Chapter 12 A Resolved Misunderstanding 2
[Hyuuga compound]
Neji's shoulders sagged as he returned to the Hyuuga compound, exhausted, with Sakura by his side. Thanks to Akamaru's assistance, they had made it back without the Hyuuga needing to attempt the taxing space-time jutsu.
Inside his quarters, everything had been neatly restored to order by his retainers, now stood immaculate. The bouquet he had bought for Sakura stood out on the kitchen counter, a splash of color in the room.
"Do you like the bouquet?" he asked softly.
Sakura glanced at it but shook her head, concern lining her face. "Neji, there's a time for flowers, and then there's now. Let's get you cleaned up first," she said gently but firmly, unable to suppress a smile at his calm demeanor even in his current state.
Supporting his body with care, she led him straight to the bathroom. She turned on the shower, adjusting it until steam rose from the hot water filling the porcelain tub.
Neji caught her hand and placed it on his waistband with a knowing smile. "Isn't this what you wanted to do to me that night at the hot springs?"
And damn it, he was right! Sakura couldn't help but blush at his accuracy. Memories flooded back, and she grinned. "Guess you've got me there," she admitted.
"Then you shouldn't be shy anymore," he encouraged warmly.
Their playful banter made everything feel oddly comforting.
Despite her blush, Sakura wasn't deterred by his honesty. She helped Neji out of his clothes and into the tub, her touch tender and caring—something reserved just for him. Neji leaned back in the water, eyes half-closed as the warmth relaxed his muscles. There was deeply intimate about her caring for him this way. Even exhausted, his sharp white eyes held hers steadily.
"Are you comfortable?" Sakura asked softly, pouring warm water over his hair, letting the suds cascade down his back.
"Thank you," Neji murmured, appreciation evident in his voice. "This means more than you know."
She smiled, hands moving with soothing intent as she washed him. "It's my pleasure."
The droplets glistened on his skin, highlighting every graceful line of Hyuuga Neji. His body was nothing short of a masterpiece!
Though they'd been intimate a few times over the past week, bathing this beautiful man like this still stirred emotions in her that were both comforting and thrilling. She could hardly keep her hand off him!
Her fingers roamed with practiced ease over his lean frame, from his strong shoulders to the ripple of muscles along his abdomen. Her hands wandered down to the trail of dark hair leading to his groin as she washed him there.
As she continued to wash him, Neji's calm demeanor shifted slightly. The moment escalated when he pulled her into the bathtub with him. Water sloshing out in a dramatic wave, drenching the ornate tiles below.
"N-Neji!" she yelped, clinging tightly to his broad shoulders. The Hyuuga wrapped his strong arms around her waist. "Look at this mess!"
He nuzzled against her neck affectionately and murmured against her skin. "Is it wrong to want you close, Sakura?"
"Don't be naughty," she reprimanded, tapping his nose affectionately but keeping a watchful eye on him. "You need your rest, mister."
"But if you keep washing me there…" His hand guided hers under the water to where he was getting harder by the moment. "I'm too exhausted to do anything right now, but if you're up for more... I wouldn't mind," he teased.
Sakura felt his erection growing beneath her palm, pulsing even. Caught off guard by both sentiment and sensation, her face turned a deeper shade of red. Quickly, she suggested, "Oh! Let's get you dried off and into bed before you catch a cold!"
"You worry too much! Now I feel like giving you a bath."
Sakura rolled her eyes, though a smile tugged at her lips. "Fine! But if you catch another cold from this—"
"Then you'll just have to nurse me back to health again," he interjected smoothly.
Sakura sighed, affection in her tone. "You always manage to twist things your way." She splashed him with water, laughing as she joined in.
Since their heartfelt confessions by the lake, their relationship had taken on a vibrant new life.
The once-reserved Hyuuga now showed a witty and lively side Sakura never knew existed. She found herself laughing at his clever quips one minute and blushing the next. It was both thrilling and a bit overwhelming! She wondered if her heart might burst from all he made her feel.
Sakura cupped his face in her hands, gazing into his pale eyes as she leaned in to plant a soft kiss on his lips.
Despite feeling weary, Neji was determined not to be outdone. With deliberate care, he began washing her pink tresses before methodically tending to every curve and line of her body—completing what had been left undone during their last bath together. He wanted nothing more than to pamper her wholeheartedly.
"You spoil me," she murmured into the comfortable silence.
"Only because you deserve it."
They exchanged tender smiles as they finished bathing each other, cherishing these simple yet intimate moments together. Act like acts these reminded Sakura why she had fallen for Neji, that he was attentive and caring.
Later, Sakura stepped out of the tub and wrapped herself in a towel, tidying up the bathroom as she did so. Neji watched her with fond eyes from where he lounged sleepily in the tub.
After drying off, they dressed comfortably in his pajamas and settled into bed together under the soft sheets.
"Thank you for taking care of me."
"Always," Sakura replied with a warm, reassuring smile. Their lips met naturally, his tongue brushing against hers in a gentle, languid kiss that felt sincere and unhurried.
"I'm just going to… rest a bit," Neji said drowsily, drawing her closer as if wanting to keep her near.
Sakura gently ran her fingers through his long hair. "Rest now. I'm not going anywhere. I'll be right here when you wake."
After a moment's pause, Neji whispered, "Haruno Sakura, would you be my girlfriend?"
A bright smile spread across her face as she quipped between adoring pecks, "I thought you'd never ask. I'd love to!"
"Goodnight, my Sakura," he said softly, placing a kiss on her forehead.
"Goodnight, my Neji," she whispered back as she watched over him.
Neji's lips curved into a smile as his white eyes fluttered shut, his breath soon deepening into the steady rhythm of sleep. Smiling softly, Sakura wrapped an arm around him protectively, he looked so peaceful in his slumber.
A sudden knock at the sliding door interrupted the quiet moment. Carefully slipping out of bed, Sakura answered it to find Hinata standing there. A blush rose to her cheeks when her friend noticed she was wearing one of Neji's nightshirts—an observation that brought an amused twinkle to her white eyes. Hinata nodded approvingly, silently affirming that her cousin was in safe hands with the pink-haired medic by his side.
[Midnight in Neji's Quarters]
In the quiet stillness of midnight, Neji turned towards Sakura, feeling a sense of peace and contentment as he watched her sleep. Her hair fanned out over the pillow like a golden halo, and he couldn't help but admire how beautiful she looked. There was something incredibly comforting about being near her.
They had returned home late, and he had deliberately kept his distance from her. His gaze lingered on her, an undeniable urge surged through him. This wasn't just a physical craving; it was an inevitable pull toward the woman who meant everything to him.
Neji eased himself further down the bed, he parting her legs and positioning himself between them and he showered her with his mouth. Softly at first, his tongue tracing paths of warmth that made her pulse quicken even in sleep, then with increasing intensity as he dedicated himself wholly to her pleasure.
Nearly half an hour, Sakura gradually awoke with a soft moan escaping from parted lips. Still half-dreaming, she blinked sleepily down to find Neji there—his eyes closed in concentration as he adored her with devoted fervor. His tongue danced with deliberate care over every sensitive spot he knew by heart, again and again, as waves of ecstasy built steadily within her.
A sleepy smile curved on her lips as she surrendered completely to the delicious feelings her man was creating just for her. "N-Neji… W-What are you doing?"
Neji glanced up briefly. "Just taking care of my girl," he said, then went right back to his task.
"Y-You're… you're driving me crazy," she murmured, her fingers tangling in his hair as if trying to anchor herself amidst the storm of feelings.
Neji paused briefly to ask with mock innocence, "Would you like me to stop?"
Her response was immediate and breathless. "N-No! Don't stop—please..."
He chuckled softly. "Mission accomplished then."
"D-Do you—ever think about anything else besides... this?"
"Not when I'm with you like this," he quipped smoothly. "Especially not after you stormed into my quarters and took charge that night."
Sakura blushed at the memory. "W-When did you become such an… expert?"
"Since I realized making you laugh is almost as rewarding as this," he replied without missing a beat.
"A-Almost—?" she challenged him through labored breaths.
"Well," he mused before diving back down for emphasis, "almost." Her body responded eagerly to his ministrations, humming with pleasure as he expertly used both tongue and fingers.
Sakura couldn't help but marvel at this new side of Neji, a mix of absurdity and devotion. She only hoped her heart could keep up with the whirlwind of excitement the man brought into her life. She arched into his touch, fingers clenching the sheets tightly beneath them.
"Neji… if you keep this up, I'm going to—"
"Good," he coaxed gently yet commandingly, pumping his hand at a pace that drove her wild. "Let go for me... now."
At his words, Sakura cried out his name in blissful release. She lay back against the pillows, trying to catch her breath. "W-What am I going to do with you, Neji?" she murmured fondly.
Neji planting a kiss on her inner thigh before wiping his mouth clean. He moved beside her and propped himself up on an elbow, contentedly watching over her.
"How about making love to me?"
Sakura's heart fluttered at his bold invitation. Their chemistry was undeniable, and every moment with him was a thrilling dance of emotions. She could feel his excitement even through his pants that separated them. But despite of how much she wanted him, she knew they needed to slow down.
"As tempting as that sounds, we need to prioritize on your health first," she said softly, resting her hands on his chest to calm him down.
"I feel fine."
"You almost collapsed from exhaustion last night," she reminded him firmly. "I think we need to set some boundaries."
His eyebrow arched. "Boundaries? Like not waking you up in the middle of the night like this?"
"Exactly like that!" She laughed softly but held her ground. "Too much of… this and you're going to burn out!"
"I can't guarantee that every night will be boundary-friendly!" He teased, kissing the tip of her nose affectionately.
"I'm serious, Neji," she said earnestly, meeting his gaze. "You had a serious headache earlier, I'm worried..."
He softened at her concern, voice thick with emotion as he replied, "Every ache, every trembling muscle... it's a reminder of you—of us."
Sakura's emerald eyes traced the contours of his handsome face while her fingers caressed his jawline gently. The fatigue she'd seen in his eyes earlier had been replaced by an energized glow. Her gaze shifted to his lips—soft, smooth, and incredibly kissable. But she had other intentions for this moment.
Misunderstandings had stood between them for too long, casting shadows over what could be something beautiful. Tonight felt different; there was a clarity in the air—a gentle promise of understanding better what lay between them.
Sakura looked at him intently, searching for something genuine behind those deep eyes. Neji recognized it—a look calling for honesty and patience. He steeled himself to behave, ready himself to deliver just that.
"Ask me anything, and I'll tell you."
"So, when did you first start noticing me... and loving me?" Sakura asked, her tone a mix of curiosity and insistence.
Neji smirked, "Are you sure you're ready for that?"
"Absolutely. I want to hear it all," Sakura replied eagerly, her eyes sparkling with anticipation, her curiosity bubbling over.
Neji studied her face for a moment, searching his mind for the perfect starting point. A grin spread across his face as a memory surfaced.
"Alright then," he chuckled, "but don't say I didn't warn you."
Sakura scooted closer, hanging on every word as he began slowly, "It all started at the public bathhouse. Remember you slipped on the wet floor and landed right on top of me? We were practically tangled in towels. I couldn't believe it."
"Oh god, I thought you'd want to forget that forever!" Sakura's face turned red as she burst into laughter. "You pushed me off faster than you should have!"
Neji laughed along with her. "Because you seemed mortified. I thought you'd never speak to me again after that." Their laughter subsided and Sakura wiped tears from her eyes. "And do you remember that night in the rain?"
"You mean when I found you training alone like some kind of madman?" she teased.
Neji's grin widened at the memory. "You decided to join in and we sparred until we were both too exhausted to move. You knocked me flat more times than I care to admit," Neji admitted with a chuckle. "And you stood over me with that triumphant look."
"And then I offered my hand to pull you up, only for you to drag me down into the mud with you!"
"You fought fiercely that night," Neji said earnestly. "That's when I started seeing you differently."
Sakura smiled warmly at him, her eyes twinkling with nostalgia.
"And later, when we started hanging out at team gatherings, we talked more outside of missions," Neji reminisced with a smile. "We'd go on for hours—about life goals, worst fears, favorite restaurant. You name it. You mentioned something simple yet profound during one of those conversations. That's when I knew I could be myself around you."
Sakura chuckled softly. "I have a knack for getting even the stoic Hyuuga to open up!"
"It wasn't until that night after the third wave of battles, after carrying you back to the tent for the first time, something clicked for me."
"You did? Wait, I slept through all that?"
Neji chuckled lightly. "Completely out," he confirmed. "Right after that, everything went sideways—another attack hit us hard. You disappeared in the chaos, and I was desperate, tearing through the battlefield to find you."
"Sasuke got to me first," she recalled, her voice tinged with mixed feelings.
"He did," he affirmed gently.
"But you were always there, weren't you? Always keeping an eye on me…" Sakura said, a newfound clarity lighting up her eyes as she met his gaze. "I guess I was just too caught up in everything else to see what was right in front of me."
That moment had been pivotal—it was when she decided to start anew with Sasuke. It often felt like fate enjoyed meddling with her heart.
"Back then, it wasn't something you needed to know. I just wanted to make sure you were safe and happy. That's when I realized how much I cared about you—not just as a comrade," Neji confessed.
Sakura listened closely as his words painted pictures of their past.
"And then there was that look on your face when I... when I sacrificed myself during the war…" His voice trailed off.
Sakura's expression turned serious at the memory. "Don't remind me! I was furious at how selfless you were—you didn't even hesitate!"
"Did I ever mention how adorable you are when you're furious?" Neji teased gently.
Sakura playfully swatted his chest but quickly softened her touch, careful not to actually hurt him—her punches could be lethal.
"It's not funny!" she huffed, "I'm still upset thinking about it." She paused and urging him on, "So when did it turn into love?"
"Remember those days during my rehabilitation?" he asked.
"Of course I do. I was there with you every step of the way," she replied.
"Those days, hearing your voice kept me going. Your visits meant everything to me. But whenever you talked about Uchiha... something inside me twisted. I thought it was just my competitive nature—a Hyuuga thing," he chuckled softly.
The kunoichi listened intently, her breath catching as she realized Neji had been carrying these feelings all along.
"I thought I was just jealous. Not of him—of what he had with you. By the time rehab ended, I understood that it wasn't just admiration I felt for you—I had fallen in love with you."
Sakura's heart fluttered at his confessions. Each moment vividly recounted by Neji himself, how his feelings had grown over time. It wasn't just one big revelation—it was all these little moments building up. His voice, a comfort melody, pouring out his heart in a tenderly bittersweet way.
Sakura leaned in and captured his lips in a kiss that conveyed more than words ever could. She pulled back slightly, frowning as she remembered something. "Is that why you went along with that marriage arrangement?"
Neji gave a slow nod, his gaze steady on hers. "Seeing you with him, or just imagining it, felt like there was this invisible thread tying you to him. Letting go of my feelings seemed easier than making things complicated. It wasn't easy," he admitted. "I buried myself in duty and honor, telling myself those things mattered more than what my heart wanted."
Sakura nodded slowly, pieces finally falling into place, clearing the fog around their hearts.
"Neji, there's something I need to say." His eyes met hers, encouraging her to go on. "Sasuke and I tried to start over, but we drifted apart after a year. At first, I thought he was everything I wanted. But over time... just being around you taught me to see things differently. There's something about being with you… It feels like coming home. Sasuke will always be a part of my past... but he's not the one I want in my future."
"You can't imagine how long I've waited to hear that," Neji replied, a mix of disbelief and hope lighting up his white eyes.
Sakura hesitated, revealing a shadow she needed to clear away. "I was at the engagement party… I saw that kiss... you with the Otsutsuki heiress.
Neji winced inwardly, recalling the clan event and that unwanted kiss. He saw the hurt in her eyes and wished he could undo it. "That night...," he explained sincerely, "was nothing but a political spectacle set up by our clans to form alliances. That kiss—it meant nothing," he tried a faint smile to lighten her mood. "But look, at least it finally got your attention."
"Don't joke about this, Neji," Sakura said softly, the pain still fresh in her expression.
"I'm sorry you had to see that. That kiss wasn't real. But my feelings for you always have been genuine. Don't compare yourself to anyone else or overthink it. I've always wanted you and only you." He paused, searching her eyes for understanding. "Is that why you left Konoha two years ago?"
Sakura nodded, the truth hanging between them like a charged current. Slowly, she reached out, her hand finding his as if it was always meant to be there.
Moved by his words, Sakura felt tears welling up, not from sorrow but sheer happiness. "Neji… all this time… why didn't we say anything?"
Neji gently wiped away her tears with his thumb. "Sometimes words aren't enough," he responded gently, squeezing her hand in reassurance. "But now they are."
It was a comforting silence, one filled with understanding and gratitude for the second chance they'd been given.
"You know," Neji began, glancing around at the cozy chaos of their shared bed, "I never thought I'd end up here with you. In bed like this."
"Thank you for sharing everything with me," Sakura replied, her heart full.
He leaned closer to whisper in her ear. "Got all the answers you were looking for? Or do you need me to share a few more secrets?"
"I might need a few more secrets," she said lightly, pretending to ponder over it.
He nibbled gently at her earlobe in response, "Let's just say my right hand has been pulling some serious overtime since you walked back into my life," he confessed with a wink. "Consider it proof of how much I missed you."
Sakura giggled. It had been ages since she felt so carefree. "Oh, Kami-sama!" Sakura laughed heartily, unable to hide her delight at his confession, cheeks turning a rosy pink. "Are you serious?"
"Dead serious," Neji replied smoothly. "Take it as a compliment."
Emboldened by his words, Sakura took a deep breath and admitted, "Well then, you should know just how much I wanted to jump you that night when I was healing you on your couch," she said, biting her lip with sparkling eyes.
Neji's smirk broadened. "Oh, I knew," he replied with a knowing smile, "I was hoping you'd make your move."
Their laughter rang out together again—joyful and unrestrained—filling the room with lightness and love.
"How about we make up for lost time?" Neji murmured, their faces so close that their breaths mingled. His white eyes locked with her emerald ones, both charged with piercing intensity that electrified the space between them.
Sakura needed no further prompting. He had asked for her love, and she was ready—more than ready—to give it. She closed the distance between them, capturing his lips with hers.
The kiss started soft but quickly intensified, their tongues dancing in a rhythm of mutual discovery. It wasn't about dominance; it was about savoring every sensation, every spark that flared between them. Neji let her set the pace before matching her fervor with equal enthusiasm.
Sakura's hands roamed over his body with urgency, feeling every muscle beneath his shirt. As she continued her exploration without breaking their kiss, her fingers slipped inside his boxer briefs, feeling through his pubic hair before wrapping around him gently, feeling his firmness grow under her touch.
Neji groaned softly as pleasure rippled through him, each stroke bringing him to full arousal. He w murmured breathlessly into her ear with a playful urgency, "Need me naked now?"
Sakura nodded eagerly as they shed their clothes in a heap on the floor. From the nightstand drawer, Neji retrieved several boxes of family planning. "I may have overdone it at the pharmacy. You should've seen the cashier's face when I bought these, she probably thought I'm desperate."
Sakura laughed brightly, her eyes sparkling. "Looks like you've earned yourself a new reputation!"
Neji smirked and swept his long hair back with a smooth flick, tearing open a foil packet and rolling it down his length.
"Finally remembered something important, huh?" Sakura teased, her fingers tracing lovingly along his chest.
His expression shifted, vulnerability breaking through his usual confidence. "If only you were okay with wanting kids, even if they might bear the caged bird seal like me."
With their bodies pressed close, he glided his tip towards her entrance. Sakura gasped softly at the contact. He nudged aside her pink locks with his nose before kissing and nibbling gently along her neck.
"Neji," Sakura murmured, lifting his face to meet hers, her gaze sincere with understanding. "I'm here because I love you—all of you. You're more than any seal or mark could ever define. If we have kids someday... they'll know just how amazing their father is."
Neji's eyes softened as he listened, love practically glowing from him. "You'd like to have kids with me someday?"
Sakura was moved by an unexpected glimpse of his vulnerability. The usually stoic man finally let his guard down completely. Letting her see the man he was at heart—open, unafraid, and free from doubt.
Tears sparkled in Sakura's eyes as she nodded, laughing lightly through her emotion and replied, "Of course I do, you silly man."
After sharing a tender smile, Neji leaned in to kiss her deeply. He entered her slowly, joining their bodies. Sakura wrapped her arms around him, welcoming the intimacy while he continued to stretch her, filling her completely with love. Their breaths mingled in the shared heat of their lovemaking.
"Oh god," she moaned softly as he pulled out only to slide back in, doing it again and again, giving her time to get use to his size before he gradually pumped harder and deeper with unyielding thrusts. His burning love making showed no signs of slowing down.
Hyuuga Neji—perfection embodied. He moved with such precision that Sakura felt every inch of him profoundly. Each movement spoke a thousand words of love. His eyes, intense with affection. His rhythm, an exquisite blend graceful and relentless.
"Best sex of your life?" he asked with a rare, unguarded smile, clearly pleased with himself as he relaxed back onto his pillows.
Sakura lay wonderfully crumpled beside him, breathless and blissfully content. It was undeniably the most incredible sex she'd ever had—no contest.
"D-Definitely the best," she admitted, still basking in the afterglow of their passionate exchange. "You know… For someone so stoic, you're very expressive tonight."
"Is that a complaint?"
"Hardly," she replied with adoring eyes.
"So," Neji said, propping himself up on one elbow with a mischievous grin, "ready for another round?"
Sakura squinted at the alarm clock, its glowing digits announcing the ungodly hour. "You do realize it's 4 AM, right?" she replied, giving him a gentle shove. "Aren't you tired?"
"Four in the morning is prime time, Sakura! I'm just getting started."
Any normal person would be spent by now, but Neji seemed only more invigorated. Maybe it was a trait common to Gai's team. Sakura was delightfully exhausted and sore, yet she loved every second of it.
"You really are something else," she giggled, rolling over onto her stomach and draping herself across him for a lingering kiss as she stroked him in preparation for another round. Upon glancing at his member she found it was started to erect again. Kami-sama. Did it even go limp?
"Though I have to say... I think you can do better!"
"Better than my best?" Neji flipped them over with ease and pinned her beneath him, nearly sending them both toppling off the bed in their playful scuffle. "Let's not sleep at all," he suggested. And with that, he captured her mouth in another passionate kiss.
"I could get used to mornings like this," Sakura giggled against his lips; her body already trembling with anticipation.
Their banter was light-hearted and teasing, yet underneath lay years of unspoken love that brought them back together both physically and emotionally.
The air in the room was thick with the scents of sex and sweat, as they made love through the quiet hours of early morning. The rhythmic sound of their love echoed softly through his sleeping quarters again and again. As they reached their climax together, they held each other tightly, perfectly entwined.
They had made love from midnight until dawn, until the sleepy orgasm glow took them. The couple nuzzled into each other before sleep finally claimed them.
[The next day morning]
Neji awoke as the sun rise over the horizon. He lay beside Sakura, their newfound romance still fresh yet deeply comforting. Her body was snuggled up next to his in a warm embrace, her arm draped around his torso, and her leg resting over his own. He gently stroked her pink hair, careful not to wake her.
But soon enough, Sakura's emerald eyes opened as she awoke next to her man—the most beautiful man on earth. What a sight to wake up to! Bathed in the morning light, his undeniable handsomeness was accentuated. His hair was adorably disheveled, and she was sure hers looked the same. His usually white eyes seemed an ethereal shade of lilac today. She could spend all day just staring at him!
They lay entwined in the rumpled sheets, a testament to their torrid lovemaking earlier this morning. Being with the Hyuuga prodigy was enticing—they could be bantering, kissing, making love, or simply lying in silence.
"Good morning, handsome," she greeted with a loving smile. He returned her greeting with that breathtaking smile that sent warmth all the way to her toes.
"Good morning, beautiful," he replied softly, brushing her bottom lip lightly with his thumb.
Sakura sat up and slowly pulling the covers away, revealing more and more of Neji's impressive physique. His toned body was a sight to behold. White sheet stopped just past his waist, pooling around his groin, with his chiseled abs, narrow hips, and a hint of pubic hair on display. The rosy bite marks and nail scratches across his torso caught her attention. She was the one responsible for them!
"Admiring your handiwork?" Neji propped himself up on his elbows, giving her that signature charming smirk.
"Absolutely, I'm proud to mark you as mine!" Sakura giggled, feeling a gentle squeeze at her waist. "We should probably get up soon," she reminded him.
"I could spend all day in bed with you." His lips dusted her and she smiled goofily at him.
"I know," she said with feigned regret, "but we do have a check-up appointment today."
Neji blinked with a little frown as she pressed her thumb on his forehead, smoothing the furrows in his brow.
"Fine..." he conceded. Reluctantly disentangling himself from the pink-haired kunoichi. They both knew they needed to start their day; it was their first outing as a couple after all, and a morning shower was in order.
Neji tossed the covers aside and stood up naked, then scooped Sakura into his arms, wrapping her legs around his waist. She immediately planted a kiss on his lips as he carried her to the bathroom. What was meant to be a quick kiss turned into something deeper—so much so that it made him consider turning back to their warm bed again.
