Welcome again my friends. For the next set of Nintendo Characters, we'll be focusing on Fire Emblem. Following the pattern of including the Avatar of each Fire Emblem character, we'll be including the main protagonist of Fire Emblem Engage, the Avatar character, Alear the Divine Dragon. Also joining Alear will be their younger sibling, Veyle.

I got interested based on what I saw about the game in addition to it being a love letter to the Fire Emblem franchise due to past heroes appearing as Emblem Spirits. Thankfully, it doesn't take away from Engage's cast as while they have a major role, they're equals alongside the original cast of heroes while adding on to the game's lore and story. Despite them being dragons, they don't transform like Corrin and while Veyle's a spell caster, she'll play differently from Robin as she won't have Robin's Durability Mechanic.

Lastly, Alear will have both Male and Female variants like Robin, Corrin and Byleth before them.

So, how do these dragonic siblings find themselves in Smash? Let's find out now.

Alear

Origin: Fire Emblem Engage

Description: Alear is a Divine Dragon and The child of the Divine Dragon Monarch Lumera, Alear inherits their postion as the Divine Dragon. 1000 years prior to the events of Engage, Alear is said to have participated in the war against the Fell Dragon Sombron. In the aftermath of the war, they sustained heavy wounds and was put into a deep slumber. Housed in the Somniel, over a thousand years, the people of Elyos would worship Alear as the Divine Dragon. Reawakening after a thousand years of slumber, they discover that they have lost all memories of their past. After losing their mother Lumera, Alear journeys to collect the 13 Emblem Rings and unite the nations of Elyos and defeat the Corrupted led by the Fell Dragon Sombron.

Palutena's Guidance (Alear)

Pit: "Of course... another Fire Emblem warrior means another sword fighter."

Viridi: "You should show more respect to him/her!"

Pit: "How come? Is he/she a lord like Marth?"

Palutena: "Indeed he/she is! His/Her name is Alear, the Divine Dragon Monarch and child of the previous Divine Dragon Queen, Lumera."

"Plus, he/she is also the 13th Emblem Spirit, The Fire Emblem!"

Pit: "Wow! A Dragon and an Emblem!? That's quite a resume! Not even Corrin has that!"

Viridi: "Alear went through a lot of trails, including his/her lost lost sister Veyle. After freeing and saving her at the cost of his/her own life, he/she was revived as an Emblem by the 12 Emblem Spirits, who are based of other Fire Emblem Heroes, including the ones here in Smash."

Pit: "Whoa... that is a lot to take in. Wait! He/she won't turn into a fire breathing dragon, will he/she?"

Palutena: "Thankfully no... his/her Dragonstone is destroyed... thus he/she permanently lost the ability to become a dragon... but they make up for it with his/her Emblem powers. Alear is also quite a formidable sword fighter."

Viridi: "Alear fights similarly to Marth, but has his/her own unique abilities. Really, the only thing Alear has is Counter, but than again, with the exception of Robin, Corrin and Byleth, nearly everyone has a variation of Counter."

Palutena: "Just be mindful of Alear's Draconic Aura and Dragon Blast. Those moves will catch you off guard if you aren't careful!"

Palutena's Guidance (Veyle)

Pit: "..."

"Where did this cute girl come from?"

Palutena: "She may be as cute as a button, but she's not someone to take lightly. This is Veyle, the daughter of the Fell Dragon Sombron and sister of the Divine Dragon Monarch Alear."

Pit: "Wait what? Fell Dragon!? But she's so innocent!"

Viridi: "She is. She's very kind, but her old man Sombron didn't like thay and so he created an evil alter ego to posses Veyle to commit evil in her and his name."

"This other Veyle even went as far to kill Alear's mother Lumera and for a while, the true Veyle was tragically blamed for it until the truth was revealed."

Pit: "I hope they aren't fighting and know it wasn't her fault."

Palutena: "Thankfully Alear forgave Veyle and Veyle managed to destory her other persona permanently. Now, she fights to save the world alongside her sibling."

Pit: "I'm glad it all worked out! On that note, based on how she fights, I'm guessing she's like Robin."

Viridi: "Sort of... she fights with a Dagger instead of a sword... and she has tomes to cast magic... but there's no durability on them at all. In fact, due to half of her blood being Mage Dragon, she can even charge her spells up to make them stronger and more effective."

Pit: "Wow! Cute AND powerful!"

Palutena: "However, if you attack while she's charging, you can interrupt her and make her Fire her spell incorrectly. Excalibur is the sole exception and is better to reflect it with your Guardian Orbitars."

Pit: "Alright than! By the way, should she be wearing that blue ring here? Looks valuable?"

Viridi: "What!? No way..."

Palutena: "Guess Alear values family most of all over romance."

Viridi: "Aw man! Alear TOTALLY deserves Alfred or Ivy! Why the Family Route!?"

Pit: "Huh?"

And done! The Two Dragon Siblings have arrived in Smash!

Sorry it took a while. I needed good research material for Fire Emblem move sets and since Engage doesn't have a rep yet, why not?

Stick around for next time!
