Prologue
Death and back again
Pain tore Bardock's mind and body apart as the the blazing ball of death swallowed him whole in the cold irradiated space above his home planet. He struggled to keep himself from being completely evaporated by the immense power of Frieza's attack, but he couldn't hold on much longer as his scream was drowned out by the blaring, chirping, and sizzling of the energy that tore him apart.
In his last moments before he was utterly obliterated down to the last atom, he saw his son Kakarot facing off against Frieza on a far away planet and the two collided with their punches connecting, then the vision shattered and he saw himself standing amidst a blasted and smoking battlefield as gunfire and bullets flew all around him. Women and robots with rifles and guns zipped across the battlefield as small artillery blasted holes into the ground all around them with blaring booms, kicking up dirt and shrapnel. The sky was naught but gray clouds and the air itself stung his skin and lungs as he breathed it in. It was as if the very air was filled with a biting radiation that was attacking him itself.
No more than ten or so meters away an exceptionally tall woman in black body armor with rather short black shorts and long black hair that fell down to her back. She stepped forwards confidently towards him with a confident smile. Her red eyes were sharp and haughty, and in her right hand was a long curved black blade that extended over three meters. In her left hand was a large pistol that hummed with a crackling white energy. Her creme white skin was completely unblemished, giving her an almost unbefitting look for the dirty battlefield.
Several rounds flashed towards her and with one swift cut of her blade, she effortlessly sliced them down.
"Know your place trashy doll" She said with venom in her voice, turning her head to the source of the gunfire, a young looking blonde girl who had large blue eyes and a thin frame standing barely less than half her height. In her tiny hands was a FNC pointing straight at the black haired lady. She wore a white button up shirt with a brown skirt that was marred with ash and dirt. Two golden hair clips with large golden Xs on them held her bangs, and a small brown beret adorned the back of her head.
In a single sword slash by the large black blade, a shockwave shot out towards the small girl who was nigh instantly struck and shattered into shards of scrap metal that was flung dozens of meters back.
In that moment, Bardock jumped forward towards the woman in front of him, pulling his fist back with immense speed and the vision shattered again to see his son Kakarot fighting with Frieza again, but this time he was Golden with a violent golden aura tinged with red that threatened to overwhelm everything around him, and his son's hair was blue with a sparkling blue aura around him that strongly resisted the immense pressure exuded by the Tyrant's power. They fought at incomprehensible speeds and the vision shattered like glass again.
Then all he saw was blackness before he vaguely heard someone speak in the faraway distance. He couldn't make it out but it was a woman that was panicking and she said something about the time scrolls being broken and that the crack of time was on the verge of being destroyed, but he had no idea what either of those things where. It seemed that she hadn't noticed him as he floated through the darkness and felt himself falling again.
Shortly after, he felt cold metal underneath him as various voices shouted and gunfire cracked and spit. He tried to force himself to wake up, but he couldn't. His body still hadn't healed enough, and all his energy was being used to repair the major damage he had suffered.
Soon the voices and sounds were gone as he fell deeper into the depths of unconsciousness. For an unknown time he rested asleep like that before the sounds of a young girls voice shook him from his slumber, after which he woke to the stinging air around him.
Bardock awoke to find himself lying on a cold steel table, his arms, legs, and neck bound by several steel cuffs that looked thick enough to be slabs in and of themselves. His head pounded and he felt the metallic tinge of blood in his mouth. All around him was a prison cell somewhere deep underground judging by the pressure that lightly tugged at him, however this planet's gravity was much weaker than that of Vegeta's so it had very little effect on him.
He was bleeding from the wounds he had gotten before he attacked Frieza, and his body was severely burned from the death ball, yet his most severe injuries were bandaged and some even had been scabbing over. His armor had been removed and he was completely naked. His tail had wrapped around his waist and he was quite groggy. He felt the effects of what seemed to be sedatives and sure enough, there was a bottle of liquid on a steel rolling table next to him along with several other bottles of pills. Whoever kidnapped him must have had him swallow these sedatives in his sleep while he was recovering.
His cracked armor and boots lay folded and sitting on a table next to the bed, however, sadly his bandanna had been dispatched of. Whoever removed it clearly knew nothing of it's significance.
The pills and sedatives were a smart move by his captors, but it wasn't enough. Not by a long shot. Part of the training in Frieza's army was using your energy to resist and shake off poisons and sedatives when resisting capture. Flaring his energy with a slight growl, the steel restraints shattered and the shards of metal shot across the room like bullets, embedding themselves in the concrete walls.
Quickly donning his armor, he prepared for whatever was coming. Despite his lack of scouter, a Saiyan's sense of smell, hearing, and sight was far better than that of a human's.
Draping his legs off the edge of the steel bed, he heard the running of footsteps outside of his closed off cell. At the corner of the room at the far end, a camera had been filming everything, and his escape had been picked up on. Summoning more of his energy, the drowsiness faded away and he felt energized despite his injuries.
He heard several dozen people arriving in front of his cell and a woman's voice spoke through an opening in the door.
"Get back to your bed, prisoner" She said, slowly pulling open the heavy metal door.
He wished he had his scouter so he could know what he was dealing with, but he was not afforded that unfortunately.
As it slid open, he was greeted by several dozen nearly identical women in black body armor with long black hair, light synthetic skin and large pink visors. They all held rifles or other variants of guns and the one who was supposedly speaking was actually just holding a small speaker silently.
"In your dreams. I'm getting out of this shithole" Bardock spoke, raising his right hand up to the women at the door, and a bright ball of Ki burst into being with a violent yellow sparkling and chirping.
"Resistance is futile" the woman spoke through the speakers, and the women all fired at Bardock, and for just a moment, all one could see was the bright flashes of gunfire and the sounds of bullets striking concrete.
When the sounds died down, all that could be seen or heard was the chirping of a violent energy. Bardock was unscathed.
Then the ball of energy was released.
It was for all intents and purposes a simple blast of Ki. Not one meant to do too much damage, but when it struck the women in front of him, it showed it's mighty power. It was small and simple, but his captors obviously would not think so when looking back at this event.
BOOM
The earth shook and rocked as if struck by a meteor as a blinding yellow light enveloped over half of the entire fortified compound. Steel, doll, bunker and concrete alike were effortlessly torn apart and obliterated like paper as Bardock's blast erased everything it touched for hundreds of meters.
When the shaking died down and the blinding light of his Ki died down, what was originally a large military compound was now little more than a smoking crater with Bardock standing in the middle.
Sangvis Ferri had just lost a compound, and now were beginning to be aware of just what had fallen into their hands. What they would do in return was yet to be seen, However, Bardock was not an easy target. Not by a long shot.
