What had once been verdant, lush jungle mere hours before, was now dust & sand. An eerie howl of wind, like the rattling, mournful calls of the dead, swept across the desolate wasteland that was once the planet of Kembel. Here & there a tree or a bush, which had somehow survived the utter devastation wrought by the Time Destructor, populated the now empty land, but nothing now truly lived. Kembel was a dead world.

Travelling slowly, it's internal mechanisms & technology badly damaged in the crash, the Dalek Supreme made it's way across the desolation, it's black casing, pockmarked with burns & dents, pushing hard across the accumulated sand & dust of what had been abundant forests. Turning it's dome, it examined the path it had taken. The saucer now lay in a crater, smoke rising high & dark. No other Dalek survived the fall back to Kembel. It was alone.

The Dalek Supreme had, after ordering a pursuit of the Doctor, fled to it's ship. Self-preservation had been chief in it's retreat, but so too had been a desire to witness the effects of the Time Destructor from a place of safety. Unfortunately, the ship had not even cleared the stratosphere when the devices effects had spiralled out, covering the whole planet.

Swivelling it's eye-stalk around, it surveyed it's surroundings beyond;the awesome devastation caused by the Time Destructor. Daleks regressed, casings destroyed & still smouldering, the remains of the agent who had joined the Doctor, only her clothes now left to mark her passing, the dead world's last screams echoing forever on the storms of wind & sand. The evidence of the Time Destructors handy work, it's success, offered little consolation however.

"The Doctor" croaked the Supreme, contempt evident in it's voice.

The memory would be seared onto it's mind for eternity. The old man, defiant & confident, determination to obstruct, to defeat the Daleks etched into every line on his face, his blue eyes calm yet blazing with resolve, activating & fleeing with the destructor, seemingly unaffected by it. The cunning, the audacity!

There was something to be respected in the old man's will to defy the Daleks, the Supreme could not deny it. The Doctor was an Enemy of the highest order. This did not extinguish the burning hatred it felt at having been thwarted again, however. The memory of Earth 2167, Skaro, reports of the Doctor's interference throughout Dalek history, It only made the sublime hatred burn brighter.

"For too long have you interfered with the destiny of the Daleks!" it said, it's voice rising in staccato rage. "We are the supreme beings & you...you are the Nemesis of the Daleks! You will be known throughout time as our greatest enemy. All Daleks will know of you, Doctor, & no matter how far you run, no matter how many times you attempt to stop us, the Daleks will not falter, we will survive & one day, we will exterminate you!"

The fury passed & the Supreme turned it's mind to it's current predicament. It was nothing to to be concerned over. The necessary equipment to call for help was undamaged. It would be found, however long it may take. It would see the home-world, Skaro, again. All it had to do, was wait...
