AN: This is probably going to be a OneShot, I might add more chapters or do something from Harry's POV but we shall see. Hopefully, you enjoy it.

From across the room
--
Daphne sat in her usual position at the Slytherin table, her seat as close to the fire as she could get. While the huge, enchanted room wasn't cold per se, its sheer size, empty space, stone walls, flooring, and vaulted ceiling just made it feel cold.
From her seat, she could clearly see everything going on in the room Ernie Macmillan from Hufflepuff was practicing some charm on this plate, what the charm was she couldn't quite work out the noise of the call drowning out the incantation. Luna Lovegood a rather strange girl was sitting the wrong way round at the Ravenclaw table occasionally reaching back to grab some food and reading the Quibbler a magazine her father produced… although for some reason holding it upside down, maybe it made more sense that way up.
Finally, over at Gryffindor's table a few interesting characters the ginger Ron Weasley, the book-smart Granger sat on either side of the black-haired and had fairly average intelligence from what she had seen in class boy who lived, Harry Potter or as Malfoy called him Scar head. Looking over at him she could see he had a fairly decent-sized portion of roast lamb on his plate, and he was looking at her…quizzically…
"Oh, crap he's looking at me," Daphne thought quickly averting her gaze, what interesting potatoes they were on her plate.
"Huh?" Tracey Davis, a dark-haired girl also known as Daphne Greengrass's best friend said sitting next to her.
Damn, she thought she only thought it but apparently, it slipped out her mouth.
"Who's looking at you?" Tracey asked.
"Professor Snape" Daphne blurted out suddenly. Why he came to mind she had no idea, but it was the best excuse she could think of on the spot. What was she supposed to say she was caught staring at Harry Potter.
"Oh, right…" Tracey Replied "You see that is interesting because despite the fact from here you can easily see everyone in the room, you may notice that Professor Snape isn't actually in here. So now I know you're lying how about the truth" She continued raising an eyebrow.
Damn, she hadn't even realized he wasn't here. "Fine but not here, come with me" Daphne growled out. Getting up pulling Tracey by her sleeve.
"But what about my dinner, roast lambs my favorite" Tracey complained resisting Daphne's tug of her sleeve.
"I won't tell you then" Daphne grumbled starting to walk off, not wanting to look stupid sitting down again.
"Fine, Fine I'm coming but there best be lamb next week" Tracey grumbled back.
Once they had walked a short distance from the great hall, Daphne spun Tracey around next to an old cupboard.
"Look, if you want to know who I was accidentally staring at, you will have to promise to keep your mouth shut" Daphne demanded.
"Oh touchy, but sure what even my lips are sealed" Tracey responded.
"Harry caught me".
"What Harry McNell, well I suppose it's not too bad. Bit old though isn't he like 2 years older?"
"Who is Harry McNell" Daphne Asked
"You know the Ravenclaw prefect. But hang on if it wasn't him… oh no please don't tell me it was Potter" Tracey asked.
"Yes, it was Potter all right. But it's not what you think I was just looking around the fall and kind of just stopped at him briefly" Daphne reasoned.
"Look ever since you have come to Hogwarts you have had some sort of crush for a few weeks over him. Just talk to him for God's sake what's the worst that can happen" Tracey said.
"I can't he's always with the other two-thirds of the golden trio. The Weasley always keeps us Slytherins away from him. You know because Malfoy the berk he seems to think Slytherin is out to get him".
"Fair but surely, he isn't with them all the time. Be brave Daphne, go forth and talk to your one true Lo…" Tracey started before being roughly shoved into the cupboard behind her and having the door slammed on her face just as footsteps rounded the corner.
Of course, it had to be Potter, and he was on his own.
"Are you ok? Where's your friend Tracey gone? "He asked the slightly panicked-looking Daphne".
"Yep, I am Fine, totally fine. Just waiting for Tracey she's in the toilet" Daphne replied slightly rushed and the cupboard behind her mumbled and shook a bit from Tracey trying to get out. Daphne just held the door tighter.
"Ok then well I saw you staring at me, just wondered if you wanted something?" Harry asked once more the cupboard behind Daphne shaking.
"Oh no, just daydreaming. I do that allot, well sometimes, ok not that often but it's all good… Sorry if it made you uncomfortable" Daphne tried to say nervously laughing. The cupboard making some more muffled sounds and banging. Daphne just thumped it with her fist.
"Are you sure you're ok, there seems to be something in that cupboard" Harry said cautiously.
"Ah yes... it's a… erm... It's a Bogart" Daphne replied also sounding a little unsure.
"Did you want me to get a professor for you?" Harry asked and more noises and banging came from the cupboard.
No, no it's fine… Harry McNell has already gone" Daphne said, Tracye said he was a prefect so good cover she thought.
"Ok, well see you around I guess," Harry said before turning to walk back around the corner he came from.
Daphne stepped away from the cupboard letting Tracey tumble out. Tracey stood up dusted herself off and face Daphne.
"What the bloody hell was that for, do you know how dusty and dark it is in there! Tracey said.
Unfortunately to Daphne's dismay just at that moment, Harry Potter poked his head back round the corner.
"Oh and.." he looked confused for a second before smirking "I was going to ask if you wanted to go for a walk around the lake or something later but looks like you will be busy. He finished.
"What, why will Daphne be busy?" Tracye asked very confused "and when was you last talking to her?"
"Well…" Daphne started before Harry cut her off.
"Whilst you were in the toilet, Daphne was holding a bogart in that cupboard, but the doors open so it must have escaped… unless Daphne is terrified of Tracey, and it's taken her form" Harry said.
"I'm not a bogart," Tracey said realization dawning on her "where having words later" she grumbled under her breath.
Daphne just stood there wishing she was in the cupboard, maybe she should just step back into it and shut the door. However, before Daphne could respond to either Harry Potter or Tracey. Tracey answered for her.
"Sure, Daphne absolutely will be available for a walk around the lake. How about in an hour just out the front" Tracye said happily.
"Emm ok sure see you in an hour then" Harry said disappearing once more round the corner.
A few seconds later Tracey said "That's what you get for calling me bogart" dragging Daphne down the stairs to get ready for here date at the lake.
Well, it could have been worse Daphne thought to herself. I could have been the bogart. I wonder what you do for a date around the lake, it's going to be freezing in November.
