Forgive me for the bad grammar.
Characters included in story :
Uzumaki Naruto.
Tokisaki Kurumi.
Takamiya Mio.
Yamauchi Sawa.
The air in the Literature clubroom hummed with a distinct brand of chaotic energy. Naruto, sprawled across a plush armchair, was attempting to finish his homework while Sawa, sprawled across the next armchair, was trying to get him to play a new mobile game she'd downloaded. The real source of the chaos, however, was the heated debate taking place between Kurumi and Mio.
"No, no, no, you're completely wrong, Mio!" Kurumi exclaimed, her voice dripping with a mock-seriousness that sent a shiver down Naruto's spine. She brandished a small, pink notebook, the cover adorned with a cute cat holding a heart. "Let the evidence speak for itself!"
Mio, arms crossed and a sly smirk playing on her lips, countered, "Evidence is subjective, Kurumi. You clearly have a selective memory." She produced her own notebook, this one a deep indigo with a majestic phoenix emblazoned on the cover.
Naruto, who at this point had completely abandoned his homework, sighed and leaned back. "Um, guys? What's this all about? And, seriously, what are those notebooks?"
"It's about who loves you the MOST, Naruto-kun!" Kurumi declared, her voice suddenly saccharine sweet. "And the evidence is undeniable!"
Sawa, who had been trying to distract Naruto with funny animal videos on her phone, paused and looked up. "Wait, what? You're… you're arguing about who loves Naruto the most?"
Naruto's face flushed a bright red. "Y-you guys are seriously doing this?!"
"Of course, darling! After all, you're the prize, aren't you?" Kurumi purred, leaning closer and offering Naruto a playful wink.
Mio shot her a withering look. "Don't act so dramatic, Kurumi. We're just having some friendly competition." She opened her indigo notebook, a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. "Let's start with the basics. Who's kissed you the most, Naruto-kun?"
Naruto groaned and buried his face in his hands. He could feel his face getting hotter by the minute. This was a whole new level of awkward.
"I... I don't know!" he stammered, his voice barely audible.
Sawa, with a mixture of amusement and concern, chimed in. "You guys are actually keeping track?"
"It's called 'research', Sawa-chan," Kurumi said, a wide, knowing grin spreading across her face.
Ignoring Sawa, Mio flipped to a page in her notebook and pointed to a neatly organized list. "See?" she said triumphantly. "I have a whole list of every kiss we've shared, from the first clumsy one at that festival to the one you sneakily gave me in the library last week when you thought I wasn't looking."
Kurumi scoffed. "Oh, please, Mio. That's nothing compared to the number of times I've kissed Naruto-kun. And don't even get me started on the passionate ones..." Her voice trailed off as she gazed at Naruto with a suggestive smile.
Naruto felt his face burning even hotter. He could feel his entire body going numb. This was just too much.
"Wait, wait, wait," Sawa interjected. "You're trying to tell me you've kept track of every single kiss?!" Her voice was full of incredulity.
"Well, it's not like it's easy to keep track of all the kisses, Sawa-chan," Kurumi said, her smile fading slightly, replaced by a look of mock hurt. "Naruto-kun is such a kisser. He gets swept away by the moment."
Mio, clearly relishing the moment, flipped to another page in her notebook. "Speaking of moments, how about hugs, Naruto-kun?"
"I think we should talk about that 'Moment' later," Naruto mumbled, face burning. He was starting to feel like a piece of meat on a buffet table.
"Let's get back to the hugs!" Mio said, ignoring Naruto's plea. "I have a whole spreadsheet here showing the duration of each individual hug. I even have a graph showing the trend over time!"
Kurumi, unfazed, opened her notebook again. "Don't you think we need to take into account the quality of the hug? The feeling? The connection?"
The bickering continued, escalating from kissing and hugging to the number of times they'd slept over at Naruto's place, the number of dates they'd been on, and even the number of times they'd held hands. The entire ORC clubroom was filled with an awkward mix of teenage angst, romantic tension, and laughter, all directed at the unfortunate Naruto.
Sawa, watching the whole spectacle unfold, finally had to intervene. "Okay, okay, enough! This is getting ridiculous. You're both amazing, and Naruto loves you both. It's not a competition!"
Both Kurumi and Mio, however, were too engrossed in their "research" to listen.
Naruto, with a sigh, decided to take matters into his own hands. He stood up, walked over to where Kurumi and Mio sat side-by-side, and placed a hand on each of their shoulders.
"Yo, ladies! Let's all calm down and enjoy being together. Who's up for some ramen?"
With a mischievous grin, Kurumi replied, "You know, I'm suddenly craving some ramen. Especially if it's with you, Naruto-kun."
Mio, with a sly smile of her own, agreed. "Me too. Ramen for dinner it is. But, Kurumi, you owe me a hug for making me lose my cool."
Naruto, caught in the middle of a love-hate-ramen dilemma, could only sigh. He'd never seen a debate about affection turn into a ramen date so quickly. But, he thought, maybe it wasn't so bad after all.
