CHAPTER 34

"No!" yelled Ranulf as Skrimir was knocked out.

"Heed my words, Laguz Alliance!" yelled Zelgius. "I am General Zelgius of the Begnion Empire's Central Army! Your laguz general has fallen by my blade in a singular combat!" he proclaimed. "As the Central Army does not want to continue this senseless bloodshed, you must exit this place immediately, and now!" Zelgius yelled as he gave out the order. "As for the soldiers of Begnion, I forbid you to attack the fleeing laguz soldiers! This fight is officially over!" he also yelled.

Everyone on Begnion's side cheered on Zelgius.

"Oh, great…" said one mustached Begnion halberdier. "How am I supposed to get my kid a stuffed laguz now?" he asked.

The Laguz Allaince, however, was disappointed. One tiger laguz couldn't believe that Skrimir was defeated by a beorc soldier.

"We have to get revenge." said one cat laguz.

"We will fall back!" yelled Ranulf. "Please, listen to me, brothers!" yelled Ranulf. "I swear upon the Tellius skies and my personal life that I will bring Skrimir back with us! Fall back, soldiers! Fall back!" he yelled.

"Wise choice." said Zelgius. He then ordered Levail to return to base camp, as he had other businesses to attend to.

"Very well, Zelgius." said Levail.

Levail and his soldiers later retreated.

"What were you plotting?" asked Ranulf. "You could have crushed us!" he exclaimed.

"It's what the heads of the senate want, but Apostle Sanaki sees something different." Zelgius said. "She wants this resolved peacefully."

"So what do I have to do?" asked Ranulf.

"Arrange a peace proposal from your people." ordered Zelgius. "Sanaki will accept."

"Hmph." Ike grunted.

"Well, now you have things to think over." said Zelgius. "I'll give you a three day time range." he said as he made his exit. "Oh, and as for the heir to Gallia's lion king, he's alive. Treat him well." said Zelgius as he made a quick stop. He later left after that.

"So he's not down." said Ike.

"Come on." Ranulf said.

Both Ike and Ranulf left.

When Tibarn heard about the time range of three days for a peace proposal given by Zelgius, he asked Ranulf what everyone will do and what will become of Gallia. As Ranulf stated that Gallia cannot go any further due to Skrimir's unkilled defeat, the Laguz Alliance had no choice but to take a break from battle.

"But will Phoenicis take the peace talk?" asked Ike.

"I've yet to decide." Tibarn said. "And I imagine that a peace talk will be far from pleasant." he proclaimed.

"Well I do know from the Mad King's War that the apostle isn't that bad of a person." said Ranulf. "But for realism, the senate controls Begnion right now." Ranulf said.

"Well, can't we just contact the apostle directly?" asked Ike.

"No." Reyson said as he walked into their presence. "She won't even speak with Tanith and the Holy Guards these days, either." he stated. "This is all what Tanish herself said."

"OK, now there's something seriously wrong." said Ranulf.

"He's right." said Ike. "And what the heck is even happening in Begnion to begin with?" he asked.

"Well, the Laguz Alliance is separating temporarily." said Tibarn. "I think…it would be that time." Tibarn later let out a sigh and left.

"This is terrible…" said Kamaria. "Now what are we to do?" she asked.

Ike and Ranulf both shrugged their shoulders, not knowing what to do now. Both of them walked away together, too.

Kamaria then let out a sigh. "The Laguz Alliance retreats…I can't believe it…" said Kamaria. "Is this truly when I put down my lance…and retire my pegasus mount? I don't wanna have to do that…I had just reunited with my brother Kito, and now this happens…But on the bright side…I'm glad Skrimir is alive. Thank the goddess, Zelgius didn't kill him. It would have been the complete end if Skrimir was down…he's the heir to King Caineghis." Kamaria said to herself.
