Transformers One: Siren Epilogue

With the Matrix of Leadership back in the right hands, Primus has returned the flow of Energon in all its abundant magnificence across all of Cybertron.

At the same time, those miners who had been without T-Cogs for so long were finally given ones of their very own from Primus's very own spark. Righting a serious wrong that had been done to them before they'd even opened their eyes for the first time. Turning all of them into the Transformers they were always meant to be, able to reach their fullest potential as Alpha Trion would say.

Those miners who had stood around as bystanders during the fight between Optimus and Megatron were the first to get their T-Cogs and it went further down the line until all of them had one.

And each and every transformer in Iacon owed their freedom and newfound life to Primus's chosen.

Optimus Prime.

To show their profound devotion and loyalty they each took his face on their armor as an emblem, singing his praises and congratulating Optimus on his new position. Those miners who knew him best and the longest were the loudest in lifting their voices regarding his victory.

It's a great victory for all who'd been under Sentinel's influence that they're free of his wrongful rule.

But with great victory comes even greater loss.

Optimus touches the flower image underneath his Autobot symbol in remembrance.

The loss of a unique spark belonging to the heart in the middle of a trio of inseparable three. One that had been happiest with those she loved around her and arbiter of every dispute.

For Optimus, it is something unbearable that he must forever carry in his spark.

Siren's image is before his very eyes and in the coming cycles ahead will continue to do so every minute of every day. In every battle, through every fight, through every subtle strike, through every long, and dark night. And with it comes love, warmth, and most of all flooded with guilt that he hadn't acted sooner. If he had, then Siren would be free and not stuck in an intolerable position where she has no escape. For his error, Siren is the one paying the price. Every time Optimus looks at the scars that he acquired in his first confrontation with Megatron will always be forced to remember that.

And to make sure he does, Optimus added something else to his Autobot insignia. Right underneath is the flower he gave to Siren. Optimus has it there to act as a constant reminder of what he fights for.

But most of all, a way to still link them together.

While Siren is sparkbonded to Megatron, Optimus knows that he and Siren are bound together through their shared courage and kindness. While they may be far apart, they hold each other together now, drawing strength from each other until a brighter future can be reached and they can become as one again when the chance presents itself.

Their paths have changed, averted in different places as a result, and it is up to them to decide which direction each one takes them.

For Megatron, there is only one route for him to take. The one he treads will bring about catastrophe and the eventual ruination of Cybertron guaranteed. His stubbornness refuses to acknowledge that.

Megatron had taken the High Guard to a more volcanic and volatile section of Cybertron's surface where they'd make their home until the day, they retake Iacon and remake it into their own image.

"Sentinel, the betrayer is dead. But his death has given life to a new enemy, a stronger enemy, a personal enemy. We will not be blinded by his deception. We are the ones who are…Decepticons," said Megatron, faceplates ablaze from the surrounding magma, suffused with venom, malice, and distaste, raising his fusion cannon and shooting into the stars. Megatron's misleading self-righteous duty and responsibility push him on. "Rise up!"

"Rise up," chanted the High Guard, now Decepticons, shooting their own weapons into the sky in salute and tribute to their undisputed leader.

Shockwave, Soundwave, and Starscream stood ominously below Megatron, the big three in Megatron's high command, a force to be reckoned with.

All the High Guard now wear the symbol of Megatronus's decal that was administered to them, to symbolize loyalty to their leader and the creation of the Decepticons.

Off to the side is someone whose demeanor doesn't reflect the unscrupulousness, barbarism, and dissolution surrounding them.

The only one who has remained uncorrupted.

Siren had surveyed all of this in her silence from the shadows, her own Decepticon insignia glistening on her plastron.

A symbol Siren had only accepted with the greatest reluctance, knowing there was nothing she could've done to prevent it.

The kind, gentle, and life-loving spark turned into something far more sinister.

Unable to stomach watching this anymore, Siren makes herself scarce. She uses the fact that Megatron is so engrossed in his new followers to do so.

Siren's spark can barely take all this, optics swimming in tears that have yet to fall. She held them back knowing it would've infuriated Megatron if he had seen her cry over his achievements and faction that he is immensely proud of.

Her inner turmoil was so overwhelming, that Siren restrained the tears until she was finally alone to allow them to fall.

Siren had always relied on this mech, so gentle, kindhearted, protective, and trustworthy. Now Siren cannot look at him without seeing him tearing Sentinel in half with blaring red eyes and viciously fighting Optimus to the death. Siren thought back on when she made the choice to bond her spark to his, not once crossing her mind to think it would be perilous. It was plain to Siren now why Megatron had wanted to make sure she'd be by his side. Undoubtedly, she knows that he does love her, but that love has been warped by darkness into sheer possession.

Whereas Optimus had wanted to be with Siren for her spark.

But bonding her spark to Megatron is a decision she couldn't take back. At the time, Siren had believed and trusted what he said and while there's no doubt in her mind, he had intended to keep every single one of them the situation turned so badly that he broke them easily.

The D-16, Siren knew would never have manipulated her like that.

Siren misses those already misses those days of innocence so keenly when there were smiles, fun, laughter, and safety. She longs for it to return badly.

Subconsciously, Siren's fingers trace the flower Optimus had gifted her behind her audio receptor.

The blossom had stayed alive this long, but in this dark and forbidding place, it won't continue to do so for much longer.

Realizing this earlier, Siren had come up with a solution to make sure that the flower would stay with her despite the fact Megatron would never permit her to search for a replacement to carry.

When everyone was being branded with the Decepticon insignia, Siren had something else in mind to add to it.

An image of that exact flower is carved into her armor directly underneath the Decepticon symbol.

Megatron strongly to it, but Siren insisted. She downright wouldn't get the mark otherwise. He despised the idea but knowing that he could not persuade Siren to comply, he relented and let her have this at least when she conveyed this to him. But there had been a grimness to him and a set about Megatron's jaw when he gave the order, showing that he was far from pleased.

The one favor Megatron had granted to Siren in all this madness that she is grateful for which made her not resist when she'd been marked.

For a moment, Siren had held hope at this brief glimpse that D-16 might somehow still be in there. But that quickly vanished with the realization that the real D-16 is never coming back to her.

Nothing will be as it used to be.

Optimus and Megatron will constantly be at odds and divided, with no chance of reconciling.

This recognition had made Siren so reserved, detached, aloof, and withdrawn. She just wants to die and awaken from this terrible nightmare.

But Siren pushes such bleak thoughts away and brings forth ones of much happier times. But Siren does still believe in love. She always will even if it's a moment she'll never have again.

For someone stuck in her kind of situation, it should be difficult for Siren to still believe in love.

Siren must honor the years she had with both. Those brief special moments are the ones she'll hold close and remember. It's the only way that'll remain alive is if she holds them close to her spark. She must never forget what really matters or else she'll truly be lost.

For so long, Siren had always depended on the two mechs and without the three of them together her world has turned upside down. The love she'd held for D-16 had not lessened, but she didn't think she could ever hold or hug him the same way again after all she'd seen him do in this radical transition. D-16's spark has turned black, permanently erasing the D-16 she knew and loved from existence, leaving Megatron in his place. D-16 is gone, leaving Megatron in his place where there is no going back.

Therefore, leaving Siren feeling so lost and vulnerable.

This whole dreadful experience has left Siren bereaved and grieving over the loss of her voice, and the friendship lost between D-16 and Orion. When together they used to be so good and happy and now that they're not Siren just wants to die.

Siren doesn't know how she can bear it by herself, so burdened down by how tense things have become.

All Siren's hopes and dreams are dashed in one fell swoop and what's worse is that Siren no longer has her voice to brighten the outlook and perhaps lead Megatron off the course that has led him astray and appeal to his old better nature.

Inconceivable.

A tear rolled down her cheek as she remembered what Sentinel did to her, a hand absentmindedly traveling to her throat. Singing made her feel alive and free while working down in the mines and now she doesn't even have that.

Surprisingly, Shockwave, alongside being a soldier, was actually a scientist with a medical background. It was thought he could do something to restore Siren's voice, but those thoughts were soon dashed after Shockwave examined her. Megatron's initial suspicions rang true. Siren's voice vocal systems really were too far gone to be sufficiently repaired.

It's enough to bring anyone down to despair.

Siren just wants to get away. To keep on driving back to Iacon and never look back at what's behind. Wanting to be with the one mech that Siren knows loves her with every inch of his very being.

Siren may not be imprisoned, but she may as well be.

Megatron won't let her leave for anything.

The need for Siren to run and be free is so powerful, a rhythm and longing stirring deep inside her soul that needs to be expressed and grant her an escape.

But it's no use. For Siren, there's no getting away from this. Megatron will never relinquish his newfound power nor ever let her leave.

And even if Siren did try to run away she wouldn't get far. Siren is a grounder-based femme and the bulk of the Decepticon army are flyers. They'd manage to catch and bring her back to Megatron easily which would only make her circumstances worse.

Siren can't take that chance no matter how much she desires to.

Essentially, Siren is trapped here with nowhere to turn.

All Siren can do is gaze at the stars above, imagining them as Optimus's face, wondering if he misses her as much as she does him.

As Siren thinks about the future the only thing, she sees with Megatron at the helm is darkness.

The future Siren sees during Megatron's supposed reign is not a good one.

Siren sees a cold wind blowing through. She sees days as neither fun nor free. She sees a future caused by Megatron. She sees a path not meant to be. The future should be filled with magic, dreams, and wishes brought to life. An image of Optimus and Megatron comes to mind with the two of them shaking hands in friendship and alliance instead of confrontation.

Instead, the days ahead are dark and tragic. No time for hope when all is unwanted strife and bloodshed.

Megatron's reign will bring nothing but death and torment to those caught standing in the way of his vision. Whatever might have been, all the dreams that transformers like her shared. Because of Megatron, the future is a cold and awful nightmare.

But amidst all the looming darkness Siren knows is coming she can see a small light burning that can never be quenched. One that Megatron will do everything in his power to see extinguished. But one day that light will shine brightly and two halves of one whole will be brought together again, even if the margin is slim to none and the odds stacked against them, just as they were always meant to be.

That hope is eternal, and it is one Siren must never let go.

Later on, Megatron was staring at the throne that had been constructed in his name, erected for him. Made by devoted Decepticon members.

For a long time, Megatron just stood there looking at it inexpressively.

At one point, Megatron senses someone behind him and turns to see who it is.

Siren.

Megatron watches her in stoic solemnness, waiting for what she has to say to him.

"Was it worth the price," mouthed Siren, sorrowfully, daring to ask the question now that they were in private without any prying eyes.

Megatron doesn't respond, but there's no need for him to do so. His silence toward her inquiry is answered enough for Siren.

Authors Note:

And so we've finally reached the end. What do you guys think?

I really hope they make a sequel. I'm dying to get started on the next one if there is. I don't want Siren's story to end here.

For those of you who mentioned it to me, I just want to clarify. Siren is not Megatron's slave. She is his mate. When she and Megatron made a spark bond she had been willing, but D-16 broke his promises to her. So she's trapped as his mate and stuck with the Decepticons when she wants to be with Optimus.

I hope you all like this one! I certainly did while writing it for your vast enjoyment! ;D

For those of you just starting out with my stuff there are other works on my profile that may catch your interest. I highly recommend you take a look as soon as the opportunity presents itself to you. Who knows, you may be pleasantly surprised by what you discover.

Stay safe everyone. Especially with all of these crazy natural disasters occurring a lot lately due to global warming and climate change everywhere for sure. I swear it's like they're getting worse and worse all the time and it's like officials are simply just ignoring it or pretending it doesn't exist entirely just to go on with their daily lives. Especially those in multi-million dollar companies that rely on certain elements of our planet that we rely on to naturally keep us safe instead of adapting and finding new safer ways to keep in business. There are so many options out there where they can adapt, but they just refuse to see it because all they care about is money. Climate change is altering so much faster than anyone can really keep track of.

So, in light of all this, it is important to live life to the fullest as much as anyone can.

I know I am. ;) See you guys next time.
