Dragon Mind Struggle in the First Round

Izuku: Even though we were told to have fun, those in the tournament couldn't relax.

Izuku is shown sitting with Mashirao for the tail boy to inform him about Hitoshi and his Quirk hoping he doesn't fall for the same thing he did in the Cavalry Battle.

Some tries to come up with a strategy.

Yuga is seen resting in the Recovery Girl's temporary nurse's office to get his stomach to calm down from the pain and getting his mind to be ready to.

Some tried to rest their bodies.

Tenya is carrying a few cans of orange soda in one arm while drinking another can just to get himself fueled with plenty of energy for the tournament.

There were those who prepped for the fight.

Katsuki is surprisingly doing nothing except staring at a wall for some reason, being quiet and not letting out his usual rage shouts as he is saving his own energy for the big fights.

Or tried to hype themselves up.

Shoto is sitting alone in the shadows of the stadium and among trees, getting his mind ready for the tournament where he will face Izuku in the second fight and pushed his father away once and for all.

And others still who just focused on trying to calm their nerves.

Ochaco, Tsuyu, and even Momo are still doing some cheering as a way to calm their nerves down from the crazy tension that awaits them soon even though they are still nervous on the inside because some aren't exactly sure what to expect in the tournament.

We wanted to be ready for anything. And before we knew it, the finals began.

The scene shows a long and large tube out on the field and the Pro Hero Cementoss using his Cement Quirk to create the fighting stage for the tournament, and he is just about done.

"That's it, I'm pretty much done here." Cementoss finished his work.

Cementoss appears to be a humanoid block of cement with black, seemingly shut eyes and gray hair tied into a short ponytail. His body shape is evenly blocky all around his body. His eyes are generally closed (but tiny when opened) and his lips are pulled upwards. His hero costume consists of a sleeveless brown suit that includes yellow stripes, shorts, and an elongated collar. He also sports gray shoes with yellow soles.

"Thank you, Cementoss!"Present Mic thanked.

"Hey, sports fans! Are you ready?" Present Mic asked with a grin, and the crowd gave their answer by shouting the loudest they can for they are excited for the final round.

"After all the action you've already witnessed, it's time for the real battles to begin! Can you feel the excitement?"Present Mic excited with his fists pumping.

"Our competitors are on their own now. Sometimes, heroes have only themselves to rely on! Heart. Skill. Strength. Wisdom. Courage. They'll have to use all those things to rise to the top!"Present Mic stated.

"Izuku is going to dominate the first match no problem!" Tohru grinned.

"True, with his dragon powers, these matches will be a cakewalk for him." Elma nodded while eating some tacos.

"Duh, I trained him myself to be a strong dragon warrior. You could say I really outdid myself." Tohru grinned.

(With Izuku)

Izuku is standing close to the exit of the tunnel, waiting for the call to be made and clearing up his mind from any doubts and fears he has within himself as he is about to face Hitoshi as his first fight in the tournament.

He just hopes that he'll remember the talk he had with Mashirao in the waiting room.

"Hey." Toshinori called out, surprising Izuku as he turns around to see him walking up to him.

"Sorry, I haven't said hi. You've been great. You harness One for All." Toshinori smiled at his successor with a thumbs up.

"Thank you. I got the idea from Lucoa when she pointed out that I needed to start off small then work my way up. The power I used on that robot was only 10%." Izuku explained.

"No kidding, only 10% on that giant robot? Wow, guess the rest of that strength must've come from your dragon strength." Toshinori was impressed.

"Yeah, it's amazing. It's a wonder if I have been able to get this far in high school because of some dumb luck and my friends." Izuku chuckled.

But out of nowhere, Toshinori chop his hands on both the head and under the chin which was unexpected.

"All I wanna hear you say is that you'll do your best, dammit. There's no such thing as luck. You're never gonna become the hero you want if you believe in somethin' like that." Toshinori scolded.

"Okay, okay, but did you really have to hit me like that?" Izuku exclaimed a little.

"Listen, whenever you're scared ornervous about a fight. Just try and deal with it by smiling! You've made it this far, kid. Even if you're worried, you must stand tail!"All Might encouraged as he transformed into his hero form.

"Don't forget that I'm counting on you and cheering you on!"All Might said with a thumbs up.

Izuku gave him a nod and turn around knowing that he is going to make it through to the end with everything he got, and he can feel within his dragon instincts that he'll win this tournament making his way to the top.

Outside, the crowd are cheering loudly as they couldn't wait another second for the final round of the UA Sports Festival to get started while four pillars of fire burst from each corner.

"Alright, audience! Let's cut the good stuff and not delay these finals any longer." Present Mic said.

"Welcome our fist fighters." Present Mic announced before the screen changed to Izuku and Hitoshi.

"Whoa, he looks kinda scary in the picture, doesn't he? It's Izuku Midoriya from the Hero Course versus…" Present Mic commented on Izuku's face in the picture as the dragon boy himself walks to the stage.

"Hitoshi Shinso from General Studies, who really hasn't done anything to stand out yet." Present Mic introduced Hitoshi.

"The rules are simple. Immobilize your opponent or force them outta the ring! You can also win by getting the other person to cry uncle!" Present Mic explained the rule of the tournament." Present Mic explained the simple rules of the fighting tournament.

"Bring on the injuries 'cause we've got our very own Recovery Girl waiting on standby! So, put your morals aside and don't be afraid to play dirty!" Present Mic mentioned the nurse hero of UA High.

"But of course, no life-threatening crap, folks. It's not allowed! Real heroes use their power to throw villains in jail, not kill them." Present Mic reminded them on what being a hero is.

"I'll stop anyone who tries to get too rough." Cementoss added after using his Quirk to make himself a chair to be on bystand.

"You got this, Izuku!" Tohru shouted with love, making Izuku wave at her.

"So, you can just give up, huh?" Hitoshi said, getting Izuku's attention.

"In a way, this is a test of how strong your spirit is. If you know what you want your future to hold for you, you can't worry about what other people think." Hitoshi stated with a slightly dark expression.

"Ready?" Present Mic asked loudly.

"That monkey was going on about his pride earlier." Hitoshi mentioned Mashirao.

"Begin!" Present Mic announced the start of the first match.

"But I just think he's an idiot for throwing away his chance like that. A fucking idiot." Hitoshi stated, believing that Mashirao is going to end up a loser like that.

Hearing this got Izuku to feel angry from within as his wings shakes with his anger and let out a soft growl, then he walks up to Hitoshi.

"Don't you talk about him that way! You hear me!" Izuku was angered as he was about to jump at him for a punch to the face.

However, Izuku suddenly stop his approach, and his face became blank like the life left his body and Hitoshi grins believing that this idiot fell right into his trap.

"That's it. I win." Hitoshi said.

"I warned him not to say anything!" Mashirao groaned.

"Hey, hey, what's the dealio? This is the first match! It should start out with a bang!" Present Mic was shocked with confusion.

"Huh, why did papa stop?" Kanna was confused, along with everyone else in the stadium as well.

"(Oh dear, something must've happened to him, and it was that boy's doing.)" Midnight thought looked over to Hitoshi who is grinning.

"Come on, Deku!" Ochaco started to feel worried for him.

"Why in the world isn't he moving?" Tenya asked in confusion.

"The fight has just begun and Izuku Midoriya is… completely frozen?!" Present Mic gasped.

"Hey, what happened to dominating the field with dragon might? And why does his face look like he's in a deep trance?" Tohru asked, noticing the weird face Izuku is making.

"It almost looks like the same face I make whenever I get hungry and there aren't any foods around." Elma commented before eating a big bowl of ramen.

"He's not moving a muscle! And what's with that look on his face? Could this be a Quirk at work? Hitoshi Shinso seems to have Izuku Midoriya completely stunned!" Present Mic commented in shock.

"Hmm, it looks like that Hitoshi boy is more than meets the eye." Lucoa said.

"He didn't stand out in the first round at all, but it's possible Shinso's crazy powerful!" Present Mic gasped.

"Who would have thought this would be a turn of event? That's the festival for ya!" Present Mic commented, feeling a little excited from this.

"This is a perfect example of why the UA entrance exam isn't rational, not like the entrance exam I heard about Musashi." Aizawa stated.

"Okay, why's that." Present Mic asked curiously on what's on Eraser Head's mind on this match.

"Since we're on the individual matches, I had information compiled about our final competitors." Aizawa looked down at the two papers about both Izuku and Hitoshi though his eyes are more on Hitoshi.

"Shinso's failed the practical exam to get into the hero course. Since he also applied for the general studies, he probably figured that would happen. His Quirk is incredibly strong, but the entrance test consisted of fighting foe villains, robots. It gave a huge advantage to those who had physical superpowers they could show off." Aizawa explained about Shinso.

"Despite his abilities, Shinso never stood a chance at passing." Aizawa looked down at Hitoshi, thinking that for some reason they're similar in a way.

"I don't get it, did that purple hair guy do something to papa?" Kanna asked the others.

"From what I can tell, the type of Quirk Shinso has is like mine. Not for physical combat, but affective in other ways." Kobayashi said.

"If I had to guess, I would say his Quirk might something like… brainwashing or something that has to do with mind control." Shouta theorized.

"So, here we are. You're so lucky to have been so blessed, Izuku Midoriya." Hitoshi complimented sarcastically. He always felt a bit jealous of those with stronger Quirks.

"Now turn around and walk out of bonds like a good little hero." Hitoshi commanded.

And with that, the mind-controlled Izuku turned around and begin walking toward the edge of the fighting stage for Hitoshi to win.

"Uh—What?! Ah! Midoriya's obeying him!" Present Mic gasped in horror.

"Oh no, Deku, what are you doing?" Ochaco asked, feeling really worried for Izuku.

"He can't walk out of the ring! He'll lose the match if he does!" Tenya freaked out.

Katsuki is just staring at Izuku and a little more on Hitoshi, the exploding boy may already figure out that guy's Quirk and why the idiot Deku is acting this way.

Toshinori is watching this in horror that this purple hair kid suddenly has the upper hand in this match for an easy win, this scares him that Young Midoriya is going to lose.

"(What is this power?)" Toshinori thought wondered.

Hitoshi Shinso. His Quirk: Brainwashing! When an opponent answers his question, it flips a switch in their minds, forcing them to do whatever he says. Not ever question does it though. He only brainwashes when he wants to.

"(In the fitness test on the first day of school, Midoriya scored first place which gotten him to earn his place in the hero course. Still, even in tests where he didn't use his Quirk, he outperformed Shinso.)" Aizawa thought recalled seeing Izuku being strong throughout his time here.

"(If they fought without powers, Midoriya would certainly win. But he'd have to overcome Shinso's Brainwashing to do that. Either way, this match will be over quickly.)" Aizawa thought knew this battle won't be long.

"What are you doing, kid? Get back in there and show 'im what you're made of!" Toshinori freaked out, hoping for something to happen.

"Deku!" Tohru shouted in fear.

"Izuku, you have to break out and win this!" Inko called out to her son, really hoping for something to happen that will save Izuku from losing like this.

While Izuku's body is moving from the command of Hitoshi's Quirk, his mind is struggling to break free and it's not doing so well.

"(What's happening? My body is moving on its own. I feel like my brain is full of fog. I can't concentrate.)" Izuku thought saw he is getting closer to out of bond.

"(No! Not like this. Gotta stops, damnit!)" Izuku thought feared that he is going to lose on the first match.

"(I fell for it, even after Ojiro warned me about his power. I'm an idiot.)" Izuku thought cursed himself for not heeding Mashirao's words.

(Moments before the First Match)

"So, his Quirk is that he can control other people? Can I beat something like that?" Izuku asked, gulping a little in fear.

"Yes. By not giving him a chance to use it. He didn't get into my head until I answered a question he asked me before the second round. I think that's the secret behind his power." Mashirao stated.

"So, I have to be careful not to say anything or I'll lose for sure." Izuku feared.

"Not exactly. Even if he gets you, there's still a chance." Mashirao said.

"For round two, I don't remember anything at all except the very end of the battle." Mashirao mentioned.

(Flashback)

The scene shows Hitoshi, having used his Brainwashing Quirk on Tetsutetsu to steal his headband as his team move past them.

"I think we were running away after Shinso took Tetsutetsu's headband. I bumped into another person, and it was like I woke up. I was me again." Mashirao explained.

Mashirao's shoulder bumped into Ibara's shoulder causing him to wake up from the trance and looked around very confused.

(Flashback End)

"And suddenly I was able to think clearly." Mashirao finished his story.

"So, that bump broke his hold?" Izuku asked.

"Maybe. It's only a guess. Still… I don't know how much of a shock it would take to break his spell. And in a one-on-one match, you can't count on an outside force intervening to help you." Mashirao pointed out.

"Anyway, man, I hope that's helpful, 'cause it's all I know." Mashirao said as he stood up.

"Thank you so much. You're a good guy, Ojiro." Izuku thanked him.

"I know this sounds selfish, but I'll say it anyway. Beat this guy for you and me, all right?" Mashirao held out his fist to him.

"I'll do my best." Izuku promised and does the fist-bump.

(Present)

"(I'm going to lose. It's all over.)" Izuku thought feared.

Then something slams into the ground preventing Izuku from moving to the edge any closer, everyone is in shock and confused to see what just happened.

"What's this? Another unexpected surprise?" Present Mic asked as Aizawa is shocked from this as well.

"Hey, hey, what the fuck is going on?" Hitoshi asked in confusion, how the fuck is going on here?

The scene reveals that Izuku was stopped by his own tail piercing into the ground of the fighting stage, and then his right arm started to move on its own forcing Izuku to turn around and jump at Hitoshi.

Izuku fights against Hitoshi in the first round of the tournament only to be caught in the mind control power and was about to get off the ring, but it looks like his inner dragon is going to allow him to give up the fight that easily as his tail and right arm are fighting the control.
