Hey babes! Back again with a new one for ya! Just something sweet and simple with these two as they get ready to become parents. And wouldn't you know it, I found another lyric from a We Three song to use as a title. Will it be the last? We'll see.

Enjoy!

"I still can't believe sometimes that this is actually happening for us," Grant remarks as he and Skye relax together on the couch, his head resting in her lap and her fingers gently running through his hair massaging his scalp. The television is turned on at the other end of the room, though it's more for background noise at this point than actual entertainment.

"I know. I'm so excited to meet him or her."

"When can we tell the rest of our friends?"

"You're eager to tell everyone, huh?"

He turns onto his back so he can smile up at her. "Very." He rests one of his hands on her barely-there bump, gently rubbing his thumb against the fabric of her tank top. "I want all of them to know that my wife is giving me the greatest gift in the entire universe."

Skye laughs quietly. "The greatest gift in the entire universe, huh?"

He smiles and nods. "Mm-hmm."

"You're the sweetest."

He leans forward to kiss her belly. "I know. So can I please tell everyone? We've hit the three-month mark, you're starting to show, everything's okay with the baby; I just want to tell our friends."

She purses her lips as she pretends to think about it. "Okay," she tells him. "Go ahead."

He grins. "Thank you." He leans over to grab his phone off the coffee table, unlocks it, and opens the camera app. He hands the phone to his wife. "Here, take the picture for me." He shifts so he's kneeling on the floor in front of her.

"What are you doing?" Skye asks him with a small laugh.

He smiles up at her as he places both of his hands on the edge of the curve of her stomach, leaning forward to press his lips to the top. "Just take the picture."

"You're such a dork," she tells him, holding the phone up.

"Mm-hmm," he hums against her skin, making her giggle.

She snaps the photo and then holds the phone back out to him. "Here, take your phone."

He stands up just long enough to sit next to her and takes his phone from her. He smiles at the picture on the screen and then switches over to his Messages. He creates a group text between their closest friends, his sister, and Skye's brother, attaches the photo, and sends it through without any context. He knows it'll take all of them mere moments to realize what the photo means.

He tosses the phone aside and snakes his arms around her, pulling her close and pressing a kiss to her temple. "And now we wait for the freakouts."

Skye lets out a breath and sinks into his hold. "Now we wait."

His phone buzzing repeatedly on the couch cushion, Grant reaches out for it, finding multiple replies to his earlier message that make him chuckle.

Fitz: Does that mean what I think it does? Congrats, mate. To both of you.

Jemma: Oh, I'm so happy for you, Grant. I know you're going to be an excellent dad. :)

Amanda: Still so damn excited. Congrats again. :)

Kara: Congratulations to you both! This is so exciting. Can't wait to meet the little one.

Lincoln: I'm gonna be an uncle? Wow. Congratulations.

Trip: Ay, congrats on the baby, man. Good for you two. :)

Bobbi: This is amazing! I already knew but it's still exciting. I'm going to be the Godmother, right? Nevermind, don't answer that, I'll just talk to Skye later. Congrats!

He sends a message to the entire group when he deems that enough texts have come in, thanking them for their excitement and asking them not to post anything about the baby online. He and Skye had decided almost immediately that they wanted to keep it to themselves for a little while longer, to live with it without the outside world getting a hold of the news and giving their two cents about all of it.

A smile remains on his face the entire time he types out the message, still not quite believing that he's going to be a dad in just a few short months. There's still so much left that they have to do, to get ready for the baby. But he's more than excited about all of it.

Stepping into the living room, Grant smiles at the sight of his wife sitting cross-legged on the couch with her laptop perched in her lap, both dogs curled up on the floor in front of her. Falling next to her, he leans down to press a kiss to Skye's shirt-covered stomach and then sits up, shifting a bit to get comfortable. He drapes one arm over the back of the couch and leans over to see her computer screen "Baby stuff?"

She nods, clicking a few of the images and links on the webpage. "Mm-hmm. We only have a few more months left to get this place ready for our baby, and it feels like we're so behind on getting stuff we'll need."

"Our baby." He sighs happily. "I love hearing that just as much as I love saying it."

"Me too," she tells him with a small smile. "Do you know how much stuff people recommend getting when you have a baby? I don't know if we can fit all of it in this apartment."

"We'll make it work however we have to. Are you making a list of what we'll need?"

Skye nods. "Yeah. Bobbi keeps telling me to make a Baby Registry so that people can get us stuff for my Baby Shower. Only thing is...she won't tell me where it's going to be, only when. She is being completely radio-silent on the whole thing, not even telling me if there's a theme. It's driving me crazy."

He rubs a hand soothingly against her arm. "I'm sure it'll be fine. She just wants to do something nice for you."

"I know. And I'm not mad that she's throwing me a Baby Shower, I'm annoyed that she's not telling me the details. I need to know so that I can make sure I look good for it."

"Hey, she's your best friend, I'm sure she'll make sure that you look your best when it's time for the Baby Shower."

Skye sighs. "Yeah, I guess so. I'm just anxious all the time about this. I'm growing a literal human being inside of me and I keep worrying that I'm going to be a horrible mother."

Grant smiles softly at her. "You're going to be an amazing mother. I have no doubt in my mind about that. This kid is extremely lucky to be getting you as a mom."

She smiles back at him, cupping his cheek in her hand. "I love you."

He leans forward to give her a quick kiss. "I love you too."
