Hey what's up, I think I deleted these stories years ago bc I was like hmmmm not the Same Brand of Cringe as the rest of the fics on here lmao But I got a dm recently from someone wanting to reread them (which like. Thank you so much it means a lot that there are people out there that still like all these silly fics I wrote when I was a kid) and lo and behold I still had the OG word docs on my computer somewhere so
Sorry this took a hot minute to find and upload! I'm in my senior year of college rn and I am. Going Through It lmao. If anyone reading this wants to go to art school oh boy I hope you like suffering! :)
To kinda make this process easier I'm posting Apology Gone Wrong as one big chapter and Lead Me Home as the next one. For posterity's sake I will be including all the horrible author's notes I originally wrote as well to really get that 2012 time machine feel. Jesus I was in 7th grade when I wrote this thing? I'm 25 now
Also I'm looking through the new guidelines bc I haven't used this site in years, bro reader inserts aren't allowed anymore? Lol thank god I moved to a03 that's literally all I write
Anyway woe cringe be upon ye. This is what growing up catholic does to a motherfu
Here's my newest story; "Apology Gone Wrong". In this story, well, you can pretty much tell from the summary. WARNING: Probably one of the most dramatic things I've written so far…
Just wanna clear something up; In this fic, there shall be no Finn and Holley fluff! GASP! I know what you're thinking;
"But MonkeyLover422! You love Finn and Holley fluff! WHY JUST NOT PUT IT?! IT'S THE APOCALYPSE! AHHH!"
Ok, there's a good chance that's not what you're thinking…No romantic fluff for them. In this fic, Finn thinks of Holley as a daughter. If anyone voted my poll, and saw the choices, I picked D. And to prove it, Mater is Holley's boyfriend in this fic! That is SO out of character for me to do, but… Yeah. Whatever. Enjoy the Mater and Holley fluff from me for a change…
Chapter 1
Tombér sat parked out in front of his shop in Paris, France. Business was slow, which was surprising. It was a particularly hot day, and many cars should be overheating and need replacements. Tombér was not exactly enjoying himself. The weather was making him awfully cranky, not to mention he didn't sleep well last night because of his recurring nightmare that had to do with Holley Shiftwell. She was a rather beautiful car, but what she did the first time they met was simply inexcusable. His dreams alternated between involving her romantically and involving her… Well… Pretty much how they first met.
Tombér's eyelid lazily rose in confusion as he saw a familiar purple Jaguar approach his shop. She stopped at a distance, then realizing he had spotted her, timidly rolled closer. Tombér's eyes narrowed.
"Um… Hello, Tombér…" She greeted, looking at the ground.
"Bonjour, Miss Shiftwell." He replied in his heavy French accent.
"I... I wanted to come down here to, um… A-apologize." She explained, clearly a bit embarrassed.
"Apologize?" Tombér repeated.
"For, um." Holley chuckled uncomfortably. "When Finn and Mater and I were here months ago, when we first met, and I… Um, you know, shocked you."
Tombér gave a slight smile at her play on words. "Well of course, being electrocuted is awfully surprising."
"Yes…" Holley looked back at the ground.
An idea suddenly popped into Tombér's mind. He flashed Holley a fake smile and said, "Tout va bien. Why don't you come inside?"
"…Inside?" Holley echoed.
"Oui, oui. Can I get you anything?" He asked, already entering his garage.
"Um... No, thank you, that's very kind. Tombér, I really am sorry. I had no idea who you were, and you sped away, and the way Finn went after you it seemed like…" She sighed. "A-anyway, if everything's alright, now, I should really get back—"
Holley suddenly got flipped onto her roof by one of Tombér's machines. She wasn't sure whether she cried out in pain or surprise.
"My apologies." Tombér drove away from the lever he pulled with a sly smile.
"W… Wh… B…" Holley couldn't decide what to ask.
"Mon Dieu, I could have killed you." His tone was sarcastic. "Similar to when we first met, no?"
"Are you insane?" Holley asked. "Th-they're electro-shockers. Th-they can't kill someone!"
"Regardless, I still don't want your apology."
"Why are you doing this…?" Holley nearly whispered. Her eyes glinted with terror.
"It would be awfully nice to get back at you somehow." Tombér mused, now circling Holley.
"Tombér, please... I have to get back... Finn doesn't even know I'm here, no one does..." She pleaded, wincing every once and a while at the concrete ground against her roof.
Tombér thought for a moment. "Finn... Doesn't know you are here?"
"No, and he's probably very worried, so I should really—"
Tombér cut her off. "If he doesn't know you're here..." Tombér thought out loud. A smile appeared across his grill. Holley was desperately trying to look around and see where he was.
"I think I found the perfect revenge plot."
Holley realized that she was on her back, perfectly vulnerable.
She gasped. "You wouldn't!" Her eyes widened.
"Wouldn't what?" Tombér smiled. "You can't even see me."
Holley's horrible suspicion was confirmed when she felt pressure near her back bumper.
"Tombér, please!" She panicked.
Tombér spoke in a low voice. "Listen to Finn next time, mon cher."
…
"Siddeley, have you seen Miss Shiftwell?" Finn asked his friend, later that afternoon.
"Sorry, Finn. I have no idea where she is. I thought she was with you, honestly."
"Why would she go somewhere without telling me first?" Finn mumbled to himself. "Do you think she's alright? What if she's been kidnapped? Or… I don't know, something."
"I think you're being paranoid. And maybe a bit sexist? Anyway, why don't you try your radio?"
"Why didn't I think of that? Thanks, Sid."
Finn turned on his radio.
"Miss Shiftwell? It's Finn. Please respond."
No answer.
"Holley?" Finn spoke a bit louder.
He could hear... French?
"Where on Earth is she?" Finn wondered aloud.
"Well, my guesses would be France, Canada, Switzerland, Togo—"
"Siddeley, do me a favor and shut up?"
Finn turned off his radio with a sigh.
"She's not answering…"
"I heard... What do you suggest we do?" Siddeley asked.
"I... I'm not sure." Finn paced the cabin of the jet. "Why don't we check Radiator Springs?"
"Why would she be there?" Sid asked, really wanting to be part of this.
"She might have driven away to see Mater... She's done it before, so if she's done it once, she might have done it again." Finn explained. "Yes, that must be it." He convinced himself.
…
"So, just so we're clear, she's not here?"
"Sorry, Finn! Shoot, I dun wish she were here, den we could do somthin'! We don see each other dat often, ya know!" Mater said, still in his happy-go-lucky tone of voice.
"I'm very aware. Thank you anyway, Mater."
"Well bye, Finn! Hope ya find her! Make sure nothin' bad dun happened ta her, 'kay?"
"Will do, Mater." Finn smiled.
...
By evening, Siddeley and Finn had returned to London. It was getting late, and Siddeley
was trying to convince Finn to go back to his apartment. Finn told him he intended to sleep in the jet cabin, where he and Holley usually did. They were still pretty far away from their homes.
"Where could she be…?" The stressed Aston Martin muttered.
Finn perked up at the sudden purr of an engine. He spun around to see none other than Holley.
"Holley! Where have you been all day?! Are you alright? You had me worried!" Finn smiled, relieved to see her.
Holley, who was still shaking slightly, hesitated and said, "I'm fine..."
Finn's eyelid went up with suspicion. "Holley?"
"I said I'm fine!" She snapped, then drove up the ramp to board Siddeley's deck, leaving a surprised and confused Finn idling there. Finn soon followed into the jet, but was stopped.
"What do you suppose happened?" Siddeley asked.
"... I'm not sure, Sid. I have a feeling it was nothing good..."
...
That night, neither of the spies could sleep. Finn knew Holley was awake, but was being kept awake himself with thoughts about what could have happened to her. Holley, who assumed Finn was asleep, quietly drove out of the jet. Finn quietly followed her.
Outside of Siddeley, Holley was driving around in circles.
"Why did I have to say that Finn didn't know where I was? Why did I say that? Why did I even go to apologize in the first place?! So I had a guilty conscious, at least I wouldn't have... Why would he do that? Why did I hurt him in the first place? Stupid... Why did I have to go apologize!? Maybe if I went with Finn... But no, I had to go alone! Why was I so stupid!? Stupid, stupid, stupid!"
She stopped circling. "Why couldn't I have just stayed here? Then he wouldn't have..."
Holley shuddered at the memory of Tombér's method of revenge.
Finn watched as tears rolled off her hood. He quietly drove up behind her.
"Holley…" He spoke quietly and calmly.
Holley jumped at the sudden voice, and turned. She blinked the tears out of her eyes when she saw it was Finn.
"Holley, you know you can tell me anything, right? I would never think any differently of you, or..."
"I told you before, I'm fine." She said curtly, driving back towards Siddeley.
Finn sighed. She has to tell me eventually, he thought to himself, and followed her up the ramp.
Chapter 1! Most dramatic thing I've ever written, right? O.o Review if you would like to see a second chapter. It's already written out, so the first review I get saying you want a second chapter, I'll post it. :) That is, if the people want me to…
The public has decided they want chapter two! I still can't get over how dramatic this story is… O.o This story is so uncharacteristic of me to write, but I randomly got the idea and stuck with it…Anyway, hope you enjoy chapter 2.
Chapter 2
Two weeks after the incident, Finn and Holley had returned from a successful mission. "Well, that was eventful." Finn chuckled. He looked towards Holley, expecting to see her smiling face agreeing with him. Instead, her eyes were fixed on the floor of the jet, and she hadn't moved much since they boarded Siddeley.
"Holley, are you feeling alright?" Finn's smile dropped and he looked at her with sincere eyes.
Holley hesitated. "Um… Actually, Finn? Could we stop by the doctor's office? I've been feeling a bit ill lately." She explained.
"Of course, Miss Shiftwell." He looked at her sympathetically.
…
"Well, Miss Shiftwell, I have… Interesting news." the nurse smiled as she drove back into the room she left Holley and Finn in moments before. Finn volunteered to wait outside, but Holley said she'd feel better if he came with. He hesitantly agreed.
"What is it?" Holley nervously asked.
The nurse looked Holley in the eye. "It would appear that, well… You're pregnant." She smiled.
Holley eyes widened, but were nowhere near as wide as Finn's.
"I…" the paint around Holley's hood and eyes turned white. "What?"
"Congratulations. You're going to be a mother." She then looked over at Finn. "Are you the father?"
"Oh, no, no, I'm… I'm just a friend." Finn explained.
"H-how could this have happened?" Holley panicked, already thinking of the possibility that Tombér…
"Well, when a couple participates in interc—"
Holley cut her off, flustered. "Y-yes, I know that bit! But we… We didn…" She trailed off. It… Must have… Tombér… Holley thought.
"I hope you discover the reason soon." The nurse smiled apologetically.
…
Finn and Holley drove back to Siddeley in silence. It wouldn't matter, anyway. Holley's mind was too full of panic to hear anything.
Once back inside Siddeley, Finn finally spoke.
"Holley?" he asked in a quiet voice.
Holley slowly switched her gaze from the floor to Finn.
"Holley… Y-you and Mater—"
"N-no!" Holley interrupted. "N-no, we haven't… No." She looked away.
"Holley… Where were you when you were gone all day a few weeks ago?"
Holley opened her mouth to speak but closed it again, remembering Tombér's threat.
"He… He said if I told anyone… E-especially you, he'd… He'd do it again…" she whispered, closing her eyes.
"What? Who? Holley, who… Did this to you!?"
Holley opened her eyes and bit her lip, desperately looking anywhere but at Finn.
"Holley…" Finn said driving closer to her, and speaking in a whisper. "Holley, who hurt you?"
Holley stayed silent.
"Holley… I promise, if you tell me, I won't let him hurt you again." Finn's words sounded too good to be true.
"…It… It was…" She mumbled, inaudibly.
"Holley?"
"T-Tombér…" She whispered.
Finn blinked uncomprehendingly. Had… Had he heard her correctly?
"T… Tomber?" Finn repeated.
Holley looked away and nodded.
"…Siddeley?"
"Yes, Finn?"
"Take me to Paris."
"No, Finn, you can't!" Holley's eyes popped open and she moved closer to Finn. "Please, Finn!" She begged.
"Take Miss Shiftwell to Radiator Springs." He looked over at Holley. "She'll be safe, there."
"Yes, Sir."
"Finn, no!" Holley's eyes began to water.
"Holley, not another word." He commanded. Holley fell silent and drove to the opposite side of the cabin.
…
Tombér looked up from his work to see a familiar Aston Martin speed towards his shop.
"Finn? What are you doing here?"
"I think you know exactly why I'm here." Finn growled.
"…No, I'm pretty sure I don't." Tombér argued, turning to head back inside.
Finn shoved Tombér inside his shop.
"Ow! Vous fils de pute!" Tombér practically snarled.
"Tomber, it appears that… That Miss Shiftwell is… Pregnant." He said through clenched teeth.
"What? Why are you telling me!?" Tombér demanded.
Finn slammed Tomber into the wall, and held him against it with his tire. "Because I know you're to blame!" Finn shouted.
"What?" Tomber winced. "You have no proof!"
"I have plenty proof. And I can take you to CHROME and have you arrested right now. In fact, I can kill you right now…"
Tomber gulped.
"Why, Tombér?" Finn demanded.
Tombér was silent. Finn pushed him harder against the wall.
"Why, Tombér!?" Finn yelled, his gun popping out of his wheel well.
"Finn, you have no right to—!"
"I have every right to. Now tell me." Finn leaned closer to Tombér. "Why?"
…
"So, why is you here, Miss Holley?" Mater asked Holley under the hot Arizona sun.
"Well…" Holley thought for a moment. "Finn had to go somewhere without me." She decided. Wasn't technically a lie, she thought.
"Aw, that's too bad… Ya know, Finn done come here a week or ta ago lookin' fer ya…"
"Really?" Holley looked back over at Mater. Being with him did make her feel significantly better, despite the circumstances.
"Yeah, he done thunk yous snuck away ta visit me…"
"Well, I would need his permission before coming here…" Holley smiled.
"Wait… You is here wit permission, right?" Mater smirked.
Holley laughed. "Yes, Finn and Sid personally dropped me off."
"So, where done did Finn go?"
"Oh, he… Went to take care of something…"
"Like a mission er somethin'?"
"You could say that."
"So, ya wanna go do somethin'?"
"Actually, Mater, I'm sorry, but, I've been feeling ill lately…"
Mater's smile fell. "Oh… Alright… We can still… Go have lunch er somethin' though, right?" His tow cable moved side to side hopefully, like a dog wagging his tail.
"Of course, Mater." Holley smiled.
Mater's goofy grin reappeared. "Dad gum! Let's go!"
…
Mater and Holley were sitting on the edge of the cliff in front of Wheel Well, watching the sunset.
"Mater?" Holley asked after a while.
"Yeah, Miss Holley?"
"…I need to tell you something…"
"Well sure thang! Whatcha need ta tell me?" Mater looked over at Holley.
"I… Dear God, how do I say this? "
Mater stopped smiling. "Somethin's wrong… Ain't it…?" He asked.
"Yeah." Holley confirmed sadly.
"Is you…" Mater looked hurt.
"No, Mater. I love you. I'm not going to leave you. I'm just scared that… After what I say, you're… You're going to want to leave me…"
"I done love ya, too, Holley. Ya done know that."
Suddenly there was the sound of an engine racing up the cliff. Mater and Holley turned just in time to see Finn reach the top.
"Finn?" Holley asked, surprised.
"Tombér's… Taken care of, Holley. He's in CHROME prison."
"Thank you…" Holley looked at the ground.
"I still can't believe he would…" Finn shook his hood, then drove up next to her and Mater.
"I know… Um, Finn? Would… Would you mind helping me?"
"With what, Miss Shiftwell?"
Holley took a deep breath. "…tell Mater what happened?"
"Holley…"
"I can't do it!" She nearly whined.
Finn sighed. "Why don't you go back to the town and get something at the café…?"
Holley nodded. "Thank you…" She quietly drove away.
"Finn? What's wrong with Holley?"
Finn looked Mater in the eye. He looked extremely concerned for his girlfriend. "And why is Tombér in jail?" He added.
Finn took a deep breath and began to explain. "Because he deserved it."
"What'd he do?"
"He… Look, Mater? Because of Tombér, Holley is…"
"Did he hurt her?" Mater's concern grew.
Finn sighed. "Yes. He… Mater, Holley hasn't been feeling well recently because she's pregnant." Finn said as he looked out towards the setting sun.
Mater's eyes widened. His shocked expression slowly changed to an angry one. His anger was suddenly replaced by sadness. "Holley done thunked I was gonna leave her 'cause of dat?" He asked quietly.
"I suppose…"
"No… Nah, I love Holley… I gotta help 'er!" He frowned.
"I'm trying to do everything I can." Finn sighed.
"What else do we do?" Mater asked.
Finn didn't answer.
"…Finn?"
"…I don't know." Finn looked back at Mater. "I really don't know."
…
"Holley?"
Holley looked up from her can of oil to face the familiar voice.
"Hello, Mater…"
"Holley… I ain't gonna leave ya. Even if ya say you want me ta leave, I ain't leavin'."
Holley smiled warmly. "Thank you, Mater."
"And me and Finn is gonna help ya."
Finn drove over. "Holley, Mater, come with me?" He motioned with his tire.
Holley and Mater followed Finn halfway across town. Soon, they reached the Sheriff.
"Finn? Holley? How long have you been in town?"
"About a day. Sheriff? We need to talk to you…"
"Somethin' wrong?"
"Well, Miss Shiftwell… Needs somewhere she can be safe for a long amount of time…"
"Well, ya know she's welcome to stay here. I doubt any of your enemies will find her here." The Sheriff said with a smile. "About how long do you want her to stay?"
Finn looked at Holley as if asking for her approval. Holley gave a small nod.
"Well… Nine months…"
The Sheriff raised an eyebrow. "That's not a coincidence… Is it…"
"I'm afraid not."
"I… Guess it ain't easy being a spy. Especially if…" Sheriff trailed off.
Finn and Holley nodded sadly.
"Holley, if there's anythin' I can do while you stay here…"
"Thank you, Sheriff…" Holley smiled sadly.
"Now, I'm pretty sure the town knows you enough to know you didn't… Purposely… But, with your permission, I think it would be best to tell the town, so they can help in any way they can…"
Holley nodded.
…
Holley sat in Cone Number Three of Sally's motel, crying. Finn had gone with Sheriff to the courthouse to announce to the residents of the town what happened to her without sparing too many details. Now that she was alone, thinking about everything that happened in just the past few weeks, let alone day, she couldn't control the tears that poured down her hood.
She closed her eyes.
…
Finn drove over to Holley's cone after the town meeting. Sally had given him access as well as Holley. He opened it, and saw that Holley was asleep. He drove up next to her. Looking closer, he saw that she had been crying. He stoked her hood with his tire.
"Holley… Everything's going to be alright… We just need to…" Finn sighed.
Finn couldn't help the stream of thoughts that came to his mind. How could this have happened to Holley? She was so innocent… I… Guess that's what happens when you're a spy, but… But it was Tombér! She had let her guard down, she didn't know… I didn't know… I should have gone with her…
Aww, how sweet. Finn is all guilty. Review if ya want.
Chapter 3. Thank you to those who reviewed the last chapter.
Chapter 3
Three months after Holley had taken up temporary residence in Radiator Springs, Finn had recently finished a mission and was racing towards the town. He hadn't seen Holley in a little over a month, and was very anxious to check on her.
"Finn!" Mater exclaimed, happy to see his friend.
"Hello, Mater." Finn smiled. "How are you doing, Holley?"
"I'm alright." Holley cracked a smile. Finn flooded with relief, and his face showed it. She was at least smiling.
Lightning spoke up. "You know, if you two found out, for some weird reason, that Finn is your long lost biological father, I wouldn't be surprised…"
Finn and Holley each raised an eyelid, and stared at Lightning, then exchanged a glance with each other. Lightning laughed.
"Does anyone agree with me?" He asked.
Some of the other residents of the town laughed.
"Well, I can assure you, that's probably never going to happen… I wouldn't mind, of course." Holley added. "Finn's already basically a father to me, anyway."
Finn looked over at her. "Neither would I, but that would be incredibly strange…"
That caused more residents to chuckle a little.
…
Finn had been in town for about a week, and he and Holley were spending a little time together before he had to leave again for another mission.
"You're confident you'll be alright while I'm gone?" Finn asked yet again.
"Finn, you said yourself I'll be safe here." Holley reminded him.
"Of course you'll be safe, but will you be alright?" He repeated.
Holley didn't answer.
"Holley…"
"…Yes?"
"You know you have nothing to be worried about right now…"
"…do I?"
"Of course not. Mater and I are going to help you, be here for you as much as we can." Finn smiled lightly.
Holley, who had been keeping all of her emotions balled up inside, finally lost it.
"Finn, don't you get it? I have everything to worry about! I'm terrified!" Holley was holding back tears. "I have no idea how…" she swallowed. "H-how I'm going to make it through this! Y-you have no idea what I'm going through! You can't help me!" She finished, letting her tears spill freely.
For once, Finn didn't know what to say. He was going to kill Tombér…
Unable to comfort Holley, Finn began to drive away after a minute of silence. Holley stopped him.
"Finn…wait, I-I didn't mean to…"
"I know."
"I need your help, Finn. I'm so sorry if I ever tell you otherwise…"
"I know, Holley. I promise I'll do anything I can."
Holley drove over next to Finn and leaned against him. She showed such a sad expression that it hurt Finn to look at her.
"I'm so sorry, Holley…" Finn said for the umpteenth time.
…
"Agent McMissile? What are you doing here, Sir?"
"I'd like to speak with one of the prisoners, if that's alright." Finn said, keeping his professional composure.
"Of course, Sir. Right this way." The agent nodded, and led Finn through the doors of C.H.R.O.M.E. prison. Finn nodded his thanks to the agent, then slowly drove on alone through the row of cells. He passed some robbers, kidnappers, murders, Sir Axlerod, Professor Zündapp, Grem, Acer, more lemons, finally reaching Tomber at the end.
Tomber felt a presence in front of his cell and turned away from the wall back wall.
"Finn?" Tombér asked, surprised.
"Hello, Tombér." Finn answered, curtly.
"What do you want, Finn? You've put me in prison, what more could you possibly do?" Tombér sneered.
"Actually, it's what you can do." Finn was doing his best at keeping his voice steady.
"…I don't understand." Tombér finally said.
"I want to know why." Finn glared at him.
Tombér fell silent.
"Tombér, Holley is suffering because of you. I want to know what possibly caused you to make her this way." Finn's voice was trembling with rage.
By now, the Lemons were listening in on the conversation. What happened to Shiftwell that McMissile is so angry about? they all thought.
"Tombér, I can file your execution if you refuse to tell me." Finn threatened, his voice calmer.
"…I don't know." Tombér answered quietly.
"You don't know!? You just randomly decided to.. To…?!"
"Look, Finn, I am sorry. All right?! I'm sorry that I impregnated your partner." Tombér growled, turning away from Finn.
The lemons who were listening widened their eyes. More lemons were listening, now. Including Sir Axlerod and Professor Zündapp.
"Why didn't we think of that?" Grem whispered to Acer.
"Because of McMissile's wrath…?"
"Good point…"
"I am not finished with you, Tombér." Finn warned, then drove away. The Lemons stared at him as he passed.
"Hey! McMissile!" Professor Z said.
Finn stopped and turned toward his cell. "What?"
"Did that three-wheeled car seriously…?"
Finn looked at the floor. "…What is it to you?"
Professor Z shrugged. Axlerod spoke up. "Just… Curious…"
"Well, why do you think he's here? I wouldn't just randomly throw my informant in prison…" Finn murmured, then drove away.
The Lemons were still talking. "Hey! You! Yeah, you! With the three wheels!" Grem called.
"What?" Tombér half-heartedly glanced over.
"So, you…" Ivan the tow truck asked.
Tombér sighed. "Oui, and now I have to rot in here…"
"Wait, so she's… Seriously pregnant now?" Grem wondered aloud.
"Unfortunately." Tombér replied.
"So why is McMissile so concerned?" Acer asked.
"Maybe they have a secret relationship no one knows about!" Another lemon suggested.
"That's ridiculous. McMissile is like, twice her age… Plus, he deserves to be alone." Grem pointed out.
"Yeah." Acer agreed.
"Not to mention she's dating that tow truck." Tomber told them.
Various cries of disbelief and confusion echoed throughout the cells.
"It's true." Tombér shrugged.
"Man, McMissile was right about you being his informant…"
…
"Finn? Where was you?" Mater asked Finn.
"That's not important. Where's Holley?"
"She done asleep!"
"Alright. Thank you, Mater. I'm going back to Siddeley to get some sleep. I'll be back first thing in the morning." Finn smiled.
"Kay. Night, Finn."
"Goodnight, Mater."
…
Finn drove towards Flo's café at the crack of dawn. Sarge and Fillmore weren't even up yet. The only car at the café was Flo.
Flo noticed Finn driving over. "Well, goodmornin', Honey." She smiled warmly. "Can I get you somethin'?"
"A cup of coffee, if it's not any trouble." Finn smiled.
"None at all." Flo beamed.
"Thank you."
"What's buggin' you? You seem depressed." Flo asked with sincere compassion.
Finn looked at the ground. "Well, Holley, is…" He trailed off.
"You ain't blamin' yourself, are you?" Flo asked, her windshield contorted in worry.
"Well, I… I could have prevented it." Finn sighed.
"You had nothin' to do with it, Hon. It's best to help in any way you can, now."
"That's what I keep telling myself." Finn shrugged. "Still, if I had just…" Finn started to say, then sighed.
"It ain't your fault, hon. Don't ever forget that." Flo tenderly placed a steaming cup of coffee down in front of Finn.
"Thank you." Finn smiled over at her. "For both."
"You're very welcome." Flo smiled in delight.
Soon, Sarge and Fillmore's morning songs started, always followed by their argument, waking most residents up.
"Mia! Tia! Get out here! Cars are gonna be comin' for breakfast any minute!" Flo called back into the café.
Identical twin 1992 Mazda MX-5s came out of the café.
"God, why do we have to work so early?" One of them groaned.
"Yeah, I wanna go back to sleep…" said the other as Sarge and Fillmore drove into the café. Mia and Tia drove over to take their orders with heavy sighs.
A few minutes later, Luigi and Guido drove over. Guido looked like he wanted to go back to sleep and get breakfast later.
They were followed a minute later by Red, then Lightning and Sally drove into the café together. Soon after, Mater lazily rolled into view.
I'd better go wake up Holley… Thought Finn as he drove away, towards the direction of the Cozy Cone.
He knocked on the garage with his tire. "Holley?" he called. Moments later, the garage opened.
"Good morning, Holley…"
"What's so good about it?" she asked gloomily.
"…Well, not much… But there's always breakfast." Finn smiled.
"Fair enough." She sighed, and followed Finn to the café.
Bad end of chapter, I know. This story isn't supposed to be very long…
Chapter 4…just so everyone knows, this will be the last or second to last chapter. This story wasn't meant to be very long… Now Raindrops, on the other hand… :)
I'm typing this while snuggling with my Finn teddy car! ^_^
Enjoy. But first; thank you to those who reviewed!
Chapter 4
Roughly six months after all this had begun, Holley sat on the cliff, waiting for Finn to return from his very long mission. He had been gone for almost two months, now, and it was driving her crazy not seeing him. She had told Mater she'd be fine alone, and really just wanted to talk to Finn.
Suddenly she heard the sound of tires slowly rolling over the dirt and stones. She turned around.
"Hello, Holley." Finn smiled.
Holley faintly smiled, but stopped and said, "Finn, I… I need to talk to you."
"What is it?" Finn asked, driving closer to Holley.
"Well, first of all, we found out what it is."
"Really? What is it, then?"
"A girl."
"That's wonderful, Holley." Finn smiled.
"Finn…" Holley looked off into the sunset. It was her favorite time of day to be up here. "What are we going to do when…?" She asked, fear evident in her voice.
"I'm glad you asked." Finn told her. "I've been talking to CHROME, and they said it would be best to place her up for adoption, or have the agency take her and train her as a spy. Or, you can also choose to keep her, of course…"
"And I get to decide what happens?" Holley confirmed.
"Of course."
Holley thought for a moment. "I think it would be best to put her up for adoption, and have her raised by a normal family, and not undertake the burden of being a spy." She decided.
Finn smiled. "A wise decision, Miss Shiftwell."
…
"So you is gonna put 'er up fer adoption?" Mater asked.
"That's right, Mater."
"Ya know, you done could've kept her…" Mater shuffled his tire through the dirt below his feet.
"Why is that, Mater?" Holley narrowed her eyes in curiosity.
"'Cause… Holley?"
"Yes, Mater?"
"Uh… Ya done love me, right?"
"Of course, Mater." Holley smiled.
"Well… Since I done love ya, too… Miss Holley, will you… Marry me…?"
Holley gasped.
"…of course I will, Mater!" She grinned.
"Dad gum! I was scared ta death you was gonna say no! I'm so glad you done said yes!" Mater said, swinging his tow cable around. Holley laughed for the first time in months.
…
"Finn! Finn, guess what!" Holley said, racing up the cliff where Finn was.
"Holley! Slow down! You shouldn't be going that speed in your condition!" Finn was becoming more overprotective as time progressed.
"Sorry…" Holley said skidding to a stop. She couldn't stop smiling.
"Holley? What happened?" Finn raised an eyelid.
"Mater happened." She said, still grinning. Finn looked at her with a confused look. "Mater asked me to marry him."
I know, extremely short, and I am SO sorry for that…I had a ton of homework…(CURSE YOU SEVENTH GRADE!) I had to type an essay for Language Arts, do research on a dude named Hernando de Soto for Social Studies, label triangles for math(OMG what a challenge! :O *Sarcasm*), which wasn't hard at all, but it still took up time! _
Chapter 5! This will be a kinda long chapter because it's the last one. But there may be a sequel! :) Maybe. Probably… You know what, instead of raising possible false hope, why don't I just go ahead and thank those who reviewed?
Chapter 5
"He… He did?" Finn smiled.
Holley nodded energetically.
"Holley, that's wonderful! But… Do calm down…"
…
Eight months pregnant, Holley was pacing around inside Siddeley. Finn wanted her to come with him so they could contact C.H.R.O.M.E. together.
"Calm down, Holley. It's almost over." Finn frowned.
"Almost isn't good enough!" She snapped.
"Holley! Relax! Please."
Holley sighed and nodded. "I'm sorry, Finn… I just…"
"I know, Holley."
…
Lightning came racing into town.
"LIGHTNIN'! How many times have I got ta tell ya—" The Sheriff started to scold.
"Chick's coming!" Lightning cried.
Everyone suddenly had worried expressions on their faces. Everyone except Finn and Holley, who had confused looks.
Lightning rolled over to them, and dropped his voice. "Um… Holley? You might wanna… Chick has a tendency to… Assume stuff, and I'm pretty sure Mater would introduce you…"
Finn and Holley nodded.
"Come on, Holley." Finn motioned for Holley to follow him.
…
Holley was safely inside Siddeley by the time Chick came driving into town.
"Hey, McQueen!"
"What?" Lightning asked.
"I heard there was a hot British chick here. Where is she?" Chick asked eagerly.
"She's not here." Finn spoke up in a stern voice.
Chick looked at him for a second. "Well, then where is she? You'd know, right?
"I'm afraid that's classified."
"Yeah! Stay away from 'er!" Mater angrily said.
"Well, what do we have here? Why are you so concerned, tow truck?"
Finn looked at Mater as if to tell him to keep quiet. Of course, Mater ignored him.
"She's my fiancé!"
Chick burst out laughing. "Ha! Yeah, right!" He said and drove away laughing.
Mater looked down sadly. Lightning drove over to him to comfort him. Finn drove over, too.
"McQueen, how long do you suppose Chick will stay?"
"…Considering how fast he drove away… I'd say he's leaving town."
"So it's safe for Holley to come back out?"
"I'd say so." Lightning shrugged.
Finn nodded and drove away.
…
"I am absolutely tired of waiting…" Holley exclaimed while she and Finn were driving around with Mater.
"Well, you've done an excellent job of it. You just have to remember—"
"Yes, a spy is patient, I know… But I just hate this! I don't even have anything to be excited about! She's going to be put up for adoption!"
"Holley, you can keep her, if you wish…" Finn reminded her.
"I know, but…" Holley sighed.
"Hol, you know I wouldn't mind." Mater told her.
"I know, Mater, but I would…"
"We understand, Holley."
"Jist keep in mind tha' it's almost over…"
Holley smiled at her fiancé.
…
A month later, Holley sat at the café. She was listening to the conversations around her. There was Luigi and Guido speaking in Italian, though she understood every word, Sarge and Fillmore were arguing over something, Lizzie was sleeping, Flo was talking to Mia and Tia about something, and Lightning was talking to Ramone about something. Everyone else was either off doing their job, like Mater, or enjoying the nice day elsewhere.
All she could think about was how much she missed Finn.
Holley sighed and drove from the café. She didn't want to go too far, considering the condition she was in, but she just felt like… Driving. She really loved this town, but staying here for almost a year was… Well, it had gotten boring, as much as she hated to admit it. There wasn't exactly a lot to do.
Lost in thought again, she couldn't help but feel depressed about her situation once again. Why her? When was it going to be over? Why couldn't it just be over?
Suddenly the sound of a jet was heard, causing everyone to look to the skies. It was Siddeley!
"Finn!" Holley smiled, and drove towards his usual landing site, careful not to go too fast.
…
"Holley!" Finn smiled, surprised. I'd have thought you were relaxing at the café or something."
Holley shook her head. "I saw Sid and drove over here as fast as I could."
Finn's smile was replaced by a concerned expression. "Not too fast, right?"
Holley smiled and shook her head. "No, I was careful." She reassured. "So, how was your mission? Did everything go smoothly?"
Finn chuckled. "It would have helped to have you and your electro-shockers along…"
"I wish I could've gone with you…" Holley looked to the ground sadly.
"Soon, Holley." Finn smiled as he drove up next to her. "Now, come on. I promised Siddeley's I'd get him something."
…
A few days later, Finn and Holley were casually driving through town enjoying the clouds that blocked out the usual hot sun. Everyone was informed of the rare chance of rain, which made Holley a bit excited. Having not been back in England or almost a year, she was beginning to miss the rain.
Suddenly, a sharp pain rippled inside Holley. She stopped and winced in pain.
"Holley?" Finn turned in confusion. "What's the matter?"
"I… I don't know, I…" She took a deep breath.
"Do you think it's…" Finn's tone was more concerned than before.
"…yeah, it—it has to be." She decided.
"Come on. Let's get you to the clinic." Finn held out his tire and he and Holley drove side by side in the direction they came from.
…
Finn was pacing the ground outside the Radiator Springs clinic.
"Son, you need to calm down." Said a voice behind him. Finn turned to see the Sheriff.
"I can't just calm down! Holley's in there, and… Mater isn't even here to—" Finn's eyes widened. "Bloody hell, I forgot about Mater." He scolded himself. "Excuse me," Finn told Sheriff and hastily made his way back to Siddeley. He turned on his radio.
"Sid!" Finn called into it.
"Huh?" He sounded groggy. He must have been napping, Finn thought. "What's up? What do you need?"
"I need to call Mater. Have the computer ready, I'm on my way to you."
"I'm pretty sure Mater and Lightning are busy with their race—"
"Siddeley, it's Holley. We have to get him."
…
"Does he know?" the Sheriff asked once Finn returned.
"Siddeley's on his way to bring him back here. Anything happen while I was gone?"
"Nope."
Finn let out a sigh of relief.
"Finn, you need to calm down. She's going to be alright."
"…I know, but…"
They heard Holley cry out in pain from inside.
Finn wanted to drive in and help somehow, but Sheriff stopped him.
"She's fine." He told him sternly.
Finn sighed and backed up. "I'm going to kill Tomber…"
"Didn't you already put him in prison? Isn't that enough?"
Finn was silent.
The two cars heard another cry of pain. Finn looked worriedly towards the door.
"She will be fine." Sheriff said, enunciating each word.
…
"Ah'm here! Ah'm here!" Mater was racing towards the clinic a few hours later. Finn let out a sigh of relief.
"Is Holley alright?" He asked once he had gotten to Finn.
"I… I think so." Finn told him.
"How long have ya been waitin'?" Mater asked.
"Not long." Finn replied.
"Mr. McMissile?"
Finn and Mater turned to see a car peeking out the doors of the clinic. She motioned for he and Mater to come inside.
Holley was now asleep, and there was a small indigo Jaguar in a small crib. Mater rushed over to her, while Finn slowly drove up to the infant car. She looked up at Finn with the same eyes as Holley's. The nurse and doctor left, and Finn settled himself off to the side.
The end! Yeah, I know, the ending sucked…Review if you wanna. :) It would make me ha-ppy! (3 Oh, and keep an eye out for the sequel that's to take place about… 10… 15 years after the first story.
