Danny flew up dodging the sword too bad however danny wasn't expecting the shockwave that came from the sword ripping through the floors sending him flying back embedding him into a wall and making his ears ring like someone hooked a school bell to his ear drums
"Great as if one evil chick with sound powers wasn't enough now I get another one " Danny grumbled pulling himself from the wall marking that sword down under the avoid list
Pirate girl swung her sword casually in a circle she said something Danny wasn't sure with his ears still ringing something about warping toast
"What" Danny asked maybe a bit too loudly
No that wasn't right it was probably that he was toast
She was charging at him that made sense
Yeah not gonna happen
Danny dodged this time moving around her wide swing his fist glowing green Danny fired a ghost ray to destroy that stupid sword confidently she blocked his ghost ray getting split by the humming sword
"Ok that's new" Danny commented this time throwing a punch that she blocked with her sword another shockwave driving the two apart
"Somethings going on in the storage room" Danny and pirate girl looked to the door Danny could see security guards on the other side
Great the last thing Danny needed to get back on the most wanted list apparently pirate girl had the same idea
"Next time ghost" she promised running back showing Danny Goldbeards Jolly Roger on the back of her coat as she moved through a wall leaving her hat
Before Danny could move to grab it her hand reached back and did it
Danny phased out as the security guards burst in
Finding Sam he morphed back "you ok" she asked concerned
"It feels like I've got a fire alarm installed next to my brain but yeah I'm fine" Danny answered the ringing was dying down
"Who did you fight some kind of ghost" Sam asked
"I don't know but I plan to find out" Danny said
While Danny was licking his wounds Tucker was in a auditorium along with Elliott and a room full of prospective students were sitting at desks a woman with her hair in a short blonde in a stylish blue pantsuit stood in front of the students on a podium her eyes watching over them all
"Welcome children" she said in a rich southern accent "my name is Simone Teach Vice Principal of Seagull bay school of technology and I have the distinct pleasure of introducing the headmaster my husband Dr. Victor Teach"
Everyone and the students applauded as a man with short a mustache beard combo dressed in a sharp brown jacket black slacks and dress shoes ran on to the stage sea blue eyes rimmed with laugh lines looked out behind half moon glasses waved happily as he ran out on stage
He let out a hearty laugh as he kissed his wife on the cheek before looking to the students "welcome welcome one and all truly it's such a pleasure seeing you all the future of technology science all this potential it's inspiring" he said jovially looking out at them all
"Unfortunately however only seven of you will be climbing aboard and becoming part of our Seagull bay family tomorrow you will be put through a rigorous test our student chaperones will give you the lay of the land including my darling daughter Lena Teach" he said pointing to some students in uniform frowning he looked to his wife
"I thought we had twelve chaperones I'm only counting eleven" he asked
"There should be twelve" she answered
"I'm sorry" a golden blonde girl in a student uniform ran into the auditorium breathing heavily climbing the stage she stood next to Lena nervously rubbing the back of her head her green eyes looked nervously to Dr. Teach
"It's quite all right Charlotte ahem I mean Miss. Hawkins just don't let it happen again" Dr. Teach said
"Aye sir sorry sir" she said
"As I was saying the best of luck to you all and may the best students win"
In the Kingsfleet public library Sam had grabbed multiple books she and Danny having looked through them "I think I know what your pirate friend was looking for according to this the building where Seagull bay is was built from Goldbeards flagship" Sam showed him the illustrations of a old timer sailing ship along with a portrait of Goldbeard
He had wild golden blonde hair and an even wilder hair wearing a green jacket with a black collar over a white shirt
Just like the girl he fought the hair and the jacket were both like Goldbeards
"So she's looking for Goldbeards treasure" Danny reasoned it made sense from what little Danny knew about the guy he made a fortune stealing other pirates treasure it made sense that a pirate would be looking for treasure
"According to this it's also where he lived when he retired according to this most of his treasure he gave away but he saved some away in case the town ever needed it hidden away whenever anyone asked him all he said was to look under the Maelstrom"
"Under the maelstrom what does that mean" Danny asked
Sam shrugged "beats me maybe Tucker could figure it out" she suggested
Danny shook his head "he's busy with his science fair thing"
Sam and Danny looked to the empty seat next to them "I guess we should get used to Tucker not being around when gets in"
"Yeah but we'll still see him it'll just be on holidays and over the summer we can all still play Doom online and stuff" Danny said
"You mean I can cream you all at Doom" Sam replied with a cocky smirk
"Or we can all play on the same team and cream everyone else" Sam suggested with a smile Danny smiled liking the idea
"I'm heading back to the school that pirate chick broke in once looking for the treasure odds were she'd come again
Plus Tucker was there
There was no way he'd leave his best friend be in the crosshairs
Tucker was hard at work in one of Seagull bays super final labs putting the final touches on his project he and a few other entrants were still working the student guides after giving them a tour of the labs were now supervising
This was going to get him one of the seven spots for sure
"It looks pretty good" Charlotte said leaning her arm against the table
"Thanks Charlotte" Tucker said smiling
"You can call me Charlie" she told him with a grin while taking a look "looks like the wires to your power supply aren't properly connected " she pointed out
"Oh man you're right" Tucker saw that the wiring had come undone "thanks for telling me"
"Hey we might be classmates it's good to help each other" Charlie responded grinning "not that you really need my help you're a shoo-in for the top student spot"
"That's the dream" Tucker replied
"And that's all it going to be" Elliott said from his work table like Tucker he was working late on his own project "I'll be the top student"
"It takes more than brains to be a top student here at Seagull bay too bad that's all you seem to have" Charlie retorted making Elliot turn red in embarrassment being called out like that
"Thanks" Tucker told the beanie wearing girl
"I was just telling the truth" Charlie told her "I have a lot of experience telling off big brains with even bigger egos"
Charlies watch started beeping "what's that"
"My uh my alarm I need to start heading to sleep you guys should do the same big day tomorrow bye" Charlie spoke quickly before heading out the door
"Charlie's right let's wrap things up everyone and hit the hay" Lena said everyone nodded beginning to wrap things up while Tucker frowned something was off
Sneaking in was easy as pie going in through the same window he went in before the room was still torn up from the fight with the sonic boom sword Danny but otherwise was just a storage room
Peeking his head out looking one way was just a stairway heading the other he saw some offices the one at the end the lights were on the glass read principal
"Maybe it's not about the treasure but about Dr. Teach" Danny thought aloud Tucker had mentioned he was a big name in tech turning intangible Danny phased it looked like a ordinary principals office to him some degrees and certificates on the wall personal pictures on the desk
Dr. Teach with that girl Lena and a pretty blonde lady that was probably her mother some a wedding picture of him and the blonde lady a picture of him with a picture of him with a kid in a pink beanie eating ice cream on the beach
And one with him shaking hands with Vlad
Wait what
Danny looked again yeah there was the cheesehead and Dr. Teach shaking hands
Both of them wearing a pin that looked like a compass on their lapels but something was off Teachs pin was upside down so that South was pointing up while the Fruitloops was facing the right direction Danny noticed there was a big metal compass hanging on the wall enscribed above the S were some upside down words
Danny walked over to it feeling the wall there was a painful spark on Danny's finger
Something was off
Why would a part of the wall in a principals office shock people going near it
Unless it wasn't an ordinary wall it was a door and the compass was the handle
Turning the compass so the South side was pointing up the upside down words became right side up
Opes Fama Potentia
The wall sank in sliding aside revealing a secret staircase climbing down invisibly Danny found what looked like a cross between a the captains quarters on a pirate ship and a secret lab on the floor was a compass like the one upstairs the same words Opes Fama Potentia painted in gold
Not that Danny focused on that no he was focused on Teach and the holograms of three darkened individuals though Danny could recognize the Fruitloops silhouette anywhere
Danny thid behind a case holding a white suit of armor with a black triangle over the chest above the neck and a black belt around its waist
Just like the Fruitloops ghost suit minus the dorky Count Dracula cape
"I hereby start this meeting of the four corners society" Vlad said dramatically while Teach and the other two holograms nodded
"Considering you aren't the chairman of this council North Councilman Vlad you do not declare the meeting open" a woman's voice came from the hologram to the right of Teach said in an unamused way
"Of course not East councilwoman my apologies for stepping out of place" Vlad said
"Before we are done, I'll be needing a refill" she said with a visible eye roll as she held a glass that was now empty someone filled her glass with a viscous liquid Danny didn't know what it was but going off Teachs and the other holograms recoiling he didn't want to know
She let out a satisfied sigh as her hand grew fingers turning into claws "I needed that"
"Can we get this over with time is money" the other hologram this one on Teachs left
"Yes certainly West councilman but the chairman who I've been reminded is not me must start the meeting " Vlad said annoyed
"Speaking as chairman as this fair council I bid you welcome and declare this meeting officially begun" Teach said
"Finally" Vlad muttered
"Yes well this has been quite a successful year for us all so congratulations to all especially you East Councilwoman for your recent acquisition in New York" Teach said bowing his head
"Oh that was nothing the sniveling little man acted big but gave up quickly when cornered" the East councilwoman said wiggling her claws
"Well it was certainly a masterful performance and I know quite a bit about putting on a good show" the West councilman said "in my area I ensured one of the members under my authority became the mayor of Las Vegas his opponent dropped out of the race rather suddenly almost like magic"
He laughed and everyone else laughed with him
"Well done my friend a victory for one of us is a victory for us all" the principal clapping his hands
"If anyone should be congratulated it's you chairman your fortunes have doubled thanks to you stealing the confidential jet engine plans from Alight industries " his "colleague said.
"Stealing is such a nasty word my friend I prefer to think of it as high risk trading" The principal said a big smile on his face "after all it'd be a personal risk for me if people learned how I stayed on top of the tech game all these years" with no shame in his voice
No he was ecstatic
"Great Tuckers new principal isn't just a fruitloop he's on a whole council of Fruitloops"
"Now gentlemen lady I'll have to adjourn this meeting big day tomorrow" Teach said "well reconvene at another time"
The holograms all nodded vanishing
"Hasn't your mother ever told you that eavesdropping is rude young man" Teach said hitting a button on his cuff links
Danny's ghost sense went off and gas began pouring out of the vents Danny tried to get away but he was so sleepy all of a sudden passing out in front of Teach a ghost in a long coat with a hook for a hand made out code became visible
"Excellent work Silver" Teach complimented
"We caught another rat to 'Goldbeards ghost'" the ghost answered
"Really well it seems my fortunes have truly doubled lock em up together" Teach laughing was the last thing Danny heard he passed out completely
