Kairi woke up, she was feeling bad again, even though she didn't know why. But what she did know was that she hoped it would pass.

She got ready and had breakfast, but it felt like her body was on auto-polit, like she wasn't even in her own mind.

By the time she got to school and managed to get through her morning, she had lunch with her brothers and sisters. But thankfully none of them noticed how weird she was acting.

She didn't want to worry them.

What surprised Kairi the most was that Edward was sitting away from the family and got Bella to sit beside him.

She overheard the ending of their conversation of what was being talked about.

"It's healthy to ditch class every now and then." Edward was saying to Bella.

What did that even mean?

But as soon as the bell rang for their next class, Kairi made her way to her locker and brought out her biology books, wondering what they'll be doing this week.

She walked down the halls with her books in hand.

Kairi stopped as soon as she saw Mike entering the classroom, so she waited for a few minutes, she took a deep breath in which proved to be a giant mistake since she ended up coughing, or as she liked to call her worse coughing, hacking her lungs up. She placed her hand over her mouth to muffle her cough, once she was done she took in some long slow and long breathes in and out, just like how her daddy taught her to do through her panic attacks.

Once she was calmer and no longer wheezing, she walked into the classroom. And went to her usual spot, but she noticed how Edward wasn't there this time. She frowned, it wasn't like Edward ditching class.

She looked into her book of lyrics that she wrote, keeping her head down. Kairi closed the notebook as Mr Banner came into the room, then called the class to order. He was juggling a few cardboxes in his arms, he went to put them down onto Mike's table, telling him to start passing them around.

"Okay, guys, I want you all to take one piece from each box." he said as he produced a pair of rubber gloves from the pocket of his lab jacket and pulled them on.

Kairi frowned deeply, she didn't like this at all. But she waited to see what he would do first then decide if she should play pretend time. He continued to talk and he jabbed the spike into the tip of Mike's middle finger.

Her stomach flipped and she felt more iller, Kairi then closed her eyes and laid her head on the table as the room started to spin, making her dizzy.

She wasn't sure how long she laid her head on the table but suddenly she felt a gentle hand on her shoulder so she looked up, which made her wince.

"Kairi, are you all right?" Mr Banner asked, his bow wrinkled with concern. "Are you feeling faint?"

"Yes." she said, breaking off mid sentence. "Tummy hurts."

She knew she was slipping, as Emmett called it, when she would sound like a child with a stomach ache.

"Can someone take Kairi to the nurse, please?"

Kairi didn't have to look up to know it would be Mike fucking Newton who volunteered. She whimpered. "I want Big Em…"

"You know he's in another class. But Mike is capable of taking you."

Mike helped her up and walked out of the classroom. Once she was a safe distance away, she stopped walking, and laid down on my side, my cheek against the cold cement of the sidewalk, which helped with her dizziness.

"Wow, you're green, Kairi."

Kairi closed her eyes, not wanting to feel unsafe around him, Mike didn't make her feel safe.

He only made her feel scared as he looked at her with that scary look.

"Kairi?" asked a different voice. "What's wrong? Are you hurt?"

"I think she fainted, I don't know what happened, she didn't even pick her finger."

Suddenly the sidewalk disappeared and she whimpered, biting back a cry of her distress. She knew Edward had picked her up.

"It's weak that she's acting like that."

"No, Kairi's the stronger kid I know in this school, and you would know if you actually got to know her instead of spreading rumors and making her feel scared." Edward told him strictly. "Go back to class, she's my sister, I'll take her to the nurse."

Kairi whined, she felt Edward stopped. "Kai?"

But she passed out from the pain, when she woke she knew they were at the nurse's office, she looked at Edward.

"Ed…"

He looked at her in surprise. "You're awake?"

She nodded against his chest and mumbled, "sorry."

"Don't be. It isn't your fault, Carlisle should've been warned about today…" but then he stopped, "I should've warned you, I'll do better next time."

She nodded, "Love you."

"Love you too, sis."

"Oh, dear." said the school nurse, gasping in shock.

Did she really look that bad?

"She fainted in biology, they're blood type." Edward explained.

Edward walked with me in his arms, going to the cot and he laid me down, pushing a strand of her hair from her sweaty face.

"She's just a little faint." Edward said.

The nurse nodded sagely. "There's always one." she then turned to her. "Just lie there for a little while, you'll feel better."

Kairi nodded silently, her eyes widened. She then looks to Edward, "you can go back to class, Ed. I'll be fine, promise."

"Is that what you want?"

She nodded. "I'll be okay."

He nodded and kissed her head gently. "Try to get some sleep, you're pale."

Kairi nodded and instantly fell into a deep slumber.

When she woke she heard Edward again, shouldn't he be avoiding class right now? Why did he come back? Did the school nurse call her daddy?

But then a female voice came, Bella. Did she faint too?

"I was in my car, listening to a CD." Edward told Bella.

Of course he was. But decided not to stay quiet. "Eddy?"

Edward looked at her and gave her a gentle smile and placed a hand on top of her hair. "How ya feeling, Kai?"

"Better, I think." she said. "How long?"

"Not too long. I had to come back with Bella after she fainted right after you." he said. "Probably around 30 minutes or so."

"Oh."

Suddenly she heard the door open and she could instantly smell the blood as well as Mike's scent. So Kairi practically jumped out of the cot and went for the door before Edward could even say anything.

She found herself at the school library instead of going back to class, she went to the kids' selection and picked out the book, Inkheart by cornlina fuke. Which is her favorite fantasy book that she loves to get herself lost into. She went to her usual spot.

In a little corner that had a window that overlooked the car park, she sat on the counter, her back against the pillow and opened the book.

It wasn't until she felt a hand on her shoulder, a cold one. She looked up to see Emmett, a look of concern on his face.

Edward must've told him what happened.

"Em?" she asked, hating how small her voice sounded.

"Hey, Bambi." he said, using her nickname. "Ed told us what happened. Ya all right?"

"I asked for you." she mumbled. "I didn't want to be near Mike."

"I know, it's all right. I'm here now." he said as he ran a hand up and down her back, trying to comfort her. "Wanna talk about it?"

Kairi shook her head, but said nothing else. Just let Emmett taking her in his arms, his back to the cool window, letting the human curl against him and comforting her

It must've been an hour, then Emmett asked, "wanna go home? I'm sure Carslie won't mind if ya skip for the afternoon."

"Can i?"

He nodded, "Just say the word and I'll take ya home myself."

She nodded. "Please."

"All right. Come on then. Ya had a shitty day." he said, he took the book from her and placed it back then came straight back.

"All right, Bambi." he said as he picked her up into his arms. "Let's get ya home."

She nodded and hid her face in his chest. The rocking was smoothing for her but then it stopped.

"Rose, call Carlisle, let him know what happened." Emmett told her. She felt a cold hand on her cheek so it made her look at her big sis with tear stained cheeks.

Rosalie closed her eyes for a moment then looked at her with a soft smile. "Hey there, how ya feeling?"

She didn't say anything but just hid her face into Emmett's chest again, not talking.

"She ain't in the mood to talk, Rose. Today….I think today's been a bit much for her." he said.

"They should've warned us yesterday about this lesson. They know Kairi has a traumatic past, I just hope this wasn't a big setback." Rosealie said in a whisper.

"Me too, Rose." Emmett said gently. "She had been doing so well yesterday and now there's this."

Rosealie nodded. Then left, getting her phone out. Emmett walked outside to the car, and suddenly Kairi remembered her bag. "Em? I left my bag."

Emmett stopped. "Ed's probably got it now, he'll bring it home afterwards, okay?"

She nodded and let him put her in the side passenger seat. "Need help bucking in?"

Kairi shook her head and put the belt on, Emmett nodded and got in the driver's seat. He turned the music on, which was a heavy hip-hop song and one of her favorites, I'm good by Blaque.

"Do ya want me to change it?"

Kairi shook her head and put her head against the window and closed her eyes. When she woke up, she found herself in bed. Her mom is sitting on a chair, reading a book. She looked up and smiled at Kairi.

"How are you feeling, sweetie?"

"Mom?"

"I'm here." she said, gently. "You've been out for a while. Carlisle is coming home to check on you."

But then her mom looked out to the door with a smile. "He's home now. I'll get him."

Kairi nodded, "Love you."

"I love you too, sweetheart. So much."

With that being said, her mom left so Kairi looked to the roof, letting the silence fill her. But she couldn't help but wonder if her dad was mad at her.

The door opened and she looked to see him looking worried about her. "Hey sweetheart."

He took her hand in his much colder ones, giving a gentle smile. "How are you feeling? Rose told me what happened."

Kairi's smile faded and she looked away towards the window. He placed a hand on her cheek, turning her head back to him, forcing to look at him.

"Kairi…" he said, his voice full of concern. "Talk to me. I need to know what you're feeling for such a breakdown to happen like this. Was it really just the blood type or is there more to this?"

"I ... .Mike took me to the nurse, but when I laid down ... .he was towering over me, it frightened me as he looked at me like that, lustful. I didn't like it."

He sighed, "oh, baby girl. I can imagine that gave you a setback." Carlisle said, "No wonder why you were frightened. Do you want a hug?"

She nodded and sat up as Carlisle laid on her left side and she curled up against him, letting him put his arms around her.

"I asked for Em…but…they said that he was in class."

"They would have still gotten him pretty easily. Don't worry, I'll speak to them, I promise. How was today?"

"Bad, like 1 out of 10, daddy." she mumbled, "It was stressful. I know school isn't supposed to be easy…but today was really stressful."

"All right, I'll speak with them tomorrow. Just keep doing what you're doing which is ignoring him."

"What if he touches me, daddy? Will you think I'm weak or bad?" Kairi asked as she looked up with tears in her eyes.

"You're not weak or bad, Kairi. I don't want to hear that from you. You just had a horrible day, sweetheart. You didn't do anything wrong." he said, "and if he touches you in any way that makes you uncomfortable, scared or in a way you didn't want him to, you'll tell someone, whenever it's a teacher, Emmett, Edward or even Rose and Alice. Understand?"

Kairi nodded and laid her head against his shoulders, finally feeling safe in her daddy's arms and fell into a deep and peaceful sleep for the rest of the night.
