I was sitting at the bar relaxing after I got back from a job when I heard an interesting discussion. A blond dressed in white and blue on the other side of the bar was talking to Cana, "Luke uses summoning magic too." "Do you mean The Legion? Is he here, I heard he takes back to back S-class quests." She looked like she would have a panic attack at the mere thought. Cana meanwhile looked around until she caught my eye she waved me over, "Luke, when did you get back in town? Anyway, come over here I want to introduce you to Lucy."

I walked over and grabbed a seat on the other side of Cana, Lucy looked like she might faint if I was any closer and Cana was trying not to laugh. I gave her a smile to try and calm her down, though it only seemed to make things worse. "Relax Luce, I'm not going to hurt you. If you ever want to hear what actually happened instead of the fiction the council made up, let me know." She seemed to relax for a little but still looked like I was going to suddenly leap up and eat her whole.

I smiled and slowly raised my hand, a small red magic circle appeared floating in my palm. A little ball of fluff with white angel wings formed out of glowing light. "Kuriboh!" Lucy's eyes lit up and she grabbed Kuriboh in a big hug, Canna laughed, "I swear you got that guy just to counter your reputation as the Legion." I gave her a smirk, "Oh believe me, this guy can hold his own in my legion." Cana looked back at the little ball of fluff that was cuddling in a giggling Lucy, she looked back at me with a disbelieving expression. I just laughed and didn't explain, instead I waved Mira down, "Can I get some lunch?" I could feel the glare from Cana in the back of my head so I turned back around.

"Alright, let's get it out." I said with a resigned sigh. Cana seemed to be vibrating in anticipation, "So last time you told me about the tribe of amazons you broke bread with to gain their trust. And I know about the battle you had to subdue the monarch tribe. But what did you need to do to gain the allegiance of that little cutie?" I laughed at her question as I knew she would be disappointed with the answer. "Sorry to disappoint but all I needed to do was have a conversation with their elders. Not very exciting." She visibly deflated at that and before she could ask something else Mira dropped off my drink and I took a sip and thanked her.

She nodded and went back to the kitchen to get my meal, in the meantime Lucy had finally calmed down from her cuteness overload. She let Kuriboh go and turned back to me, "How did you do that? I didn't see you use any sort of key." I laughed, "No Lucy, I don't use celestial spirit magic so I didn't need a key." She looked confused for a moment before visibly thinking through her next question, "Then how could you summon that creature?" I gave her a little glare and she paled, "Just as you treat your spirits with respect, I ask you to do the same for mine."

She straightened and nodded. I stared for a moment before seeing the steel behind her eyes and explaining, "I have spent a lot of time exploring the different realms that are beyond normal sight, unfortunately a person can only form contracts with one realm." Lucy looked enraptured with my explanation, completely forgetting the fear she felt before. "The shadow realm is filled with the manifestation of dreams and nightmares of people. The Untamed Wilds are filled with animals that spent their whole lives fighting, truly a place that embodies survival of the fittest. The Realm of Nightmares is filled with creatures of pure emotions, as any emotion taken to its extreme is terrifying. The celestial realm is the only realm that has holder items that are used as focuses."

I continued to explain the basics of each realm I had been to, and only stopped when Mira delivered my meal. "It was nice to talk to you Lucy but I need to eat." With my statement my stomach let out a growl as if agreeing with my statement, she laughed and we bid each other good-bye. I ate my meal and continued to hang out with my guildmates. After I finished eating I told a few more of my stories until I noticed the master arguing with Laxus. I excused myself and walked over, "Giving the master trouble again Laxus?" He gave me a glare and stomped up to me, "Stay out of this coward." I smiled and that only seemed to piss him off more, lightning started to crackle around his fists.

Two magic circles ten times the size of the one I used to summon Kuriboh appeared behind me. When Laxus saw the large circles he paled, "ENOUGH YOU TWO." The master shouted while jumping up to give both of us a chop on the head. We both backed down but as Laxus stalked past me he made sure to bump me with his shoulder on the way. I gave the master a look and he sighed, "Not right now, I have a more important task for you." I slouched, "Aw come on master I supposed to be on vacation."

I got another chop on the head for that one, but I reluctantly did what I was told and made my way out of town. Once I reached the forest a red magic circle appeared in front of me, "SCREECH". I summoned Fenghuang, a bird-like creature large enough to ride on, I called aboard and it took off towards the coast. After about an hour of flying I reached the coast and I touched down and walked into town. After collecting some information at the docks I knew where to go. The towns folk have been having problems with a sea serpent nearby, and they had posted a job to drive it away.

After that I went to the beach and summoned another of my friends, a large magic circle lit up on the water and a blue sea serpent appeared. "ROOOAAARRR" I covered my ears as Daedalus roared in challenge to all that could hear. "Ah, relax you big baby, we should get to fight later, but right now I just need a ride." The serpent bowed down so I could climb onto his back before speeding into the horizon. I relaxed as we traveled and after the sun had set the reef came into sight, and I prepared another summon circle. I had faith in Daedalus winning any fight, but I might need to get out of the way fast. Right before we entered the reef the water started to seeth, a monster only a little smaller than Daedalus rose out of the water.

I summoned my Fenghuang again, and moved out of the way while the two serpents roared at each other. Each tried to show dominance before they started to fight. Each time I see one of my summons fight I am reminded just how powerful someone can become. Clouds covered the sky and the ocean churned with waves reaching into the sky. But every movement was canceled out by the opposing fighter and the destruction never moved out of their range. The fight went back and forth for a while, battling with elements as well as their bodies. When the two giants collided my ears rattled with the force, but even so I made sure to stay close enough to help if needed. I knew that Daedalus would not like that, but as I told every one of my summons, I would rather I never be able to summon you again than for them to die.

I dragged myself out of my day dreams and saw that the fight was over. By now Gyarados had beat the sea serpent into submission so I flew over and used another spell I was known for. A Blue circle lit up and I spoke the ritual, "Defeated creature, I offer you a deal. In exchange for becoming my summon I will send you to a place for you to live and grow without interference from humans." My voice echoed as I made my proposal and the sea serpent below me considered my offer before bowing its head. It glowed and a second green circle appeared beneath it before it dissolved into motes of light.

Daedalus roared in triumph before disappearing as well. I turned and flew back the way I came, stopping by the town to collect the reward before heading straight back to the guild. I was ready to get back to my vacation, sadly it was not meant to be. The next morning when I walked into the guild the master ran up to me, I took one look at his face and turned right back out the doors. "WAIT!!" I stopped and sighed before looking at the sky, I'm never going to get that vacation am I. I turned back around, but when I saw his face I almost turned right back around. He waved his hands, "Wait, I'm willing to charge the swords of revealing light." I perked up at that, I had a lot of magic power for my age but a mage's magic grew as they aged.

I gave him a smile and he shuddered, "Alright, if you are willing to offer going through that again it must be important." A few years ago I devised a spell that would help with capturing powerful fiends into my Legion. The Sword of Revealing Light was a sealing spell specifically designed to counteract the corrupted influence of the fiends I brought into my legion. However as the strength of the fiend increased the more power needed to seal the fiend. Due to this only the master had enough magic to fully charge the spell, I rigged up a constant charge that always kept my magic at 90% but it would still need a full month to charge one sword.

The master straightened, "Luke, you are tasked with retrieving your fellow guild mates from a quest they are ill prepared for. Once you capture Natsu, Happy, and Lucy bring them back to face punishment for stealing an S-class quest. Gray followed last night and no word has been heard." I straight and nodded, giving the respect the situation deserved, "It will be done master." He sagged at my words before giving me a warm smile, "Please bring back your siblings safely my boy." I gave him a sarcastic salute and headed back out, no rest for the wicked I suppose. An hour later I was once again flying to the coast, heading to a different port than yesterday.

When I made it to town I spent the day looking around and trying to find how they made it to the island. It seemed like everyone knew where the island was but it was so cursed no one even wanted to talk about it in fear of the curse. Out of options I left to the beach so I could summon a ride. I hesitated to summon Daedalus as I was unsure if a fight would occur before I had to send him back. Some summons had conditions and Daedalus could only be summoned for battle. Making my decision I prepared my spell, "Summon: Kaiser Sea Snake" in the water the sea serpent I had defeated yesterday appeared in front of me. Due to the different flow of time in each realm he had already healed from his wounds.

When he saw me he lowered his upper body so I could climb on. Once I was ready he started to swim towards the island, to keep busy I communicated with my summon. Due to the properties of magic most animals that could use magic were smarter than their counterparts. So all of my summons were capable of simple communication. It only took about an hour to reach the island and in that time we hammered out our summoning conditions. I could summon him for battle of course, but surprisingly he asked to be summoned to go for swims like this. Apparently he was quite used to the constant battles of the realm and needed some breaks.

After I stepped onto the beach I dismissed my summon and started to walk towards the only village on the island. It only took me a few minutes to make the journey to stand in front of the wooden gate, "Hello, I'm Luke a mage from Fairy Tail and I am here looking for a few of my fellow guildmates." As I talked I could hear Natsu whispering, "Oh my god, master sent him, What do we do?" Happy responded only a little quieter than Natsu's dull roar, "We're gonna die!" I stood outside waiting to see what they would do, but it seems they were too scared so I decided to help them decide, "The longer you pretend to not hear me the worse your punishment will be."

There were a few seconds of silence before the gate crashed open, breaking in half in their haste. I smirked at their panicked looks, both Happy and Natsu were pale and sweating while Lucy looked more afraid of their reactions than me. I walked in and looked them over, they looked like they had gone through a fight or two but they looked fine. "You know Natsu, if you wanted to take an S-class job you could have asked." His mouth dropped open and he lifted one finger, as if the idea never occurred to him. The good thing was that Lucy now looked more mad than scared as she stomped up behind him.

THUMP! She planted a fist on the back of Natsu's head and his face hit the ground. Happy giggle and went to say something but before he could he slammed into the ground as well. I looked on with a grin, hell hath no fury is right. After a few minutes Lucy's wrath had been calmed and Happy and Natsu nursed the newly formed lumps. I turned towards Lucy and gave her a smile, "After seeing that I am guessing that they did not tell you that an S-class Wizard can take non S-class wizards with them on S-class quests." She released a harsh sign and crossed her arms, "The opposite actually, they made it seem like this would be the only way we could prove ourselves."

I gave Natsu an unimpressed look before rolling my eyes, "Since we are already here and you accepted the job we might as well complete it. Can't damage Fairy Tail's reputation after all. But Natsu and Happy, you will be punished by the Master when we get back and he might even do THAT." They all looked happy as I spoke but the boys both paled when they heard they were going to be punished. I entered the gate and looked around the village, I found Gray sleeping in one of the huts and looked pretty beat up so I left him to his dreams.

The village itself was very interesting, while it was not very advanced it was unlike most human villages i have seen. The houses were covered in talismans and carvings of different magical beasts, showing a rich culture. The people looked downtrodden, but something about them was hidden. It reminded me of some of the villages I had come across in the realms. I kept what I found to myself for now as I was unsure how they would react to my knowledge. After I finished looking around I focused my magical senses on the villagers. I knew immediately something was wrong as their magic was fighting against itself.

When I tried to sense what was wrong my magic failed to pierce through. A magical fog covered all the villagers, making them shift in my senses. One moment they were inhuman the next they were human like and the next they were something in between. As I studied them I noticed the way the shifts between natures were unique. I turned to the rest of the group, "This is going to take longer than I thought, why don't you guys rest inside with Gray while I figure this out." Natsu and Happy signed and then jumped up, eager to explore the village. Lucy was more hesitant so I gave her a reassuring smile before turning back around.

I spent the rest of the night studying the villagers, the cause of their mutation was not hard to find but the applications were very interesting. I wanted to take the next step with my magic and this would help empower my monster beyond their base form. The villagers had the ability to shift between forms without any permanent blending. Once I explained what I found to the chief he volunteered to find out what his original form was. I took out an artifact I had found in some ruins I explored a couple years ago, Angelica's Angelic Ring. It was a ring used by a queen who used it to survive countless attempts on her life by a dark wizard.

I focused and forced the shifting magic to its original state, the chief started to tremble before he shifted completely into a demon. I smiled as the villagers were stunned into silence, even the chief was quiet as the magic I used did not affect their memory. Before they could begin to freak out I spoke up. "Do not panic, this is his true form, however the magic affecting you has also affected your mind and my spell does not involve the mind. Now that I know what we were before the spell I can work on removing its effects completely."

The villagers cheered and I smiled as I observed the moon. I had no idea I would find the next step of my magic here of all places. I retired for the night and dreamed of all the things I could do with my magic now that I could empower my summons and someday maybe even fuse them. This would take time but I was excited to see the heights I would be able to take my magic.
