Chapter 37 (Finale): Battle of Argus' Pyramid Part 3
Flashback
The sands of time are flowing around in circles everywhere. But where exactly? And why? As the sands start to disappear, we see many people standing in place motionlessly, all except for Fire God Liu Kang, who is still waving his hands in place and his powers glowing. After he stops chanting and his powers deactivate, all of his friends as well as his wife gasp for air. Kitana, Jade, Alex, Cassie, Jacqui, Takeda, Kung Jin, Fujin, Baraka, Sheeva, Erron Black, Frost, Cyrax, Smoke, Jerrod and Sindel have been unfrozen.
"Ugh… w-what? What the hell just happened?" Jacqui looks around.
"Weren't we just at the alley about to get blown up?" Kung Jin asked.
"Correction. You were. I brought you all here." Liu Kang steps aside. This place is very familiar. To him, Alex and Cassie.
"Holy shit. The Keep." Cassie realizes. She remembers the place when she was taken prisoner by Geras and witnessed his death.
"So this was where Kronika started the whole thing. And there's the hourglass and Alex's torches." Jacqui realizes as well. This causes Alex to turn to Liu Kang.
"Thanks, Liu Kang. But why did you bring us here?" Alex asked.
"I had a vision from the hourglass and I told this to the Elder Gods. They granted me permission to use my time powers to stop time temporarily and rescue you all. Had I not done so, we would all be destroyed. And there would be no way of stopping Shao Kahn from unleashing Armageddon." Liu Kang explains.
"We must help the others. We can't just stand here." Jade said.
"We will. But not yet. I have looked into the future and saw many outcomes. I saw hundreds of different outcomes in the aftermath of the battle that will come." Liu Kang said.
"And how many do we win?" Kitana asked. Liu Kang was silent for a few moments before he finally answered.
"One." Liu Kang answered.
"One? That's it? That means the odds are stacked against us. Meia and the others. As well as Taven. They cannot fight those bastards alone." Jerrod protests.
"Unless he has a very specific plan in mind." Frost corrects him.
"Precisely. As I said before, and according to Raiden, we all died in Armageddon in the old timeline. All except for Shao Kahn. Except for those I previously mentioned have never existed before. Because of them we all have families." Liu Kang said.
"That's why you wanted me to take all of our people to safety. And why you asked Chang Bao and the others to take the Kamidogu daggers instead of us. Because you knew they would do it." Kitana realizes, seeing Liu Kang's confidence in them.
Before Alex could say anything, he suddenly gasps and his eyes turn white like his mother. Cassie and Jade immediately run to check on him.
"Alex? What is wrong? Speak to me." Jade said.
Alex doesn't say anything for half a minute before he gasps for air and falls to his knees.
"Alex! What happened?" Cassie worries.
"Flora. Flora, she… she was dying." Alex said while catching his breath.
"Dying? Is she okay? Is she hurt?" Cassie asked.
"No. I felt it in my heart and in my head. I think it's happened again. Her powers have just got a boost." Alex corrects her.
"How do you know this?" Kitana asks Alex.
"Ever since the day Anthony and Flora fought each other, I felt some weird sensation in my head. Like I had back whenever my powers upgraded. It makes sense now. I saw her fourth torch light up." Alex said.
"Just like what happened to you in Outworld." Liu Kang said.
"Yeah. The same thing happened to me. I was dying when Skarlet stabbed me in multiple places and took most of my blood. But when I thought I was going to die, my powers kicked in and I healed up." Alex said.
"You're saying you and your daughter are connected to each other somehow. Your bond with her must be sacred. Because you are both half Elder Gods." Sindel began to realize.
"That must be the reason why I could sense her powers getting stronger. But what can we do now? They can't fight them alone." Alex said.
"You're right, Alex. Meia will lead them to the pyramid. Taven will be there." Liu Kang said.
"What do you suggest we do?" Takeda asked.
"Blaze must awaken. But Shao Kahn will not have it. I have foreseen it. Only the one whose soul is worthy to wield his power. For now, I must return you all back to the precise locations you left. Shao Kahn thinks we are dead, so we will use that to our advantage. For we have the element of surprise." Liu Kang said. He activates his powers and lightning strikes down on everyone, sending them all back to the Fire Village, Lin Kuei Temple, Edenia, the Special Forces base and Outworld. What is Liu Kang's plan?
Present Day
The fights continue to spill more blood, broken bones and organs. But this does not faze Shao Kahn, Mavado or Havik. They await at the top of the pyramid for their most hated enemies.
"Shao Kahn. Your reign of tyranny ends here! And it ends now!" Liu Kang said.
"Bah! I don't fear you, Fire God!" Shao Kahn replied.
"And this is coming from the guy who decided to try to bomb us rather than face us yourself. Like it or not, it's game over for you, asshole." Alex said.
"You may have been a worthy foe to face, Alex Cage. But it will not matter. While you were all distracted, my new sorcerer has been preparing a spell for me. I will have him transfer Blaze's power to me so I don't need to face him. And my venom will spread. It will be the end of all things again." Shao Kahn said, looking up at the sky.
"Havik once mentioned that this has happened before. How is it that you know about Armageddon happening before?" Fujin asked.
"It is simple, Fujin. Because Kronika and Cetrion told me everything about my original fate in the Old Era when she merged time." Shao Kahn said.
"That was before Raiden changed history and killed you with the Elder Gods' power! Because your own ego got the best of you like any other dumb bitch has!" Cassie points her weapons.
"A mistake that I will not repeat today." Shao Kahn said. "You see, in the Old Era after Shinnok was defeated, Shang Tsung and Quan Chi forged an alliance to kill me. While they succeeded in killing Liu Kang, they only killed a mere clone of me. And they destroyed most of the other heroes except Raiden. That was until my former master Onaga was resurrected. The three failed to kill him and he seeked out the Kamidogu to bring back the One Being. But his plans went on hiatus when Blaze was prophesied to reawaken. And with him, Taven and Daegon. One of them was meant to absorb his power. But I killed Taven and then slaughtered Blaze and took his power for myself. The only one that stood against me was Raiden. He was no match. I executed him, but I was too late to realize that he sent a message to his past self. And he thwarted me."
"I have been aware of your plans, Shao Kahn. It will not come to pass. Armageddon will not happen. We may have died before. But my visions have guided them. That is how they survived. We always have a backup plan." Liu Kang tells him. That was when he started getting the idea.
"Now I see. You allowed your children to carry the Kamidogu for you. You knew they would succeed in bringing them here. And them fighting me was only a distraction. And you allowed me to kill Daegon when I knew he planned to commit treason. And you allowed me to awaken Blaze. That is when you knew when to come in and face us." Shao Kahn sees now.
"You have always underestimated us, Shao Kahn. That has always been your mistake. From the past and up to today. We have beaten you before, killed you before, betrayed you many times. And yet you finally learn." Kitana glares at him.
"Are you so arrogant to believe that all life throughout the realms are nothing but your playthings? You killed innocents, including my parents, enslaved a lot of races and poisoned their heads to joining your side for your own amusement?" Meia points her staff at him.
"Playthings? Amusement? You make me laugh child! I do these actions with no regret! I lead them the right way! To extend empires! To do what Onaga failed to!" Shao Kahn said.
"How do you think I treat my own people? They live the exact opposite of you all. They live in chaos, disaster, torment, torture, and they love it. They loathe peace and harmony. They prefer violence, hate, torture, and insults." Havik explained. "Shao Kahn promised more for me and my people. With all the power belonging to him, it will last for an eternity."
"So this is the true arrogance of a chaos cleric." Hotaru steps up. "You have feigned great power and experience with chaos, I was told about your downfall because of your shortsightedness. You threw me off balance before, and it is a mistake that I will not repeat here." Hotaru said. Havik laughs at his threats.
"No matter what words you say to us, they will not matter. Despite your strengths and killing everyone I had, including my own daughter Mileena, that will be your last mistake for crossing me. Perhaps I should thank you, for delivering the daggers to me. Now with Taven and Daegon dead, I will finally achieve my lifelong dream. With the power of Blaze and the One Being combined, I will merge all realms together and recreate all of reality in my image and bring back everything I lost!" Shao Kahn said with his hammer out. More undead and chaosrealmers are brought forth.
"We will not allow this to pass again! We will stop you here and now!" Liu Kang lights up. The heroes nod to each other and know what to do. Everyone backs down from the pyramid, bringing the armies with them. The only ones that stay behind are Alex, Liu Kang, Hotaru, Fujin, Chang Bao and Flora. Flora and Chang Bao go to fight Mavado.
"Children. I hated children the most. I will make you drop tears of blood when Shao Kahn destroys every last thing that you have ever loved." Mavado said. His hands glow purple as he fights them two on one.
Flora absorbed more than enough elements from her father Alex to help her and has been saving them. She starts by shooting some fire at Mavado, who dodges them and shoots magic at Flora who also dodges. Chang Bao on the other hand jumps over it, eagle kicks Mavado in the head, knees his chin and throws him down with the wind before kicking him to Flora. Flora does three fiery punches to the face before kicking him in the chest. She grabs his shoulders and throws him down before she kicks him in the forehead, cracking it as he stumbles. Chang Bao swings her odachi, but he stops it with his magic much to her surprise and disarms her. He punches Chang Bao in the chest, across the face and knees her in the chin and stumbles. Mavado tries to attack more, but Chang Bao blocks with her fiery hands, twists his arms and burns his hands before kicking him away from her with the wind. Flora uses some water powers to trap his hands and lock them, allowing Chang Bao to throw rapid punches to his chest before kicking him away in the right rib cage, cracking it a little. Mavado is sent backwards.
Mavado growls and powers up more. He smirks, ready for the challenge. Chang Bao flies to attack, but he grabs her with her magic, throws her down, and starts to crush her. That was until he was hit by Flora's lightning, forcing him to release her. He sets his eyes on Flora. She runs towards him and pushes him down with the wind, hurting Mavado a little. But he quickly gets back up and sees her about to attack. Flora jumps to attack, but he suddenly blasts her back with a huge magic blast. Flora gets back up and gestures to her hurt shoulder. Chang Bao steps in the way to protect her friend. Chang Bao shoots two fireballs from her odachi, but Mavado counters them with his magic, which overpowers them and knocks Chang Bao back towards Flora.
"You're finished, child. Soon, your family will be with you. And since you're so special to your father, you will be the first to die." Mavado fires a magical beam at Flora. She counters with her energy beam. They collide with each other and neither are moving. They are giving it all they got, but Mavado's magical beam is slowly starting to overpower her energy beam. Mavado smirks on the verge of victory as Flora is down to a knee. She tries not to give up and she closes her eyes, awaiting her fate. She thinks about those she loves most.
"I love you, Flora. I always will." Alex said.
"We're always here for you. No matter what." Cassie said.
"I love you, Flora. You'll always be the best sister." Anthony said.
"You are a very shy, yet brave young woman." Jade said.
"You're a good sister, cousin, and best friend." Vera said.
"You may both have potential. You carry the spirit and soul of a soldier. I know you will not let us down." Sonya said.
"The new kiddos are gonna bring the boom." Johnny said.
"No matter what, you two will be my friends. I know in my heart that we can get along with each other." Meia said.
"I am flattered, Flora. And you are lovely and kind. No wonder your parents loved you." Cyan tells her.
Flora opens her eyes and finally remembers what her job is. Her duty. Her friends and family. Everything. She has another vision. A fifth torch finally lights up and her powers start changing color once more from orange to yellow. Her eyes go through the same effect. Flora smirks and stands up and her energy beam starts getting more power. Mavado's smile disappears, confused about what is going on. He tries to push back, but she is overpowering him and when the energy beam reaches him, Mavado is knocked back by the blast, cracking his chest greatly, sending him into the air.
Chang Bao flies in the air with her wind powers and knees his back and triple kicks it and does an eagle kick, sending him down, and breaking his back and chest. Mavado is covered in blood as he is defeated.
"How about go to hell with your special fucking club of yours, bitch." Flora said. Chang Bao walks up to her.
"I was hoping you could pull it off. I knew you would." Chang Bao smiles at her.
"To be honest, I didn't think I would, but thank god I did." Flora replies before they move on.
Meanwhile, Hotaru and Fujin continue to fight Havik, and he is as strong as ever. "Ah, I love challenges. The more pain it brings and the more chaos I unleash. I defeated you before, Hotaru. I shall do it again."
"Not ever again, Chaos Cleric. You made this very personal when you invaded my home, harmed my people, imprisoned them and traumatized them. This will be for Orderrealm." Hotaru said as he and Fujin fight Havik.
Havik twists his body 180 degrees and fires a blast from his hands, but Fujin uses the wind to deflect it. Fujin and Havik clash with their respective weapons in hand. They collide until Fujin uses his wind powers to throw his mace out of his hands and it goes flying off the pyramid. The wind god then kicks his right leg and uses the wind to push him down. Havik pops his neck and sees that Hotaru has disappeared. Hotaru comes up behind him and punches his left rib cage, punches his left knee, and does two cartwheel kicks to the left shoulder and head, sending Havik back. Havik is able to get back up, but Hotaru swings his naginata diagonally across Havik's chest and swings it up his right shoulder, leaving big cuts. He then throws the blade down on his other shoulder, breaking it, slams the endpoint of it on his chest, nearly breaking it and slams the stick part on top of Havik's head, greatly cracking his skull. Hotaru finally takes his weapon and stabs Havik in the left shoulder and glares at him.
"You may be without mercy, but I do. But that does not mean there won't be justice. Run back to your realm and crawl home like a bug you are. Begone, you chaos bastard!" Hotaru said. He swings his weapon and throws Havik off the pyramid.
As Havik falls through a green portal back to his realm, he smiles, accepting the insult Hotaru actually threw at him. What Hotaru called him; he considers it to be the best thing he has ever been told. He falls through the portal and returns to Chaosrealm back to where he came.
Finally, at long last was Shao Kahn. He the only one left standing. He grows frustrated as he continues to face Liu Kang and Alex.
"You pathetic fools. I still do not fear you. You may have defeated my best allies, but I will still gain the upper hand. You will be the first ones to die, Liu Kang and Alex Cage." Shao Kahn states.
"Yeah, I don't think so. Give it your best shot, asshole." Alex challenges him.
"With pleasure!" Shao Kahn before they resume fighting.
Shao Kahn summons his wrath spear while Alex uses his Bo staff and powers while Liu Kang has his nunchucks. Shao Kahn thrusts his spear towards Alex, who swiftly dodged and slams his staff into Shao Kahn's left shoulder and on his head as Liu Kang slams his nunchucks on his chest, electrocuting Shao Kahn before uppercutting him and tripping him with his nunchucks. Shao Kahn swings his spear, forcing Liu Kang to back away. He throws his spear at the fire god, but he teleports behind Shao Kahn and kicks him in the back four times. Shao Kahn swings his hammer at the fire but he manages to dodge the swings and jumps over him. Alex comes in and throws energy-enhanced punches to the chest and right shoulder, before uppercutting his chest and does a strong backflip kick to the chest, stumbling Shao Kahn. Alex and Liu Kang use fire and lightning punches, stunning and sending Shao Kahn far.
"You're done for, Liu Kang. While you two were distracted, the spell is complete!" Shao Kahn exclaimed. He holds out his hand which glows green and suddenly, he is absorbing the fire of Blaze himself! He starts glowing orange like fire itself! He's becoming more powerful! Perhaps the most powerful being in the universe!
"No!" Alex yelled.
"Yes! Yes! The power of Blaze is finally MINE!" Shao Kahn yells. "You weak pathetic fools! Now nothing can stop me! Not even you two! I shall spread Armageddon forever!" Shao Kahn said. He holds out his hands and was about to use his newfound powers on Alex and Liu Kang. But then suddenly he was hit by a string attack. He looks back. That fire power came from Taven himself!
"You are the fool, Shao Kahn!" Taven is revealed to be alive. He too is also glowing like he is.
"What?! How?! How are you alive?! Daegon killed you!" Shao Kahn exclaimed.
"Thanks to a special friend of mine." Taven said, referring to Meia. "Blaze saw me as worthy. He allowed me to absorb the other 50% of his powers. You violate his will, Shao Kahn. You were supposed to take his power by Mortal Kombat, but you tried to steal it instead. Now that is your worst mistake yet. You want this power? Come and get it!"
"With pleasure, Taven! I will finish what Daegon started! We shall see who will be the rightful owner of Blaze!" Shao Kahn said.
"We gotta do something. We need to help him! Meia said.
"We cannot. Blaze's powers exceed even mine and Alex's. This is Taven's fight now. Only he can decide our fate and the fate of all the realms." Liu Kang said.
"I hope you are right about this, fire god." Flora said.
"I have to agree with her, Liu Kang. He must win, or else we are all doomed forever." Sindel said.
"Power comes with responsibility. As much as I hate to admit it, there's nothing we can do but watch." Cassie sighs in fear. All the heroes can do is stand there and watch. Only Taven can save the realms. This is the final battle. Taven vs Shao Kahn.
Taven charges at Shao Kahn, who swings his hammer fast, but Taven jumps and dive kicks him in the face. Taven does a punch to the face, a backhand strike to the chest, and punches his right shoulder followed by a fist slam onto it. He swings his upgraded drakesword at his chest, actually cutting it. Shao Kahn couldn't believe this. He was actually hurt despite having half the power of Blaze. Shao Kahn summons his wrath spear and fights blade to blade. They were switching between offense and defense within a blink of an eye. That was until Taven overpowers him and stabs his left shoulder, backflip kicks him in the chin, and follows up with strong backhand strikes and two back kicks to the left rib cage and left shoulder, making Shao Kahn slide farther than normal.
Shao Kahn growls at this annoyance. He throws his hammer backwards and teleports behind Taven, who is hit in the back by the hammer and sent towards Shao Kahn. He grabs Taven by the throat, headbutts him, cracking his skull greatly. He punches his chest, making it crack greatly, before sending him back. Taven manages to get back up. His fist is covered in flames as Shao Kahn summons his wrath hammer. The fist and the hammer collide, creating a huge shockwave, which nearly sends the heroes off the pyramid, but are saved when Liu Kang shields everyone. When the smoke clears, Taven is laying on the ground, much to the heroes' horror. Shao Kahn grabs Taven by the head and throws him to the ground and he lands on his back before Shao Kahn puts his foot on his chest. Shao Kahn chuckles as he raises his hammer in the air, ready to kill him and take the other half of Blaze's power.
Taven closes his eyes and remembers his mother and father. He remembers the fond memories he has had with them before he remembers his friends he made present time, including Liu Kang, Fujin, Nightwolf, Sindel, Jerrod and Meia. Taven opens his eyes and his fists glow even brighter than before. His flame and Blaze's combined allows him to fire a huge flame from his hands and sends Shao Kahn flying off of him. Taven stands up and is ready to finish this. He and Shao Kahn stare at each other as they both shoot fire from their hands and they collide together. At first, it looked like nobody was winning, but Taven's flames were glowing more stronger and brighter and they start to overpower Shao Kahn's. Shao Kahn is feeling pain within his entire body. Despite his strength to push back, it feels as if the power itself is rejecting him. Shao Kahn yells when he feels more pain when Taven finally overpowers him and he begins to disintegrate. He looks at his own hands and see them burning up in flames as he screams and it echos through the sky as his body slowly vaporizes off the face of the realm. Shao Kahn has been destroyed. For the final time.
"Fatality. For you, mother and father." Taven said. He looks up in the sky and sees the other half of Blaze flowing in the air as it flows within Taven's body. He grits his teeth as he and Blaze have accepted each other.
"Taven?" Meia steps up. Taven turns around to face her. "Are you alright? Is that you?"
Taven smiles and nods to her. "Meia." He whispered. Meia smiles and goes up to hug him.
"Thank the gods you're alive. You fulfilled your prophecy. You stopped Armageddon, defeated Daegon and Shao Kahn. I cannot believe this." Meia looks up at him.
"They are destroyed. Forever. However, my role is not finished." Taven said.
"What do you mean?" Meia asked, confused.
"I cannot release Blaze from my body, even by suicide. It can only be taken if someone kills me. Only I know how to properly control it. This power. It is too dangerous to be kept in the realms." Taven said.
"But where will you go? We can help you. We can find a spell or something that can expel him and we can seal him again." Meia tries to protest.
"With this power, you're invincible. No one can threaten you. We have no enemies to oppose." Sindel said.
"We can help you. Just like you helped us." Jerrod steps up as well.
"We trust you. There has to be a way."'Alex said.
"There is one way you can help me. All of you." Taven turns to Liu Kang.
"Taven. I am not complete certain it will work." Liu Kang said.
"What? I don't understand." Cassie said.
"He is asking me to use the hourglass to open a portal to the void beyond time. A prison that cannot be unlocked unless the time keeper commands it or if the time keeper dies." Liu Kang explains
"What?! You cannot be serious! No! There has to be a way! Please! We cannot! He's our friend!" Meia tries not to tear up.
"And I am pleased to be your friend. I am afraid that there is no other way. It is the only place to keep Blaze out of evil's hands forever. I do not wish to put you all in harm's way should any of you get his power. Please." Taven pleads.
None of the heroes like this idea, not even Meia or Liu Kang. Jerrod, Sindel, even Nightwolf and Hotaru disagree to the idea.
"I…. Understand, Taven. I do not like this idea, but there is no other way. I wish there was. We could use your help." Liu Kang said, still reluctant.
"I did help you, my lord. And in return you helped me. Thank you. All of you. I sense pure souls within you all. Saved the realms countless times, all willing to risk your lives for others, including those from other realms. But this is not the end. I will always be your friend." Taven tells everyone.
Taven steps up and bows before Liu Kang and Fujin out of respect before they bow back. He shakes the hands of Kitana, Jade, Jerrod, Hotaru and Sindel. He gives a friendly smile to those from the clans, Special Forces, etc.
Liu Kang takes a deep breath and uses his time powers to open the portal to the void. Before Taven leaves, he gives Meia one more hug and looks at her.
"You have been my closest friend, Meia. Thank you. Smile, and count on those who can help you. I sense potential and independence within you. And I am proud of you." Taven said. Meia smiles at the compliment. Taven looks at everyone one more time and nods to them as he slowly walks through the portal to the void beyond time. Where no one can find and harm him ever. Once he finally disappears, the void closes. Sealed forever. The war is over. Shao Kahn, the worst of all evil, is dead, alongside Daegon.
The heroes all walked down the pyramid. They felt sad that their friend Taven had to sacrifice himself to ensure that Blaze would not be unleashed upon the realms ever. But he has high respect for everyone, especially Liu Kang and Meia. But Chang Bao's amulet starts lighting up once more. The spirit of Raiden once more appears before each and every single hero that stand before him.
"Lord Raiden." Chang Bao bows out of respect.
"Raiden. You're here." Liu Kang looks up at him.
"Indeed. I have sensed that your final battle was a success. Armageddon has been prevented. All of you have lived through it." Raiden said.
"You knew this would happen. That's why you spoke to me, Alex and Chang Bao and everyone else." Fire God Liu Kang said.
"Because the majority of the ones who have not existed prior to now have always been the keys to victory over Shao Kahn forever. You, Liu Kang, were not a god back then. But I always have confidence in your abilities and knew you would do it as the new protector and the time keeper." Raiden looks at him with a proud face.
"Raiden. Thank you. For everything you have done for us. You inspired us. Me, Liu Kang, and all of us here. You helped us in the Old Era and made sure we would carry on here. You helped us get this far, even after. Gave all of us a future." Alex said, with an arm around Cassie and standing behind Anthony and Flora.
"I could never ask for better heroes than you, Alexander. And that goes for all of you. May you all carry on as the Next Protectors of the realms." Raiden gives everyone a smile before he vanishes once more. As he does so, Daisuki and Kitana walk up to Liu Kang and Chang Bao.
"Liu Kang. We have done it. Our worst fears are gone. I knew we would be able to face the evil together like you said." Kitana said. She hugs her husband and kisses him.
"Indeed we have. Like I have said before. No more with him and his twisted evilness. He will burn for all eternity." Liu Kang said.
"You saved us all. We wouldn't be here without you and mother. I had a feeling you were still alive." Chang Bao smiles as she hugs her parents as well as Daisuki.
"Chang Bao. Now you know what it is like to lead. Someday you or your brother will help lead Outworld one day. You helped lead this team." Kitana smiles at both of them.
"Speaking of teams." Flora said before turning to her parents. "This was the team that you were hiding from us? I was expecting it to be just me, Anthony, Vera and Satoshi."
"You are way off. It was all of you. We've planned this behind y'alls backs with Liu Kang and everyone else. But we wouldn't think it would be against the asshole conqueror himself." Cassie tells her. Flora remained stunned by the sudden surprise while Anthony just laughed.
"Well god damn. I did not see that coming at all." Anthony said, smirking.
"Now that is mind blowing. Why didn't I figure that out?" Vera asked.
"You still have a lot to learn about your powers, Vera." Takeda puts an arm around his daughter. "You'll get there one day. It was hard at first, but you'll get there.
"Oh, so damn proud of you, Vera. That's my girl." Jacqui hugs her daughter tight and Vera smiles.
"Thanks, mom. Way to kill it out there. Has everything like this been insane for you two? Because I feel like it is." Vera joked, making Jacqui snicker.
"Oh, you have no idea how bad it was. And it's only gonna get crazier from here." Jacqui said.
"I believe that all right. No doubt about it." Satoshi said.
"Satoshi. Thank you." Takeda smiles and puts a hand on his shoulder.
"For what?" Satoshi asked.
"For being there with Vera. I always knew you two would make a good couple someday. Just don't get any ideas as of yet." Takeda joked.
"Oh, it's going to be a long time before anything else happens. But it was worth fighting alongside her." Satoshi smiles.
Jade hugs her son and daughter close and smile at their own reunion. "Shu-Shang. Cyan. It pleases me to see you two again. You two fought hard to your breath and stood up despite the odds against you both."
"Mother. I'm heartened that you're alive. I thought we lost you too." Shu-Shang said, trying not to tear up.
"It's alright. I am not going to go away that easily and you know it. I'm surprised you two didn't rip each other apart by then." Jade teases them.
"I'm surprised too. Mother, please don't scare us like that again." Cyan looks at her. The three hug again.
"Know that Kotal will rest well." Jacqui said, getting Jade's attention. "He was the bravest Osh-Tekk I've known." Jacqui smiles at Jade.
"Thank you, Jacquline. I'm very glad you care so much for us." Jade said before she and Jacqui hug.
"We did it, Liu Kang. We owe you big time for saving us back there." Cassie smiles while holding Alex's hand.
"Yeah. I'm just glad all of that is over with. About damn time, too. I do not want to go through that ever again." Alex said.
"Don't fear, Alex. And you owe me nothing. The honor is mine for being your protector for decades. And I knew I could count on you all. I have you to thank for believing in me." Liu Kang smiles and bows his head. After that, Alex and Cassie walk over to Jade and Kitana while Liu Kang speaks to the twins.
"You two should be very happy to have parents like them. They have taught you well. You knew the circumstances despite the odds. I sense your spirits and how strong they are." Liu Kang said. "I will say it will continue to grow stronger for you both." Anthony and Flora nod to the fire god.
"I'm just glad all of that shit is over with. No more Mileena or anything like her." Cassie smirked.
"Oh, fear not. I gave Mileena what was coming to her all this time. I have waited a long time to kill that monstrosity." Kitana said.
"I softened her up for you, just so you know. The way you killed her was more worth watching than how she died last time." Cassie said.
"That is agreeable, Cassandra." Kitana smirks before she and Cassie hug.
"Are you feeling alright, Jade?" Alex asked.
"I am fine, Alex. I never felt satisfied that Daegon is gone. Though I wish I killed him instead of Shao Kahn, that is a thorn removed from my side." Jade said.
"You'll make it through. I told you, we would kill them together. And now they are gone. You're a wonderful mother, Jade." Alex smiles.
"Thank you, Alex. And do not forget that you have done well as a father. And you are the best one I have known, my little brother." Jade said. She and Alex hug and Jade kisses his cheek once more before she turns to Cassie and hugs her as well and shares a kiss. It was time. Time to go home and celebrate their ultimate victory over Shao Kahn, Havik and Daegon.
At last. Everyone's fears have all died. Armageddon has been prevented, and Shao Kahn and Daegon have been destroyed alongside their followers, including the Black Dragon and Red Dragon. A prophesied hero has saved all of the realms from permanent disaster and gave his life to be sealed in a place where he cannot be harmed. His name was Taven. He has avenged his parents and took the powers of Blaze with him to the void beyond time. It was finally time for all the heroes to return to their lives and celebrate the victory and final death of Shao Kahn.
Liu Kang has used his time powers to restore the kingdoms in Orderrealm after Havik invaded it. Hotaru has been restored to power and continues to rule. He returns to his wife, who has recently given birth to a baby son. Hotaru turns Outworld and Edenia after they were destroyed by the Black Dragon. Now everyone can celebrate their victory. First was Edenia. Statues were built to honor Taven as a thank you for his duty to save everyone. Statues were also built for the late Huntress, Cade and Jon in honor of their sacrifice.
It was time for a coronation for Meia to thank her for her part in stopping the war. "Meia. You may rise." Meia does so for the rulers.
"Meia. You have your eternal appreciation for your part in helping us stop Armageddon and how you saved everyone. As a token of our reward, you are now a full class." Jerrod said. He taps Meia's shoulders with a sword. "Arise, new warrior. Soon to be the new ruler of Edenia."
"Thank you, my king. I am honored by your words. I have been grateful to be part of the line up. I know I can do this alone. I now realize I cannot rely on everyone forever. I know when to get help when I absolutely need it." Meia said.
"You will one day, Meia. Right now, it pleases me to say that your parents will be very proud of you and happy for you." Sindel said. All of the Shokan as well as Sheeva, the edenian warriors and citizens all agree with her. They all bend the knee for Meia. At first, she did not know what to say at first, but smiles and nodded and held her staff up to everyone, promising to be a good ruler one day.
Outworld has begun to celebrate as well. A feast takes place in celebration of the death of the most hated ruler that has ever existed. Outworld civilians celebrate with the heroes, including humans, edenians, and tarkatans.
"My friends. My people. We have officially won. No one will haunt us anymore. No more resurrections this time. Years from now will be a new age for us. New Kahns, new protectors, new people. For we fight with each other, not for each other. We are Outworld!" Kitana announces to everyone listening, including Nightwolf, Baraka, Erron, Liu Kang, Jade, Chang Bao, Shu-Shang, Cyan, Daisuki, Jerrod, Sindel and Meia.
"No matter the threats, we will face them together." Liu Kang said. "Everything is going to change. Good and bad things will happen, but we will not be fazed. And we will prevail with future generations on our side."
"Times fly by, I suppose." Jade sighs. "Kotal, if you are watching, please know that we did it. That we won."
"I know, Jade." Kotal said out of nowhere. Jade and her children all stand up in shock, revealing Kotal to be alive.
"Kotal!" Jade runs up to her husband. She jumps in his arms and kisses him. "Husband. I feared the worst. I was afraid you were going to die."
"Father!." Shu-Shang said as she and her brother run up to Kotal and hug him tight.
"We remained strong for you, father. Just as mother promised us to. We all will fulfill our roles. Hoping to do so again. I want to be a guardian to everyone." Cyan said.
"And you will, my son. For your sister, for Flora, for everyone." Jade smirked.
"Wait. How did you know?" Cyan tries not to blush, much to his sister's amusement.
"It does not take long for me to catch on. I have seen the way you look at her and how you two interact. I was expecting you to grow feelings for someone at a later age." Jade chuckles.
"I-I suppose so. She is the kindest earthrealmer to me. I am just glad I have met her." Cyan smiles.
"You two will see each other again. I am sure of it." Kotal gives him a confident smile. "And you, Shu-Shang. Perhaps tomorrow I can show you the ways of being a general. That is if you like to."
"Father…... I would be happy to accept. For my father." Shu-Shang said.
"On one condition: you better make sure you keep your anger under control, and not frighten your fellow Osh-Tekk warriors." Cyan teases her, much to her annoyance.
"Watch yourself, brother. Or else, I may have to put you in line." Shu-Shang teases back.
Kitana talks to Chang Bao and Daisuki. "Daisuki. It is time you understand what it means to be a ruler someday." Kitana said.
"To be a Kahn?" Daisuki asked.
"To be a king. In Edenia." Kitana replied.
"Edenia? Why? Because we have a better idea for a Kahn." Kitana looks at Shu-Shang. "Besides, my mother and father will not always be around to rule. Meia may need someone to help her just in case. She has new independence, but you can help her rule." Kitana knows about Daisuki's feelings for Meia.
"I understand, mother. Can we work on that tomorrow? So I can learn from the best one?" Daisuki asked.
"Tomorrow would be perfect. For now, we continue our feast." Kitana smiles at her son and hugs him before they continue eating. Meanwhile, Chang Bao talks to her father, Liu Kang.
"I saw him. I saw Lord Raiden. All of us did and he spoke to us." Chang Bao said.
"That is because he senses your spirit. Same with your brother and all of your friends. He has always been confident in everyone's abilities to protect and prevail. You ascended and helped protect the realms and showed how good of a leader you are. Raiden knew that I made the right decision to choose you. Someday, you may be the new protector of the realms." Liu Kang pulls his daughter in for a hug. Liu Kang is proud to have a family.
The Monks, Shirai Ryu and surprisingly the Lin Kuei all celebrate in the Fire Village. The warriors from all three pacts have all trained together, at the suggestion of Takeda and Frost. They include their fathers, chujins and clans.
"This is what it feels like to be an actual master. Never fought I would have to lead the Shirai Ryu in such a huge battle like that." Takeda said.
"On the bright side, at least you have had it easier than I did. I was not off to the best start when I became acting leader until after I killed Triborg." Frost replied.
"But at least you're killing it." Jacqui responded. "I can imagine what that is like."
"You two fit your roles well. From what I have seen, you have done good in leading the Shirai Ryu to peace so far." Frost compliments them.
"So have Kung Lao and Kung Jin. They did good with the Shaolin as far as I'm concerned." Kung Gen points out.
"You may learn to lead, but first you must learn to get out more and train more. You will see what I mean." Kung Jin tells her. Aster grabs Kung Gen's hand to comfort her. Gen turns to Aster and the latter smiles and nods.
"Very well. I suppose it won't hurt a bit." Kung Gen accepts while remembering Aster's advice.
"So, Vera." Jacqui said. "How did it feel kicking ass?"
"Honestly, I was mind blown. Never thought I would do it, especially against someone like Ermac. That guy nearly caused my head to split open, but that serves him right." Vera said, making Jacqui laugh.
"You fought bravely, Satoshi. You led your Shirai team well. Your parents and your sister are happy for you." Kenshi compliments Satoshi. Vera leans in and kisses Satoshi's cheek and puts her hand on his. They smile at each other as she leans her head on his shoulder.
"I have seen weirder shit than this, but I never thought all three pacts would celebrate together. Must be a rare occasion." Jax points out. He always remembered the time the Lin Kuei and Shirai Ryu were once enemies.
"I mean who doesn't believe you on that, dad." Jacqui said. "I mean everyone does. What's so weird is how everything is changing in the New Era. I'm just happy that's all done now."
"Don't blame ya, Jacqui. You led this team like a badass. Nice one." Jax puts his metal hand on her face and Jacqui smiles and hugs her dad. "Awesome job so far, Takeda. You're only gonna get better."
Takeda smirks and takes the words to heart as he holds Jacqui's hand and they hold each other closely as they all continue eating and celebrating their victory. It will only bring forth a new day for the Shirai Ryu, Lin Kuei and Shaolin.
Last but not least, the Special Forces. The entire Cage family are celebrating at Johnny's and Sonya's new home that they have bought together for when they retired. Not only are there fireworks, but they are having a BBQ with burgers, hot dogs and chili as well as soda and alcohol.
"We never got to do this for a long ass time. Last time we did this was over the creepy old man and the fucking asshole Geras who reminds me of my worst movie ever made." Johnny said.
"You mean Fatal Infinity? Yeah, that would be it. But Geras was at least more threatening than whatever your damn villain was." Sonya joked. Johnny just snickers and shrugs it off, knowing she's not wrong.
"Yeah, but at least I delivered the boom on everything else." Johnny tries to lie.
Alex sarcastically laughs. "That's not how I heard it. Coming from the guy who got his ass kicked by Jax and normally has his shit get mixed to negative reviews." This causes Flora, Anthony and Cassie to laugh.
"Straight up, savage, Alex. Nice one." Cassie winks at her husband.
"Well at least I didn't get the big talk from future parent in laws." Johnny fires back. This actually causes Alex to get angry and throw his alcohol drink right into Johnny's face, making Sonya laugh more.
"You can be such a fucking asshole sometimes." Alex glares at him before laughing. "I got my revenge by record you fighting yourself."
"Totally worth it." Johnny said, laughing as well. Anthony smiles and rolls his eyes.
"Children. Grandma Sonya, how have you managed to put up with him for so long?" Anthony joked.
"A lot of drinks and ways to tolerate his damn jokes. At least he's less of a child now." Sonya replied.
"That explains his inner child then." Flora said. "So, when do we plan on going back to duties?"
"Tomorrow. Maybe the day after. Maybe two days after." Cassie shrugs and smiles.
"I can go with two more days. I don't see the rush. Besides, so much work was done within a week, I mean god damn." Alex said.
"Oh yeah. Black Dragon and Red Dragon dying again. Everyone else dying again. I'm just glad Mileena didn't die in a disgusting way this time." Cassie said.
"And facing Shao Kahn for the first time. He was no pushover." Alex said.
"Glad to hear that you actually kicked his ass. Neither of us could do that. That's why you're the strong soldier we have." Sonya smirks at her son-in law.
"Whenever there is another big baddie, I want a shot." Flora said, up for a challenge.
"Oh yeah? Well whoever does so first, otherwise you may want to get in line." Anthony replied.
"You may be my leader, but you're still my brother. We will just have to see about that." Flora said, making Alex and Cassie roll their eyes and smile.
"I'm just so glad things are over with." Alex said. "Isn't that right, Cassie?"
"You bet your ass, Alex." Cassie said. She leans in and kisses him as Alex happily returns the kiss. "Another day?"
"Another day. More duty. More kombat." Alex smiles as they continue drinking and eating their food, happy about this day.
The heroes are very happy about their biggest victory yet. They have worked endlessly, fought to their breath, nearly gave their lives to protect the realms. For now they rest easy. For soon, there is another day. Another day in the world of Mortal Kombat.
Within the pyramid of Argus, where Blaze was unleashed and the final battle took place. Energy began flowing from the now six empty slots where the Kamidogu used to be. They all flow down to the bottom deep below the pyramid… where a giant dragon egg lays dormant. The energy flies within the egg. It lags there motionlessly. That was until, it started cracking on both sides. A small growl becomes bigger and echoes within the pyramid.
Post Scenes
The Netherrealm. Once more filled with the heroes' enemies, led by Mileena now that Shao Kahn is gone forever. They survived the Battle of Armageddon, including Mileena, Mavado, Havik, Goro and Darrius.
Mileena vowed to never ally herself with her sworn enemies, given their part in her father's death. But now, she is more bloodthirsty and this time, does not plan on sitting around. Fortunately for her, she has made her own pact with Chaosrealm and the Red Dragon.
Among the villains are Nitara, a vampire. With her people starving, Mileena has taken her in, promising her food and salvation.
It was time for a coronation. With Shao Kahn deceased permanently, Mileena is the next in line. Just like the Old Era. All of her followers and allies stand next to each other on both sides. Mileena chose not to become Kahnum until the time was right for her, since her father was previously comatose after being transferred to a new body after Shang Tsung's betrayal.
Mileena has changed her clothing. Her robes are now black with purple hanging down from her right shoulder to her waist. Her hair is sticking up and in a big ponytail. She wears black high heels and part of her robes exposes her stomach and partly her breasts.
Mileena begins her way into her throne room as everyone bows their heads before her. But one of them is missing. Mileena snarls out of happiness. She briefly gestures to her twin sais. She remembered Shao Kahn giving them to her as a gift for when one of their enemies Li Mei dropped them. Upon reaching the steps to the throne, she spots Tanya and Nitara, he former holding her crown and the latter having crafted her a new battle mask after her last one was destroyed. Mileena sits down on her throne as Tanya makes her speech.
"Fellow followers who served Shao Kahn across many timelines. His return has brought us far in life. And he has fallen at the hands of that bastard Taven. But what happened to him is never forgotten or forgiven. For we are in the hands of his daughter. Worthy successor to the throne. Mileena. Now the new Kahnum." Tanya said. She turns to Mileena and smiles gracefully as Tanya bends forward and slowly placed her golden crown on top of her head. Mileena smiles as she and Tanya stare at each other for a few moments.
"Mileena Kahnum. As a token to show my respect, I bestow you a new battle mask. Crafted by my hands, to honor you and your late father. Blood has been spilled, but we will make more spill as screams cry out under your leadership. Per your commands and plans, we serve no one else besides you until death." Nitara announces as she places the mask into her lap and briefly bows to her as she steps beside the throne alongside Tanya.
After a few moments of silence, Mileena stands up to face her followers from Outworld, Chaosrealm and the Black Dragon and Red Dragon.
"My allies. It has been weeks. One earth month. Almost two since our humiliating defeat at their hands led by my sister, her husband the fire god, and the humans of Earthrealm and Edenians of Edenia., Our forces have become stronger and bigger than before. But lucky for us, I have a plan. My new spy should be back with new info at any given point now. With me as the new Kahnum, I will lead us and fulfill my father's wishes by any means necessary. Our pact with our Chaos Cleric Havik and Lord Mavado, successor to Daegon, have signed and agreed. There are secrets that our enemies have been hiding, regarding special powers and the multiverse. No more focusing just on our timeline." Mileena Kahnum announces. Everyone goes into an uproar, liking the speech and whatever her new plan will be.
As everyone cheers, the same gladiator has returned from Outworld and drops the disguise via magic. It is revealed to be none other than Seamus Lee. Lord Mavado smiles upon her return and grasps her hand with his own.
"Ah. How was your fine trip in Outworld?" Mavado smirks.
"I have seen better things than what is left of it being ruled by that idiot Kitana." Seamus Lee comments. "I was told she was always clever. But no one suspected. Not even two gods. I confess that I am disappointed. The gullible ones never suspect anything.
"Outworld was better when Shao Kahn ruled. It has seen better days. But it will be renewed and ruled under our names." Mavado said to her.
"Do tell us, girl. What have you found in Outworld? That you possibly overheard my soft sister?" Mileena Kahnum walks up to Seamus Lee.
"Based on what I have gathered, they are learning a new powerful technique from their friend known as Nightwolf. It stands to reason that they have learned recently." Seamus Lee reported to Mileena Kahnum.
"The Matokan Tribe has always been very powerful as an ally to Earthrealm. He always served Raiden and now serves the fire god. In the Old Era, his powers killed Sindel, but at the cost of his own life based on what Quan Chi and Shang Tsung told us decades ago." Reptile stated.
"I have not had Matokan blood in so long. I'd be happy to suck him dry, so he would no longer be of use to them." Nitara offered.
Nitara feels so hungry for blood ever since. She has learned to control her thirst and no longer necessarily needs to constantly drink in order to survive. Her abilities have been extended and can create spells from word chanting from a blood mage book.
"Tempting. But a power like that could be useful to us." Seamus Lee said.
"Which is why I asked Mavado to have Tessa spy on our enemies. We knew that there were some things that the other version of Kronika and her own allies were telling them something that we don't know." Mileena stated.
"Ferra/Torr want power now! Death to earth girl!" Ferra yelled, remembering their defeat at the hands of Flora Cage.
"The fire god will be on guard for any of us." Havik pointed out. "They outmatch us. I love those odds. It motivates me. But I do have something I would like to point out. I sensed something. During our final battle on top of that pyramid."
This gains everyone's attention. The Red Dragon looks at him out of curiosity.
"Do tell, Chaos Cleric. What is it that you have discovered before your defeat at Fujin's and Hotaru's hands?" Mileena asked.
"Deep beneath the pyramid floors. Lies something very powerful, and hidden away. One that hasn't been felt by many since ancient days." Havik said. "This being. Long believed to be extinct, and has nearly unimaginable power that is feared by all realms. Chaosrealm included."
Mileena looks at Havik in the eyes and her eyes widened at what he is talking about. And then, she sees Chaosrealmers come in, carrying a giant egg.
"Impossible. It cannot be." Mileena said in shock.
"This is a dragon's egg buried deep beneath the Pyramid of Argus. Where Blaze was sealed. It appeared to have remained dormant for thousands of years." Havik explained.
"How is that possible? It would have been able to hatch before the final battle." Seamus Lee questions him.
"The Pyramid was protected by powerful magic. Magic was what helped seal Blaze and the egg. And it appeared that it was lifted once Shao Kahn placed the Kamidogu into the key slots. Their blood magic has been dangerous, yet it always had its use." Havik said.
"You do not suppose that this new dragon could be related to the Dragon King? The one that everyone feared, and goes by the name Onaga. Even Shao Kahn feared him. That's why he poisoned him rather than face him. A cowardly way to kill one's master." Goro scoffs.
"Father always had a brilliant mind! Even with tactical advantages! Mock his name again and you'll be sent back to Chaosrealm for more suffering!" Mileena threatens him.
"A dragon born from an egg and on our side? It would be fascinating to have one on our side." Mavado pointed out. "Onaga had firepower, necromancy beyond any sorcerer, and was nearly invulnerable. No one could outmatch him in combat. Even a god will have trouble even attempting to fight a dragon."
"Yes, yes. A dragon on our side. And I suspect that the fire god and his moronic family aren't even aware of its existence. But Liu Kang is very powerful. So is his friend Alex Cage. They have defeated Kronika, Geras, Shang Tsung and even my father." Mileena said.
"Yet the dragon grows quickly. And with a lifespan beyond anything else. With your guidance, and its powers, we can turn the tide against the realms." Tessa advises Mileena.
"And should it betray us? Dragons have fiery blood and they can be brilliant and are resistant to magic. It can even learn other forms of magic." Skarlet said.
Before anyone can question further, the egg slowly begins cracking. Everyone remains silent and surprised by how quick it is hatching. The egg bursts open and the scaly pieces fly everywhere and bounce off of some of the enemies harmlessly. Then, there was an egg-shaped fiery shield in its place before it thins and wears off within seconds. A baby dragon lays asleep.
Mileena chuckles. She gets up from her throne and slowly walks up to the creature and picks it up. She carries the hatchling like it was a real baby.
"This dragon will be the ultimate asset." Mileena said. "For now, I shall name it... Adrelita."
The baby dragon opens its eyes and shows it's dark brown cat-like eyes.
"So. You're Batman? Also known as Bruce Wayne?"
"Yes. And from everyone's reactions, it appears that there is no Batman or Superman of this world." Batman replied.
"Okay? And? What does that guy in the red cape that nearly attacked us have to do with anything? The guy's a real as–" Flora gets cut off by Harley, putting a finger on Flora's lips.
"Ah, ah, ah, kiddo! Language! There are other people here that are still in school!" Harley smiles and blows a bubble from her gum, while referring to Blue Beetle and Firestorm."
"Oh, c'mon! We're freaking 18!" Blue Beetle shouted.
"Umm, okay? But anyway, so the Justice League. Sounds like a cool name for a group of heroes. But why are you here? We have most of your friends with us." Cassie asked.
"An accident. Superman has escaped the Phantom Zone with help. And regained his powers from a rare form of Platinum Kryptonite. He stole some of our technology and wanted to find an alternate world where an alien named Brainiac was alive. But unfortunately, some other alien came to earth, wanting revenge on us. The fight ended, causing our trans dimensional gateway to malfunction and transport us here." Batman explains.
"And the explosion caused everyone to seperate in the process. Scattered across the realms. Hopefully our enemies in the Netherrealm won't know about this." Alex guessed.
"Exactly. We need help in finding the rest of our friends and enemies and recover the tech. But we don't know anything about this world." Batman asked the group.
"Before we make a plan. We must know your history." Fire God Liu Kang said.
"Deal." Batman nodded.
"But who's that alien guy that attacked you guys?" Anthony asked.
"We don't know. But he claimed to want revenge on us for killing his son. I never got his name. But this is one alien I can think of that I had saved in my files." Batman pressed some buttons on his left gauntlet and it showed an alien. He has brown skin, wears golden and green armor, and appears to have thick, black hair.
Supergirl steps up and her eyes widened at the sight of this strange warrior.
"Oh my god. My cousin….. He killed Kalibak?" Supergirl asked in shock.
"You know him, Kara?" Batman turns to her.
"I've read about him…. He's the son of Darkseid. The same one who attacked us. Now I remember him." Kara said with a feared tone.
"Darkseid? Kalibak? Okay. Someone needs to explain this. Like ASAP." Vera said.
"Aye. Better be snappy because it looks like we got two worlds to save." Blue Beetle said.
"Looks like it's story time for all of us! Better get comfortable, because Batsy brings up the best ones!" Harley yelled in excitement.
"We may or may not like it. So who's first, Batman?" Alex asked.
