CHAPTER 3

JJ had just broke the news to the team about Emily. The room was silence and everyone going through the emotions

Morgan stands up to walk out and seem to be in a hurry. He says; "Micah! someone needs to be with her. She must be so scared and alone, is she still at the safe house? I must go and check on her."

"Morgan, wait!"; says JJ as she runs to stop him. The realization hits the team and they all look at them.

"What? Did they move her? Did anyone tell her yet?"; says Morgan as he turn to face JJ.

"Yes, she is with Elizabeth and they moved them to another safe house. They gonna keep them in witness protection."; answers JJ sharing stares with Hotch, who seem to be very quiet.

"Elizabeth? She should be with people she knows JJ. Last thing I said to Emily is that I'll protect Micah."; he says as he walks closer to JJ and sounds very heartbroken.

Reid voice his concerns: "Couldn't they let us say goodbye?" The room falls silent again and Morgan looks at JJ then walks out.

Almost a year ago, Emily had just heard the news about Doyle. She arrives at her apartment, rushes upstairs heading to Micah's room. Monica was sitting asleep on the chair and was startle awake by the light hitting her face when the door open. Emily looks over at Micah in the bed then tugs the blanket.

"Hi I saw your text."; whisper Monica as she slowly walks out followed by Emily then slightly closes the door.

"I am sorry for the trouble, I'll get her to school tomorrow you then you pick her up and bring her straight home." whispers Emily as they walk downstairs. Monica grab her coat and bag and walks toward the door.

"She has field hockey after school then I take her to the library. She-": says Monica. The phone rings again and the two women share a stare.

"No, directly after school bring her home. No stops, home!"; says Emily with a serious face to Monica. Monica just nods and walks out.

Emily locks after Monica, she sets up noise traps and sits in a chair in front of the door with a gun. Micah woke up to go pee, after returning from the bathroom she notices that Monica is not there. She walks to her mother's room and everything is still as it was and this causes her to be anxious. She walks quietly downstairs and she sees Emily sitting facing the door.

"Mommy!"; calls out Micah in a soft tone.

Emily turns quickly keeping the gun out of sight. "Hey Peanut, go back to bed."; answers Emily with a smile of reassurance.

"What's going? You're scaring me."; says Micah with a shaky voice and teary eyes, she saw the gun as Emily tugs it behind into her pants. Emily walks towards her daughter, picking her up and laying her on the couch.

"oh love, I am sorry. Its Okay. Everything is fine.";says Emily before she was cut off by the phone ringing again. She gets up and pulls the plug. she returns to the couch, laying next to Micah wrapping her in her arms.

"Remember I told you long ago before I had you, I worked for Intepol and had to go undercover for a case for almost 8 years. And that I had to put a bad guy away to protect a little boy?" says Emily to Micah.

"Yes. But the little boy didn't make it."; says Micah shifting herself so she be able to hug Emily from the neck up and placing Emily's head on her tiny chest while Emily is hugging her lower torso.

"That's not the whole story. The bad man got out of jail and I think his coming for me. I need you to promise me that you'll listen to Monica okay and do as I say."; says Emily as she tighten the hold on her daughter.

Micah can sense how worried her mom is so she just nods.

"No I need to hear it, Micah."; says Emily in a serious tone.

"Yes. I'll listen to Monica and do as you say. I promise, mommy."

JJ, Hotch and Emily are talking at the hospital after breaking the news to the team. Emily was given a chance to video call and explain the situation, as she didn't want to traumatize Micah with hearing she had passed or even let her attend a foreplay funeral of her. During the funeral, Morgan was not happy that Micah was not at Emily's funeral and didn't hide his feelings about it.

Its a month after the events.

JJ driving with Micah in the backseat, they are quiet.

"JJ is my mommy okay?"; says Micah without looking up from her word puzzle.

The car comes to a stop.

"Yes sweety. We're going to meet her there. You still remember the plan right?"; says JJ as she turn to face the child in the backseat. She grabs the backbag for the child to place her book and pen then helps her wear it.

"Yes."; says Micah as she grabs a cap and puts it's on. Micah's hair seem shorter and is wearing boys clothing.

They walk towards a café to a table where a woman in a light brown coat seem to be sitting. Micah immediately recognizes the woman and tries to run excitedly but JJ kept a tight grip and signals her to relax. As they get to the table, JJ lets go of her and sits opposite the woman but Micah just jumps for a hug and just doesn't let go.

"Passports from three different countries ,a bank account in each to keep you comfortable."; says JJ as she passes the envelope across the table.

"Thank you."; says Emily.

"Good luck"; answers JJ. Micah waves goodbye to JJ as they walk away from the table still holding on to Emily's neck.

"I missed you."; whispers Micah into her mother's left ear.

"I missed you more."; answers Emily.
