Rain fell as Dawn ran through the forest frightened by the lightning and thunder suddenly a bright light appeared behind her and the sound of something crackling reached her ears. Then it happened the moment that had scarred her both physically and emotionally. The tree that fell on her and its branches tore one side of her face.
Dawn then awoke with her heart pounding in her chest.
"Oh it was just a dream," she sighed as she settled back down," I must've dozed off."
Though she still felt flighty. She then peeked out of her carriage revealing a wall of mountains which meant they were getting closer to Veilstone kingdom. Dawn then glanced at the fake treasure that sat in an elegant box that was ornated with gold.
"Hopefully this prince won't be able to tell that this is not Mother's greatest treasure and that Mother and I can go home peaceably," Dawn pondered," or we will both be dead!"
She gently felt the scars on her face as she let the usual tears flow down.
"If only these scars weren't here then maybe Mother could've been more busy with finding me a husband rather than foolishly trying to conquer a kingdom. We wouldn't be in this mess! And we could be at home safe and sound! But no my Mother had to go and risk her life for another castle!" Dawn growled to herself as she wiped the tears away," but we all know what she would say…The reason why is because of my ugliness…"
She flung herself against the opposite side of the carriage seat as it got wet by her tears.
"No one will ever love me…" she sighed in defeat," unless that person was oblivious of my scars."
"We made it your highness," one of the guards announced.
Dawn took a deep breath.
"Here I go. I pray that all things go smoothly," she whispered as her heart raced.
