Chapter 2: Knife to meet you...

Today was the day of the familiar summoning ritual. It was an important procession, when soon to be mages were calling forth their summons. Guiche had summoned a mole, Montmorency had summoned a frog, and that damn Kirsche managed to get a Fire Salamander. Most impressive was that dragon Tabitha had summoned. And now... Now she was being called in to try her luck and get anything...Really she'd be happy with anything, be it a rat or a small snake, she just hoped she'd get anything. She silently prayed to Brimir that he'd be merciful and grant her most impressive familiar of all so that Kirsche could eat her words!

- "And the next and final person is... Louise! Louise Francoise le Blanc de la Vallier!"
- "Yes!"
- *Chatters *Giggles *Mutterings
- "My name is Louise Francoise le Blanc de la Vallier, pentagon of the five elemental powers, heed my summoning...And bring forth my familiar!"

And then... it exploded...

...

With the resounding explosion a puff of smoke filled the grounds of the prestigious academy. People were muttering something about zero's and explosions. Louise however just stood, trembling, tears appearing in the corners of her eyes. But Colbert continued to look forwards, confident in his student and trying to see anything inside the smoke. So did a certain bluenette. She was about to cast a wind spell to blow away the dust. But before she could even begin to chant, a number of swings whistled in the air, they could be heard loudly and clearly. The force of those swings blew off all of the rising smoke with gusts of wind that almost knocked people off their feet! Such power! The strength this figure had to have could only be described as immeasurable! She narrowed her eyes at the... person...? No, this thing that stood inside the circle. It was finely dressed in beautiful foreign clothes, likely expensive, signifying a place of stature. It was holding a strange sword decorated with... fake eyes? No! They looked at her! They were functioning LIVING eyes! This monster had six eyes of his own. If it was not for these strange and horrifying features she would have described him as extremely handsome, his face had no blemish and was sharp and slim. He was tall. Very tall, standing at around 6 feet! He was also clearly muscular and had an air of superiority and calmness around him that made him look like royalty... The bluenette readied herself. This thing meant trouble. And she was not sure if she could harm it, let alone kill it. The speed and strength of those swings meant that no one in their lifetime could ever hope to evade or block them. This was dangerous...

A certain pinkette however took no note of the power displayed by the thing she summoned. She took no notice at the predatory gaze it thrown her way as if measuring his new prey like a hungry lion. Colbert saw this monster's strength firsthand and the way it looked at Louise almost like a hunter sizing up a deer. He tried to stop her, but she seemed to be in a daze, walking... no, strolling towards it with confidence!

- (Finally! I have summoned something! It's strong and fast and is finely dressed! Whatever it is, it must be at least as impressive as that salamander! Eat that Kirsche!)

As Louise approached her summon she drew out her wand. She started the chant and tried to reach for her new familiar. As she was tiptoeing to kiss this six eyed giant she felt a strong sense of wrongness as if what she was doing was very dangerous. All of her senses started to get overloaded, screaming for her to run away. And then she felt something fall off of her shoulder. And the familiar vanished in an instant leaving only broken ground behind him, as if something big fell from the sky...Or something enormous jumped away... And then she felt pain. And the flow of liquid running from her arm... Wait... Arm?! Where's my arm?!
A blood curdling scream filled the air as Louise touched her wound, the place where her limb should have been. It was lying on the ground, blood was pouring from her shoulder like a fountain. She heard professor Colbert shouting for a water mage while her world was spinning into a blur and slowly fading into darkness. She was loosing consciousness from blood loss. All she felt before passing out, were strong arms picking her up and carrying her away. Her body was becoming numb, stillness filling her mind...

It was the day that the prestigious academy felt a strong blow in it's political standing. If the students could not be protected from injury then why were they even operating? Louise de la Vallier, the daughter of the most esteemed noble house in all of Tristain had just lost her arm. She is a personal friend of Princess Henriette and not the last person in terms of influence, as was her mother Karin the Heavy Wind - A Hero that could only be hailed as a living legend and a "One woman army" if need be... Headmaster Osmond was sweating bullets when he got the news of young Louise's sudden loss of an important body part. He immediately informed all of the people he could, and planned to hunt that demon down. He instructed to add more precautions and add security in case of dangerous summons again. That six eyed monster harmed and almost killed his student leaving an irreparable wound on academy's reputation... That day Osmond smoked almost all of his Tobacco reserves to calm down his nerves.

KOKUSHIBO's P.O.V.

Kokushibo was currently running through the forest, seeking a future place of residence. He needed a place to stay and find a potential future base of operations located far away, distant from his likely pursuers and hidden from prying eyes. If he truly is in a new world, then there were no Muzan's to follow and no duties to fulfill... Although that is not a complete guarantee just yet. He will play it safe. For now he needs to find a way to hunt down his food and stay out of sight. Bandits and criminals are the best form of prey, they are strong and determined to live, the best part is that no one really cares about them in the long run. They never truly end in their supply, misery and poverty leads most righteous men into the domains of savagery. It is these barbarians who are strong enough to withstand the transformation through his demonic blood. Not only are they perfect minions, they are also seasoned warriors, nutritious and full of vigor... But first he must find a place to stay in.

Kokupuffs was not naive. He knew that they would search for him. But he also knew that they stood no chance. The unknown, while worrisome, was in no way supposed to intimidate the strongest demon. He learned his lesson with his pathetic death. He must never underestimate his opponents. Never again. He would follow the code as he was supposed to and he would triumph in the coming battle. He found just the place!
It was in the side of a mountain and was not well seen form any angle. The sights allowed him to spot all routes and roads within the forest while hiding him from being spotted himself. The place was vast and dark and to enter it one must go through a narrow passage in the side of the mountain that was unreachable by foot, or alternatively find it by traversing labyrinthine tunnels inside the mountain. As he explored his new home he grew more and more pleased with his finding. There were tunnels and these tunnels were numerous and twisted in every direction with many hidden entries and exits. This made people reaching him on accident improbable as well as give him a tactical advantage in case he was found out, since the caves were dark, dangerous and confusing. All that was left was to lay low for a couple of months and start eating his gazelles... And maybe start turning some into lions. But that should wait. At least until they forget about him, let's say...200 years? Yes that could work!

Kokushibo was very pleased with this outcome...
