The slayer exploration of the sewers continued as he was exploring it trying to find a trace or a way to track down the imp. Vega had said that he could track the imp with the Praetor Suit but he hadn't said anything since he started running through the sewers when the imp had fled from him.
"The Praetor Suit has a trace." Vega suddenly said causing the slayer to stop. "It has ascended and is somewhere north of our current location." The slayer cracked his knuckles as he then started to search for a way out through a grate or a end to the sewers into the open. The slayer then saw a grate, and he had jumped up to it and forced it open revealing it to now be morning and them in a alley. "We are now near the main street if I'm correct , and I suggest we get a high vantage point to avoid the crowds and easily locate the imp." Vega instructed the slayer, who ignored it thinking if the imp showed up there would be mass panic and he could locate the source.
The slayer walked out of alley and into the main street, seeing the street more crowded then the past few days he'd been here. "I do believe it would be better to follow my idea for tracking the imp, then looking for it on the streets." Vega said to the slayer, before both of them saw Bell walk to the Hostess of Fertility, talking to one of the cat workers there. "But I believe we should warn Bell about the imp and ask him what's happening today." Vega said to the slayer who then walked up to the boy.
"Greetings there Bell." Vega announced to Bell who quickly turned to face him with the waitress looking over to him as well.
"Oh, hello mister Vega, where did you go last night." Bell asked Vega who responded with. "Just went out to explore the city. Anyway what are you doing here Bell." Vega asked as the waitress spoke up at this.
"I just called him over, nyah, to give Syr, nyah, her purse, nyah." She said, causing Bell to ask, "I still have no idea what your talking about." He said, as another of the restaurant workers walked up holding a basket.
"You really need to work on your communication, Anya." She said monotonously then looked over to Bell. "I think you're confusing mister Cranel." The slayer got frustrated with the meandering of the conversation and then started to leave as the cat person started to say something to Bell.
The slayer walked through the bustling roads occasionally hearing stuff about the 'Monsterphilia' thing again. The slayer couldn't care less about a unimportant festival. "Argent trace located, two kilometres North." Vega abruptly said, and the slayer then made his way into an another alley to follow Vegas suggestion.
Freya sat on a veranda watching the masses go by, the celebration for monsterphilia now full swing as the amphitheater was now preparing to host the show. She thought of it as a bore, just adventurers taming the monsters for a crowd, and other divinity's surrounding themselves around her to look more important then they actually were. Freya then heard the voice of the one she wanted to meet here, as it grew louder as it made its way towards her. She then shifted her cloak around herself once more, her charm still effecting the people as all stared at her or sported a blush.
Freya then saw Loki enter the veranda followed by the famed 'sword princess' of her familia, who wore a emotionless expression on her face but averted her gaze by looking out of to the streets. "Loki, good to see you are here." Freya said as Loki took her seat.
"It has been a while since we have been able to have an actual one on one, Freya." Loki said as she picked up the glass that Freya had ordered for the both of them.
"Yes it has." Freya simply replied as she placed her glass on the table.
"But I don't think you called me out here and interrupted my date, just for a couple of pleasantries." Loki said shrewdly to her fellow goddess, whose smirk grew wider. Loki then huffed at this and asked, "What is it this time, a kid from another familia catches your fancy and you try to steal him for yourself." Loki asked as she opened up one of her permanently shut eyes. "Jeez, you stir up trouble everywhere you go." She said as Freya's smirk grew even larger. "You are one messed up goddess."
"Is it wrong to have an interest to grow one's familia." Freya responded to Loki.
"So then this kid your after, what's he like." Loki asked.
"Well he's an enigma, he has no records before just a few days, and they seem to have no consistent story of their familia. But he's is one of the most intriguing people I have ever seen. His soul is blinding to behold, putting all adventurers and some gods to shame. A soul of swirling hatred, and righteousness. I came across him by complete accident, and he could sense me observing him." Freya finished recounting what she knows about the slayer.
Ais had been staring at the street outside of the veranda seeing the civilians and the occasional adventurers walking by. She then heard something above the streets and saw the knight from the dungeon and the Hostess of Fertility, jump from rooftop to rooftop opposite the cafe. She then heard Freya hastily leave her chair as she then looked back to see what had happened.
"Sorry Loki but a emergency has come up. I will be leaving now." Freya said causing Loki to splutter out. "What you can't just up and leav-." Loki began before Freya cut her off. "We shall meet again dear." She said before she then took her leave.
"What was that all about." Loki began before she noticed something far more important. "Hey she just left me with the check."
The slayer ran on the rooftops avoiding the crowds below as he ran to where the last trace of the imp was. Vega had last updated him around five minutes ago, and it had made him change his direction from North to West and had'nt updated him for a minute. "Imp signature now Southwest." Vega announced as the slayer stopped and the slayer stopping on a rooftop and turning around as he then started to travel in said direction. The imp was moving to erratically, it should be trying to create another connection with hell, not trying to escape the slayers wrath.
The slayer looked down to the streets seeing the Bell with his goddess apparently eating something. The slayer then passed for a moment, wondering if he should warn them of the danger they and the city were now in. "Imp signature now West." Vega said interrupting his thoughts, as the slayer then started to run to the trace as he couldn't be sidetracked once more.
The slayers tracking had now brought him to a massive amphitheater, but more importantly he could now sense the imp, and it appeared to be on the street. The slayer then jumped down to another alley not drawing to much attention to himself as he continued his search now at street level before he heard panicked shouts a distance away from him. The slayer grinned as the imp had finally came out of hiding, as he readied his super shotgun ready to not fail to kill it this time. He ran out of the alley as he saw what all the shouting was about, and to his disappointment and rage was just an escaped monster.
The slayer switched to his heavy assault rifle, with the tactical scope attached, and he then simply fired at the escaped silverback's head. The monster instantly keeled over and exploded into dust, and the slayer put away his assault rifle cracking his fists as he then sensed a trace of argent. The slayer looked over to where he felt the trace only to see his quarry escape into a thin crevice in between two buildings. The slayer ran up to the crevice, pulling out his plasma rifle, as he prepared to burn the imp to cinders, only to see it had ran off. The slayer jumped up onto the rooftops once more, as he saw the imp trying to escape his sight again, as it left behind a tiny trail of blood or viscera from its shoulder wound.
The slayer continued to pursue it as he jumped onto the road hearing roars or screeches from other monsters that had escaped, but they were second priority to the imp. The slayer felt were the imp had ran off to and pursued it only to end up in a empty town square. The slayer looked around as he had his super shotgun raised ready to kill the imp when he finally saw it hiding itself in a stall. He heard multiple voices in the square but ignored them as he continued his pursuit, before hearing a rumble and a massive green serpent rose from the ground causing most people present to run and only three to remain.
The slayer recognised them as being part of that Loki familia and thought they could handle it and he turned around preparing to kill the imp only to hear a familiar screech. The slayer spun round to see the imp jump on the monsters body and climb to its apparent head, which resembled a flower bud, and begun pouring argent into its palm and then pierced its hand into the hide of the monster expelling the energy into the monster. As this was happening the slayer changed his weapon to his heavy assault rifle and used his scope to try to kill the imp, but the monster started to thrash around and the slayer couldn't get a clear shot on the imp.
The slayer then watched as the imp jumped off the monster onto the road scurrying away, as the monster then started to grow more appendages and its colour change. Its head opened to reveal a flower before its petals then started to grow eyes and the monsters teeth started to turn to fangs as it started to spew out fire. Its body as well changed as it skin turned to something like hell growth, or started to rupture and either tentacles or eyes grew out of it.
The slayer then equipped his rocket launcher and used his lock-on burst mod to send a volley of explosives to its face. The creature roared as two of its eyes had burst and a had a tooth chipped from the attack, it stared down for a second at the slayer and then started to spew forth a torrent of flames, burning a few stalls as two of the loki familia had run up to the monster and prepared to attack before a tentacle swiped at them knocking them off course.
The slayer continued to run to the monster as he changed to his Gauss Cannon and started to charge it up as he jumped up onto the monster's body and fired the precision bolt into the biggest eye that had grown on the body. The eye burst as a torrent of viscera spewed from its body covering the slayer, as the two adventurers had tried to attack only to have no effect only bouncing off of the monsters skin. The slayers foot was then grabbed by a tentacle raising him from the monsters body before he blew it up with his super shotgun, this caused the slayer to land near its head as the monster then started to move wildly trying to get the slayer off. The slayer then punched another one of its eyes, popping it as he then grabbed onto the side of the eye to not get shaken off.
The slayer then got the opportunity to approach the head as the monster had grown tired from its thrashing, as it was now focusing on the three women. The slayer approached its head as he punched through a petal and started ripping it off as he then arrived the beasts head.
The slayer pulled out his Gauss-Cannon charging a shot to put down the monster, but it then suddenly jerked making the slayer airborne from the sudden movement, as the hell corrupted monster then lunged at him and chomped down, entrapping the slayer. The slayer fell down twelve feet before stopping himself on the monsters throat and equipping his rocket launcher and blasted his way out of the monster. The monster keeled over a massive having been formed from the slayers attack. The slayer pulled himself out of the monster's corpse getting flecks of blood and viscera on his armour and then saw the imp fighting the two girls.
The slayer immediately rushed over to kill the imp just as the gound shook and two more of the hell corrupted monsters rose from the ground. One had prepared to spew fire at the two girls fighting the imp, and the other used a tentacle to swipe at their friend. The two girls both called out to their downed teammate "Lefiya!" Only for the imp to continue its attack and the monster ready to spew out fire at the two. The slayer used his combat shotgun and fired a explosive shot only for the imp to narrowly dodge it, the imp then lunged away from were it stood as the monster spewed out its fire. The slayers view of the imp was obscured as he saw the other monster get ready to attack the downed girl, the slayer equipped his rocket lancher and fired a burst of rockets to the monster taking it by surprise.
The monster faced the slayer a, considerable amount of damage on its body and prepared to bite down on him. The slayer easily outmanoeuvred the monster and fired a shot from his Super Shotgun at the monsters face popping multiple eyes, stunning it. The slayer jumped up to it and grabbed its jaw and forcibly yanked it open splitting the monsters jaw and most of its upper body. The slayer grabbed the downed elf and carried her carefully and saw the two other girls ensnared in a monsters tendril as another three has popped out of the ground.
A gust of wind was felt by all present and all looked to see Ais arrive attacking a monster cutting two of its petals off its body. "Ais" the two girls said as she cut the two out of their imprisonment, all three landing on the ground around the same time as all still alive monsters roared at the three the slayer running up to them still holding onto Lefiya. "You," Vega said to one of the twins, "take her someplace safe, get weapons for yourself and get help." Vega instructed the two, as the slayer opened up his arms to offer Lefiya to Tione. "Got it. Tiona lets go-" they were interrupted by a scream this time it being a actual human scream.
All looked to see a girl in the imps arm, a raised claw coming down to gut the girl. The slayer immediately sprinted to the imp ready to kill it only for him to get there a second late, it had been able to bring down its claws decapitating the poor girl. The slayer flew into a pure rage at this, he equipped his chainsaw and brought it down on the imp cleaving it into, a satisfying squeal emanating from its mouth, and ammo spurting out of its body all congregating to the slayer.
The three conscious members all stared in disbelief, shock and horror at what the saw. "Go!" Vega said to the twins who snapped out of their stupor and hesitantly retreated from the square. One of the monsters crashed down to where the slayer stood only to get its head stuck in the ground. The slayer jumped to it grabbing its jaws and yanked at its head cleanly pulling its head off and dropped it with him balling his fists, his knuckles creating a audible pop.
The remaining two monsters hissed at him and prepared their fire breath. The slayer simply ran up to one of them and jumped onto its body and brought his foot down onto one of its eyes. The monster hissed at the slayer and looked back at him only for Ais to jump up at the monster turned head and brought her sword down onto its neck creating a large cut on its neck. The slayer took advantage of the wound and jumped to it and pulled it open killing the monster the fire in it leaking out of the wound before dissipating with the last monster roared at them.
Ais sprinted up to the monster before the slayer could only for it to pour out its flame at Ais who quickly dodged out of the way of the fire and jumped up to slash at one of its many eyes. The slayer prepared to join her to kill the last one only for two more to make their way out of the ground. The slayer simply dashed to one and climbed onto its body and grabbed two petals and pulled its head back snapping it in two and guts pouring out of its wound. The slayer jumped over the penultimate monster which had lunged at him and simply grabbed its petals and landed onto the ground and yanked its head back ripping it out.
The slayer looked over to the last monster only seeing Ais stab one of its eyes and then cut at its body creating a large wound and that killing the monster. The slayer walked up to the girl's corpse and stared sympathetically at her head with it being smeared with blood, he approached Ais he looked at the scene, her eyes betraying what she thought on what had happened. Just then the first monster's corpse dissolving in the usual demon manner. His approach was interrupted when a series of footsteps was heard he looked over to see the rest of the Loki familia come to the square, with a now armed Tione and Tiona.
The slayer then decide to leave the square now as most corpses had started to dissolve into nothing. He thought one of the Loki members would stop him and question him only for silence to endure as the slayer went to return to the church or search the streets for Bell.
