Jenny looked around for the white rabbit, but she saw nobody. While doing that, she checked to see if any of the doors opened. But all of them were locked. However, there was a tiny one at the end of the hall, but it was locked too. "How will I open any of the doors?" Jenny asked herself. She stood up to find a glass table with a gold key resting on top. "How did that table get here? I don't remember seeing it when I walked in here…" said Jenny.

She took the key off the table and tested it on the big doors. The key wouldn't open any of them. So, Jenny went back to the tiny door and tested it on it, and it worked! Behind the door was a garden, but Jenny was too big to go through it. Not even extending her hand through the door helped.

Jenny closed and locked the door and put the key back on the table, where she saw a bottle with a label. She picked up the bottle and read the label. "Drink me. I'm not so sure if it's safe, but I'll try it anyway," said Jenny. She took a sip of the juice, which tasted like cherry tart and roast turkey, and shrunk down. "Oh look! I must be shutting up like a telescope!" exclaimed Jenny, "I hope it stops soon or I'll go out like a candle flame!" Fortunately, the shrinking stopped.

"I'm small now, and I can go through the door now!" exclaimed Jenny, before she remembered something, "oh, right. I left the key on top of the table." So Jenny flew up to the top of the table and tried to get the key, but it was too heavy for her. Devastated, she flew down from the table and sat down in shame. "Now how will I get out of here?" she asked and started crying, "oh there's no use in crying!" Eventually, she turned around and found a cake and stood up again. She looked at the cake and it too, had a label on it.

"Eat me. I might as well," said Jenny. She took a bite out of the cake and started growing. "Curiouser and curiouser…" said Jenny, "I must be growing too much!" Jenny crouched to her knees to reduce the growing process. Jenny put her hands on her hand to protect her from hitting the ceiling. "Now I'm too big to get the key now…" said a saddened Jenny. She started crying again, flooding the room with her tears.

Suddenly, the white rabbit ran past her. "The white rabbit! Mr. Rabbit!" Jenny called, "Can you help me?" "Oh my! A giant! I must get out of here!" he said and continued on his way, leaving his fan and gloves behind. "He left his fan and gloves," said Jenny, as she tried to fan herself. While doing so, she started shrinking again and fell into the pool of her tears.

Along the way, she meets a mouse (XJ-5, one of Jenny's sisters) and other creatures who all get washed up on a river bank. "Who are you?" asked the mouse.
