Sunspots
Virgil and Ruby were at Dakota Union High in Mr. McGill's classroom with Richie and Allie as they and the other students were watching a video from a small TV that was on a rolling cart. The screen revealed the sun as it got bigger and unleashed solar flares. Ruby and Allie were sitting at a table close to Virgil and Richie's table on the left.
"This might look like the inside of a volcano, but it's actually a huge disturbance on the sun's surface called the sunspot." Mr. McGill explained as the TV showed the sun's surface up close before he turned off the TV.
"Sunspots can have unpredictable effects on radio waves, TV signals, magnetic energy, and even certain electromagnetic devices here on Earth." Mr. McGill continued as one student yawned and rubbed his eye.
While many of the students were feeling bored, Ruby was one of the only students who weren't bored since science is her favorite subject as she raised her hand.
"Yes, Ms. Hawkins?" Mr. McGill asked as Ruby put her hand down.
"Well, Mr. McGill. I've heard that solar flares are created when the lines of the sun's magnetic field near sunspots are tangled, crossed, or reorganized." Ruby explained.
"That's correct. All planets, moons, asteroids, and comets are surrounded by a magnetic field, even stars like the sun." Mr. McGill said.
"In fact, we're entering a sunspot cycle right now." Mr. McGill said.
"Can anyone tell me how long it will last?" Mr. McGill asked as Richie was playing tic-tac-toe on a piece of paper.
"Mr. Foley?" Mr. McGill asked.
"Yo." Richie said in shock as he dropped his pencil and looked at Mr. McGill.
"Uh, me?" Richie asked in shock as he put his hands on his chest.
"Uh, no-no, not really." Richie answered as he held his hands close to his chest.
"That's absolutely correct." Mr. McGill said as Richie put his hands on the desk.
"It is?" Richie asked.
"Yes, because no one can say for sure when a sunspot cycle is going to start or stop." Mr. McGill explained.
"And since you all seem so fascinated with this, tonight's homework will be pages 40 through 67." Mr. McGill said.
"Aw." The students whined.
"(Sigh) Another day, another boring homework assignment." Allie said with a bored expression as she laid her hand on her cheek and laid her other hand on the desk with her eyes squinted.
"Don't worry, Allie. I'm sure you'll be able to do it and pass this class." Ruby said as she looked at Allie.
"Thanks." Allie said with a smile as she looked at Ruby while sitting straight and took her hand off her cheek before they looked at Virgil and Richie.
Virgil was looking through the window while Richie looked at him.
"Same old equation, a hot day plus a couple of burgers at lunch plus a really dull lecture equals..." Richie said as Virgil kept looking through the window with Ruby's eyes widening while hearing sirens blaring.
"Virgil? What's out there?" Richie asked as he looked at Virgil.
"What's going on out there, Ruby?" Allie asked as she looked at Ruby.
Ruby looked at the window to see smoke from the distance as Richie and Allie looked out the window.
"I sense some magnetic fields at the distance and from that big cloud of smoke, it looks like there's a fire." Ruby said.
"What do we do?" Richie asked in concern.
"We are not doing anything." Virgil said as he looked at Richie.
"Oh, come on, Virg." Richie said.
"Sorry, but one of us has to stay here and take notes. And I think it should be the one without the superpowers." Virgil said.
"Yeah, I'm not gonna leave without taking notes on what we're going to do today and end up failing this class." Ruby said as she and Allie looked at Richie.
"I agree." Allie said.
"Discrimination, pure and simple." Richie said with a smile.
"Mr. McGill? Can I be excused?" Virgil asked as he raised his hand.
"What is it this time, Mr. Hawkins?" Mr. McGill asked as he turned around and looked at Virgil.
"Emergency phone call, left your book in your locker?" Mr. McGill guessed.
Ever since Virgil and Ruby got their powers, Virgil had to end up making excuses so they could save the day as Static. However, this made the teachers annoyed by Virgil's numerous excuses. Thankfully, Ruby doesn't make as many excuses as Virgil since she could let the Ulti-Meta Gang know and have them save the day without making the teachers suspicious of her.
"Um, actually it was the roast beef in the cafeteria." Virgil said.
"I had this weird green shine but it didn't smell too bad." Virgil said as he put his hand on his stomach.
"So I..." Virgil said as his cheeks bulged and he put his hand on his mouth while standing up from his seat.
"Alright, just go. Please." Mr. McGill said as he held out his hand.
"Don't worry, Mr. McGill. I'll go with Virgil to make sure he doesn't throw up on the floor." Ruby said as she stood up from her seat.
"Ok, Ms. Hawkins." Mr. McGill said.
Virgil ran past Mr. McGill while holding his stomach and his cheeks bugling while Ruby ran after him before he stopped bulging his cheeks and smirked. Virgil and Ruby ran outside of the school and into an alleyway.
Ruby was in her costume as she spun around in the air with her hands out and a magnetic field surrounding her. When she stopped spinning, her chest got closer as it showed the magnet symbol on her chest. However, Static and Magnetta caused an electric and magnetic explosion as they were flung out of the alleyway with Static surrounded in a purple electric aura while Magnetta was surrounded in a white magnetic aura. They screamed as they fell on the floor with a thud. When they got up, smoke came out of Static's body while Magnetta rubbed the side of her head.
"(Grunt) I'm really charged up today." Static said as he put his hand on his forehead.
"Must be eating my veggies." Static said as he put his hand down and flew away.
"I don't think it is. It must be the sunspots." Magnetta said as she put her hand down and flew after Static.
There was smoke coming out of a skyscraper with two firetrucks and a police car parked in front of the building with firefighters and civilians standing in front of the building while one of the fire trucks sprayed water on the building as Static and Magnetta flew down toward the building.
"Looks like everything's under control." Static said as he looked down before Magnetta's eyes widened.
Magnetta could sense a magnetic field trapped inside the building. She poked Static, making him look at Magnetta as she pointed her finger down with Static looking at where she was pointing at.
"Or not." Static said as he and Magnetta flew down.
There were two firefighters carrying axes and standing in front of a metal door as one of them swung his axe at the door, trying to break it.
"We gotta break this. Someone's in there." The firefighter said as he swung his axe at the door again while two firefighters ran toward another part of the building with one of them holding a hose while the other was holding an axe.
The firefighter kept swinging his axe at the door, creating a dent. But the door wouldn't open.
"It's solid steel. I can't budge it." The firefighter said as he held his axe in the air.
"Did you just say steel?" Magnetta asked as the two firefighters turned around to see Static and Magnetta flying toward them.
"Now that's a ferromagnetic metal I can rip off easily." Magnetta said.
"Static! Magnetta!" The firefighter yelled as Magnetta landed on the ground while Static levitated a few inches off the ground.
"Stand back." Magnetta said as she walked toward the door with the two firefighters backing away.
Magnetta stopped and was standing in front of the door as she held out her hand. Her hand glowed white along with the steel door as she swung her hand to the side, causing the steel door to burst off to reveal an old woman inside who gasped at what happened. Static and Magnetta saw the steel door flying up into the sky and almost hit a helicopter as it managed to fly out of the way.
"Sorry!" Magnetta yelled as she cupped her hands to the side of her mouth and looked at the helicopter.
"Guess you don't know your own strength, cous." Static said as he watched the steel door falling out of the sky while the two firefighters walked the old woman outside.
Static and Magnetta flew up into the sky as the two firefighters and the old woman watched them fly away. The steel door fell on some wires on the utility poles as blue electricity came out and crackled. One of the wires broke off while the wires holding the steel door bent as it fell on the road with more wires breaking off and electricity coming out of the end of the broken wires while slithering on the road. A car was driving toward the steel door and broken wires as the driver spun to the side while screaming with the tires screeching and ending up sliding toward the slithering wires before stopping. However, the driver was dangerously close to the slithering wires as the tips were sparkling with electricity. The man gasped when he saw how close the wires were as Static and Magnetta flew toward the scene. Static held out his hand and fired three purple electric bolts at the car and raised his fist to lift the car away. However, the car ended up being flung up into the air as Static and Magnetta backed away while Static screamed. Static and Magnetta watched the car flying up in the air with their jaws dropped as Magnetta held out her hand. Her hand glowed white along with the car as she lowered her hand and placed the car into a parking space at a parking lot before the car and her hand stopped glowing white. The man put his hands on the open car window as he was shaking and had his head sticking out halfway while Static and Magnetta landed in front of him.
"You okay, sir?" Static asked in concern as the man looked at him.
"You almost threw me into orbit. I was scared to death." The man said as he sat straight.
"We're really sorry, sir. But our powers have ended up becoming stronger than they used to." Magnetta said as she lowered her head to look at the man through the window.
"That so? Well, can you two drop me off at 44th and Third?" The man asked as he looked at Static and Magnetta.
"Didn't you just say you were scared to death?" Static asked.
"Yeah, but the traffic in this town is even scarier." The man said as Static looked at him with a weird expression.
A few hours later, Virgil, Richie, Ruby, and Allie were walking on the sidewalk as Virgil and Ruby were explaining about their powers being more powerful.
"It's like I'm on a whole new level now. I never dreamed I could have this much power." Virgil said.
"My powers have always been powerful before, but not like that." Ruby said.
"Gotta be those sunspots." Virgil said.
"Well, Mr. McGill did say they can affect electricity and magnetism." Richie said.
"But whatever it is, Static's really the man now." Richie said as they stopped with him and Virgil raising their hands.
"You got that right. Now, Magnetta is able to take on any metahuman who stands in her way." Allie said as she and Ruby raised their hands.
However, when Virgil and Richie high-fived, purple electricity came out of his hand, shocking Richie as he screamed, fell a few inches back, and landed on his butt. When Ruby and Allie high-fived, white magnetic energy came out of her hand, repelling Allie a few feet away as she screamed, hit her back on the wall from a building, and fell on her butt when she hit the ground.
"Allie!" Ruby yelled as she ran toward Allie who was looking at her back while rubbing it.
"Allie, I am so sorry. It was an accident." Ruby said as she was standing in front of Allie.
"It's okay. I've been through worst." Allie said as she got up and looked at Ruby.
That night, Virgil, Ruby, Sharon, and Robert were in the kitchen, having dinner.
"So, Virgil, what's this I hear about you and Daisy having a date tonight?" Robert asked as he looked at Virgil.
"Date? Who said anything about a..." Virgil asked until he saw Sharon with a smirk on her face while eating her food.
"I should have known." Virgil said as he looked at Sharon.
"I'm just going over to Daisy's to study some history. That's all." Virgil said as he looked at Robert.
"That better be all. Boy your age dating?" Robert said.
"In case you haven't noticed, I'm not wearing diapers anymore." Virgil said.
"Hmm, seems just like yesterday to me." Robert said as he twirled his fork around his plate.
"Can't handle the fact we're getting older?" Sharon asked as she walked toward the sink with her plate and put it in the sink.
"That I can handle just fine. What I can't handle is me getting older." Robert said as Sharon started washing the dishes.
"But, Daddy, you've been old for as long as I've known you." Sharon said as she turned her head to look at Robert while he, Virgil, and Ruby looked at her before she walked toward them.
"(Laugh) So cute. Stuart would've said the same thing too." Robert said as he lowered his glasses to look at Sharon.
As soon as he finished his sentence, the lights went out and the kitchen was in total darkness.
"What now?" Robert complained as he adjusted his glasses and looked up.
"Hmm. Must be the circuit breakers again." Sharon said as Robert got out of his chair.
Suddenly, the lights started to flicker on and off with electricity crackling as Virgil, Ruby, Robert, and Sharon looked up. Robert walked out of the kitchen as Virgil, Ruby, and Sharon watched him leave before looking up again to see the lights flickering.
"Sharon, bring me the flashlight!" Robert yelled from a distance as Sharon walked out of the kitchen to help him while Virgil and Ruby watched her leave.
After Sharon was gone, the lights turned off before turning back on as Virgil and Ruby looked down to see their plates, silverware, and cups shaking. Virgil and Ruby's knife, fork, and spoon floated into the air while Ruby's plate floated up with her silverware. Ruby's plate, fork, knife, and spoon were surrounded in white magnetic auras as her silverware orbited around her plate while her plate spun around. While Virgil's silverware wasn't surrounded by an energy aura like Ruby's. Virgil and Ruby looked at their silverware floating in the air for a few seconds before they realized what was happening as Virgil got up from his chair.
"This isn't the circuit breakers. It's us." Virgil said as he walked out of the kitchen, making his silverware drop on the table with Ruby watching him leave before she looked at her plate and silverware again.
"Our powers are starting to get out of control. I better call Allie." Ruby said as she got out of her seat and walked out of the kitchen.
After she left, her plate and silverware stopped glowing white and dropped to the table. Ruby walked into her room and grabbed her phone by her bed as she dialed Allie's number.
"Allie, I've got a big problem." Ruby said on her phone.
Allie was sitting on her bed, reading her science homework while holding her phone.
"What's wrong, Ruby?" Allie asked on her phone in concern.
"Me and Virgil have too much power now and it's taking all my willpower to try and control it." Ruby said on the phone as she looked at her hand which was surrounded in a white magnetic field.
"Virgil and I need to get out of the house before something bad happens if our powers get out of control." Ruby said on the phone as the magnetic field surrounding her hand disappeared before she lowered her hand.
'That doesn't sound good. I hope you manage to control your powers until the sunspot cycle ends.' Allie said through Ruby's phone.
"Thanks. I better head outside before my powers go haywire, but I'll learn how to control them soon. Bye." Ruby said on her phone.
"Bye." Allie said on the phone as Ruby hang up and put her phone away.
"Time to get out of here." Ruby said as she walked out of her room.
A few hours later, Static and Magnetta were at an alleyway as Static put on his glove while Magnetta put on her mask. As soon as they put them on, Static was surrounded in a purple electric aura with purple electric bolts coming out while Magnetta was surrounded in a white magnetic aura as Static and Magnetta looked at themselves before their purple electric and white magnetic aura disappeared. Static looked at the purple electric bolts going around his body while Magnetta looked at the magnetic field surrounding her body before they disappeared.
"We gotta go work this off." Static said as he took out his Static Saucer and threw it away before it spun around him a few times.
Purple electric bolts came out of Static while white magnetic pulses came out of Magnetta before they disappeared. Magnetta was surrounded in a white magnetic aura while Static was surrounded in a purple electric aura as he hopped onto his Static Saucer and when he got on, he was surrounded in a purple electric barrier with three purple electric bolts coming out of the barrier. Static and Magnetta bent their knees as they were about to take off. However, Static and Magnetta ended up being launched high into the sky at a very fast pace as they screamed with a purple electric bolt coming out of the end of the Static Saucer. They flew through the city very fast while leaving a trail of purple electricity and white magnetic energy as they kept screaming while flying higher. Then, they zoomed under a bridge that looked like the Golden Gate Bridge while creating some waves in the water while screaming. Finally, they ended up flying away from Dakota City.
"Too much power!" Static yelled as he and Magnetta flew over the ocean while creating small waves.
Static and Magnetta flew high into the sky while screaming as they looked down before looking back and were now flying over the clouds. Magnetta closed her eyes, relaxed, and took a deep breath.
"Come on, Magnetta. Focus...concentrate. Relax." Magnetta said calmly while keeping her eyes closed.
After a few seconds, Magnetta started to slow down and managed to make herself stop as she opened her eyes.
"Yes! I did it!" Magnetta cheered as she looked at herself levitating in the air before she heard screaming and saw Static flying away.
"Hang on, Static! I'm coming!" Magnetta yelled as she cupped her mouth with one hand before lowering her hand.
Magnetta flew after Static at a fast pace as she now had full control of her magnetokinetic flight. Static kept on screaming as he flew down to a desert and landed on the ground. Static was lying on his stomach with his face on the ground. Magnetta flew toward the desert and saw her cousin on the desert ground while also noticing the trail he left and the pile of sand behind him. Magnetta flew down to where Static was lying as he lifted his head off the ground and saw the dirt trail he left behind when he crashed.
"Are you okay, Static?" Magnetta asked in concern as she landed next to Static and looked at him.
"I'm fine." Static said as he looked at his cousin.
"But, I better get Frequent Flyer Miles for this." Static said as he put his hand on his head.
A few hours later, Static and Magnetta were lying on their stomachs as they were laying on top of an airplane with their hands and feet spread out. Static was wearing his yellow goggles with his arms and legs surrounded in purple electricity while Magnetta's hands and feet were surrounded in a white magnetic aura. Magnetta was lying in front of Static while he was lying behind her.
"Note to self. Next time, make reservations extra early." Static said as he took out his Static Saucer and threw it into the air.
The Static Saucer flew up in the air before coming back as Static and Magnetta stood up with the bottom of Static's feet surrounded in purple electricity while Magnetta's feet were still surrounded in a white magnetic aura. Static and Magnetta backflipped out of the plane as the purple electricity and white magnetic aura on their feet disappeared. Static had his hands up in the air while Magnetta held her hands out on each side as they fell through the sky. Until Static landed on his Static Saucer and Magnetta was surrounded in a white magnetic aura as they levitated in the air before flying away and flew down to the city. They flew down toward the Junkyard and levitated a few inches off the ground. As soon as Static and Magnetta were levitating off the ground, they ended up releasing purple electromagnetic and white magnetic waves from his Static Saucer and Magnetta's feet.
"Huh?" Static wondered as he and Magnetta looked at the waves blasting away everything in their path.
Once the electromagnetic and magnetic waves stopped, Static took off his goggles and gasped at what he saw.
"When is this gonna end?" Static wondered as he and Magnetta were levitating over a large circle with all the objects near them pushed away.
"I have no idea." Magnetta said as she and Static looked at the mess.
Suddenly, they turned around to see the sun rising.
"This is all your fault, Mr. Sun! You know that?" Static yelled as he looked at the sun.
A few hours later, Ruby walked into her room with her pajamas on as her alarm clock showed 6:05.
"I've only got two and a half hours before school, so I'll have to get as much sleep as I can." Ruby said as she got on her bed and put her blanket over her.
"I have to control my powers soon before they get out of hand." Ruby said as she lay on her bed, closed her eyes, and went to sleep.
However, after a few seconds, her magnets and CDs were pulled toward Ruby and stuck to her body. Suddenly, all of her magnets, CDs, and books were now sticking to her body. An hour later, her alarm clock started beeping when it showed 7:30. Ruby turned it off, sat up, and yawned as she stretched her arms up in the air. However, when she opened her eyes, she gasped when she saw all her magnets, CDs, and books sticking to her body as she held her arms out on each side.
"(Sigh) Not again. I'm definitely gonna learn to control my magnetic powers during this sunspot cycle." Ruby said as she demagnetized the objects sticking on her body, causing them to fall on her bed.
"I better put these away before I get ready for school." Ruby said as she looked at the objects on her bed.
A few hours later at Dakota Union High, Allie was waiting for Ruby as she stood behind a fence while reading a book before she saw Ruby walking toward her with her red backpack.
"Hi, Ruby. Are you okay?" Allie asked in concern as she closed her book, held it with one hand, and lowered her hand before Ruby stopped and stood in front of her.
"I'm fine. Just a little tired." Ruby said.
"How are your powers?" Allie asked.
"They're fine now. I spend 20 minutes in the junkyard learning to control my powers." Ruby explained as she jerked her thumb behind her back.
"How did it go?" Allie asked.
"It went good. I've managed to fully control my extra magnetism and I'm now able to prevent them from going haywire." Ruby explained as she lowered her hand.
"That's great." Allie said with a smile as she and Ruby high-fived without being repelled by Ruby's magnetic powers.
But when Ruby and Allie lowered their hands after high-fiving each other, Allie turned her head and had a scared expression from what she saw.
"This can't be happening." Allie said in fear as she leaned back with her hands out.
Ruby turned around to see what she was looking at.
"I don't believe it." Ruby said in shock as she couldn't believe what she was seeing.
They saw Kathryn Collins walking through the school in her normal clothes as she looked around with an angry expression. She hasn't been seen since she and the Meta-Breed got arrested after helping the Joker a few months ago.
"I thought she was in jail after helping the Joker." Allie said.
"They must've paroled her." Ruby guessed.
Kathryn was looking left until she saw Ruby and Allie in front of her as she smirked and walked faster.
"She's coming this way. What do we do?" Allie asked with a hint of fear as she and Ruby watched Kathryn walking toward them.
"Just stay calm." Ruby said as she and Allie kept looking at Kathryn.
"Easy for you to say when you have superpowers." Allie said as she turned her head to look at Ruby.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't Ruby Hawkins and Allie Langford." Kathryn said as she stood in front of the two girls with her hands on her hips.
"Hi." Allie said nervously as she waved her hand.
"Look, Kathryn, we don't want any trouble." Ruby said.
"Neither do I. So, here's what you need to know. If you get in my way, I'll tell the whole school your real identity, including your cousin's secret identity." Kathryn explained as she pointed her finger at Ruby.
"You can't do that." Allie said in shock as she held out her hands on each side.
"Oh, yes I can." Kathryn said as she glared at Allie.
"See you in class." Kathryn said as she turned around, waved goodbye, and walked away.
"Is she serious?" Allie asked as she looked at Ruby before watching Kathryn leave.
"Of course, she's always been serious and would never bluff." Ruby said as she watched Kathryn walk away.
"At least with your powers the way they are, if she gets herself into trouble, you can easily knock her out with just one hand." Allie said as she moved her eyes to look at Ruby.
"Unless she uses Hotstreak's fire powers. Don't forget, she has the powers of all the Bang Baby's that appeared in Dakota." Ruby said as she looked at her best friend.
"Right, I almost forgot about that." Allie said.
Kathryn walked away, looking at Ruby with a stern expression while Ruby looked at her back with a stern expression.
Inside the hallway, Virgil, Ruby, Richie, and Allie were walking toward a classroom as many students walked inside in a single file line. Virgil and Richie told Ruby and Allie that they saw Francis while Ruby and Allie told Virgil and Richie that they ran into Kathryn. They stopped when they saw Daisy as she stopped and stood in front of Virgil, Ruby, Richie, and Allie.
"Daisy." Virgil said.
"Virgil." Daisy said with a raised eyebrow.
Virgil gasped when he realized that he had forgotten about his study night with Daisy.
"Last night! Oh, I'm so sorry!" Virgil said.
"It's not a problem for me, Virgil." Daisy said angrily with her hand on her hip and holding up her other hand while holding her book as she waved her finger side-to-side before lowering her hand.
"I'm not the one who needed to brush up for the history test. Which is today, in case you forgot that too." Daisy said angrily as she walked past Virgil, Ruby, Richie, and Allie while holding her book close to her chest with both hands.
Virgil, Ruby, Richie, and Allie turned around to watch Daisy leave before Virgil and Richie looked at each other and walked after Daisy with Ruby and Allie following them.
"I'm guessing it's because you and Virgil had to burn off your extra electricity and magnetism. Right?" Allie guessed as she whispered at Ruby.
"Yep. It would be a lot easier if Daisy knew Virgil's secret identity." Ruby whispered.
"You're right. But, I don't think Virgil's ready to tell her or if he even wants her to know." Allie said.
"Right. We'll have to worry all about that later." Ruby said as they kept walking with Virgil and Richie to their history class.
Virgil, Ruby, Richie, and Allie were in their history class, doing their history test. All the students were writing the answers on their papers. Richie was sitting next to Virgil's right while Ruby and Allie were sitting in front of him and Virgil. Ruby was sitting in front of Virgil while Allie was sitting next to Ruby's right and in front of Richie. Virgil was looking up with his hand on his cheek while his pointer finger was pointing up as he was patting his cheek with his hand before looking at Daisy sitting on his left, who was looking at her test with a monotone expression while writing down her answers. Ruby was writing the answers on her test before looking back to see Virgil looking at Daisy with a frown on his face. Ruby turned back to continue working on her test as Virgil kept looking at Daisy while scribbling the test answers before a paper clip was pulled toward his hand. Virgil turned his head to look at his paper as it flew toward him and stuck to his body along with another paper clip, his pencil, and a few more papers.
"Oh no." Virgil said as he tried to shake the papers off his body before looking at Richie.
"They're sticking to me now, too." Richie said as he took two papers off his chest with two pieces of paper sticking on the side of his head while his pencil was sticking on his ear.
"Me three." Allie said as Virgil and Richie looked to see a piece of paper sticking on top of her head and her pencil sticking on her cheek while holding her arms on each side to show a bunch of papers sticking on her arms and stomach.
"How is nothing sticking on you, Ruby?" Virgil asked as he looked at Ruby, who had nothing sticking to her body.
"My magnetic field must be protecting me from your powers by repelling everything away from my body to prevent them from sticking to me." Ruby explained as she looked at Virgil.
Suddenly, lots of papers flew around the classroom with all the students watching the papers flying. Ruby and Allie saw Frieda, who was sitting in front of Allie, trying to pull off a piece of paper sticking to her face.
"I can't see!" Frieda yelled through the paper.
Allie grabbed the piece of paper stuck to Frieda's face and pulled. After a few struggles, Allie managed to get the paper off of Frieda's face as Allie held the paper in her hands.
"Phew. Thanks." Frieda said as she looked at Allie before fixing her hair.
"Turn it off, Virg." Richie said as he looked at Virgil.
"I can't. It's out of control again." Virgil said as he looked to see Daisy trying to shake the papers off her body.
"What about you, Ruby? Can't you demagnetize these papers off us?" Richie asked as he looked at Ruby.
"I can. But I can't risk using my powers in front of the whole class." Ruby said as she looked at Richie.
Suddenly, Virgil, Ruby, Richie, Allie, Frieda, and Daisy's hair started floating up in the air along with the other students' hair as they looked up to see the lights started flickering and the fire alarm going off with all the students screaming. The lights shined brighter as everyone covered their eyes and screamed with purple electric bolts coming out. The students got out of their seats and ran out of the classroom. They ran outside and stood in front of the school as they looked at the school building.
"I'm not going back there now without an exorcist." An African-American girl said with a hint of fear.
"I know." A male student said.
"Let's get out of here." Another male student said as all the students ran away, including Frieda and Daisy.
The only people who stayed behind were Virgil, Ruby, Richie, and Allie.
"I gotta get rid of some of this electricity." Virgil said as he looked at the purple electric bolt on his hand before it disappeared.
"Either that or become your own public utility." Richie said as he looked at Virgil's hand.
"At least I'm able to control some of this magnetism." Ruby said as she looked at her hand.
"Yeah, that's a relief." Allie said as she looked at Ruby's hand.
Virgil and Ruby lowered their hands and walked away as Richie and Allie watched them leave.
A few hours later, Static and Magnetta were levitating in the middle of the ocean as Static's hands were surrounded in purple electric balls and fired three purple electric bolts from each of his hands with electricity crackling. While Magnetta levitated next to him as she watched Static getting rid of his electricity. After a few minutes, the purple electric bolts and purple electricity around his hands faded away. However, this caused the purple electric aura around his Static Saucer to disappear.
"Whoa!" Static yelled as he dropped down for a few seconds before a purple electric aura surrounded his Static Saucer again and flew back up.
Once he was back in the air, he took out his Shock Vox while Magnetta took out her Solar Pole.
"Allie, Virgil's done." Magnetta said in her Solar Pole.
"I just hope it stays that way for a few hours before he ends up accidentally electrocuting us when he gives us a high-five." Allie said in her Solar Pole as she sat on her bed.
"Richie, I got rid of it all." Static said in his Shock Vox.
"That's what you said last time." Richie said in his Shock Vox as he was in his room, sitting on his chair that was in front of his desk.
"But this time feels different." Static said in his Shock Vox as he and Magnetta were flying back to Dakota.
"Like, it's really gone. Real..." Static said until the purple electric aura surrounding his Static Saucer faded away.
"Whoa!" Static yelled as he dropped down for a few seconds before the purple electric aura reappeared around his Static Saucer with Magnetta looking at him with concern.
"Static, are you o..." Magnetta asked until her white magnetic aura disappeared.
"Whoa!" Magnetta yelled as she dropped down for a few seconds before her white magnetic aura reappeared.
"Virg? Virgil?" Richie asked in his Shock Vox.
'What's the matter?' Richie asked through Static's Shock Vox as the purple electric aura around Static's Static Saucer and the white magnetic aura around Magnetta's body disappeared for a few seconds before reappearing, causing them to fly lower.
'Ruby, what's wrong?' Allie asked through Magnetta's Solar Pole.
"I'm losing power." Static said in his Shock Vox as he wobbled on his Static Saucer for a second while looking at the ocean.
"Me too." Magnetta said in her Solar Pole.
"Well, that was the whole idea." Richie said in his Shock Vox.
"Yeah, but not this much." Static said in his Shock Vox.
"And I didn't even get rid of all my magnetism." Magnetta said as she and Static saw that they were getting close to Dakota.
Static and Magnetta were flying up and down multiple times before the purple electric aura around Static's Static Saucer and the white magnetic aura around Magnetta's body disappeared.
"Aah!" Static and Magnetta screamed as they dropped and fell into the water, making a big splash.
"V? Can you hear me? V!" Richie said in his Shock Vox.
"Ruby? Ruby, are you okay?" Allie asked in her Solar Pole.
Static and Magnetta were floating in the water with their eyes closed before they opened their eyes, took out their Shock Vox and Solar Pole, and shook their heads to shake the water off their faces.
"I'm okay, Allie." Magnetta said in her Solar Pole.
"My powers are gone, Rich. Gone." Static said as he looked at his other hand.
"My powers are gone too, Allie." Magnetta said as she looked at her other hand.
The next day, Virgil, Ruby, and Daisy were at Dakota Union High, sitting outside on a bench close to a table as they were studying for the history test. Virgil was sitting next to Daisy's left, Daisy was sitting in the middle while holding an open book in her hands, and Ruby was sitting next to Daisy's right. Ever since Virgil and Ruby lost their powers yesterday, Virgil had enough time to study with Daisy.
"And the 'Return to normalcy' was a perfect campaign slogan because after World War I..." Virgil explained as Daisy smiled at him before looking at him with a shocked expression and a raised eyebrow.
"...everybody wanted things to go back to the way they were. But-" Virgil continued before he was interrupted by Daisy.
"I don't believe it." Daisy said in shock.
"It's all true." Virgil said as Daisy closed her book.
"I read it in-" Virgil said before he was interrupted by Daisy again.
"No, I don't believe that you're finally studying." Daisy said.
"You got that right. He's starting to know everything that happened in World War I, now." Ruby said as she looked at Daisy.
"I used to study all the time. You don't get on the honor roll cause of good looks, you know?" Virgil said.
"So, what happened?" Daisy asked with a smile.
"Other things kept getting in the way." Virgil answered as Daisy put her fists on her chin.
"Like what?" Daisy asked.
"Well, uh-uh..." Virgil said as he tried to think of a way to answer Daisy's question.
"Oh, look, there's Richie and Allie." Virgil said as he pointed his finger at Richie and Allie with Ruby looking at where he was pointing.
Richie and Allie were walking toward Virgil and Ruby with smiles on their faces.
"Ruby and I gotta go talk to them, but...how about we pick up on the history again?" Virgil said as he put his books in his backpack while Ruby grabbed her backpack and put it on her back.
"...same place, same time, this Thursday?" Virgil asked as he and Ruby got up from their seats.
"Sure you won't forget?" Daisy asked as she looked at Virgil.
"Daisy, that stuff's all in the past now. I got my very own 'return to normalcy.'" Virgil said as he walked away.
"See you later, Daisy." Ruby said as she followed Virgil with Daisy watching her and Virgil walking away.
"It looks like Daisy's speaking to you again." Richie said as Virgil and Ruby stopped and stood in front of him and Allie while Richie held out his hand to point at Daisy.
"Her and me, we cleared up everything." Virgil said as he and Richie fist-bumped and turned his head to look at Daisy with Richie, Ruby, and Allie looking at Daisy too.
Virgil, Ruby, Richie, and Allie saw Daisy waving at them with a smile.
"Amazing what you can do with a little free time." Virgil said as he, Ruby, Richie, and Allie waved back at Daisy.
"You and Ruby get any of your powers back?" Richie asked as he, Virgil, Ruby, and Allie walked away.
After a few seconds, Virgil turned his head to see if Daisy was watching.
"Best I can do." Virgil said as he looked back and held out his hand to show Richie, Ruby, and Allie a purple rainbow-shaped electric bolt on his thumb and finger.
"Can't hold a charge either." Virgil said as he looked at the small purple electric bolt.
"What about you Ruby?" Allie asked as she looked at Ruby.
"This is all I can do, so far." Ruby said as she held out her hand to show Virgil, Richie, and Allie a white magnetic field surrounding her hand.
"These sunspots have got to end sometime." Allie said as Virgil and Ruby lowered their hands.
"Don't worry. I'm okay with it." Virgil said with a smile.
"Me too." Ruby said with a smile.
"Are you guys serious?" Allie asked as she looked at Virgil and Ruby in shock with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, come one. You two love being heroes." Richie said as he, Virgil, Ruby, and Allie stopped and looked at each other.
"Yeah, but I also love having my own life again. Got time for my friends, time to study, time to sleep." Virgil explained to Richie as he put his hand on Richie's arm before lowering his hand.
"I could get used to it." Virgil said as he jerked his thumb at his chest to point at himself.
"Me too. Besides, I like having some free time from being a superhero sometimes." Ruby said as she and Allie looked at each other.
However, as soon as she finished her sentence, they heard something in the distance.
"Let go of me!" A boy yelled as Virgil, Ruby, Richie, and Allie turned around with shocked expressions and their jaws dropped.
"Let me go!" A girl yelled.
"Hey, come on, man!" The boy yelled as Virgil, Ruby, Richie, and Allie looked at each other before running toward the scene.
"Ow, you're hurting my wrist!" The girl yelled.
It showed Francis holding a young African-American boy's wrist and Kathryn holding a young white girl's wrist as they were standing near a wall.
"Bet you can't make me let go. Bet ya, say, your lunch money?" Francis said as Virgil, Ruby, Richie, and Allie stopped and looked at the young boy and girl struggling to break free from Francis and Kathryn's grip.
"I'll let you go if you agree to do my homework for me." Kathryn said.
"I don't wanna bet! I just wanna go!" The boy yelled angrily as Francis looked at him.
"And I'm not doing your homework! I'll get in trouble if I do!" The girl yelled angrily at Kathryn.
"'I just wanna go!' Hey, where's your sporting spirit?" Francis said as he let go of the boy's wrist and put his hands on the wall to block the boy with Francis getting close to his face.
"Trouble? Please, you're only in trouble if you get caught. So, you either do it or suffer the consequences." Kathryn said with a stern expression as she got close to the girl's face and tightened her grip on the girl's wrist, causing her to wince in pain.
"I'd get a refund on that anger management class if I were him." Richie said.
"Tell me about it. Even Rubberband Man should take anger management classes." Allie said as Virgil and Ruby glared at Francis and Kathryn and started to walk toward them.
"Virg, no!" Richie yelled as he held out his hand and ran after Virgil.
"Ruby, don't!" Allie yelled as she ran after Ruby.
"Hotstreak!" Virgil yelled angrily.
"Copy Cat!" Ruby yelled angrily as she and Virgil stopped and stood in front of Francis and Kathryn.
Francis and Kathryn turned around to see Virgil and Ruby standing in front of them with angry expressions as Francis took his hands off the wall while Kathryn let go of the girl's wrist, making the girl rub her wrist.
"You want some of this, Hawkins? Huh?" Francis asked angrily as he got close to Virgil's face while putting his hand on his chest.
"You wanna play rough, Maggie Grave? Do you?" Kathryn asked angrily as she got close to Ruby's face.
Virgil, Ruby, Francis, and Kathryn glared at each other until Richie and Allie showed up.
"No, no, he does not! No way." Richie said in fear as he got in front of Virgil and pushed him away from Francis, who lowered his hand.
"No, she does not! Let's go, Ruby." Allie said in fear as she grabbed Ruby's wrist and pulled her away from Kathryn.
Francis glared at Virgil and Richie with his eyes glowing white while Kathryn glared at Ruby and Allie with her eyes glowing blue.
"Now, where were we?" Francis asked as he walked toward the boy and stood in front of him.
The boy looked at Francis with a scared expression as he had his back touching the wall.
"Let's get back to where we started." Kathryn said as she walked toward the girl and stood in front of her.
The girl looked at Kathryn with a scared expression as she had her back touching the wall.
Richie and Allie looked at the scene before looking at Virgil and Ruby.
"Are you both crazy?" Richie said as he looked at Virgil.
"What were both of you thinking?" Allie asked as she took her hand off Ruby's wrist and looked at her.
"Maybe if all of us-" Virgil said but was interrupted by Richie as he took his arms off of Virgil's chest.
"Ten of us wouldn't do any good against Hotstreak." Richie said.
"Heck, not even twenty of us can do anything against Copy Cat." Allie said as she held out her hand to point at Francis and Kathryn.
"Maybe they lost their powers too." Virgil guessed.
"I doubt that." Ruby said as she looked at her cousin.
Ruby knew that pyrokinetics couldn't lose their fire powers during sunspots even though she learned that infrared waves are emitted by fires. Instead of pyrokinetics losing their powers during sunspots, their fire gets even hotter. While Copy Cat would only lose Static's electromagnetic powers and Magnetta's magnetic powers.
"Aah!" The boy and girl screamed as Virgil, Ruby, Richie, and Allie turned around to see Francis holding out his hands firing fireballs with his hands surrounded in fireballs while Kathryn was holding out her hands firing multiple ionic energy balls at the boy and girl.
The boy and girl ran away in fear to avoid getting hit by the Fracnis' fireballs and Kathyrn's ionic energy balls. Francis and Kathryn started laughing with purple gas coming out of Francis' body as Virgil, Ruby, Richie, and Allie watched the scene before a security guard walked by and stopped when he saw what Francis and Kathryn were doing.
"Hey!" The security guard yelled as he ran toward Francis and Kathryn.
The fireball surrounding Francis' right hand disappeared as he held his other hand up in the air with his right hand on his chest and was looking up with eyes closed while laughing. Kathryn lowered her hands as she watched where the boy and girl ran away with an evil smirk on her face.
"No such luck." Richie said.
"Should've known. Their powers aren't electromagnetic." Virgil said.
"Actually they are, since fires emit infrared waves. But instead of Fancis losing his fire powers, his fire gets even hotter while Kathryn can use all the powers from every Bang Baby, except ours." Ruby said as Francis kept laughing.
"Hey! Stop that, now!" The security guard yelled as he stopped and stood in front of Francis and Kathryn while pointing his finger at them.
"Make me." Francis said with a smirk as he looked at the security guard while his eyes were glowing white and purple gas coming out of his body.
"You can't tell us what to do." Kathryn said with a smirk as she looked at the security guard while her eyes were glowing blue.
Francis and Kathryn turned around to face the security guard as Francis held his hands up in the air, surrounding his hands in fireballs. Francis held out his hands on each side and fired two streams of fire that slithered on the ground. When they got close to the security guard, it created a wall of fire in front of him as he backed away with his hands up before turning around and running away.
"Your turn." Kathryn said with a smirk as she turned around to look at Virgil, Richie, Ruby, and Allie.
Kathryn held out her hand and fired a fire blast at Virgil, Richie, Ruby, and Allie. However, Virgil, Richie, Ruby, and Allie ran away as the fire blast landed on the spot they were standing on. The fire that Francis and Kathryn caused started to spread as a giant wall of fire blocked the front of Dakota Union High, with all the students looking at the wall of fire, including Virgil, Richie, Ruby, and Allie.
"We gotta do something!" Virgil yelled.
"What can we do? You two don't have any powers." Richie said in fear as he looked at Virgil and Ruby.
"Even if you do, Ruby's magnetic powers won't be able to work against Francis and Kathryn's fire powers, especially if they're hotter during the sunspots." Allie said.
"I got an idea." Virgil said as he ran away.
"Way ahead of you." Ruby said as she ran after Virgil.
"Uh..." Richie wondered as he and Allie ran after Virgil and Ruby.
Virgil, Richie, Ruby, and Allie were at the Abandoned Gas Station of Solitude as Virgil and Ruby were looking for something.
"Somebody's got to stand up to Flame Head and Kitty Cat." Virgil said as he took a piece of tile off the floor with him and Ruby on their knees while Richie and Allie stood next to them.
"Well, those somebody's can't be you and Ruby." Allie said as Virgil and Ruby put their hands inside the hole.
"Static and Magnetta are the only people who can put them in their place." Ruby said as she looked at Allie before she and Virgil each took out two egg cartons.
Virgil and Ruby stood up and walked toward a desk as Richie and Allie followed them.
"They're afraid of us. I know it." Virgil said as he and Ruby put the egg cartons down and each opened one to reveal the Zap Caps and Mag Tags.
"What're you doing with the Zap Caps and Mag Tags? You said you can't hold a charge..." Richie said as Virgil and Richie closed the egg cartons with Virgil putting his egg carton in one bag while Ruby put her egg carton in another bag.
"...what good are they gonna do ya?" Richie asked as Virgil and Ruby walked toward him and Allie.
"You'll see." Ruby said as she and Virgil looked at the bags with a smile on their faces.
A few hours later, a lot of students kept looking at the large fire wall as three police cars arrived at the scene. Hotstreak and Copy Cat could be seen through the fire wall with Hostreak's eyes glowing white and purple gas coming out of his body while Copt Cat's eyes stopped glowing blue as they used their powers to clear a path for them and revealed Copy Cat in her costume after using Rubberband Man's powers to change her clothes. Hostreak and Copy Cat walked through the path before they covered the path in fire as the students ran away in fear. Hostreak and Copy Cat stopped when they got on the sidewalk as three police officers walked toward them. Hotstreak and Copy Cat looked at them with angry expressions before they smiled. Hostreak placed his fists close to his chest and surrounded them in fireballs while Copy Cat closed her hands into fists and surrounded them in fireballs before they held out their hands and fired fireballs at the police officers as the three police officers ran back to the police cars and took cover with fireballs raining down on the street. Meanwhile Static and Magnetta were hiding in an alleyway as they watched the scene while holding the bag of Zap Caps and Mag Tags in their hands.
"Any way we can talk you guys out of this?" Allie asked as she and Richie walked toward Static and Magnetta.
"Can't think of one. Maybe it'll come to us later." Static said.
"Didn't you say something about 'having your own life again', about 'getting used to it?'" Richie asked as Static took out three Zap Caps and gave the bag to him.
"I guess that's just not enough for me." Static answered.
"I was right. He loves being a hero." Richie said to Allie as they both looked at each other.
"What about you Ruby? Don't you miss having a normal life?" Allie asked as she looked at Magnetta.
"Not really. Even though I love taking a break from being a superhero, I just can't resist wanting to help people in trouble." Magnetta answered as she took out three Mag Tags.
"Yeah, you always had that problem and no one could ever stop you from doing it, not even me. So, I guess there's nothing I can do to stop you from doing this." Allie said as Magnetta gave the bag to her.
Static and Magnetta hid behind a police car that was flipped upside down and smoke coming out while Richie and Allie hid in the alleyway, holding the bag of Zap Caps and Mag Tags. Static and Magnetta threw a Zap Cap and Mag Tag in the air as Hotstreak and Copy Cat were wiping their hands before the Zap Cap and Mag Tag exploded with purple electricity and white magnetic energy. This caused Hotstreak and Copy Cat to look at the two explosions as they held their hands close to their chests and backed away in fear, looking at the electric and magnetic explosions with electricity crackling. Hotstreak and Copy Cat continued to back away from the two explosions before Static, Magnetta, Richie, and Allie started throwing multiple Zap Caps and Mag Tags at them. The Zap Caps and Mag Tags were thrown everywhere to surround Hotstreak and Copy Cat as they backed away while looking at the explosions caused by the Zap Caps and Mag Tags. They turned around to see a wall of purple electricity and white magnetic energy in front of them as they disappeared, covering the area in smoke.
"Time to chill, Hotstreak and Copy Cat!" Static yelled with a stern expression as he and Magnetta jumped through the cloud of smoke and pointed his finger at Hotstreak and Copy Cat.
"Static!" Hotstreak yelled as the wall of fire in front of Dakota Union High disappeared with purple gas coming out of his body.
"Magnetta!" Copy Cat yelled as the wall of smoke behind Static and Magnetta disappeared.
"You remember us. Hope you remember what we did to you two last time." Static said as he pointed his finger at Hotstreak and Copy Cat and had his fist on his hip.
"But here's a solution, Static and I want you two to calm down and quietly turn yourself in." Magnetta with her hands on her hips as Hotstreak's eyes glowed white.
"Ah, that's not my style." Hotstreak said.
"Same here." Copy Cat said.
"Listen to me. My cousin and I have gotten even stronger since last time." Static said as he pointed his finger at Hotstreak.
"Here's what I can do with just a blink of an eye." Static said with a smile.
"And here's what I can do with just a snap of my fingers." Magnetta said with a smile as she held her hand close to her chest.
Static blinked his eye and Magnetta snapped her fingers as Richie and Allie threw a Zap Cap and Mag Tag at Hotstreak and Copy Cat. The Zap Cap landed in front of Hotstreak while the Mag Tag landed in front of Copy Cat.
"Agh!" Hotstreak and Copy Cat yelled as they put their hands up and looked at the two explosions.
"And here's the other eye." Static said with a smile.
"And here are both my fingers." Magnetta said with a smile as she held her other hand close to her chest.
Static blinked his other eye and Magnetta snapped both her fingers as Richie and Allie threw another Zap Cap and Mag Tag at Hotstreak and Copy Cat. The Zap Cap landed behind Hotstreak while the Mag Tag landed behind Copy Cat as they both turned around to look at the two explosions.
"Here's what a twitch of my nose will do." Virgil said with a smile and his hands on his hips.
"And here's what I can do by raising my eyebrows." Ruby said as Virgil twitched his nose while Ruby raised her eyebrows.
However, Richie and Allie were searching through their bags for more Zap Caps and Mag Tags.
"A twitch of my nose!" Static yelled as Richie and Allie flipped their bags upside down and saw that they ran out of Zap Caps and Mag Tags.
'Allie, what's going on?' Magnetta asked telepathically.
'We're all out of Zap Caps and Mag Tags.' Allie said telepathically.
Richie and Allie looked back at the scene with their teeth clenched and their hands on their teeth in fear.
Virgil kept twitching his nose until he realized what was going on while Magnetta lowered her eyebrows and frowned after Allie told her that they were all out of Zap Caps and Mag Tags.
"Uh, must be my allergies." Static lied with a scared smile.
"Uh-uh, you're both out of gas." Copy Cat said as she pointed her finger at Static and Magnetta.
"But we're not." Hotstreak said with a smirk as he and Copy Cat held out their hands and surrounded them in fireballs.
Hotstreak and Copy Cat threw a fireball at Static and Magnetta as the two Bang Baby heroes ran away, making the two fireballs land on the spot they were standing on. The two fireballs created some fire streams on the road as Hotstreak and Copy Cat ran after Static and Magnetta with their hands surrounded in fireballs and purple gas coming out of Hotstreak's body. Static and Magnetta were running through the street with Hotstreak and Copy Cat running after them as they both held out one hand that was surrounded in a fireball. Hotstreak and Copy Cat tried to throw their fireballs at Static and Magnetta but missed. Richie and Allie watched Hotstreak and Copy Cat running through the street with angry expressions as they held out their hands on each side with their hands surrounded in fireballs before Richie and Allie ran through the sidewalk to follow the two Bang Baby villains. Two fireballs landed in front of a fire hydrant as Static and Magnetta slid to a stop when two fireballs landed in front of them before they turned left and ran away with multiple fireballs fired at them and women screaming. Static and Magnetta ran toward an alleyway on their left as two fireballs landed on the spot where they turned left. Hotstreak and Copy Cat turned left and ran toward the alleyway as they each threw a fireball at Static and Magnetta. Two fireballs flew out of the alleyway as Static and Magnetta ran out of the alleyway, turned right, ran past the Mic's Video Building, and turned right where they ran to the alleyway in between the Mic's Video building and the Coffee Shop. Hotstreak and Copy Cat ran out of the alleyway and ran past the alleyway where Static and Magnetta were in as they were leaning next to the wall while watching Hotstreak and Copy Cat running past them.
"V. R." Richie said as Static and Magnetta turned their heads back and looked up to see Richie and Allie standing on the fire escape with Richie standing in front of the ladder.
"Come on." Richie said as he dropped the ladder with Static and Magnetta running toward the ladder.
"You thought of a new plan yet?" Richie asked as Static and Magnetta climbed up the ladder.
"This is it." Static answered as he and Magnetta hopped off the ladder and onto the fire escape.
"Run as fast as we can." Static said in fear as he looked back before he walked away while pushing Richie by his back.
"I like that plan." Allie said in fear as she and Magnetta followed Static and Richie.
Static, Magnetta, Richie, and Allie ran up the fire escape as Hotstreak and Copy Cat were in the alleyway looking around with their fists close to their chests and their fists surrounded in fireballs. Richie and Allie ticked their heads out before climbing up to the roof of the building along with Static and Magnetta as the two Bang Baby heroes walked toward a large fan with their backs facing it while Richie and Allie walked away. Static and Magnetta backed up toward the fan and turned around to look at the fan.
"Whoa!" Static yelled as the fan blew Static's goggles off his head.
Static's goggles flew away from the roof and fell down on the ground as Hostreak and Copy Cat walked toward the goggles before they stopped and stood in front of the goggles. Hotstreak and Copy Cat looked at the goggles with stern expressions as Hotstreak's eyes stopped glowing white and had his hands closed into fists before they looked up to see Richie and Allie looking at them from the roof. Richie and Allie turned around and walked away as Hotstreak and Copy Cat looked at the roof with Hostreak's eyes glowing white while Copy Cat smirked.
'Found you.' Copy Cat thought.
"Oh no. We gotta get out of here." Richie said in fear as he and Allie backed away before they stopped and turned around to see Static and Magnetta looking at the fan with Static having his hand on his hip and his other hand on his chin.
"I got an idea." Static said with a smirk.
"No! No more ideas, please!" Allie panicked as she held her hands close to her chest and waved them side-to-side.
"The fan, Al. Maybe I can use my body as a conductor for the electricity." Static said as Allie lowered her hands with her and Richie looking at them with scared expressions and their teeth clenched.
"And if I'm right, it could also work on me too since magnets can conduct electricity." Magnetta explained as she kept looking at the fan.
"Guys, you don't know how much those sunspots have changed you." Richie said in fear as he looked back while Static and Magnetta looked up.
"All that electricity and magnetism might hurt you two or even kill you." Richie explained in fear as he and Allie looked at Static and Magnetta.
"I know, Richie. But it's the only way to stop Hotstreak and Copy Cat from destroying Dakota." Magnetta said as she and Static turned around to look at Richie and Allie.
Suddenly, two fire explosions appeared as Static, Magnetta, Richie, and Allie turned around to look at the fire explosions.
"Let's go!" Richie yelled as he looked at Static.
"You guys go." Static said as he pointed his finger at the fan and pushed Richie's back.
"Be careful, Ruby." Allie said as she looked at Magnetta.
"Don't worry, I will." Magnetta said as she looked at Allie.
Richie and Allie ran toward a large cube and hid behind it as Static and Magnetta turned around with stern expressions on their faces as they saw Hotstreak and Copy Cat flying up to the roof. While Hotstreak was surrounded by a fire aura and had fire blasts coming out of his fists like a rocket, Copy Cat's lower body was surrounded by a purple tornado.
"So, this is how it ends." Hotstreak said as his fire aura disappeared before he and Copy Cat landed in front of Static and Magnetta with the purple tornado surrounding Copy Cat's lower body disappearing.
"I'm giving you one last chance, Francis." Static said sternly as Hotstreak's fists were surrounded in fireballs.
"Me too, Kathryn." Magnetta said sternly as she looked at Copy Cat.
"Turn yourselves over to the police and no one gets hurt." Magnetta said.
"You two are giving us a chance?" Hotstreak asked with a smirk, his eyes glowing white, and two streams of purple gas coming out of his body.
Hotstreak and Copy Cat closed their eyes and laughed while looking up before they stopped.
"I take it that's a no." Static guessed as he and Magnetta glared at their childhood bullies.
"Wrong! This is a no!" Copy Cat yelled as one of the fireballs in Hotstreak's fist disappeared before he turned the fireball in his other fist into a sword made of fire.
Copy Cat also used Hotstreak's fire powers to create a sword made out of fire as they grabbed their swords with both hands and held them in front of Static and Magnetta. Static and Magnetta held out one of their hands at the fan as Static's hand was surrounded in a purple electric aura while Magnetta's hand was surrounded in a white magnetic aura before the fan was surrounded in both a purple electric and white magnetic aura with four purple electric bolts coming out of Static's hand and went around the fan while Static's body was surrounded in a purple electric aura and Magnetta's body was surrounded in a white magnetic aura. Static and Magnetta held out their hands as Hotstreak and Copy Cat closed their eyes, clenched their teeth, and held their fire swords up in the air. Static and Magnetta looked at them with stern expressions before they moved their eyes to look at a nearby water tower as they held out one of their hands and fired a purple electric bolt and a white magnetic ray at the water tower. The purple electric bolt and white magnetic ray broke a hole in the water tower, causing water to spill. Hotstreak and Copy Cat opened their eyes and turned around with their jaws dropped as they took one of their hands out of their fire swords and looked up to see the water coming toward them. The water splashed on Hotstreak and Copy Cat, making them cough as they were pushed toward the edge of the roof before the water stopped. Hotstreak and Copy Cat were lying unconscious on the wet floor with water everywhere.
"Yeah!" Static cheered as he and Magnetta walked toward Hotstreak and Copy Cat.
"I wonder if they have anger management summer school." Static wondered as he and Magnetta stopped to look at Hotstreak and Copy Cat.
Richie and Allie walked toward Static and Magnetta as they stopped and stood next to Static and Magnetta with smiles on their faces. Static and Magnetta looked at Richie and Allie as they looked at each other with smiles on their faces.
The next day after defeating Hotstreak and Copy Cat and taking them to jail, Static and Magnetta were flying high in the sky through the city as the sunspot cycle was over and they now had their powers back.
"Woohoo!" Static cheered as he did a loop-de-loop.
Magnetta flew past a building with lots of windows as she looked at her reflection with a smile on her face.
"Ha ha!" Magnetta cheered as she closed her eyes and held her arms out on each side before she opened her eyes and flew away from the building.
"Whoo!" Magnetta cheered as she and Static twirled in the air.
"Yeah!" Static cheered as he and Magnetta flew higher in the air before he flew in a circle while laughing.
Static and Magnetta took out their Shock Vox and Solar Poles to tell Richie and Allie.
"Rich, I'm in full power again. The sunspots are gone." Static said in his Shock Vox with an excited tone.
"My powers are back too, Allie." Magnetta said in her Solar Pole with an excited tone.
"That's great, Ruby. Must feel nice to have your powers back." Allie said in her Solar Pole as she sat on her bed.
'It sure is.' Magnetta said through Allie's Solar Pole.
"So, everything's back to normal?" Richie asked in his Shock Vox as he was sitting on his chair that was close to his desk.
'Normal for me, anyway.' Static said through Richie's Shock Vox.
"You guys gonna miss having all that time to yourself?" Richie asked in his Shock Vox.
"Yeah, but you know what I'd miss more? Not being able to help people and taking down bad guys to prevent them from hurting innocent civilians." Magnetta said in her Solar Pole with a frown.
"And not being able to do this." Static said in his Shock Vox with a smile.
"Ye-oow! Aha!" Static yelled as he did another loop-de-loop and flew higher in the air.
"Woohoo!" Magnetta cheered as she did a loop-de-loop and followed Static up in the air.
"I definitely missed my magnetokinetic flight." Magnetta said with a smile as she and Static put their Shock Vox and Solar Poles away.
"Static and Magnetta are back in the house, the sunspots are history, and..." Static said with a smile as he held out his hands on each side and flew higher with Magnetta following him until he remembered something after he mentioned the word 'history.'
"History?" Static asked in fear as he looked at the audience with his face covering the entire screen.
"Uh oh." Magnetta said in fear as she realized that they had forgotten to meet Daisy at the school to study for their history class.
Daisy was at Dakota Union High, sitting outside on a bench close to a table as she was waiting for Virgil and Ruby with her hand on her chin. However, she had an angry expression on her face as she was getting impatient after waiting for hours.
"Girl, you must be out of your mind! What could have possibly made you think he changed?" Daisy said to herself angrily as she took her hand off her chin before she clenched her hand into a fist, laid her fist on her cheek, and looked away.
"Daisy!" Ruby yelled from the distance as Daisy put her fist off her cheek and turned to the right to see Virgil and Ruby running toward her.
"Virgil, you made it!" Daisy said with a smile as Virgil and Ruby stopped and stood in front of her.
"For a second, I thought you forgot again." Daisy said as Virgil and Ruby sat next to Daisy with Virgil sitting next to Daisy's left while Ruby sat next to Daisy's right.
"Yeah, I just remembered right at the last second. I'm really sorry to keep you waiting." Virgil said.
"Don't worry, I'll let it slide this time." Daisy said as she grabbed one of her books and opened it.
"Thanks. So, where were we?" Virgil said.
"We were at the return to normalcy in World War I." Ruby said as she pointed her finger at Daisy's book.
"Right, let's get started." Virgil said as he, Ruby, and Daisy started to work on their history.
Virgil was happy that he was able to save himself from making Daisy mad at him and Ruby was happy that Virgil and Daisy's relationship was saved as she could tell that Virgil is in love with Daisy. And she wouldn't let anything ruin their romance for each other.
You know, at first, I thought magnetism wasn't affected by Sunspots after trying to look up if they do, but I couldn't find anything that said it was true. When I told my friend, Imaginestarsines about not having Magnetta's powers affected by sunspots, she said that I should add that Magnetta's powers will become stronger in Sunspots like Static since apparently, Richie said that sunspots can affect electricity and magnetism. I can't believe I missed that. I feel stupid for missing that part. I'm glad that rewatching this episode made me realize that sunspots can affect magnetism. Also, today is my first day of school as this is my second year in College. I'll try to work on my Magnetic Shock Season 2 episodes as fast as I can. It may take a while since I'll have to mostly focus on my schoolwork, but I'll do my best. Anyway, Please Review.
