This one's sorta brutal.

Enjoy, more notes at the end!

Encounter

*Rumi POV*

"Back it off! This is bad!"

It should have been as simple as raid the place and beat everyone up.

Rumi had crashed plenty of fights in her youth, even an underground fighting gig like this in high school, but it hadn't prepared her for what she was up against now. The rabbit hero didn't know what compelled her to investigate that inconspicuous wooden door but what she found was a figure sitting in the far corner of the darkened stone room. Rumi didn't even have a split second before her instincts were assaulted by an overwhelming sense of danger and she leapt back just as a swing crossed the place she'd just been in. The person, a young woman with white hair, tanned skin, and green eyes, pursued her and Rumi knew she was in for it now.

She'd managed to avoid the incoming strikes but it didn't take long for the heroine to become pressed by the girl's offense to the point in which she needed to return fire. Not only was the kid fast, strong, and sturdy but she was also a dirty and vicious little thing. She aimed at her eyes and ears, tried to grab a hold of her hair, attempted to scratch or bite, the girl pulled all the stops. Hell, the feral shit even tried striking her in the tits and the crotch once or twice already.

She was managing to fend off the assault but the part that was really throwing Rumi off was that the girl was keeping pace with her. No, she was unnaturally getting faster, stronger, and able to take more punishment. It had to do with whatever her quirk was but Rumi's thoughts were put on hold as she winced when their kicks crossed again. Had her leg seriously just cracked? The rate of growth was pretty damn astonishing, and annoying, if she was being honest.

She attempted to create some space between the two of them and found herself with a pillar at her back. The girl stuck her arm out, holding it slightly curled and flexing the muscles from fist to shoulder, and blew through the stone when Rumi dodged but the rabbit heroine jumped on the opportunity. Launching herself at the girl, Rumi latched onto her back and locked her arms tightly with her own arms and legs while dragging her down to the ground from the tackle.

"Calm it down you brat!"

The girl continued struggling despite Rumi's hold on her and with a kick of her legs she managed to get to her feet. The girl leapt from the ground, heading for the ceiling and swinging her feet towards it before kicking off as hard as she could with a yell. The pair plummeted back down to the floor and Rumi grunted as she felt her head and back being crushed into the stone. The rabbit heroine didn't yield her grip but the girl rolled back to her feet and crashed them through the nearest wall. Fuck it, Rumi grumbled in her mind as she detached from the girl before pedaling away then bouncing back to her opponent. Rocketing off with all her built up force, Rumi crashed a roundhouse into the girl's side and sent her flying, almost certain she'd broken or fractured some ribs on the kid, and darted right after her.

Rumi sure felt blessed by her sense for danger because a second later and she'd have been skewered through the stomach by a metal pole. Wary but taking the attack in stride, the rabbit woman took to the outside of the lunge and spun on a foot while grabbing the pole and the girl's outstretched arm to use like a horizontal bar. Letting her momentum take her, the heroine performed a quick backwards hip circle and clipped the girl's chin with her knee before landing straight into a spinning kick that bent her attacker in half then sent her flying away. She knew that the girl was just going to charge back in so she could either wait for that or press the offensive and though Rumi wasn't keen on staying on the back foot she knew for sure that the girl wasn't missing a second time.

As expected, the little beast reappeared in a rampage, thankfully having discarded her weapon, but even though she was preparing for it Rumi was taken aback by how the girl was even faster than before. The kid had both her arms raised and bending behind her head as her back arched and Rumi tried to raise her arms as the overhead strike crashed down on her. She had one moment to register the deranged smile on her opponent's face before the blow slipped by her too late guard and the impact exploded throughout her body as she felt what was certainly her skull beginning to cave in. The rabbit woman was only just spared by her legs unconsciously flinging her as far away as possible and she managed to drag her blurry eyes back up to the girl before they widened in realization.

This damn bitch was an idiot! A real, actual, fucking idiot!

What moron did a double sledgehammer strike with their fingers interlocked? Even more so, what moron swung so hard that all her fingers broke after doing it? The kid's fingers were all twisted up, some at obviously incorrect angles, but it didn't bother her one bit as she tried to forcefully pull them back into fists. The fool managed to clench her hands real tight, the strain evident on her entire body, but she never lost the angry grin that was seared across her face and Rumi only blinked before she was forced to scramble away from another two handed swing that promised it was going to send her head spinning.

"CRAZY, STUPID FUCK!" Rumi roared in a mix of anger from the pain and disbelief in what she was seeing.

The girl charged her like a boar once more and Rumi wasn't sure what sent her over the edge, the adrenaline, the pain, or something else altogether, but instead of using her proud legs she grabbed her by the face with a hand and bellowed as she slammed the girl head first into the ground. Rumi didn't let up either, her grip shifted until she had a bundle of her hair and she pulled her opposition up and repeatedly began bashing the back of her head into the concrete.

"Had enough you little punk?" the rabbit woman sneered in delight, her head hot and foggy, while the girl gripped the offending arm painfully. "Think I enjoyed you smashing my skull in?" another dull sounding crack echoing in her ears. "I ain't fuckin' done with ya by a long shot," she breathed gleefully, their collective blood dripping and splattering about, and Rumi released her grip only to switch to bludgeoning her face with the bottom of her fist when the girl gave up her own hold.

She could barely process things, Rumi was just moving, but this had drawn something right out of her. Somehow the many life or death situations that she'd been in didn't compare to this for even a second. Maybe it was because she'd never been in something like this, something so raw and unfiltered, but the rabbit woman just wanted more. More...more and more...

Violence.

The younger girl was flinging her arms like mad with her sloppy strikes whipping and cutting Rumi but she refused to cede her domination. A wild fist struck Rumi's abdomen, forcefully cutting off her air as it pressed in her diaphragm, and the rabbit hero was stunned momentarily as the blood and spit collected in her mouth which then left her open to a vicious strike square to her face that saw her folding back and off of the kid. The brute capitalized in a second, mounting her instead, and Rumi threw her arms up to guard but she howled from the pain suddenly flaring in one of her arms.

The maniac had just gone straight for it and bit her!

She was tearing at her arm, refusing to give it up, and Rumi pulled her free one out as far as possible and flexed to crash a tight elbow right into her jaw. It did the job and the kid was off of her, though she was certain she'd lost a small chunk of flesh from that, and Rumi slight snapped back to reality when she saw that the kid's jaw was somewhat hanging slack and off center while her tongue lolled out.

The girl's arms also hung limply but her widened and bloodshot eyes screamed that she wasn't anywhere close to done and Rumi grimaced as the kid charged at her once more. What was she? A fucking zombie? The girl probably shouldn't have even been breathing let alone chasing her like a rabid animal.

"How bout you just drop dead for me already!" Rumi screamed, her head an inferno and her patience all but burned away. "Fucking go DOWN!" she ordered but nothing deterred her assailant.

Rumi spun on a foot to build more force and fired another kick into the kid's side, feeling the bones buckling under her strike, and the girl gasped for air as she stumbled back while clutching her ribs. The kid rocked on unsteady feet and the rabbit woman thought she'd heard her say something so she paused for only a brief moment.

"What?" she growled and the girl glared at her with cloudy eyes but her jaw began snapping back into place.

"I said, is it that fun?" she repeated and Rumi threw an arm up to defend her left as a kick suddenly found its mark.

The rabbit hero knew her arm had broken instantly and her ribs sure as hell didn't feel great as she sneered at the kid. Now this brat was copying her? Shit, it was actually stronger than if she had done it. Rumi was in no condition to drag this any longer because, in all truth, it would guarantee her loss. Mustering all her remaining strength, the rabbit woman sprung about the surrounding stone walls and pillars to batter the girl with kick after kick. She didn't care where she hit, didn't care how hard she hit, and yet her blows were being withstood.

"FALL! GODDAMMIT FALL ALREADY!" she bellowed, almost sounding as if she was pleading, and her body shuddered under the strain of even using her voice.

Rumi was sick of fighting this girl, everything about the experience was awful, and most of all it made her feel...

Weak.

Weak, small, and helpless.

Rumi had never been pushed here, she never had to consider the things she ended up needing to do in this fight, yet even then none of it was working. Desperation, fear, anger, all of it was being torn out of her just so she could survive against some kid. However, the moment the thought hit her everything fell into place.

Rumi was fighting more like this girl.

The rabbit hero fell to her knees, her body giving in, and she stared at the person across from her. The kid was on trembling legs but there was a brilliant scream of life coming from her. The rage that kept her standing was a defiant cry that screamed that she would live.

"I'll look out for you," Rumi uttered quietly and she barely registered the even gaze the girl returned to her.

Everything disappeared as she collapsed.

-Present-

Rumi woke with a jolt.

It was the middle of the night still but she felt wide awake immediately as sweat lined her body. She really wanted to forget that fight but she knew it would never happen. It may have been recent but Rumi was certain that day would haunt her for a long time coming. She traced light touches against her just healed injuries as if she would find them in the state they were in her memories but she sighed in relief.

The rabbit woman couldn't explain why she'd said such a thing, especially when she herself had nothing to offer, but here they were. Rumi was also still unsure how she felt about her sister. She could list out emotions all day and find them fitting if she truly thought about it. Guilt, fear, anger, pity, confusion, you name it and there was a decent chance it crossed her mind in regards to Haru. Rumi took a breath to calm herself but her ears twitched as she heard shuffling about.

It wasn't uncommon for Haru to wake up at strange times herself. The kid didn't sleep normally now that Rumi thought about it. Well, she did sleep but she wouldn't lay down, awake or not, period. When she did sleep then Rumi often found her on the couch or with her futon folded up by the wall so she was propped up. The heroine didn't know if she just found it more comfortable or what but it was a pretty easy thing to notice. The hero's ears picked up that her sister was in the living room, likely settling onto the couch, and with a sigh she decided to get up.

Rumi calmly exited her room and registered the quiet sound of the TV as well as light illuminating the walls from down the hall. The older woman entered to see Haru huddled up on the couch, taking up as little space as possible, and she approached and sat on the couch back. Neither of them said anything nor did they acknowledge each others' presence. The two just remained in place and stared at the TV.

This was enough for now.

Notes and Stuff

Both of them can go there but Haru is vicious.

I'll get more into things with her quirk when we see her side and delve into her backstory and how she got here.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and look forward to more updates from me!
