"She's delusional," Eames spoke while leaving the interview room. On the other side, police officers cuff Nikki Wallace and read her rights.

"She lives in this fantasy in her head that she could have the perfect mother. It's not uncommon to see group home kids project this savior fantasy of a loving parental figure who would take them back. If she were abused this would serve to strengthen this fantasy. Make her double down," Goren added.

"So nature or nurture where do you land?" Eames questioned.

"I believe people can rise up from their circumstances and choose better but there's a lot of cases we took that show sometimes the apple doesn't fall far from the tree even Francis Galton thought so. I guess I don't have a real answer for you."

Eames begins to walk away.

"Where you going?"

"To eat some crow."

She made her way to see the Chief of Ds.

"What are you doing here? Finally come to your senses?" The Chief of D's responded, a little more than agitated to see her face after her accusations.

"I'm here to set the record straight. You weren't the one that leaked our information."

"Which I tried to tell you the first time."

"It all pointed to you. I just follow where the leads take me. Look, I'm admitting I was wrong. Not like you were completely innocent. You still knew what was going on and you could have stopped it yourself. Instead, of sending us around in circles."

"He is my son what was I supposed to do."

"Do better. Gregory's death is still on you and that's something you will have to live with. I'm dropped my charges against you now that we have the real culprit."

"You arrested me. Don't think I'll forget that. You humiliated me in front of my colleagues."

"To be fair, you still did interfere with a terrorist investigation."

"That charge will be dropped soon I'm not done fighting it."

She turns to leave, "Even so, Goren was right maybe it'll send the message something to think about next time. We gotta be on the right side of things. That's the job. integrity."

"Don't forget that for every action there's consequences and you'll have to live with yours too."

"So you make our lives hard. Goren's reputation and the rumor mill already make our jobs harder, we still do our jobs."

"I was talking about that boy you killed. Don't think they will let you off the hook for that."

"So are you saying blue won't have my back? I had no malice when I fired that shot."
"You think his mother will be suddenly alright because you held no malice. She wants action and she won't stop until she gets it and you've made no friends here. What will become of you? Hell you could be in my very place right now. That's justice."

"There is no justice in this situation. Either party will suffer and nothing brings him back. I would hope that how I've done my job these years would earn me the benefit of the doubt but I guess when you're angry it's hard to see past transgressions."

As Eames began to leave she was lost in her thoughts about what the future held for her. Consequences. Am I ready to face the consequences of my well intention actions? I didn't want to kill a boy but I did. My job is to protect and serve and for all intense and purposes I did everything to uphold my duties. Anytime a gun is fired in the line of duty, there were sick feelings of did I do my job right? Was the shoot good? What's going to happen now? But when the shoot ends in a innocent slain... Eames felt like she was going to vomit. She quickly left and turned the corner outside the building where she hurled against the brick wall. Feeling some relief she turned on her heels and made her way home.
