Long ago two brothers walked the earth as gods. The eldest and more powerful of the two would go on to become legend bringing two powerful clans into the world. The younger brother who while similar to the elder in ocular prowess and power was set to fade in history leaving two noble clans behind. The descendants of the elder brother brought were distinct in there physical and ocular powers respectively, it is with them the world stepped into a new era of violence not scene ever before. The hatred these two clans shared would spark war for hundreds of years to come. These clans took the names Senju and Uchiha. For the younger brothers legacy the two clans had split up, one choosing to step into the new era of war making a name for themselves with their fighting style enhanced by their eyes. They were known as the Hyūga. The other would choose to stay a more scholarly party, creating a new approach to using the power in their blood. They chose to name themselves after their homeland becoming the Uzumaki.

flash forward to the beginning of the warring clans era

Satomi Uzumaki was what one would call an unfortunate case. She had a different opinion on how her clan should be approaching this new era, violence was everywhere and she felt that now was a perfect time to come out of obscurity. Her word was as good as dirt to the elders as her standing as an heiress brought controversy amongst her kin. In a maelstrom of blood she was an ink blot, her black hair and lack of understanding on her clans more difficult techniques in the way of sealing made her an outcast. It's why she was currently on a ship to go "study" a rumored land of demons. Her father sent her off to escape the pressure but to Satomi it was just proof that she was a failure not worth entertaining.

"Princess, we're approaching land be ready to start the expedition." She heard from the deck. "Yes thank you, Kenzo." It was so bizarre to her. She couldn't help but think of what they expected her to find? Was it some impossible test meant to give way to her banishment? She went to her room and gathered what she would need for the "expedition". She made sure to pack the essentials. Food, water, sealing kit, ink, and scrolls. Once the ship beached shed made her way to the front of her small research group. Including herself there were four members. Tsunoda, a barrier specialist since the rumors of this new land brought the group's safety into question. Satomi's former tutor, Eiji, was there to provide insight on anything the group my find puzzling in this strange land. Something Satomi found odd as he should be as unfamiliar with this place as the rest of them. Finally there was Kenzo, they had studied together and he unlike the rest of the clan agreed with her view on new era. The problem was he had no reason to be here with her gone he could win the clans favor and make real changes. It just didn't make sense.

"Ok, we have a few hours until nightfall we should go and find somewhere to set up camp." She announced heading deeper into the unknown territory. Unlike her island home the land was vast and somewhat barren. It was something deeper though, that Satomi knew for certain. She wasn't gifted the same skills as her clan so she had no way of knowing for sure, but the princess felt like she was being watched."Satomi sama is everything alright?" Kenzo asked in a hushed voice. "You of all people have no need to address me with such formalities Kenzo" said the heiress. "That's funny you used to say that despite your lack of Uzumaki traits you needed to be addressed as the clan's future head."

At this the two shared a laugh. The past seemed so bright looking back but in truth not much had changed for either of them. They were exactly what the clan told them they'd be and now all they could do was be their best versions for the clan. After about three hours of exploration with nothing of interest being found, the group set up camp. Tsunado got to work on a barrier seal while the rest unsealed their tents. This would be Satomi's last peaceful night for when she woke up she found herself in a much stranger place. The land now had no greenery whatsoever and the air stung her throat. The area had been painted red and before her was a tome of sorts. It was unlike anything thing She'd ever seen before, pulsing with dark energy reminiscent of chakra but definitely different. She reached out and that's when the surrounding area exploded in sound screams of all kinds and monstrous sounds swept over her. One voice stood out amongst the others beckoning her to find the book before it was too late. That's when everything went dark.

Satomi had decided that she would find this book and nothing could get in her way. This was an opportunity and with it she would lead the Uzumaki clan to glory. She sealed up her belongings and went to wake Tsunado and drop the barrier. When that was done she informed her party of the strange dream she'd had the previous night. She thought it would be received as a joke but to her shock the rest of her research group excluding Eiji, who kept watch last night, had similar dreams. Satomi's stood out as the others could only hear screaming in Kenzo's case or nothing at all when it came to Tsunado. Neither of them had seen the book. "Let's head deeper south I feel like it's there we may find this demonic tome." She said. "Princess are you sure if this? This could very well be a trick. We still don't know what awaits us out here." Tsunado told her the the fear on his face plain but outweighed by his stubborn certainty."You and the others can use the Adamantine Sealing Chains. If worst comes to worst and your barriers can't help we all know combative fuin justu." Tsunado looked less worried and with a nod from him they all decided to follow Satomi's lead.

After what's seemed like an eternity of walking and trying to use their sensing abilities to find something anything it was made clear that this wasn't going to be the day they found anything. That night Satomi kept watch practice her seals in the dirt as not to waste limited supplies. The moon was full and the sky was open, stars unblocked from view with an absence of clouds, it was peaceful. She turned on her heels and circled the camp. She had no doubt that the barrier would protect them but she wanted to be ready. The moonlight hit some of the rocks they'd been searching through hours before only now a dark red light shot into the sky. Like a beacon calling her over. She exited the barrier carefully so the others wouldn't wake up. She was sure they were safe for now. No one was out here with them. She went over to the rocks and started to seal some of the rocks to quickly move them out of the way. There underneath it all was a chest. From the looks of it she wouldn't even need fuinjutsu to unlock. Further inspection revealed there was no lock at all. Carefully she opened the chest and saw some sort of clan symbol she guessed it was a moon surrounded by strange symbols although it could've been a clock. She looked down and saw it. It was unmistakably most definitely the the book from her dream. She flipped through it's pages and quickly decided to put a decryption seal on the book it would take a few hours so Satomi ventured back to the camp.

Boom . She looked around not sure of what was going on but sensing something there running after her. She sprinted to the camp but decided to instead lead the thing away. She'd heard the rumor on how the demons here like to torture large groups of people rarely leaving a trace of there existence. She wouldn't leave it to chance, her only regret would be that she couldn't get the book to them. With this she was sure she could bring the Uzumaki into the limelight of this new era. Of course that would happen if she died right now. She didn't look back or slow her pace after finding a cave Satomi erected a barrier. "Fuinjutsu: wall of reflection." The beast as she now saw it clearly had no idea what it was getting into its blood red eyes bore into her soul and wanted nothing more than to rip her apart. It swiped long claws at the barrier only far identical ones to come out and slash its face. Growling and roars of frustration were all Satomi would know that night. The beast had wolf like features and hulking form. She had enough chakra to keep chakra to keep the barrier up for the rest of the night. Hopefully it would keep on attacking blindly, the seal only worked on attacks so it could simply walk through and she'd be cornered with nowhere to go. That being said she ran to what she thought would be the day of the cave only to be met with a fork in her path. She could definitely get lost in here but so could the beast. She decided on the left which lead her to a larger tunnel with a slight breeze. She could hear moving water at the bottom of the pit she now faced in the dark she sealed away the book and leapt into what she hoped was deep water.

Satomi was now too far from the seal to keep applying chakra so she was sure the wolf thing was in the cave searching for her. Letting the current carry her out of danger Satomi began to think on her life. What did she really expect to happen after all of this she was so unsure and this book seemed like her only hope. "So you found it then?" What? Satomi looked around but it was too dark to see much of anything. "There's no need to be alarmed. You should be able to understand me thanks to that seal of yours. There's little time so if you want to live follow my every order." In the distance there was a splash, the beast must have found her. "Damn it! It looks like I don't have a choice ya know. Are you going to guide me to land or something or should I wait for death to claim me?" "To your left is a rock, hold on to it then make your way to the cave in front of it. From there you must form a pact with me or you will surely die." The voice told her. She was a little confused but did as instructed once in the cave she took off to what she could make out as light. Finally having found an exit made the girl hopeful. It took a while but she made it out and quickly gathered herself. Dying now would just be silly.

"Alright! So mysterious voice what's this about a pact?" "The book will tell you everything you need to know but you must hurry the guardian approaches!" The voice boomed. "Okay okay jeez, the book, right." Satomi quickly unsealed the book she could understand it now so all she need to do was a knowledge transfer seal. It would take a few minutes but she didn't know if that was too long. So to speed it up she thought of a seal or the idea for one as the seconds past she became more knowledgeable on the book and its contents she decided to do things her own way. She drew up the experimental seal and centered it around the knowledge transfer seal she was currently using and the name of the mysterious voice she now knew to be Kraken."I enter this pack with a few conditions for one I cannot give you my soul but I can promise the lives of those I take to be yours. I can give instead the what essentially makes me who I am. My faults, my personality, my shadow, and a good portion of my chakra. I know what having a pact means for your kind and if this offering is unsatisfactory then this is the last opportunity you'll have for a long time. For I will surely die here." Satomi announced with certainty. She would take the clan to great heights with this new power or she would die she understood and excepted this truth fully. "I know of your intentions I too wish to make a name for myself. Your terms are acceptable. However I too have a condition your line must continue to make these pacts for my kind has gone far too long with out proper entertainment." With that it was done the Uzumaki princess became aware of her surroundings narrowly dodging a claw to the face. The night had one more challenge it seemed.

"Okay let's do this." Satomi charged forward suddenly empowered by the pact and knowledge transfer seal, fighting like she never had before she summoned one of Kraken's tentacles to whip at the beast. She thought on how to work on the fighting style with out so much assistance but that would need to wait."Fuinjutsu: whirling vacuum." The seal spread towards the beast and sucked him into the ground. It snarled at her, trying to break free. It was no use of course, she contemplated giving the book back and ending the creature's hunt here. That left too much to chance though, who knows what may come in the future to claim this guarded secret. Should they succeed any plans she made for the clan could be at risk."Kraken, will this be a worthy first offering?" Satomi asked aloud she'd need to stop that once she got around people again."It's as good as any, let's do this." "PUIM!" The giant demon leapt from the summoned portal and dragged the beast into an whirling inky abyss. Satomi looked to the sky and found herself surprisingly at peace. She'd survived a crazy night and was prepared to bring her clan into the limelight of this new era. She'd make sure she and her family got respect…as soon as she found her way back to the camp. When she finally did it was well into morning."SATOMI! PRINCESS! She's close I can feel it." she heard in the distance. "Kenzo it's been hours I'm not sure what more we can do we have to return today any longer in this place and we'll go mad" Eiji said. "No I can't give up I-I know that she's still alive!" Kenzo exclaimed. Satomi giggled putting him out of his misery sooner rather than later would be best. If he were any louder who knows what sort of demons would be lured to their location. "It's okay Kenzo Im here!" She yelled out. They met up with a hug bitch having ran to their old friend. "Satomi is that really you? We were so worried and there was roaring in the distance we thought the worst." He told her. She went on to explain the events of last night to the research party and what she planned to do with the book and her new abilities.

"Interesting, this "pact" as you call it could explain your new look, princess." Tsunado said. Eiji agreed but mentioned that they shouldn't sit around if things like that we're still running around, guarding old tomes or not the elder Uzumaki didn't want to chance another run in with any demons. They found their way back to the beach and set sail for their island home. Satomi had spent the trip back communing with Kraken on ways to make their teamwork better and incorporate sealing into some of the practices she learned from the book. Magic would take time to master and she wanted to get started now with a more familiar art. She expressed her ideas to her clansmen as practice for when they arrived in home. She knew she had to think of the future above all else so more could use these abilities. It was with the help of Kraken she discovered that she would find the best luck giving her knowledge to someone like her an Uzumaki without natural red hair. They tested it safely in what the book called purgatorio. The red hair showed an the potential use of her clans abilities such as the Adamantine Sealing Chains or the excellent sealing ability Tsunado called "Mind's Eye of Kagura." She personally thought it was a bit silly but it stuck. The point was that in making the pact the way Satomi had all of that would be taken away. She like the rest decided it wasn't worth the sealing of the clans natural abilities to gain strength she thought they could've attained before she found this power. She would have to hope for more like her with out the traditional Uzumaki features so she could lead the next generation to greatness. Upon her arrival in her homeland she noticed the stares she received from her kin. Satomi recalled Tsunado's comment from back in what they decided to call demon country and checked the mirror. All in all she could say she looked the same except for her now black hair and eyes being changed entirely. Obsidian like straight strands of hair were now a spiky red. Her coal black eyes now resembled the color of the book she fought so hard to get, a deep purple. Apart from the eyes she looked like she belonged now and she couldn't bring herself to care. It was absolutely hilarious to her something she'd longed for finally coming to fruition after giving up hope and chasing after a new goal!

From there she went on to do great things as the new clan head. With her weapon Cassiopeia she claimed more territories for her clan and made allies with the Uchiha, Kaguya, and Kurama clans. When her time came she had already taught the ways of the demonic tome to one of her twin daughters and the large amount of Uzumakis who'd been born without red hair in that time. Having kept her word and bringing both fear and honor to the demon, Kraken ended his pact with Satomi and promised to serve her clan again someday. Even with her gone the impact she had on her daughters generation was great enough to make her teachings solidified as clan secrets and traditions. The seal that started the journey would make life easier for her clansmen especially those born with out predetermined gifts.Satomi Uzumaki the revered ancestor of the Uzumaki clan had changed her family's fate for the better, ensuring that all her clansmen could look within themselves for strength even if it came from an wicked external force.
