The days that followed, Marshmallow used them to heal Olaf as much as he could.
Saying his pain seemed to help his brother, who no longer tossed and turned at night or stared into space for no apparent reason. He was still not the Olaf they knew, but the giant snowman was glad to at least begin to help him recover.
The Snowgies also seemed happy about it, Marshmallow only told them enough for them to understand that Olaf had been hurt, but that seemed to be enough for them to take the initiative and fill Olaf with all the love they felt for they family (and believe him , 148 little ones was a lot of love). Not a day went by without a few of his little brothers jumping on Olaf to just snuggle in his snow, Marshmallow thought it was adorable.
However, they also made sure to keep their distance whenever the occasion called for it. Sometimes Olaf would want to be alone, and Marshmallow had to learn that it wasn't his fault, sometimes people liked to be alone, and despite not understanding it, he respected it for his brother's sake, despite not understanding it most of the time.
That was another thing, neither he nor his little brothers fully understood Olaf. The Snowgies were born with a rebellious snowflake, while Marshmallow was born with the right physique for protection, Olaf was not, Olaf was born with curiosity in his snow, wanting to learn everything his little head could accumulate, Olaf was the... favorite, who was lucky enough to explore with his creator (Marshmallow was NOT jealous at all, his brother would have been happy if it were the other way around) giving him a lot of knowledge, he did not doubt at all that he was the smartest of all.
Maybe that's why he started coming to him with questions. Despite denying it for too long, sometimes small doubts arose in Marshmallow's mind about the outside world, what were the trees outside the mountain like? What was on the road besides snow? What other animal was there besides reindeer? Olaf was more than happy to help, moments when the sparkle in his eyes returned even just a little.
"There are seasons! They're like, when the world gets warmer and the snow melts, like summer!" Ah yes, summer, Marshmallow never forgot his brother's love for summer, the giant snowman never had the chance to see it. "Maybe we could ask Elsa to give you permanent cold, so you could see it!"
Marshmallow's smile disappeared, frowning, though he relaxed when Olaf's smile disappeared as well. Marshmallow didn't like changes, less when they involved humans and even less when they involved Elsa "NOT... NOT SURE"
Olaf smiled again, although this time with a different feeling. A feeling of...understanding? Caring? Something in his charcoal eyes showed how much he loved his big younger brother. Marshmallow felt lucky to have such a wonderful family. "I understand that you're afraid, it's a normal feeling." Afraid? Does he feel afraid? Is that why he never wanted to go out? "You're doing a great job, taking care of us and protecting us, but if you're ever curious, I can help!"
Marshmallow felt something in his chest, something warm, it was such a new sensation that he didn't know how to respond. "Maybe all of us could take a trip! A family trip! There would be so much room to play and so many places to see!" For the first time since he arrived, Olaf smiled as happily as ever. "I will always be there for you."
The warmth spread throughout Marshmallow's snow, and he was surprised by the sincerity of his voice when he said "MAYBE."
