"Damnit…why now?" Cobra put his hands on the back of his head and looked down at the ground, sighing. Of course, Mirajane would be there, right at this moment. There was no energy left within him to even consider what she wanted, let alone explain what he along with Macbeth were doing there even earlier than usual. "Change of plans, let's just swing around so that we don't have to deal with-" He glanced to his left, then his right. Then he craned his neck behind him. Not ten seconds ago Macbeth stood just beside him, but now he was completely gone. Confused, Cobra found himself turning around in a circle, but not a trace of his guildmate was to be found. For a moment, he feared the worst, that something related to the woman a few days ago, or the store owner herself, or even the mysterious man of that first day had caused Macbeth to vanish. Then he took another second to consider and narrowed his eye in annoyance.
"Save the disappearing for emergencies please."
The light wavered to the side of him like a misplaced mirage. If he hadn't been paying close attention he wouldn't have noticed at all. "It wouldn't be a secret investigation if people could see me." It was like the wind was whispering in his ear. "We need to be careful now that we're so close."
"Why? There's no one here this early." Well, except for the love terror, but…Cobra paused and stared back at the figure in the distance. The only figure around, period, as far as he saw and heard. He hummed in contemplation.
"Listen, I agree. I think we should go around the other side for a bit, then we can–" Macbeth's hurried tone was cut off by a sudden, sharp note that pierced the air. The light where he stood shimmered and Cobra could picture a grimace growing on the reflector mage's face. Mirajane, naturally, turned her head to glance towards the sound. Her mouth opened in surprise, and she began to walk towards them.
"I thought you said you didn't want to deal with her!" Macbeth hissed, his voice tinged with nervousness per Cobra's prediction…and glee.
"I can change my mind," he replied, already relishing in what he was about to do.
