I decided to write another chapter for this

Weiss was currently sitting at a desk in her Grimm studies classroom. Beside her was her team and in front of them, on the lower level was Team JNPR at their own desks. It's been a few days since the dance and the talk she had with Yang that night concerning Jaune certainly gave her food for thought.

She decided that the next time Jaune decides to ask her out she will accept his offer. Though depending on what it entailed she might offer something simpler. Like getting coffee or going for a walk or something. The goal wasn't to 'date' him now though, but to just talk to him and... Possibly turn him down.

She couldn't have him constantly asking her out after all. It irritated her and it probably wasn't great for him either. Yang's words on the difference between 'turning' someone down and 'shutting' them down really stuck with her. If she sat down and spoke with Jaune then perhaps this issue could be put to rest.

"Oho~ And here I felt bad I was helping you turn Jaune down. But it looks like you might have other plans~"

Yang jab popped into her head from that night they spoke and her eye flinched. She was not suddenly interested in Jaune. Seeing him in a better light, perhaps. But romantically? She doesn't believe her feelings can suddenly just 'flip' like that so easily.

She looked down at Jaune, she could only see the back of his head. Most of the time it was faced forward but then Nora might try whispering to him. Pyrrha and Ren seemed to try to keep their partners on track though.

Normally Jaune asks her out once a week in some way. But it's been a few days and nothing. In fact he hasn't even tried to strike up a conversation with her. At first she didn't think anything of it, but this was beginning to be irritating. Her entire plan was to accept his offer then speak to one another and work things out. But he's been unusually distant so now she's simply 'waiting' for him. It was just a matter of time before he tried something, but still.

She did consider asking him herself but... Thoughts of when she asked Neptune to the dance and he turned her down plagued her mind. She pushed herself so much to get the courage to ask him, even when she knew it was the mans job to ask the woman. Yet it backfired and he turned her down. She was upset during the moment, and at the dance, but she didn't realize how much it affected her. She still can't get the experience out of her head.

Was it the same for men? Jaune seemed to scrounge up the courage to ask her out time and time again yet he doesn't feel affected by rejection. Though maybe he was simply the odd one out.

The bell rang and it sparked Weiss away from her thoughts. Her team began to chat about something or another and picked up their books to leave. Weiss began to stand as well and kept a glance on Jaune. Normally now would be the time he turns towards her with a foolish grin on his face and asks her to join him for lunch, or go for a walk, maybe shove tickets in her face for some movie.

But instead he just took his books and left with his team. He didn't even glance in her direction. "What was going through that idiots head? Don't tell me he got cold feet now all of a sudden?"

Team JNPR left the classroom first, followed by Weiss and her team. It was time for lunch so they were all heading to the cafeteria. With Team JNPR in front of her, she still had Jaune in her line of sight. He was currently talking very animatedly with Pyrrha. Normally she would be listening to her team's chatter as well. Usually Ruby complaining about the class. But Jaune's distance from her was beginning to concern her too much. She felt like she was missing something.

"Hehehehe~"

"Huh?" Weiss heard a chuckle. She was so focused on Jaune that she didn't immediately realize where it came from. It wasn't her team... In fact it was... Pyrrha?

The champion let out a girlish giggle, bringing her fist up to her lips to stifle it. It seemed to be something Jaune said which was the cause.

Why was she noticing this? It wasn't too unusual. Perhaps Jaune actually landed a humorous punchline.

Then she saw it. Pyrrha's hand lowered from her mouth and a soft smile graced her lips. Her eyes were staring directly at Jaune with a combination of amusement and joy. Meanwhile Jaune continued to talk and she listened, hung on his every word.

Weiss' heart dropped.

She knew they were partners, and what she heard from Ruby or seen herself they got along well enough. But that wasn't a simple expression Pyrrha was giving. She's seen it time and time again at Atleasean balls where woman were being... 'Entertained' by a man. It had hidden intentions behind it. Intentions that Weiss didn't feel she liked.

"Did she always look at Jaune like that?" Weiss was unsure. She's never actually paid this much attention to Jaune before. And while she attempted to connect with Pyrrha on occasion, she would always do so when he wasn't around.

Her mind began to spin. Now that she noticed it, the two of them have been interacting with one another more often. That was only from what she's remembered as well. There could easily be many more times the two of them connected without her paying attention. They lived in the same dorm room after all.

What did they do when they were alone?

Weiss didn't like where these thoughts were taking her. Jaune was... Well, he liked her... Right? Ever since the first day of Beacon he's been head over heels for her. He wouldn't up and 'give up' just because things got a little rough.

… He did set her up with Neptune though. Was he wiping his hands of her? Was that it? He's finished vying for her affections so easily?

Weiss' fists clenched themselves as she walked. Her teams chatter falling on deaf ears. Her expression turned into a frown as she stared at Jaune and Pyrrha as they walked in front of them. Her chest felt as if a weight was placed atop it. She didn't want to continue to stare at them but couldn't bring herself to look away.

"What is this? I should be happy he's moving on! No more of him asking me out or pathetic musical numbers! Plus Pyrrha seems to enjoy his company. I was going to turn him down once and for all anyway!" She told herself, but her mind and emotions didn't seem to be in sync.

Pyrrha released another chuckle and she actually had the gall to place her hand on his shoulder. He responded by giving one of his silly toothy grins in her direction.

Weiss gritted her teeth and narrowed her eyes. That was how he looked at her the last time he asked her out. Smiling while holding that stupid guitar. She wanted to be angry, but she felt too sad. Her expression dropped and she stared at the floor.

She was too late.

This was actually shorter than the first one, but I felt like it was a fine stopping point. I'm not trying to write giant chapters with this anyway. Hell, I don't even know how many chapters I'll write. With Volume 9 basically making WhiteKnight canon in everything but saying it out loud I've been on a big Jaune and Weiss kick.

I also wanted to sort of test write one way but then have the character in question (Weiss) think and feel another. It was interesting to say the least.

Anyway, I hope you liked it. Please leave a review~
