Song: Dawn Chorus Thom Yorke

It's the dawn chorus

If you could do it all again

Big Deal, so what?

Please let me know

When you've had enough

It's the last the chance.

Alexandra Lacroix's early life unfolded with picturesque charm in France, where she was immersed in the cultured environment of a prestigious private school in Paris. Her decision to enter the medical field was a testament to her ambition; by 18, she was determined to pursue a career in medicine, completing her pre-med studies in nursing by 21 and obtaining her medical degree by the age of 24. Beyond her academic pursuits, Alexandra nurtured a profound passion for music. From the tender age of five, she was enrolled in piano and singing classes, developing a particular fondness for jazz influenced by the legendary voices of Ella Fitzgerald and Etta James. Music became not just a hobby, but a sanctuary, holding a special place in her heart.

Her parents, Isabel DeLune and Henry Lacroix, shared a narrative as compelling as the classical melodies Alexandra adored. Isabel, hailing from the affluent DeLune family known for its deep roots in European politics and law dating back to the late 1800s, met Henry while he was in France pursuing a PhD in Law. The DeLunes were staunch defenders of civil liberties and had a long history of involvement in human rights activism. Henry, from the wealthy Lacroix family of Vermont, which traced its origins back to Quebec, Canada, shared similar values. Both families were distinguished by their commitment to justice and their considerable influence in legal circles around the world.

Their courtship was swift and sweet, culminating in a marriage that decided their permanent residence in France, at the DeLune family's opulent estate. Together, they bore the responsibilities of their expanding family law firm, representing major corporations globally while upholding the ideals of public service.

The Lacroix children were a vibrant blend of their parents' legacy. Aldéric, the eldest, was poised to inherit the family's legal empire, mirroring his father's gravitas and commitment to law. The twins, Xavier and Damien, each chose paths reflective of their individual passions—Xavier pursued law, echoing the family tradition, while Damien, ever the artistic soul, delved into the world of music, seeking to carve out a career in orchestral performances. Celine, the first-born daughter, displayed a keen interest in the political underpinnings of their legal endeavors. Alexandra, the youngest, with her blend of scientific acumen and artistic sensitivity, completed the family tableau.

In the grand scheme of their storied heritage, Alexandra represented a bridge between the old world and the new, between tradition and progress. The Lacroix and DeLune lineages, each steeped in history and prestige, were united in their aspirations for their children, hoping to see them excel in their chosen fields while carrying forward the family's legacy of service and excellence. In Alexandra, these hopes found a particularly bright embodiment, as she prepared to bring her own unique impact to the world.

Aldéric Lacroix, at the age of 30, was the mirror image of his father and the designated heir to the Lacroix and DeLune legacies. Stepping firmly in his father's footsteps, he pursued a career in law, embodying the archetype of a future patriarch with his slicked-back blonde hair, ice-blue eyes, and an air of self-righteousness that commanded every room he entered. Standing at an impressive six feet, Aldéric exuded a presence that was both formidable and undeniably authoritative.

Xavier, the elder of the twins at 27, also embraced the family's legal calling. With his blonde, wavy hair and deep blue eyes, Xavier stood even taller at 6'3", his stature only enhancing his charisma. Known for his approachability and charm, he was the quintessential people's man, easily navigating the complexities of social dynamics within and beyond legal circles.

Damien, the introspective twin, chose a different path, finding his calling in the world of music. With a bachelor's degree in music and ongoing postgraduate studies in Violin arts, he aspired to a life filled with the rich tones of orchestral music, aiming to tour with the prestigious Orchestre de Paris. Damien, who bore a striking resemblance to his grandfather with his dark brown hair and warm brown eyes, matched his brother Aldéric in height but contrasted sharply in temperament as the family's introspective soul.

Celine, at 25, carved her niche at the intersection of politics and law. Her keen interest in global justice issues reflected her father's influence, yet her striking platinum blonde hair and deep ocean-blue eyes also spoke of her unique identity. Standing 5'5" tall, Celine combined her passion for advocacy with a formidable intellect, poised to influence the arenas of policy and law.

The youngest, Alexandra, at 24, was the spitting image of her mother, Isabel. With her long, wavy ginger-red hair and vivid green eyes, Alexandra chose a path distinct from her siblings, drawn to the field of medicine. Her pursuit of a medical career was supported enthusiastically by her family, as they recognized her passion for healing and science. Despite her petite frame, standing at 5'2", Alexandra possessed a strength and determination that belied her size. This resilience was something her mother always emphasized: "Sois toujours forte pour toi-même, ma chérie. Personne ne sera aussi fort que toi pour toi." ("Always be strong for yourself, my darling. No one will be as strong for you as you can be for yourself.") These words became Alexandra's mantra, driving her to excel not only academically but also in maintaining a rigorous regimen of physical training and martial arts, preparing her for whatever challenges lay ahead.
