"State your name and rank for the record."

"Alexandra Eames, Senior Major Case Detective" She held her hand out on the bible and swore her testimony would be true.

"Can you take us back to the events that led to you being within the vicinity of the protest?"

"We were given a case that linked to a potential terrorist threat at the protest."

"So you received a threat and yet nothing was done to close down the protest or to protect the protesters from said threat."

"We didn't want to create a mass panic and we needed to apprehend the suspected terrorist."

"I see and from what you were told, who was the suspected terrorist?"

"At first it was suspected that it was Gregory Falter but.."
"Gregory Falter who was killed in the attack?"

"Yes at first but we then received information that he was being set up so we had to enter the protest to try and catch the would be terrorist before he acted."

"Who assigned this case?"

"It came from above sir. Chief of D's."

"Is it true you pressed charges against the Chief of D's?"

"Yes. My partner and I were doxed and only later found out the real culprit. He also interfered with the case by not giving us all the information to stop the attack. He knew his son was involved."

"So, is it correct to say you've acted wrongly in this case?"

"We went where the leads took us. No, I do not believe we acted wrongly."

"Is it safe to say that when you fired the lethal shot into 13 year old, you acted wrongly?"

"At the time, he appeared to be a threat and no one knows who fired the shot. I'm the only one taking responsibility for my actions."

"Could that be your guilt in knowing you were wrong?"

"No. It's my conscious knowing a boy is dead and my part to play but I repeat I wasn't the only shooter."

"By your words you conscious is saying you have guilt over your part to play. Where was your partner during all of this?"

"He was by the crowd trying to corral them into safety. The crowd had begun pushing and stepping over each other after the blast."

"And in his report he saw the inhaler, what you thought was a gun?"

"Correct but a police officer had already shouted gun."

"And from your position what did you see?"

"I saw a glint of shine from what we know now as the inhaler but what appeared to be a weapon at the time."

"Your honor I'd like to present evidence," the lawyer continued, "Is this the inhaler you saw the night of the protest?"

"Yes."

"Your honor, at this time I'd like to submit this into evidence, exhibit A: Jordan's Inhaler."

"I'll allow it."

"Now from looking at it now, does it appear to be a weapon?"

"No. But I wasn't close enough to see."

"So you fired without verifying."

"I fired by instinct. When an officer yells gun... It was automatic."

"I imagine this scene must have been stressful, do you think that played a role in the events that followed?"

"Yes but not more than any other day on the job."

"In your words an attack happened but there's no record of said attack? Why is that?"

"My guess is the Chief wanted to protect his son but there is a recording of the attack."

"Do we have this recording?" The DA conferred with his associates.

"Objection, you honor this has nothing to do with the court's proceedings."

"It has to do with the state of mind of the officers involved and the temperament of the crowd."

"Overruled. I'll allow it."

The DA produced the recording, I want to submit the following recording into evidence. Exhibit B."

The DA pressed play on the recording. The tape sputtered on and there was background noise from the protest.

There was a faint voice, "You should have stayed home. But that's not my problem now. You fell into this and now you are tied to this bomb."

"You don't need to do this Goren! Come in." The audio began breaking cutting in and out "It's pat. Why?"

"I wish you hadn't done that."

As the voices stopped a huge blast is heard from the explosion."

"As you can hear in the recording there was an explosion and the perpetrator was identified as Pat. That corroborates Detective Eames' Story."

"Your honor I think we are getting a little distracted from the case at hand here. The case is a wrongful shooting not a bomb threat."

"Yes. I'm inclined to agree. You made your point, now it's time to move along."

"I'm done for now. Your witness," The DA acquiesced.
