff Badge. I hope you carry this with pride and joy, it shows the great heights that a trainer can ascend to!"

"Yes! I got the Cliff Badge!" Myself and Gloom both jumped in unison as I held my newest badge high.

"Cringe. You think you're in an anime or something?" Junpei chirped from behind me.

"Sorry haha I'm just a little excited."

"The way you're acting, you would think you won the Kalos League not the against the 2nd gym..."

"Congratulations Jerry!" Serena said as she stepped on Junpei's foot while she gave a warm smile to me.

"Ow."

So sorry for the lack of updates as of late, I just have so much going on with college right now and just have no time to make new chapters. I will try my best going forward, but as of right now thats where it stands. Next update will probably be around Thanksgiving possibly. If not then, sadly it will have to wait until late December. Winter break is where I will write a majority of chapters so yall can look forward to that!

As always pleaseeee let me know what you guys are thinking of the battles. I enjoy writing them and want to know if yall are too cause I aim to please you guys! Really excited for what the future holds for this story. I AM NOT DROPPING IT. I will hold myself to finishing this hopefully.

Junpei's Party

Zweilous (Male) - Tackle, Take Down, Bite, Dragon Rush

Ability: Hustle

Junpei's main pokemon, the one thats been with him from the beginning.

Rufflet (Male) - Wing Attack, Peck, Aerial Ace, Slash

Ability: Sheer Force

Junpei hopes to evolve it into a battle ready Braviary to dominate the skies.

Riolu (Female) - Quick Attack, Vaccuum Wave, Counter, Work Up

Ability: Steadfast

Junpei's newest addition to the team, he believes she has enough potential to even surpass Hydreigon in terms of power.

Jerry's Party

Gloom (Female) - Growth, Acid, Absorb, Sweet Scent

Ability: Chlorophyll

Shelgon (Male) - Dragon Breath, Bite, Headbutt

Ability: Rock Head
