Prologue
The sun was shining in Amity Park; children were finished with school, and parents were coming to pick them up. One teen in particular was not excited about coming home, and his name was Danny Fenton, also known as the teen superhero Danny Phantom. He has been hiding his secret for long enough now, and figured it would be time to finally tell his parents. The people who he know love him.
As he reached the door his palms went sweaty—causing him to fumble with the keys to get inside. He went over to his room and rehearsed what he was going to say, he realized he needed some advice on what he really was going to say. "Mom? Dad? There's something you should-" He stopped himself mid sentence, "ugh! That's not going to work!" He kept on thinking about what to say.
Suddenly, he heard a knock on the door. It was his sister, Jazz. She was holding a piece of paper that looked like homework. She went to take it to him, but he grabbed it from her hands. "Danny! What's gotten into you?" She asked in an angry tone.
"Nothing…Just worried about what Mom and Dad are going to say, I don't want them to kick me out of the house." He said, "don't worry, I won't let them. They'll be sorry if they even mention kicking you out of the house!" She said.
Danny felt a little better after that talk with his sister, he knew she would help him with these kinds of things, and he knew she would help him discuss with his parents about his powers.
He has had his powers for too long, and he thought it was time to tell them everything, to tell them about the portal. To tell them about his whole life as Danny Phantom. He wanted to cry, and he wanted to scream.
But his body didn't. He just went downstairs and sighed, this is it. The moment that can change everything.
He felt tears coming down his face, his parents were going to know the truth.
…
A few moments later, he decided to tell them. It was during a typical family discussion about ghosts. Jack was saying how the Ghost Zone is going to take over the world, while Maddie was explaining about other things. Jazz was trying to keep her cool, because she knew how upset this would make Danny feel.
Danny looked at his parents, he was ready to tell them. He got up and excused himself from the tabel. He didn't know why but he felt like he needed to tell them as soon as possible and he did that by making sure he was ready for the conversation. The conversation that would change everything.
He decided to say it then, he didn't know how they would react. But he knew it wouldn't be good. He decided to give it to them straight, no explination. Just the truth, Jazz was waiting in the other room in case things got violent.
"Mom, dad, I need to say something—You know the hero Danny Phantom?" Jack looked at Danny, "of course I do son! He's the one I've been wanting to tear apart molecule by molecule every single day!"
Danny sighed, "well…I know you are not going to understand, believe, or possibly like me after this. But, I am Danny Phantom."
This caused both parents to spit out what they were eating on the tabel, Jack stood up and raised his hand. "MY SON CAN'T BE THE GHOST BOY! THAT GHOST HAS BEEN ON MY KILL LIST!" He admitted. While Maddie, on the other hand, was more supportive. "Jack, let's not do anything you'll regret here. I am proud of you Danny, for saying something."
This caused Danny to break down and cry, his emotions were getting the best of him. Jack was still angry at the fact that his son was the ghost boy. He kept on feeling rage getting to him.
Danny kept to himself the rest of the night—He couldn't believe that he did that, maybe it was best if he didn't say anything.
END A/N: This is going to be my first DP story, I hope you all enjoy. It is going to have different parts with Danny and his family figuring out how to live with the fact that their son is Danny Phantom. I do hope you all enjoy this angst story.
