*Konako POV*

Villains weren't always on the same side.

In reality, villains often killed one another in struggles for power or even over petty squabbles. It was fair but there was a part of Konako that found it really annoying to not have others on your side when you shared similar positions. Yeah she was a 'villain' but she had actually stepped away from that when the group she was part of fell apart so she had been hoping to put all that behind her.

Former villains often didn't get any reprieve when trying to get back into normal society and even at the shittiest of lowdown places you might not get accepted. Most employers didn't find it worth the trouble to take even reformed villains and the other option was usually just fall in with more bad guys and screw yourself again. Not to mention, Konako didn't do any time so the best she could do was try and lay low while keeping that fact hidden.

She'd managed to scrape by on part time jobs, cutting expenses and such, and just generally not doing anything enjoyable but it honestly wasn't a lifestyle she wanted to continue with. You couldn't really call it living truthfully but she had to deal with it if she wanted to make it by. However, she'd landed herself in a pretty little predicament. Well, rather the trouble found her instead and now she was in some real deep shit. Konako had been making the boring slog home with a crappy discount meal from a convenience store for dinner and suddenly a villain attack erupted in the city. She would have just ignored it but when she tried taking a shortcut through an alley to avoid the chaos, and the heroes, she ran straight into the worst crazy possible.

How was she supposed to know that the stalking fanatic known as the Hero Killer was also creepily keeping track of even minor villains?

Konako would have never expected to be recognized by him but the second he'd locked eyes with her he was on her. She had the skill to at least avoid the first slash and try and obscure his vision with her dust quirk but her success wasn't long lived as a blade found her leg when she tried to run. She stumbled and fell when her body suddenly locked up and she could feel the intensity of the villain that was only a short ways behind her.

"I haven't found my target yet tonight but I won't ignore you shallow villains either," the murderer breathed and Konako began to sweat while her pulse started racing.

She was seriously going to die here.

Die young without anyone on her side at the hands of some freak.

Konako was too petrified to even cry out but she heard a door open slightly ahead of her while a green haired woman wobbled out. Clearly the alley and building they were at was the backdoor entrance to some shady bar or club as it was clear that the woman was heavily intoxicated. Her hair was long and styled but messy from her night activities and she wore an outfit meant for dancing while being blissfully unaware of what was happening in the city or even right beside her.

"Ugh, p-probably shouldn't drink that much," the greenette slurred, looking sick and unsteady on her feet as she hunched over and covered her mouth with a hand, but her eyes turned towards Konako and a moment passed before her arms flailed and she fell back on her ass in terror.

"Leave," the former villain heard the Hero Killer demand and the woman scrambled to her feet as best as her drunken body would let her but Konako forced her voice out.

"H-help..." she begged fearfully, despite knowing that a civilian couldn't do anything yet not wanting to die. "Please save me," she desperately cried but her forming tears held when she realized that the greenette had stopped her retreat.

The woman hesitated but suddenly whirled around and threw her bag at the Hero Killer while struggling to run towards the downed woman and place herself between the two. However, Stain must have easily evaded if the terrified green eyes staring at Konako told her anything so the greenette harshly grabbed her and dragged her behind her. Moved towards one of the alley walls, the woman clung to and shielded her but it only made Konako more scared since she could now see the Hero Killer stalking over to leer at them menacingly. The woman was still situated between them but Konako could feel it through her grip.

She was shaking.

It would have been crazy for her to not be scared and Konako at least had the decency to sink back into herself for dragging some random civilian into this situation.

"I'll praise your heroic attempt and give you one last chance," Stain directed at the trembling greenette but Konako could see the resolve secretly hidden in her anxious eyes.

"Back off or I'll be forced to take you down," she warned but her voice shook and her words sometimes came in stutters. "Y-you'll probably end up dead," she tried again but Stain was undeterred as he loomed above them.

Konako couldn't bring herself to speak up but if she could then she would have wanted to apologize to her attempted savior. The greenette appeared to be around her age and had probably never done anything bad with how much of a ball of nerves she seemed to be but now she was gonna get killed all because a former villain didn't want to die in a pitiful and lonely way.

"I-I'm serious!" the greenette yelled but it must have been all bravado as the murderer raised his blade.

"I'll remember you," he promised her while the green haired woman raised a hand as if to shield them.

The Hero Killer swung downwards and Konako prepared to close her eyes but they timidly stayed open as the woman's whispered voice softly touched her ears.

"Boom."

A soft snap sounded and Konako barely even blinked before realizing that what had once been a human was now just parts. Stain's still intact head dropped down to where his remaining lower body was tipping over but everything in between had completely disappeared. There was some blood beginning to pool from the fallen remains while random splotches littered the alley and she noted that the wall that had been behind the man was partially cracked and caved in as if a spherical object had crashed into it while blood painted the damaged area. Konako wanted to scream at what had essentially been the man exploding before them but the greenette's grasp on her tightened as her breathing gained volume and speed.

"Oh god, oh my god," the frantic woman repeated, burying herself against her as she clambered for comfort, and since she still couldn't move Konako panicked to find words.

"You're safe, you're safe!" she assured rapidly, trying to calm her savior. "You managed to save me too, b-both of us are okay," she appealed over and over until her body could finally move in which she then embraced the other woman.

"F-feel sick," the greenette cried, finally at her limit as tears leaked from her eyes, and Konako drew her a bit away from the corpse and let her empty her stomach while she rubbed her back and cleared away her green locks.

This woman had literally killed for her so the least she could do was hold her hair while she threw up.

And maybe also find them a way out of Japan.

Notes and Stuff

Two screwed up broke girls try and escape the country.

They're both around 23 in this and things will be happening concurrently with canon events.

Izumi's quirk is called 'Boom!' by saying the word and snapping her fingers she can make a limited, short ranged, and invisible explosive blast capable of nearly obliterating something in a sphere.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and look forward to more updates from me!
