Stupid fake goblins, stupid orb…

Ghost Spider was mentally grumbling with some more than mild curses. She was on some ship, searching for someone she just met.

Why am I even looking for Ami? Shouldn't I be looking for a way out instead? I don't even know that fox chick!

She was surprised at how advanced this pirate ship was, and the design made it seem like she was in a futuristic version of Neverland or other Disney movies with pirates. She crawled through chutes and camouflaged when she heard people entering a secluded area of the engine room. She wasn't nosy, and she was already on a rescue mission. 'Oh, what the hell?' she can't let her knowledge of detective work go to waste. Besides, she just snuck into a pirate ship infested with heroes under mind control, by a fricking witch using them to carry out a crazy plan. So everyone on the ship is going to be an obstacle, might as well know all the possible threats. Crawling to a pole, she listened in on their telepathic communication.

(Must keep the ship from crashing)

(Mistress Harkness must bring hell to us)

'I already knew this witch was evil but I didn't think she was this insane! I'm no wielder of magic but even I know that's impossible! On my dimension anyway…'

Ghost Spider recognized the two enslaved heroes as Cyclops and Venom. 'Why is Venom with laser dude? I thought he counted as a symbiote's well-known Kryptonite'.

Blue: Not much use staying in this area, we don't have time for any fights right now.

Pink: Let's focus on Ami.

As the female spider silently crawled to other areas, she almost lost her grip when the ship started rocking. 'I almost forgot that I'm in a ship circling the Bermuda Triangle'.

Screen room (Beginning of this story)

Unmasked, bruised and barely starting the self-healing, Gwen tried standing up to call her opponent-turned-acquaintance.

"I'm sorry Gwen". Ami whispered, but unexpectedly before walking to the orb, she ran back to her and pressed her lips against hers. Taken back by this (her mask off during this wasn't helping) and wondering if she should come up with a friendzone rejection, she hummed.

Then when Ami's lips departed, she gave a soft smile at Gwen before she felt like she was dying. This felt like she was being choked, and a bead just came out of her mouth. The last thing she heard was:

"Find me when you have it back".

Ghost Spider successfully surpassed most of the hypnotized heroes until she found what she came for.

'Good! I finally found her. Now—wait…I'm just realizing an obvious problem'.

Pink: That you haven't thought about how to break the mind control?

Blue: And even if you did, you needed to know how to get back to New York?

'Well, I guess I can find a way…'

She webbed the Kumiho into a cocoon hanging upside down. She then hung upside down to face her. "Hey, I'm here to rescue you".

Ami started making muffled sounds (Gwen made sure to keep her mouth shut). "I know you're under some spell from an orb, but please break out of it".

This seemed pointless as Ami just snarled with purple eyes. Gwen just sighed. Then excessive noises and the sound of other inhabitants ran in the direction of the surface deck. Someone was attacking the ship, and it was hard to tell if it was a good or bad sign. Then she heard vaguely familiar voices of Jessica Jones, Captain Marvel, Scarlett Witch, and…Peter. That should be a good sign as they were here to rescue the mind-controlled vigilantes. She looked back at the Kumiho who was still tied up.

"Don't worry little Vixen, the Avengers are here, though I'm more glad a good witch is here".

A loud crash was heard and then the ship floor started leaking. 'That's not a good sign'.

Ami's eyes shifted to her usual doe eyes. She groaned. "What…were…Gwen?"

Ghost Spider sighed in relief. "Thank webs you're out of that trance. I'm gonna take you with the Avengers". After untying the fox, they went to the top deck to join the other heroes. Unfortunately…no one but girls were on the ship. "ARE YOU F* kidding me?! They ditched us!"

"Gwen! You didn't come with the Avengers! You came on your own?"

"How was I supposed to contact anyone? I was trapped in the web knows where! Wait…there's one other option". Ghost Spider pulled a bracelet out of her suit glove, pricked her finger, and opened a portal. "Do you trust me?"

"What—Gwen I don't know you". Ami deadpanned.

"I know how to get you back home. Unless you prefer to drown near the fricking Bermuda Triangle".

Sighing in defeat with the fact that she had no choice but to trust Gwen, she looked at her with silent agreement to the spider's offer. A pink portal formed and they walked into it.
