Hey once more

A different type of idea involving Richard Castle that you'll just have to see. I'm thanking HRwriter897 for helping with bouncing ideas around.

12th Precinct, during the night

Richard and Kate are near her desk, while Ryan and Esposito exit the Captain's office, seeing Matt Monroe alongside FBI operative Vikram Singh heading towards the elevator.

"So, this guy has connections to the Triad from his trips to Asia and was involved in murdering Wallace Williger yet is walking out," Kevin says.

"Yeah, because we can't physically tie him to the crime itself or drug running given Singh pulls some garbage about witness" Javier notes.

"Not with his FBI buddy around, I dislike those guys more than the Westies dislike the Kings" Kevin notes.

"I might know a guy who can help," Richard says.

Looking over "When don't you know a guy?" Kate inquiries teasingly of her husband.

"My childhood," Richard says.

"Oh, you mean you grew up?" Javier asks jokingly.

"I'll remember that the next time you want to borrow the Ferrari" Richard replies grinning.

"That's just cruel man," Javier says.

"If you are unable to handle the pressure man, maybe shouldn't be cooking," Kevin says.

"Guessing your guy perhaps would be in red. Need any backup?" Kate inquires quietly.

"Perhaps. After all, a massive warehouse with a bunch of boxes even with a shipping manifest? Be looking for some time" Richard says.

"What if Monroe or Singh show up?" Javier inquiries.

"I'll appeal to their humanity" Richard replies darkly.

Javier uneasily shifts on his feet alongside Kevin given how there can still be times when both get like a bucket of ice-cold water dumped over them. Much like marching through freezing rain in boot camp. After Kate was shot at the funeral, refused contact with any of them for four months, which yeah even despite all his understanding, didn't mean liked being ignored any less.

But that was years back, however, just one of the main events that caused a change in Castle. The other was Gates showing up a mere handful of weeks following Kate being shot to claim they had no leads; it was a waste of departmental resources alongside closing out the entire case. Bans any of them from touching it, and in the same breath kicks Castle out.

That really irked him for not gaining Gates an ounce of loyalty, one of their own gets shot while at a Captain's funeral and dismisses Castle who earned his right to be one of them, regardless of any personal issues they might have. Of course, later learned how Gates was in Bracken's list made a lot of sense. Besides spotted public appearances for Heat Rises novel Castle had vanished. Only vigilante reports over those months operating in NYC began.

Stories mentioning a person in red body armor using his fists, knives, and a sword. Various muggers, possible rapists, pedophiles, drug dealers, or even business individuals involved in human trafficking like Eric Vaughan ended up hospitalized with broken bones, or dead.

Although killing was a last resort outside of certain individuals like 3XK yet that's a different topic, Javier notes. Back on point, the vigilante has clear skill given the various armed enemies this guy faced, former black ops from men or women that would give him a hard time, Esposito notes uneasily, got beat down.

When Beckett finally returned well whatever conversation went down between them, Castle did too. Yet something seemed different about how his friend carried himself more like a soldier, darkness in his eyes, hands a bit bruised but just brushed it off on the past year catching up. For the bruises of Castle gave a reason for having been learning to fight which made sense. Yet it wasn't very shortly after that the truth did come out, something never saw coming. In Castle is the vigilante now called Lone Vengeance.

If that wasn't a surprise enough, it was certain information from what Castle explained. Years ago, after Kyra Blaine broke up by leaving the country, and just didn't call it one despite having no contact, which even ticks him off. Sure, Esposito notes is he might like to play the field but however long a hook-up or relationship lasts is always lets her know. Not just an ice-cold extraction.

Returning to the topic, seriously been spending way too long around the writer boy, Castle feeling adrift joined the Army, alongside Robert Weldon, and Roy Montgomery. Only Castle ended up in Delta Force in the Gulf War before disappearing into the depths of The Company, aka CIA.

Esposito remembers feeling a shutter, alongside Beckett and Ryan over Castle revealing of joining Special Activities Center, a part of the Special Operations Group for paramilitary actions. The wet work units that don't officially exist Javi recalls explaining when Kevin inquired how serious Castle's past is.

And learning why none of the military records ever showed is it's buried under Richard Rogers, not his current legal name, plus what The Company helped disguise. Only Castle left after Alexis was born. Javier recalls how Beckett mentioned made a lot more sense for why the mayor and Montgomery let some writer follow her around given the men's shared, secret past.

Regarding why Castle is even suited up as a vigilante, and every bit of brutal given they have spared together. Yeah, Javier grimaces recalling when Castle's remaining restrained regardless ends up getting his backside handed to him. Is Castle just became worn down after everything and realized going about it with exposed public identities clearly wasn't working.

Upon all this information Beckett had asked, no more like ordered, them to step outside of the base where Castle had set things up. Yet rather not know any details since upon emerging twenty minutes later Castle and Beckett looked a separate kind of heated, and clothes rumpled. Well, Javier notes at least they stopped dancing around one another, goodness that began getting old.

At work, normal NYPD stuff didn't change that much, Castle still had his crazy theories every once, and a while. But an understanding between all of them now, where Castle did let his more experienced knowledge shine. Personally, between the two men, they don't talk about it much yet still have a bond of having served.

Only a voice pulls Esposito from his musings.

"Just be careful," Kate says.

"Always" Castle replies, grinning at his wife.

Beckett watches her husband head for the elevators, adoration in her eyes, face, and entire body. One has long since stopped bothering to hide, a few years prior even before marriage. Brought out of her thoughts by a cell phone, Beckett answers then after a moment hangs up.

"Let me guess another body? We are not even done with this case" Javier says.

"Guess the downside of a good closing record. Does dispatch realize there are other people than just us right? I had a date night planned" Kevin mutters.

"It's some address in Queens, a home burglary gone wrong. You guys go check it out" Kate replies yet does agree with her friends. After all, now upon having a life beyond work the feeling of endless cases at times, can understand how it's not very pleasing.

Bedroom

Entering Vikram Singh, flipping a light switch up finds that the power is off, which is annoying given must be a problem with the breaker box yet again. Really didn't want to deal with this from merely desiring to come home following the stress of getting useless Monroe from being investigated by that annoying homicide team and ordering himself some prostitute for relaxation.

However, Vikram receives a fist into a portion of his midsection taking the wind entirely from his lungs while being shoved into the wall. Fearfully Singh realizes it is Lone Vengeance there, his red demon-like mask containing bleak white eyes.

"I know what you are, and your crimes. You will go to the 12th police station and confess to everything. If you don't, I'll know then when I come back well, I might decide to shut you down instead of your lights" Richard growls using a voice modulator "Understand?"

"I'm FBI, we don't have to answer to the ungrateful so-called American public. We only answer to" Vikram snarls yet gets cut off.

Because the vigilante leans out grabbing a few of the man's fingers, and twisting until hearing loud snapping sounds, not caring if they are permanently damaged. Letting Singh fall to the floor crying Richard steps on the man's already broken digits causing him to howl.

"You are a corrupt scum bag that dishonors everything about your life, and innocent people get hurt from Opium you help smuggle into this country" Richard growls "Go to the 12th, or the local FBI office and ask for Jordan Shaw, or Emmett Forrest. Now."

Having closed his eyes in fear Vikram opens them realizing is all alone.

Inside a warehouse

Lone Vengeance kicks one thug in his left kneecap breaking it while dodging a punch from another using a baseball bat, and proceeding to slice across that man's chest sending them both to the ground in agony. Looking around at the various nineteen goons laying around, some either still awake or out cold but all having broken bones. Hearing a hammer click with police sirens getting nearer Richard looks over seeing Matt Monroe holding a revolver.

"I called the cops while you were fighting my men. You are going to prison for a long time on breaking and entering, assault charges to Mr. Vengeance" Matt says mockingly "I'm nothing but an honest businessman."

Richard puts the sword back in its sheath on his back while quietly walking forward to Monroe who takes off running towards the loading bay doors, in a mix of fear and confidence. Opening the doors Monroe looks on in satisfaction when seeing Beckett, Ryan, and Esposito approaching forward and quickly drawing their weapons.

"Put your weapon down, slime ball," Kevin says.

"Get on the ground or I might just decide to shoot your kneecaps," Javier says.

"Weapon down. Now" Kate says icily, and to avoid rolling her eyes at the boy's antics. Cause, honestly outdo each other when taking somebody down, seriously? Yet doesn't surprise her in the least.

"No, you misunderstand, you've got the wrong guy. The vigilante is in there, he took down my men, I called the NYPD in defense of my rights" Monroe says in outrage.

"Get on the ground, your buddy Singh already confessed to the FBI who called us," Kate says, "It's over."

Monroe ways his options, glancing back at the doors seeing the red-suited figure, standing there quietly causing the drug dealer to gently set his weapon on the ground, before raising his hands.

"You're costing me a good game tonight, and a nice beer. Maybe a hot woman too, so get in the car" Javier says.

While Esposito and Ryan lead Monroe to their car, Kate looks back noticing the vigilante having disappeared. A small smile forms as told and shown quite thoroughly the suit her husband wears, Kate notes having a warm, hot blush for how hot it is. And not just the suit but given the amount of toned muscle certainly doesn't obstruct any further lust either.

Yeah, Kate knows sue her, and could pay it off too, given the joint account, not that she has ever really thought about Castle's money yet has gotten a bit more used to it over the years. Just for clothes, hotel rooms, and such, or police-related stuff. Back to Castle, not that she ever stops thinking about Rick.

Even before getting together for a relationship their connection of solving cases as it felt like one individual at times, changed how she thought in regards to approaching cases.

And remembers upon learning that Rick was the Lone Vengeance how put a fear into her bones, even with knowing of his skill set. How easily could lose him because what Castle is doing in a way is more dangerous than even being a cop for could go to prison.

Not that, and Kate suppresses a shutter if he did get arrested, already knows would break him out. Would go on the run with him to some foreign country if it ever came to that. But is so proud given just the type of good man that her husband is.

A caring, love, and warmth that Castle has for humanity in general, let alone Alexis, Martha, or her most of all, next to their friends. A sense of belonging with care for loving her, Kate smiles not in spite of but because of her flaws. Just as she has chosen to do the same for him in return. Yet gets brought out of her musings by a voice.

"Yo Beckett quit daydreaming and let's get moving," Javier says.

Having a light blush at being caught, dang it Castle, Kate walks back to her vehicle.

Still thinking of her vigilante husband, her thoughts drift to tonight's earlier mystery. When Ryan, Esposito with some officers found the man who committed the burglary turned homicide, in a warehouse hanging upside down yet still alive.

A mystery on its own, on only even stranger? The murder of one Ben Parker was suspended by spider webs. Not for the first time, wonders what on earth is going on with her city or life.

Hope you all enjoyed this fun AU idea.

Yeah, I have Castle as Lone Vengeance upon seeing the idea for Kate Beckett as LV only flipping the script.

Decided to expand on Richard's past, given we know very little about how, why, or when he got directly involved with the CIA. Sure Castle claims it was for book research, and maybe a part of that is true, but Richard can be extremely catchy about his past.

Now was Castle involved in on-the-ground paramilitary operations, eh creative liberties alongside his military history. Same thing for Castle's past with Robert Weldon, and Roy Montgomery I kind of always got the impression that there was something else behind why Richard became friends with the mayor.

Yeah, I took petty joy in having Eric Vaughan and Vikram Singh be villains given the horrible storylines they were in.

For the minor references of a certain Spider-Man now being active in New York is just too hard to pass up.

Until next time
