A normal day, nothing else.
The rain poured all over Tokyo, but inside their apartment the four were safe and sound.
Right now, the black Gema Gema gang were watching TV. A very interesting telenovela about a mafia family. The plot was a little confusing but the dramatic editing served its purpose and just made the telenovela dramatic, even when there was no real reason for it to be.
While Coo and Piyoko both eagerly sat on the floor, staring at the TV, Rik and Ky didn't seem to pay much attention.
"Do you think I'll give you hickeys when I do this?" Ky asked as he gave Rik, who snuggled up to him on the couch, a kiss on the cheek.
The vet seemed to be a little confused. "Do you mean like...giving me lipstick stains?"
"No..." The dentist shook his head. "You know, like actual hickeys. On your cheek. I'm always scared when I kiss you...it would make you look less professional..."
Rik now smirked at him. "There's only one way to find out."
"Guys, go get a room or cut it off! Ew!" Coo pretended to gag. Sure, he was happy the two finally got together, but sometimes it was too much. "It's not possible, by the way. So you better not try it out."
"There are kids in this room, pyo!" Piyoko added. She didn't mind their lovey-dovey stuff but she just wanted to add something.
"Hey, weren't you the ones who tried to set us up all the time?" Rik asked, an annoyed look on his face. Then, just to annoy Coo even more, he pulled Ky into a kiss. Piyoko smiled at them and didn't mind while Coo just groaned, trying to focus on the show.
The telenovela ended a moment later and the commercials started playing. They weren't interesting, but definitely better than watching Rik and Ky snuggle and kiss each other on the couch, so Coo kept his head towards the TV's direction.
When a specific commercial started playing, Ky suddenly looked up. "Wait, what? No way."
He seemed to be flabbergasted by something. "Everything alright?" Rik asked, also turning his head towards the TV's direction. Ky seemed to be so shocked about a girl with wavy lavender hair and a orange bunny themed outfit. The vet's expression darkened. "Don't tell me you think she's pretty or something."
"No, she is, but-" Ky covered his mouth for a split second and then spoke up again. "I know her. We go grocery shopping in the same store and I don't know- we just talk sometimes. I had no idea she's on TV!"
"Really, pyo?" The princess thought everyone knew this girl. "That is Akari Usada and she's an idol, pyo!"
"Hold up." Rik now sat up straight. "Usada? Don't tell me she's related to Rabi~En~Rose..."
"Well, I do see similarities..." Coo smirked. "They're both hot stuff!"
The vet now got up from the couch, stretching a little. "I don't like her." He then walked to the window and stared at the rain covering the city in a thin layer of water.
"You're just saying that because I said she's pretty." Ky muttered to him with a soft smile. "You look way better than her, don't worry about it."
"Thank you, honey~" Rik turned back to the others, seeing Coo gag again. "But it's not that...I..." He seemed pretty sad. "I miss Amaenbou."
Piyoko now got mad. "It was for the better, that he died, pyo!"
"You and Coo are the reason he was about to destroy this city in the first place!" Rik whined. He then wiped a tear from his eye. "Excuse me, Pyocola-sama, I didn't mean it like that. Of course, it was very immature of Amaenbou to get so angry just because you and Coo made fun of him...But still? I wish he was here."
Before he could continue, before Coo could add a snarky comment or Ky could call out Coo for that remark and then assure Rik everything would be fine, someone rang on their doorbell. Piyoko got up and picked up the phone. "Who's there, pyo?" She asked with her sweet voice, but the only thing she could hear was a strange voice talking gibberish, like a baby. "Sorry, I don't understand anything, pyo!" When she noticed everyone looking at her, Piyoko covered the microphone. "I don't understand what they want, pyo...They only said...Ama...Ama...Or something, pyo!"
This word rang a bell in Rik's mind. "Could it be?" He walked to the speaker and listened. "Amaenbou, is that you?" He listened again and his eyes widened. "Speak of the devil! We just talked about you! How are you still alive- You know what? Come in." He pressed the button that opened the door and noticed how everyone now gave him a death stare.
"Are you serious?" Ky seemed to be extremely defensive. "He- He'll destroy everything again!"
"And I thought he's dead?" Coo asked, now lying on the floor.
"We only saw him getting ran over, but he then disappeared." The vet facepalmed. "How could I not think about the possibility of Amaenbou still being alive?"
Piyoko was even angrier now. "He won't come in here, pyo!"
Rik groaned. "Fine. I'll just talk to him from here, then." He opened the apartment door and saw Amaenbou looking up at him. Amaenbou immediately jumped into his arms. "Hey! What happened to you?" Rik held Amaenbou in his hands, trying his best not to tear up. He then proceeded to listen to the pink critter's gibberish, nodding at every word. "Makes sense. Amenbou returned to Whatdoiknowovia...He said you kidnapped and enslaved him. What? It's a misunderstanding? Okay, I believe you. Of course you can stay here, I'll just need to convince the others." He opened the door again.
"Guys, can Amaenbou PLEASE stay here?"
Ky wanted to say something, but he then looked at Piyoko and spoke up. "Pyocola-sama should decide."
Piyoko clearly inspected Amaenbou, who was still in Rik's arms, lying in them as if he were a cat. Sometimes he was a really funny guy, or thing, but the fact that he was able to grow to a mountain's height was terrifying. Only one thing that wasn't going according to his plan and he'd already destroy their whole apartment. Maybe he'd do it again if she refuses to let him live with them.
"Pyocola-sama, didn't you want a younger sibling?" Rik bent down slightly and held Amaenbou to her height. "Amaenbou can be your baby brother!"
Coo tilted his head. "I thought I'm her little brother?"
"Coo, you're 5 years older than her." Rik said to him, rolling his eyes.
"But weren't you the one who said I'm her little brother back then!?-"
"Shhh"
Piyoko squinted her eyes. She looked at Coo and Ky, who stared at her with a scared expression, shaking their heads while Rik and Amaenbou seemed pretty sad. The princess looked down and sighed. "I've decided, pyo."
Now everyone seemed eager to know what her decision was.
"Amaenbou..."
...
"He can stay with us, pyo."
Amaenbou made some very happy noises, he even jumped out of Rik's arms to hug Piyoko, who was surprised first but then pat his head. "As long as you're nice to us and don't destroy anything, pyo! We don't have much money, pyo." She looked up at Rik and sat Amaenbou down. Coo flinched at him and hid behind Ky, who seemed pretty disappointed in Piyoko. "Where is he going to sleep, pyo?"
Knowing that Ky would never ever allow Amaenbou to sleep in a bed with him and Rik, the vet thought about another idea. "He can sleep on the couch. It's comfortable!" He obviously knew that because before he and Ky were dating, he slept there. It was specifically a sofa you could sleep on, even if it was from the flea market and only cost like 600 Yen.
"And he can eat our leftovers, too." Coo suggested. "Or my failed cooking! Heh heh."
A little while later, Amaenbou sat on the carpet while Piyoko, Coo and Rik all sat next to him in a circle. Amaenbou kept making some noises while flapping his arms around, as if he were telling a story. More specifically, how he survived the last few months and what he was even doing.
"...Uh huh. He says he stole people's wallets by jumping into their purses since he's so small. Woah, I'm impressed!" Rik translated everything Amaenbou said, very amazed by all the stories he told.
"I always thought you're just a weirdo..." The physician mumbled. "But hey, you're actually super cool!"
"I agree, pyo!" Piyoko cheered. "We need to learn from you, pyo. You should teach us a trick or pyo!"
"Or one time..." The vet carefully listened to Amaenbou's story. "He lived in a bakery for a week. He hid behind shelves and only ate crumbs."
"Woah, you're a little adventurer, pyo!" Piyoko giggled.
Ky sat on the couch, looking into another direction, a bitter expression on his face. "I don't believe him."
"Hey, now, don't be like that." Rik pouted. "If it weren't for Amaenbou back then, I don't even know if we'd be together!"
"Well, we would, because I already planned months prior that I'd confess to you on that day!"
Rik's look softened and a slight blush crept up. "...Really?"
Ky groaned and got up. "Yeah, really. Anyway, I gotta go. The laundry is waiting, it won't get clean itself, will it?"
As he walked out of the room, Amaenbou innocently asked what's up with him.
"Oh, it's alright, my honeybun is just like that sometimes." Rik assured him. Coo laughed at Rik calling Ky his honeybun and got a weird look from Piyoko. "-Anyway, he'll eventually warm up to you, okay? Don't worry about it."
"Are you mad at me?" Was the first thing Rik asked Ky as he got into bed. He didn't know if he was asleep already, but he was facing away from him.
Ky didn't respond at first, but he then turned around and sighed. "...Yeah."
Rik placed his hand on the younger guy's cheek. "I'm sorry. Amaenbou can be...an ass. But I promise, if he does anything that results in hurting anyone here, then we'll kick him out again."
At first, the dentist just scowled at him, but he then placed his hand on Rik's and smiled back, even if it was a fake one. "I hope so. Because if you don't kick him out I'll do it myself, I'm warning you."
Just when Rik was about to say something, they suddenly heard some cries. It didn't sound like Piyoko and it definetly didn't sound like Coo. So it was either something outside or-
"Is that Amaenbou?"
Ky now gave Rik a death stare. "Oh, he really is a baby."
"Don't worry, I'll go to him-" Rik immediately rushed to the living room, picking Amaenbou up, cradling him and asking what's wrong. The pink thing just kept crying, making Piyoko wake up and slam her door shut because this was so annoying. Coo was a heavy sleeper, so he didn't hear it.
It must've been an hour when Amaenbou finally stopped crying and fell asleep. Rik tried to tuck him back to the sofa, but Amaenbou twitched, so Rik had to stay like that. He sat down on the sofa and looked back at his room. "Ky is going to kill me tomorrow..." He sighed, trying to fall asleep. But the position he was in was super uncomfortable and just a small shift could wake Amaenbou up. This was going to be the hell of a night...
Eventually, Rik was able to fall asleep for a while, it was just a low quality nap, though. Coo wole him up because he started laughing out loud. "What are you doing here?"
"I..." The vet let out a fat yawn and then nudged Amaenbou gently to wake him up. "He wouldn't stop crying last night and I didn't know why." His eyes widened when Ky and Piyoko entered the room, too. They didn't look happy.
"Why the heck did Amaenbou cry, pyo?!" The princess inquired angrily. "If he does this again ONE MORE TIME, I'll kick him out, pyo!"
The pink critter clinged onto Rik and babbled something. Rik immediately picked him up again in a defensive manner. "He says he has PTSD from when he got ran over! He had a nightmare!"
Ky suddenly had sympathy with the little guy. He didn't have an easy past, either. To put it short. He also had horrible nightmares every now and then, they gradually started to disappear once he met joined the black Gema Gema Gang, though. "I get what he means..." He muttered. "Amaenbou, it will be fine."
Piyoko didn't understand Ky's sudden change in his demeanor but she understood that it wasn't something she should be angry about. Coo didn't even know what was going on since he slept the night through. "Pyo..." She thought for a moment. "Is there anything we can do so that your...PHD thingy stops, pyo?"
*I raised her well.* Rik thought to himself as he waited for Amaenbou to respond so that he could translate what he was saying. Amaenbou then babbled something and Rik nodded. "He said he doesn't want to sleep alone."
"Fine, he can sleep with us." Ky said, a bit annoyed, but he was trying his best.
Coo made an expression, a mixture of a grin and a confused eyebrow raise. "But won't you two have no more time for.. y'know-"
"WE DIDN'T EVEN DO THAT YET!" The dentist shouted at him before tensing up in embarrassment. He saw how Rik didn't know what was going on, but Piyoko was holding a laugh. "A-Anyway, I'm pretty sure it won't be that much of a problem. He'll just sleep on Rik's side." Amaenbou seemed happy with that agreement and jumped around. Everyone smiled at this, even Ky. "...That reminds me, I haven't checked the mail yet. I'll be right back and then we'll make breakfast."
As he walked out, the vet gave Coo a confused look. "What were you talking about with we have no more time for something?"
"As if you're that oblivious." Coo muttered while Piyoko started laughing.
"I don't think Amaenbou will give us insomnia, he doesn't move around at all when he's sleeping." When Rik said that, Piyoko almost fell from laughing so hard.
"Nevermind." The physician sighed, leaning back a little. *I'm kinda surprised they didn't do THAT yet...Hehe.*
"Shut up everyone!" Ky rushed back into the room, a letter in his hand. "That Murataku guy invited us to something again!"
"So that means food, pyo!" Piyoko cheered.
"Not only that, Pyocola-sama." The dentist opened the letter and gave it to her. "It's not only a barbecue this time, but a whole buffet. We're invited to a gala!"
Coo peeked over his sister's shoulder and quickly rushed through the letter with his eyes. "There's a dress code... What's a dress code?"
Piyoko looked up at Coo in bewilderment. "As if you're that stupid, pyo."
"That's not very nice, Pyocola-sama." Ky scolded her. "Not everyone grew up in the same circumstances as you. Apologize to him this instant."
The princess sighed. "I'm sorry Coo"
"Heh." Coo just smirked at her and then ruffled her hair slightly. "But seriously, what the heck is a dress code?"
"It's not that complicated." Ky tried to explain. "Basically, a dress code is like a rule how you should dress. Since this is a gala, Takuro-san asked to wear fancy clothes. More specifically, warmer colors."
"Anyway..." Rik thought for a second. "I've got a suit that would work with that. And Piyoko has the dress she got for christmas, if we find her a fitting jacket, it should be alright. I don't know about you two, though."
Coo shrugged. He wasn't the type to have formal clothes in his closet but maybe something could be done about it. "We'll just have to improvise, I guess."
"Coo, How about..." Ky turned the stove on. "We go and look for something after we ate?"
The physician shrugged. "Do you think there's clothes in Akihabara?"
"I...doubt that. But we can look."
The two walked through the busy streets of Tokyo's strange shopping district. It was spring, but in Akihabara it felt like midsummer. Coo happily ran around the stores, because for some reason he never thoroughly looked around this place.
"Hopefully we won't run into annoying Di Gi Charat and her henchmen this time." Ky groaned. Every single time they'd been here, the annoying cat girl would be near too and pester everyone. Well, that wasn't a coincidence, since she was working here.
As the physician kept looking around enthusiastically, he suddenly turned to the dentist. "Is it true?"
"What?"
"That you and Rik haven't..."
"Why are you asking me this?" Ky seemed very confused and mad. "I don't get it. You're 15, Coo. FIFTEEN."
"I'm just curious." Coo couldn't help but grin. "I'm a heavy sleeper, so I've never heard anything."
The lieutenant pinched the bridge of his own nose. "We haven't done anything. It's for conceiving children, and we're both boys, so it makes no sense. And even if we'd do it one day, at least let us wait until there's a special occasion, like our anniversary or wedding...And I don't want to traumatize Pyocola-sama because she accidentally walks in on us or something!" He shook his head and then crossed his arms. "When I was your age, I wasn't thinking about these kind of things, you know."
"Yeah, I remember that time!" Coo put his hands behind his head in a relaxed manner. "Like it was yesterday. You were super bitter and petty about everything, and moody, too. And you wore braces and that weird oversized jacket! Hah! I even remember you couldn't stand Rik at first!"
"Right..." Looking back, things were really different. The king and queen of Analogue were always lazy people. It could've even be the case that Piyoko was a mistake, hence they made someone else take care of her when she was around 3 years old. And who could that be? The person with the highest military position at the time, Rik Heisenberg. He was a vet at first, but was turned in when Analogue wanted to attack their sister planet Di Gi Charat. He somehow managed to get the highest position and also managed to be the favorite of the King. Raising Piyoko was not easy, especially not when he also had so much to do. He demanded help. And who would be a great help according to the king and queen of Analogue? A 14 year old dentist who was also currently in a high position, none other than Ky Schweitzer. But the problem was, he didn't get along with Rik at first. Ky honestly didn't even remember why he disliked him in the first place. A few months later, Piyoko's friend Coo Erhard was finally disowned by his parents and Piyoko thought it would be a great idea if he just joined the squad. The rest is history.
"Why and when did you even fall in love with Rik in the first place?"
"That's a better question." Ky actually had to think for a moment before responding. "We've been living together and taking care of Pyocola-sama for a while, so we got to know each other better. We actually got along. I just saw us as some kind of platonic family or friend group until christmas two years ago, where Rik said we're Pyocola-sama's family. When we started seeing each other as her Mom and Dad. Maybe it was just a little crush until then, I realized that I'm actually smitten when...I don't know, around my 18th birthday, maybe? You were already asleep, but we talked a lot. Like a couple. It really started to feel like we are one, even."
Coo was impressed. "That's actually cute. And do you know when Rik caught feelings for you?"
The dentist laughed. "Ah, it's kind of complicated. He told me he saw this Mom and Dad thing as something platonic first, like that we're just her parent figures or something. He doesn't know himself, probably around when we were looking for you at the beach, remember? Or when we started with the cheating allegations."
"What?"
"Nothing. That's our insider."
There was a silence before Ky spoke up again. "Do you like anyone?"
"Nah." The physician seemed a bit bored. "I mean, Rabi~En~Rose is pretty hot, but her personality is ugly. That's all."
"As you should. You're a bit too young for relationships."
"Hey, Ky?"
"Yeah?"
Coo now tried not to burst into laughter. "You and Rik have an age difference of nine years, right?"
"Actually eight years, ten months and thirty days-"
"Yeah yeah, that's almost nine years. And how much age difference do you and Piyoko have?"
"Nine y-" Ky suddenly glared at Coo, who started laughing hysterically. "Hey, it's not the same! I've known Pyocola-sama since she was around five, she's like a daughter to me. I never saw Rik as my parent or brother, plus, we don't know each other since we're little!"
Coo wanted to say something else, but there was a girl who smiled and waved at them. She looked familiar. "Isn't that Akari Usada?"
"Hey! Schweitzer-san!" The girl now walked up to them. "What are you doing here today?" She asked with a sweet smile.
*No way, he knows her for real!* Coo thought to himself.
Ky smiled back nervously. "Hi, Usada-san. We're looking for clothes, because we're attending a gala in two weeks."
"It might just be a coincidence, but are you possibly attending Takuro Kimura's charity event?"
Both boys' eyes lit up. "You're going there too?"
"Yes! He's a friend of mine."
"Speaking of which..." The dentist handed Coo a bag he was carrying. "Why didn't you tell me you're an idol? I saw you on TV yesterday."
Akari looked down. "I'm always so glad when people don't know me, because then they treat me like a normal person. So I didn't want to tell you, I thought that'd be a little selfish. I'm sorry."
"No need to apologize." Ky assured her. "I was just surprised. But then again, I'm not from here anyway."
"Aaa, right. Where did you say you're from?"
"..." Telling her that he was from another planet would be a little weird right now. "...Switzerland."
"That explains your name!" The idol smiled again and looked at Coo. "Oh, sorry, I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm Akari Usada!"
Coo was a little flustered that such a pretty girl was talking to him, even if she was a little older, he still found her super cute. "C-Coo...Coo Erhard..."
"Nice to meet you, Coo. Anyway, I've got to go now, we'll see each other again!" Just as quick as she appeared, Akari disappeared again.
Coo stared at Ky. "You owe me an explanation! Where the heck do you find so hot girls?"
"At the grocery store-"
"Nyo Nyo Nyo...Look who's there, nyo!" That scratchy yet girly voice was immediately recognizable. Dejiko. She wasn't alone, Puchiko and Gema were with her. The trio rushed to the two. "Did you just talk to THE Akari Usada, nyo?!" As Ky nodded reluctantly, Dejiko was about to lose it. "How?! How do you know her, nyo?! I'm like her BIGGEST fan, nyo! She's amazing, nyo!"
"Well-" The dentist looked a bit annoyed. "I didn't know she's an idol. I know her because she goes shopping at the same grocery store as me..."
The catgirl now shook him slightly. "WHAT GROCERY STORE ARE YOU GOING TO, NYO? ON WHAT DAY OF THE WEEK, NYO? AND AT WHAT TIME, NYO?"
Coo stepped up. "Ain't no way we're gonna tell you lil' fella."
The other princess wasn't happy with that and her eyes stung. "Mekara BEA-"
Before she could shoot her eye beam, Gema pulled her away. "GEMA! Dejiko, stop being such a brat, gema! Stalking a popular young idol is not very princess of you, gema!"
Puchiko also decided to lecture her. "Dejiko, we're here to find fancy clothes for the event, not to attack others, nyu."
Ky crossed his arms. If Murataku hosted an event, Puchiko would obviously be there, too. And she'd probably only go if Dejiko and Gema would be invited as well. "Guys, don't get mad, but we're also going there."
"We know." The holy trio all said at the same time.
"He invited pretty much everyone he knows, nyo! It's a charity event or something, nyo."
"So there'll be a lot of people, huh?" Coo thought out loud. He then smiled dreamily. "There will be probably a bunch of cute girls~!"
Dejiko reciprocated the physician's smile. "Akari-sama will be there and she's a cute girl, nyo!"
"Coo, I already told you you're too young to think about this." Ky grabbed his wrist. "We're going now!"
As the two guys walked away, Dejiko could only pout. "Why do they always get to meet the cool people, nyo?"
"Maybe we should just go grocery shopping more often, nyu." Puchiko suggested.
"Dejiko!" Gema floated up to her. "We have to find outfits too, gema! You don't want the black gema gema gang to look better than us, do you, gema?"
These two weeks passed by relatively quickly. The four found good outfits and were all getting ready for the evening right now. Ky was currently helping out Rik with his tie. "Are you excited, too?" He asked him.
"I just hope there will be something to eat. Who knows? Since it's a charity event, Murataku will probably give us a ton of leftovers again!" Rik looked around. "Oh, I haven't asked him if it's alright if Amaenbou can come with us... Speaking of him, where is he?" The veterinarian walked off, looking for the pink guy.
As he did that, the dentist sighed. "We have to hurry up, the gala is starting soon. I'll look if the kids are ready yet."
Piyoko and Coo both seemed to be ready already, but right now they were having a fight. Coo held up some kind of panda-hairpin from Piyoko, he held it up so high she couldn't reach it. "Give it BACK, pyo!"
"Nuh uh!"
"Yuh uh!"
"Go and grow up first so you can reach it you dwarf"
All of sudden, Ky snatched the hairpin from the major and put it back onto Piyoko's hair. "There, Pyocola-sama. If Coo bothers you again, just punch him."
"HEY, you're promoting domestic violence!"
"Then don't do it again!" Ky replied sweetly. "Anyway, stop fighting, you two. We have to go now."
But then Rik came in the room, a little concerned. "Guys, I don't know where Amaenbou is. Can you go without me? I'll be right there. The location is nearby, anyway."
Ky knew it was suspicious of the pink critter to disappear, but he decided to not stir up any drama now. "Yeah, we will. Be safe, sweetie." Before they left the apartment, the lieutenant gave his partner a kiss on the cheek and then they made their way to the gala.
The place the gala was held at was a building, probably some kind of town hall or something. To book this place must've been super expensive, but then again, Murataku- or at least his family- was super loaded.
"Remember to not cause any trouble!" Ky instructed the kids before opening the door, scanning the crowd.
There were fairly many people and Murataku could be spotted easily again. He had his hair down this time and wore a white suit. The three walked up to him and he smiled immediately. "Good evening! Nice to see you've made it-" Murataku quickly noticed someone was missing. "Where's Rik?"
"Oh, you know." Ky started. "We had a baby recently but he got lost, so Rik is looking for him."
"Wait, you WHAT?" The host seemed flabbergasted. "Aren't you both male- How? When?"
The dentist facepalmed. "Sorry, I meant we adopted a baby." It was a little too risky to tell Murataku they adopted Amaenbou, who literally tried to destroy Tokyo a few months prior. He then realized Amaenbou would not be allowed in here, either, so Rik would probably have to smuggle him in somehow. "But- Well, thank you for inviting us!"
"Yeah, I've never been to a gala before." Coo remarked. "I gotta say, I used to dislike fancy doings, but it's gonna be fun, right?"
Piyoko didn't care about anything except for one thing. "Where's Onei-chan?"
"I knew you'd ask that." Murataku responded, an amused look on his face. "Dejiko is with the other kids, they should be near the garden door."
The princess grabbed Coo's wrist and rushed to find the kids.
Dejiko, Puchiko, Gema, Rabi~En~Rose, Minataku and Kiyoshi were all sitting at a table, probably for children exclusively. The greennette noticed the siblings and waved at them. "Hey, nyo! It was about time you arrive, nyo!"
"Onei-chaaaan!" Piyoko grinned at her. "I honestly don't remember the last time I've been to a gala, pyo."
Coo rolled his eyes. "I don't remember being at a gala at all!" He thought for a moment. "But, it's my second time I'm at one of Murataku's parties. He's like the Jackson Wang of Akihabara!"
Kiyoshi smiled warmly. "It's my first gala, too."
Minataku didn't see that as anything special. "Huh, it's probably like my 100th gala by now."
"Mou, Dejiko..." Rabi~En~Rose turned to her. "Tonight I'll prove to you that Akari-neesama is my cousin, for real!"
"I think it's obvious, gema." Gema pointed out.
Puchiko shrugged. "Just because they have the same last name it doesn't mean they're related, nyu."
"HELLO EVERYNYAN!" Suddenly, someone almost threw the table away by their sudden arrival. "Did ya miss your favorite American boy?"
"RODOYAN!" Dejiko's expression lit up, her eyes literally glowed out of happiness, she straight up tackled him. "What are you doing here, nyo?!"
"Now now..." Rodoyan giggled, hugging her a little. "You won't believe why I'm here! I'm..." He paused for a second. "...Akari's producer!"
Seeing how well Dejiko suddenly got along with Rodoyan now was a wonder. Maybe she just grew up a little, because she'd usually be super annoyed by him, but now she was acting like he was her best friend.
Rabi~En~Rose was weirded out before, but now she seemed to be excited. "Does it mean Akari-neesama is already here?"
"Yeah, she is! Just don't pester her too much with any qu-"
"SHE'S MY COUSIN!"
"And? She's still a celebrity!" The american pouted. "You don't know how many fucking paparazzi were trying to get in here!"
While the kids were all just hanging around, Ky awkwardly just stood near Murataku and his fanclub. He was telling a random story to them right now.
"Wait, you guys remember my ex girlfriend, right? The one that claimed she's fluent in eight languages? Well, she..." He stopped and looked into a certain direction, the fanclub doing the same thing just a split second later. "Look who's there!"
It was Akari. "Sorry I'm late." She muttered nervously.
"No problem, I'm just glad you were able to come at all!" Murataku greeted her, hearing surprised gasps and seeing confused looks from his fanclub, then he shook his head. "Have I forgot to tell you that Akari-chan is a friend of mine? Well, now you know."
"Maybe because..." Yasushi, holding a glass of wine chimed in. "You didn't tell us on purpose since you knew that the paparazzi are going to annoy you with that, right? For short, Gatekeeping-"
"Shut up." The host interrupted him. "And stop having to abbreviate everything you say, you're the reason the japanese language is dying out!"
"But talking like you do is a waste of time!"
"You're a waste of time!"
Now the two were fighting about language. Ky was in a helpless situation, scanning the walls for a clock, hoping that at least Rik would finally come here.
"It's silly, isn't it?" Akari now stood beside the dentist, giggling.
His eyes lit up slightly l, but he nodded. "Yeah. I know almost no one here."
"Me too." The idol sighed. "But hey, it's an opportunity to meet new people!" The way she said it, Ky thought, had a weird undertone to it.
Then, another woman approached Akari. "Usada-san, remember to not give any interviews."
The idol smiled reassuringly and shook her head. "I won't. Don't be worried."
The woman disappeared somewhere as quickly as she appeared. "That's my manager." Akari explained. "She's a little uptight. She should relax."
"I heard it was hard getting you here without all the paparazzi following you..." Ky remarked.
"Well, I'm only here to catch up with Kimura-san. I haven't seen him in a while, you know! I was scared my management won't let me attend this gala at all because of my schedule."
"Haaa..." Ky was secretly jealous. He never had anything to do... except for doing the laundry. Not that it wasn't fun, but he wished he had a more structured schedule. "It's good to see you were able to come, though!"
"You never know." Akari blushed slightly. "Maybe I'll meet someone special."
"At a charity gala?"
"Oh, sorry, did I say that out loud...?" The idol was so embarrassed she covered her mouth.
Ky found that a little strange. "Don't worry about it!" He replied with a fake smile, even though he found the gala more and more uncanny with every second. And Yasushi also gave him a weird look sometimes. He thought about finding someone else to talk to, not because of Akari, but because Murataku and his huge fanclub were tiring him at this point.
In this moment, someone ran up to him. "Ky! Dejiko keeps saying that -" Piyoko clinged herself onto the lieutenant and got quiet when she saw Akari standing next to him.
"Aww, who's this?" The idol looked down at her.
"My daughter." Ky replied proudly and then looked a little uneasy. "I mean- she's not my ACTUAL daughter, but I'm taking care of her. So it feels like she's my kid! Speaking of kids, where's my other kid?"
Coo suddenly stood next to them. "I'm here."
"Gosh, don't scare me like that."
While Akari saw Ky talking to his 'kids', a question popped up in her head. "Hey, how come you never mentioned that you're taking care of two kids?"
"I guess it was never relevant to what we were talking about, I guess!" Ky explained nervously.
Piyoko now tackled him. "I'm ALWAYS necessary, pyo!"
"Hey, I found him." Rik said, wherever he just came from.
Ky immediately smiled at him. "Hey, Rik."
Now Murataku noticed the vet's presence as well. "Did you find your baby? Where is it now?"
Rik quickly tensed up. "Oh, er, I found a babysitter for him, don't worry." He lied because they weren't sure if Murataku would be fine with Amaenbou being here, so he let him at home. He found Amaenbou asleep behind one of their shelves, for some reason. Then, he gave Ky a small peck on the cheek. "Is everything alright?"
"Yes..." Ky blushed, giggling a little. "Coo didn't cause any trouble."
"I NEVER CAUSE TROUBLE!"
Ky and Rik both glared at Coo and said "Shut up" at the same time. Then, Coo rolled his eyes and grabbed Piyoko to go back to the other kids with her.
Then, the dentist completely forgot that Akari was with them, too. She looked as if she had a million questions, so he thought it would be a good idea to introduce Rik to her. "Oh, I guess I forgot to tell you about Rik, too."
"Nice to meet you..." The idol responded weakly, as if she was hurt. But why would she be hurt? It wasn't too weird that Ky told her about it just now, because he'd only see her like once a week and only have a little chitchat with her at the grocery store.
"Look, there's the best cousin in the world!" Rabi~En~Rose now rushed the idol and hugged her. "Akari-neesama!"
"Oh, Hikaru!" Akari's worries seemed to disappear when the girl hugged her, reciprocating the embrace. "Oh, I missed you so much."
Behind them, Dejiko, Rodoyan, Piyoko and Minataku stared at them with a bewildered, flabbergasted and shocked expression, while Gema, Puchiko, Coo and Kiyoshi just looked normal. "I..." Piyoko stuttered. "I THOUGHT SHE WAS JOKING, PYO!"
"That was so obvious, nyu." Puchiko replied, as cold as ever. "You all just can't count one plus one together, nyu. They literally share a last name, nyu."
"Now..." Akari let go of the younger rabbit girl and turned to the couple. "What exactly is there between the two of you?"
Rik giggled before replying. "Your mother."
Before anyone could respond, a short, plump woman with lavender curly hair made her way to the idol. "Excuse me..." She muttered, making her way through the kids, who now seemed to have a fight.
"Mom!" Akari exclaimed, a bit confused about how Rik literally just predicted her actual Mother being here. But Rik seemed to be bewildered as well.
Just then, Piyoko pulled on Rik's jacket, tears in her eyes. "Rik... Puchiko bit me, pyo!"
"Come here." The dentist picked the princess up and pat her head. "Where did she bite you?"
"On my arm, pyo."
Rik turned to Murataku, who seemed to scold Minataku about something right now. "Hey! Your kid bit mine!"
"Huh?" The blonde tilted his head and blinked.
"Puchiko bit Piyoko!"
"She only bites when it's necessary!" Murataku now looked at Puchiko with an amused smile. "Puchiko-chan, did you bite Pyocola-chan?"
The little catgirl nodded. "She's annoying me, nyu."
"Puchiko-chan, next time someone's mean to you, don't bite them, but..." He picked her up. "Shoot them with your eye beam!"
"This is getting ridiculous..." Rik just sighed.
The squad decided to keep up with the craziness of this event. At around midnight, Murataku announced how much money was donated to keep a local children's hospital open and they reached their goal. Yada Yada, that was super boring, Coo and Piyoko even fell asleep.
"It's getting late." Ky remarked, gently taking Piyoko in his arms. "We should go home."
"Yeah, we should." Rik agreed, picking Coo up.
Murataku just came back from the stage and noticed how they were about to leave. "Aaa, going already?"
"Well, yes." The vet nodded. "The most interesting parts are over, right?"
"No, the most interesting parts just began!" The blonde said happily. "Just take a look."
Yasushi was already completely drunk, Gema and Dejiko had a huge fight, Puchiko did absolutely nothing but watch while Rodoyan was cheering for them. Some other guests also did questionable things, for example a girl with short red hair was trying to declare her love to a literal mermaid on a skateboard while the redhead's friend was supposed to hold up cards so she wouldn't forget her text but she fell asleep. Another girl stood in a corner and creepily stared at everyone, while Minataku walked around with a camera, taking as many pictures of everyone as he could but for some reason a blonde very fancily dressed person, no one knew if they were a boy or a girl, thought he was taking pictures of them and always striked elegant poses. Kiyoshi told Rabi~En~Rose a story about how he was named after a robot his brother built three years prior, but the bunny girl could only admire the look on his face when he told her that. Akari also drank herself half blind. And Abarenbou was trying to make a rather suggestive dance on stage but got pulled away by security. The only wholesome thing currently was the old couple that ran a bakery dancing together.
"...Not very positive, don't you agree?" Ky asked, a little tired. "But tell us if something REALLY interesting happens, I kinda wanna know."
"I will."
"Hey, Murataku, nyo!" Dejiko called from somewhere. "Can you ask a waiter to bring me another plate of bologna, nyo?"
Murataku tried his best not to screech at her and then just put on a fake smile. "Go get rid of your verbal tic first, young lady."
Rik stepped out of the scene quickly, gesturing Ky to follow him. "Let's get away from here before this place catches fire..."
"Hey, wait!" The blonde ran up to them. "I bet you want some leftovers again. Don't be worried, my waiters will bring them to you in a moment!"
The pair quickly escorted the kids in their car before thanking Murataku for like an hour and then carried all the food they got inside.
"Honey?" As Rik turned the car on, he seemed a bit worried. "What was that with you and Akari?"
"What do you mean?" Ky asked.
"She looked so sad when she realized we're a couple."
The dentist cleared his throat. "Well, I have to be honest. She is really pretty, but it doesn't mean I like her. She may have a thing for me, though, I don't know. But it feels like she likes every boy she knows! Honestly, Akari-san only has boys on her mind. Such wasted thoughts."
"Wait, what?" Piyoko now woke up.
"She was only looking at guys...And she kept saying she hopefully meets someone here. At a CHARITY EVENT." Ky was about to lose it. "And she was looking at me all the time!"
Coo also woke up now. "Weren't you talking to her all the time? Sorry to break it to you, but that's how a conversation works, Ky."
"I didn't mean it like that!"
"But is she like, your type?" Rik now inquired.
Ky shook his head. "Not really. I haven't thought about who my in women type is, not even for men, either. What kind of women do you like, though?"
Rik thought for a second and then smirked. "Your mother."
"Not funny"
"No, seriously! I never met her, but she looked really good on the pictures."
Ky sighed while Coo laughed his ass off and Piyoko was just confused. This was by far one of the strangest days ever.
When the four arrived home, they quickly ran inside. Ky turned to the elevator door. "I'm actually so tired, I'd volunteer to take the elevator now."
"Wait, really?" Coo and Rik asked at the same time. Then, Coo turned to Piyoko. "And what about you?"
The princess looked at the elevator. "I haven't heard of any incidents lately, pyo. So... Why not?"
Rik pressed the button that'd open the elevator door. "That's great! We should give it a try." He noticed someone else was leaving the elevator when it opened and looked down. "Amaenbou?"
The pink thing tensed up. He had a bag in his small hands. A bag full of money. The money the gang saved for emergencies.
"I knew there was something off!" Ky pointed at him. "Give it ba-"
But then Amaenbou ran off. Coo started to chase after him and they both ran outside.
"Pyocola-sama..." Rik picked her up. "You should use your upchuck bazooka! Now!"
The princess nodded, but when she was about to fire it, Coo already caught Amaenbou.
"What the fuck's wrong with you?!" He asked angrily, choking the critter. "Give it back, you jackass." And then he took the bag out of his hands himself. "What else did you steal, huh?"
Amaenbou just shook his head frantically, pointing out he didn't steal anything else.
Rik let Piyoko down and walked up to Coo. "I'm sorry. I should've known he'd do this."
Suddenly, an old lady, who lived somewhere around the sixth floor, ran up to Coo as well and took Amaenbou out of his hands. "Oh, Edward! What are you doing here? What are they doing with you?"
"I'm sorry, but this must be a mistake." Ky spoke up. "This is Amaenbou..."
"No, I recognize my Eddy when I see him!" The lady squished the pink guy, who definitely was Amaenbou, against her cheek. "He'd been gone missing for two weeks already!"
Ky, Rik, Coo and Piyoko stared at each other. Piyoko whispered. "Didn't Amaenbou come to us two weeks ago, pyo?"
"He did." Coo whispered back. He then cleared his throat. "Excuse me, miss, since when does your...Edward live with you?"
"Oh, since early January. My husband accidentally ran him over and we then took him home. He's like our own child!"
"IT'S AMAENBOU, THEN!" The squad all exclaimed.
"He's the one who almost destroyed this place on new year's eve, pyo!"
"He's nothing but an asshole." Rik now said. Amaenbou betrayed them so much even Rik hated him now. "So, I'm really sorry, but you should get rid of him."
"Wh-"
Coo grabbed Amaenbou out of the lady's hand. He then ran over to a tram that was currently halting at a stop and set him inside, then, the tram departed again. "I'm sorry. You'll thank me later!"
While the lady just stared at where the tram just was in horror, the squad quickly disappeared. "This day was a fever dream." Ky sighed.
Coo smirked. "But hey, you've gotta admit, it was fun."
