Eyeshadow I've got to stop writing these at night. From now on we get organized. You know the drill by now I own what I own( my ideas and oc's) but not whatever could get me sued. By the way this title applies to the whole arch. Prepare yourself ok?

BEEP BEEP.

BEEP BEEP.

Naruto raised his head and turned off the alarm. It was his first day back in Konoha as of today and he was exhausted. He made sure to tell his parents as much everything about his mission. His mother had some questions about the final blow he dealt to Haku. She knew of his endeavors to catalog information on Labolas for the clan but also his attempt to gain a secondary contract. A practice that does out before the First Great Ninja war. Demons believe it or not, tend to be pretty possessive. The mental gymnastics that it would require to deal with more than one contract was explained or helped by Satomi's blessing. The demonic tome only said secondary contracts were possible. There was nothing on how to manage them. Naruto's problem was that he didn't remember what incantation he used. So his and Labolas's trials with Tora may not have even meant anything. The infernal had swore that progress was made but how much depended on Toras ability to survive. Since Tora wasn't exactly in a pact with Naruto, they couldn't communicate the way he and Labolas did. Which meant that if Labolas didn't know exactly what was going on with Tora neither would he. It was all such a headache in what was supposed to be Naruto's legendary moment. The first act that would cement him as a prodigy in his own right.

Honestly who in their right mind would want more than one demon screaming in their head while they try to fight a war. According to history no one that lived. The benefits (Naruto's only real interest in the subject) were obvious. More variety when fighting while staying relatively at the same power level was like gold to an Uzumaki faction be damned. It's why anomalies were so coveted in the Eddy faction. Depending on the person an anomaly could make an army with ease with no help. Of course things didn't exactly pan out either way since in the Second Great Ninja War, the Uzumakis migrated to Konoha. His grandmother Tatsuo's idea. It was funny to think about, war. His parents and grandparents fought in them and now he was gonna take an ex man meant to qualify him for it. Of course these were relatively peaceful times, nobody was gonna outright attack the village especially when his dad was the current Hokage. But the exams were no joke either way. Naruto had heard from team 8 that because it was peaceful times the test would be harder. Their sensei Anko said people die in the exams all the time. It was on his way to meet up with his own team that he saw team 13. The ice princesses told them about what they had heard of the exam.

"I'm not surprised you qualified for the test Naruto, it's a really big deal." Rio said. The Kaguya clan heiress was so nonchalant about the whole thing he almost thought she was being sarcastic.

"Well we don't want to forget why. Remember what Kurenai sensei told us? Beacuse so many Genin passed this year the pressure will be on ten." Yakumo interjected. She was right of course, normally about three teams came out of the academy each year but now there was five. It would be crazy to think the test wouldn't change after a development like that.

"So when did you sign the forms Naruto kun? This is your first day back yes?" Hinata asked. I wonder if he noticed. I don't usually talk so casually with him! He's probably freaking out!! She screamed in her mind. The boy was freaking out but not for the reason she thought. I'M GONNA BE LATE! Naruto thought.

"It was great talking to you Hinata! I need to go now you know?" He said running to the meeting spot for team 7. This left Hinata in daze almost sure that her use of "kun" had scarred of her crush. Something her friends couldn't help but tease. Which certainly didn't make it better.

"YOU'RE LATE NARUTO!" Sasukes screeched as soon as she saw Naruto.

"Yeah yeah, I know. Honestly you know Kakashi wouldn't show up for at least another hour. If I were you I'd have taken the time to get some sparing in. Or maybe, stay home and fix that hair." Naruto said.

Sakuras for about ten seconds while her inner self ranted about the fact that She shouldn't be made fun of for being punctual, her fist tightened. "Naruto!" She swung at the boy with all her strength... missed. Or to be more accurate, was dodged. She would've attacked again but Kakashi had made himself known. "Well I guess we could use some more team building then? That's perfect because I actually have a few missions lined up for you all." Kakashi said. Team 7 spent their time picking weeds, cleaning gutters, and chasing down animals. Of course it wouldn't be a day if D ranks without the infamous Tora mission. "Ugh this again. It's so lame right Sasukes? Why can't we do another gardening mission?" Sakura said. "...You sound like Naruto." Sasuke responded walking up ahead. It crushed her spirit but also allowed her to see the cat on her left. At first she thought it was Tora it had the distinct line running down the its forehead. It had the three crosses over said line too but also some similar patterns on its paws and tail. They were flipped and almost looked like trees to her. The final nail on the coffin was the missing signature bow Tora was always seen with. "See something Sakura?" Kakashi asked. "No I guess not. Just some all cat over there." She said. Naruto turned to see what she was talking about and when the he saw the cat they mad eye contact and it ran.

"...WAIT A SECOND!" He shouted and ran after the cat.

"NARUTO WERE IN A MISSION! That cat isn't even him!" Sakura screamed. "That idiot" she and Sasuke thought. Meanwhile the red head was in hot pursuit of the fiendish feline. Three shrap turns and one dead end alter Naruto was face to face with the cat. Hss! The car obviously wasn't happy to see him, something that further fueled Naruto's beliefs. "Great look. I see you've taken to demon life well." The cat jumped up at Naruto swiping at his face. "PUIM!" The cat was strung up in mid air by the nape of his neck. "Fine you caught me. This is the thanks I get after helping you with that masked freak." Tora said. "Oh yes, that was very much appreciated. In fact I've come to strike up a deal. As it stands you aren't exactly an infernal yet. When you enter that world you may be a completely different entity but since you're still living your souls got a tie to earth." Naruto explained. "The big cat told me it'd be like that yeah. So what is this deal then? I'm already serving as a test subject right? " Tora replied. "Slow down kitty, no need to get grumpy. I'll admit that I did this as an experiment. The bigger picture though comes from the fact that it worked ! Judging by your change in appearance it's obvious you taken down something big. Not just the scraps from Labolas. A few more of those and you might even be able to use some abilities outside of inferno." Naruto said taking the cat down. "Look I get that you want something from me. But I got wants too! What's to stop me from staying in Infernno and becoming a big name. Then I won't need you." He said stretching. "Ha there's something you DONT know about that kitty. Without a pact with me you'll soon die after those kills. And your soul will be gobbled up in seconds by a lowly Sloth. No big name, no freedom, only the haunting nightmares of that witch you call an owner." Naruto said smugly. "Hmph, I assume you set the terms already. Hit me with the details." Tora grouched. He didn't like being helpless, which is why he agreed to all of this in the first place. "Will have to go about making a contract. I think the standard should suit you. We remain loyal to each other and in return I can use your strength in battle and the like. You can garner souls and experience from these battles so that big name you want can happen. Now even thought this is a secondary contract I like you so I'll try my best to keep things even once you're more infernal than furball. Any notes?" Naruto said. "Hmmm...I have one request. Sense I'll be able to travel back in forth for a while I want you to the one taking care of my needs. That lady can NEVER see me again.Treat me well and maybe I'll consider the whole serving your family bit." He said. Naruto chuckled and handed him a scroll. "I just need you to put your paw down here and then I can keep better track of you. With this I'll know when and how to summon you." The cat did as instructed and a burst of purple smoke came up from the contract. "Ok that's it. Welcome to the pride Tora. Let me know when you get some special abilities of your own. Anything little could be a clue." Tora nodded and with Naruto's help returned to inferno. "Next step ultimate clan head! YEAAAHHH BELIEVE I-"

"HELP! SOMEONE HELP MEEEE!"

Glad I don't have to deal with that. I''m already gonna get earful from Sakura. "Wah- ahhhhh!" Before Naruto could leave the alley a small boy fell from the rooftops, blocking his path. He had spiky brown hair and goggles resting on his forehead. He was tangled up in a long blue scarf. "Hey you! Look, you gotta help me. I was just trying to get some training from the kunoichi but she freaked out and now she's chasing after me like some lunatic!" He said. Naruto sighed. "Well look kid maybe this could be your training hmm? Some endurance and evasion skills can come out of this. See how long you last, oh and try not to 'freak out' anymore kunoichi. If I know anything it's that you don't want one upset with you, could be the end if you're not careful." He said sagely. "T-the end?" The boy said. "Oh yeah. Your lucky it wasn't my teammate she'd fine you in five minutes and smash your head in. I should know I spared with her." The boy picked himself up both physically and mentally it seemed because he then replied "I bet she's not all that! I'm the grandson of the third Hokage I can probably take her in my sleep." He said with a smirk. "Oh great a name dropper too." Naruto thought. He smiled at the boy and turned to walk away. "You do your best to get home safely." He said sarcastically. "Wait what if she's still out there." The kid said. Wow he's actually scared. Naruto thought before sighing. "Look can you describe her to me? Maybe if I know her I can get you out of this hmm, or at least make it hurt less when she catches you?" He asked. "Well alright. She's got long hair and these green eyes. It makes her hair look okay but man her FOREHEAD was massi-"

"CHA I FOUND YOU PUNK!! Calling me a witch just because I said no to playing ninja? I'LL BASH YOUR HEAD INTO THE GROUND!!!"

Speak of the devil and she shall appear. Naruto tried to talk it out with her but the kid pushed past him and ran out of the alley. All the noise made the cat leave and then only Sakura remained in alley with her teammate. "Look that kid is a bratty creep that pestered me and Sasuke the whole time we were in Hokage's Tower. When I told him no he called me that horrible name infront of Sasuke." This and the fact that Sasuke had just rejected her date was why she had started to chase the boy. "Well you can't just kill the kid. I actually think I've seen him before." Naruto said. "Oh? So just because you've seen him around the village before he's exempt from punishment! Huh well than why don't YOU take it in his behalf. You disappeared just because you didn't want to do the Tora mission, some clan heir, you've got no sense of responsibility!" She said while swinging at the boy. "Seriously Sakura you just need to hear me out on those things. The Tora mission could be monopolized if we play our cards right but more on that later." Naruto and Sakura walked out of the alley and headed towards training ground 7. After a few minutes of walking they noticed a small box? Behind them, it was patterned to look like a rock of some kind but obviously didn't pass for one. "Hey kid just so you know rocks are never that cube-like." Sakura said. "They also don't have eyes holes cut out of them." Naruto added.

"Dang it they saw through my disguise!" The kid said.

"He knows we can hear him right?" Naruto asked.

Sakura shrugged. "He was doing all of this earlier when we were in Hokage Tower. I think he's got some sorta complex. Who in their right mind talks to themselves like that." The kid popped out from the box and pointed at the two Genin. "Look here I am the great Konohamaru! You will obey me or face the wrath of my power." The box Konohamaru had thrown soared through the air until landing on the head of an approaching boy. "HEY! Who's the wise guy that threw this shit at me huh?!" He wiped the box of revealing an angry face and a symbol for another village. His loudness wasn't enough to get Konohamarus attention though. He marched along in front of the pair eyes closed boasting about his accomplishments as a ninja and how he'd soon be the next Hokage. "Me Konohamaru the greatest warrior to ever walk the earth! I'm the real deal even better than grandpa ever was. Ugh!" He marched right into the angry shinobi's torso, unknowingly confessing to the slight against the other boy. "So it's you huh? I hate punks like you always mouthing off. Why don't you watch where you're going instead, better yet I'll teach you what happens when you try to pull stuff like this." The shinobi said. "Kankuro stop, he isn't gonna like this." The blond girl next to him said. Kankuro picked up Konohamaru and turned to the girl. "Ah I'm just having some fun here I'm sure he won't mind. This village is full of whimps so no one will stop me." He began to choke the small boy. "Wait! You guys are from Suna right? The ninja village in wind country." The blond girl responded. "Oh, yeah we are I guess you're not idiots then." Sakura was about to ask what they were doing in another village out of the blue when Naruto chimed in. "You must be here for the Chūnin Exams then. We'd hate to see you go home in shame for threatening a public figure." He said nonchalantly. "Public figure this kid? You couldn't come up with a better lie?" The blond said. "It's true I'm the grandson of the Third Hokage!" Konohamaru squeaked out still trying to escape. Then out of nowhere three Kunai came down on Kankuro. The all looked up and saw Sasuke staring down at them. "Why don't you get lost loser. You don't want to fight with me." He said cooly from his post in the tree. Kankuro sneered at him. "Why don't talk your shit down here PUNK?" Sasuke, rather than oblige chuckled from his perch. "Hn I'm supposed the punk? Only one of us here is wearing makeup. Poorly too." This has everyone sending glances to the lipstick wearing boy from Suna. Kankuro frantically pointed at his face at all the marks on his face, exclaiming that it was war paint. While the others chuckled at him another set of eyes was watching.

"Cut it out Kankuro. You're an embarrassment to our village.

Higher than Sasuke in the tree a red headed boy was glaring at the other Suna shinobi. "S-sorry Gaara I was just trying to" the boy jumped down and got in the guys face. "Shut up. I should kill you for this!" He walked passed the other two from his village with the girl scrambling to follow him. Kankuro grimaced, dropping Konohamaru and walking away with them shortly after. "Woahh, that guy was intense! Cool!!" Sasuke hopped out of the tree. Once he landed the mysterious red head turned around. "What's your name?" Sasuke thought on the recent and decided to answer. "Sasuke Uchiha." Gaara nodded "I look forward to fighting you the most." Gaara said before once again walking off with his team. Then, when all of that was over,Sakura turned to Konohamaru. "Why don't you lead with your lineage next time huh?! You could definitely get a lot of things out of it, like a quicker way out of that." She demanded. He looked to the floor, face red. " What do you know anyway? I'm glad I didn't get you to train STUPID PINK HAIRED WITCH!" He ran off right after his scarf flapping about. What?! I'm gonna destroy that kid! Before Sakura could act on these thoughts she was stopped by Naruto. "He's not totally wrong Sakura. Having a 'powerful' clan to brag about doesn't mean you should be bragging. I'm sure that kid just wants to be his own person, it can be hard to standout when you're always compared to others." She looked confused but took Sasuke's nodding as the needed confirmation. "Well moving." She started. "Why don't we go see Kakashi about this exam.

Kakashi Hatake was one of many gathered to discuss their decision to approve or deny their students participation in the Chūnin Exams. He and the four other Sensei of this year's rookies stood before the Hokage. "It has finally come. The anual Chūnin Exams are to take place in five days here, in Konoha. This year has a larger than average class of graduates but it remains up to you, their teachers, if they will be participating this time around." The 4th Hokage said. The Jōnin all nodded at this. "Now let's get this out of the way. Starting from the right, Team 13!" Minato announced. "I Kurenai Yuhi give permission to my students Hinata Hyuga, Rio Kaguya, and Yakumo Kurama to participate in the exams." Minato nodded and looks on to the next Jōnin. "Team 12 will not be participating this year Hokage sama." The man said. Minato nodded filling some paper work in response. "Team 11? Will you be participating this year?" The woman next to the previous man stepped forward. "I Kanata Uzumaki grant permission to my students Karin Uzumaki, Kyō Uzumaki, and Kenshin Uzumaki to participate in this year's exams." At this some of the Jōnin were starting to whisper, it had been quite some time since a team had all of its members from the same clan. When you throw in the fact that it was the only recently settled Uzumaki clan then it made even more of an impact. Team ten this years InoShikaCho trio was approved as well as team Eight another team with all the Genin being the same gender. "I shudder think what your training has done for those boys Anko. Now the last of the Rookie teams, Team 7." Kakashi stepped forward. "I Kakashi Hatake permit my students Sakura Haruno, Sasuke Uchiha, and Uzumaki Naruto to enter this year's Chūnin exams." Once again a buzz went around the room. A rookie class so big was one thing, all of them choosing to participate this early was another. Some would call it suicide. The rookies former Sensei Iruka seemed to share that sentiment as his leapt from his area of the room to object this "outrageously brash" choice. "I taught all of these Genin and I can assure you that sending all of them into the test without the necessary experience is far too irresponsible to overlook. More than three villages are attending this years exam we don't want to out a class of so many clan heirs at risk! We can't." He said with certainty. "The problem with your analysis is that you aren't nir have you been for some time, their teacher." Kakashi said after the Chūnin instructors rant. Before an argument could really break out Minato raised a hand. The noise stopped as all attention went back to the village leader. "I understand your concerns Iruka but you must know it isn't your place as a Chūnin and as an academy teacher to be trying to disrupt this process in three exams. To console you, you may test each of the students to see if they truly should be taking these exams, the next exam however will do without your spontaneous rants thank you." Iruka bowed his head in shame. "Apologies Hokage sama. I was just concerned as a teacher."

"No worries Iruka. Now let's see what these rookies are made of."
