Summary: Hailing from the Diamond Clan, Kagome's been gone for the better part of 3 years before she returned to the land of Hisui. With her memories impacted, she doesn't recall her life there. Adaman is intent on helping her recover her memories, but such a feat is much harder than it initially seemed. He can't bear the thought of her forgetting him, or their time together.
Pairing: Adaman/Kagome

Chapter One
The Tree of Ages- a beaming testament of the trials of time. It had stood for centuries, undisturbed. Every three months, he found himself standing before its grandeur. Something about the way it felt always called him back with a specific wish lingering in his mind.
Adaman paused, brown eyes lingering on the stray glimmer of sunlight peering through the lush branches of the tree. A weight rested on his shoulders, words unspoken coming together and falling apart all within seconds. After standing there for what felt like an eternity, he breathed a low sigh as his shoulders dropped. Leafeon at his side looked up at him, observing his posture intently.
Bringing his hands together, Adaman bowed his head low. There was an undeniable tremble that carried through him as he finally found the words he always came to speak there.
"Almighty Sinnoh, please." There was a pause as the wind picked up- the lingering reminder of the storm brewing on the horizon. It didn't faze him, even as his hair tie loosened and slipped from his hair, allowing the two-toned locks to fall free. "Please," he continued, his eyes falling closed, "bring her back."
Silence befell the area as his spoken plea got carried away by the wind. Just like every time before, nothing around him changed. Despite that, his intent never once waned.
He held his stance for a moment longer before slowly letting his hands drop back to his sides. He lifted his head, his eyes once more settling on the tree before him.
For a moment, it felt as though he was caught in the middle of a memory as he gazed up at the gently swaying branches.
Adaman came to a pause behind the dark-haired figure standing before the grand tree. She didn't react at first, though the Eevee at her side turned to glance at him. He remained silent so as to not disturb her focus. That fleeting patience was soon rewarded as she turned to face him.
Bright blue eyes met his brown. He didn't miss the faint flicker of confusion that seemed to linger deep within her captivating irises.
"Why have you asked to meet me here of all places?" Kagome asked, reaching a hand up to tuck a long lock of raven hair back behind her ear.
"This is your favorite place, is it not?" he countered as he took a few more steps to further close the distance between them. "It's a little out of the way, but nothing too fierce, not to mention it's rather quiet here."
Kagome didn't say anything as she observed him. She shifted her stance, folding her arms across her chest as she arched a brow, as if she were silently imploring him to get on with it. He was never someone who needed to be lectured on the importance of utilizing the time they had to its fullest, so she didn't bother to waste the breath it'd take to do so.
"I'm aware of that," she responded. "However-"
All words were lost on her tongue as his hands moved to gently cup her cheeks, his lips landing against her own as silence befell the area between them. The kiss lasted for only a few seconds before he broke it, his hand moving to brush her bangs out of her face.
"Don't give me that look," he admonished in a low, warm tone. "Time spent with you is never wasted."
A low sigh fell from his lips.
Surely, any memory of her was a welcome one. In her absence, it provided a specific type of comfort that nothing else could quite compare to. After a moment longer, he turned on his heel. As he turned, Leafeon moved to join him.
Time spent wasted was time he'd never get back.
There was a murmur when he returned from Jubilife Village. It'd been a few weeks already since his last trip to the Tree of Ages. It was easy to take note of something missing that should've been there, but before he could ask, someone else swiftly spoke up.
"Eevee just ran off!"
"Hm?" The claim was off enough as it was. Ever since Kagome's disappearance, the little thing didn't go far without him. She'd been her companion, after all. "Did something startle her?"
He was answered with a shake of the head. "No, not that I can think of… She just stood up and looked in the direction of the Tree of Ages before she bolted."
"I see…" Adaman nodded, shifting his weight so he could look out in that direction. A second later, he started off down the path. "I'll go find her. She'll be more receptive to me than any of the others."

A sharp pain in her head pulled her from her sleeping state. With a low whine, Kagome slowly shifted so she was sitting up. Her back rested against a tree, and, when she looked up, she found herself recognizing it.
"But…" she trailed off, soon looking around at her other surroundings. This… it was clearly the same tree, but the surroundings didn't look as they should. She eventually pushed herself up onto her feet as she turned to look up at the tree, a mild frown pulling her lips into a downward curve.
Despite that feeling, a part of her felt as though she'd been here once before. Her gaze lingered on the tree, the pang of a memory long since forgotten by her resurging.
As she stood there, something nosing against her ankle caught her attention. She looked down, blue eyes landing on a creature that also somehow looked familiar to her. Without trying, a name formed within her head as she crouched down to be a bit closer to its level.
Once she had done so, it wasted no time before it leaped up into her arms. Idly, Kagome combed her fingers through the silver fur it had.
Eevee. This creature… it was called an Eevee.
A nagging question as to how she knew that lingered in her mind, but she had no answer as to how she knew it. It was as if it was just merely present there inside her head.
"How did I…-?" The question trailed off to a low whisper as she took in her surroundings. "Where am I…-?"
Why couldn't she remember how she got here, let alone where here even was?

Atop the hill, Adaman came to a halt. A figure standing before the Tree of Ages lingered in his line of sight. For a moment, it felt as though he'd forgotten how to breathe at all.
Could it truly be…?
Soon enough, she had moved, allowing her face to come into view. In that instance, there was no shot of mistaking her for another.
She looked identical to the last time he'd ever seen her, right down to her clothes.
"Go, go," Kagome chided, flicking her hand in a flippant wave. "I'll catch up when I'm done gathering herbs."
"I could help, you know," Adaman responded, only to get shot down when she shook her head.
"There's no need," she responded without even giving it a moment's thought. "You have to a meeting to attend," she stated. She was right, and, as such, he had no shot of arguing about it. "I won't be out for much longer, I promise."
She stood back up to her full height, dusting her palms off on the deep sapphire of her hakama. The fold of her black haori had fallen open some, and she idly fixed it when she caught sight of it.
"Soon enough you'll have to join me, you know," Adaman remarked as he started to turn to leave. Before he'd looked away from her, he didn't miss the way her nose crinkled in displeasure at the thought. He chuckled as he finally turned to leave. "Don't be out for much longer, Kagome!"
"Right…-"
That moment had been the last time she was to be seen. Though, when he'd come to look for her, half expecting her to have gotten caught up in her scavenger hunt, the only thing he'd been greeted by was the sight of her Eevee curled up at the base of the tree.
Before he knew what he'd even done, he'd reached the base of the hill and swiftly closed the distance between them. He didn't miss the way she backtracked a few steps once he was within arms reach, and he attempted to swallow the impulsive need to reach out and touch her.
He had to stop and think for a moment just what might've happened to her, about what she must've endured in her three year-long absence.
"Kagome…-?"
She nodded slowly, her grip on Eevee tightening just a bit more. "Y-Yes…" She took a few seconds to manage a response. Her voice was just as he recalled, yet somehow it was better than ever.
Silence settled between them as a wide array of emotions coursed through him. Just as he was about to say something more, a soft, whispered question from her caused him to forget all the things he was about to say.
"... W-Who are you?"
Auroua-chan: This seems like a good spot to end this chapter.
Kagome's originally from Hisui, yet it seems as if she doesn't have any present memories. Some things came back to her, such as Eevee, though she doesn't seem quite clear about how she knows what it is.
Only time can tell when her memories will come back, if they do. It's a rocky road ahead, that's for sure.
Adaman still loves her very much, but he'll have to give her time to warm up to him. Maybe there's a way he'll be able to stir her memories?
Anyway, that's it for now! Thank you all for reading and I hope you all enjoyed. Hopefully I caught all the errors before posting, but if not sorry.
