Matty stopped looking at his mom and turned to watch Phillip who had gone to the phone by the computer. Phillip dialed a number. "Hey it's me. I really am sorry Francine. I know we could have trusted you. That you would have helped us. Yes, I could have warned you to take the earpiece out when I put it in the garbage disposal"

"Look we have information. Alex well he prefers to be called Matty. Anyway, Lee hid him with Barnstorm. A man named Michael Winthrope was taking care of him. They were living in England. Apparently on the Hamilton estate. Yeah, Lee's grandfather's place. Crazy right?"

"It sounds like Michael Winthrope was killed and Barnstorm helped Matty get back to the USA. He was going to see Billy for help. Not to kill him. Kid just had bad timing because of all the death threats against Billy."

"Yeah, anyway. Thanks again and I really am sorry. Also, mom is not crazy. He really is my brother. Appreciate it. Talk to you later."

Phillip hung up and looked over at his mom. "Just called Francine. She is going to look into it. Did Dr Smyth torch our house yet?" "No. I think that was an empty threat. But we are probably going to be down here a while. Dr Smyth and Billy left. But the house is swarming with Agents. I'm just glad I went grocery shopping the other day. So, we at least will have a week or two of normal food before we have to break into the emergency food."

"Well, you fellas minus well go back to the game room. I'm going to call your grandma and your dad. Warn them because the Agency might try and use them to draw us out. Really think that might be their next course of action."

Phillip and Matty went to the game room. Phillip switched on the tv to ESPN as background. Then he said, "So um before we got interrupted. You were living with Lee's grandfather? He died about a year ago. Right?" Matty nodded yes.

"Mom told me about him after their honeymoon in London. Said he was not exactly a cuddly grandpa. Her exact words were that he was such a cold person that if he died and went to hell. It might actually have a chance of freezing over." Matty laughed. His great grandfather had been really good to his dad and him.

When they showed up on Jonathon Hamilton's doorstep five years ago. His father had only been expecting to stay a few minutes. His father had not expected his grandfather to be welcoming. He had just wanted to use his network to disappear instead of Barnstorm. But his grandfather was getting old, and Lee was the only family he had left. He had a change of heart towards his father after he spent a day thinking Lee was dead. Matty tapped "LONG STORY" Phillip nodded.

Their mother came out of the office and sat in between her sons on the couch. Phillip turned to her. "You get a hold of Grandma. Yes, she's excited about Alex being home. She and Leann are going to pack up today and head to your dads. I told her that nothing was going to be resolved for a couple of days. That she minus well stay until Saturday. But she wants to be closer so she can hug him and make pot roast as soon as we get out of here." Phillip smiled. "Did you call dad? Give him a heads up that he's going to have a very full house."

"Yes sweetheart. Except he wasn't home. Jaime and he left early this morning. Carrie thinks they went to his office to help prepare for our defense with the Agency." All of the sudden both his mom and Phillip stopped talking. "Someone just pulled into the driveway" they said in unison.

The three of them went back into the office. He went to sit on the love seat, but his mom pulled him on her lap. "It's your dad and Jaime. Why would he bring Jaime here? It's not safe." Matty looked at his other brother. He did not look anything like the pictures Matty had seen on the bookcase in the game room. He looked like he was a cool friendly person. He has wearing jeans and a nice shirt. No glasses and he had a goatee.

They watched them go inside. "Oh, Joe what are you doing?" his mom said to herself. But the agents in the house did not do anything. Joe walked into the kitchen. "Amanda, can you hear me?" "Yes Joe. Phillip and I both can." "Hi Dad and Doofus." Phillip said and without missing a beat Jaime responded, "Hi Mom and Worm Brain."

His mom spoke. "Joe what are you doing here? Why would you bring Jaime? It's not safe." "Look Amanda. It was a compromise so he would not go off trying on his own trying to sneak in here. Anyway, we need to talk. I am your lawyer. The agency has agreed to let me come here. I would like to come downstairs if you don't mind? Will you let Jaime and I in there with you?" Amanda sighed. "Yes. But if one agent goes down those stairs with you. I'm not buzzing you in. You also may get trapped down here with us."

Joe smiled. "I'm willing to take that risk." They watched on the cameras as they descended the stairs. "Matty, you and Phillip stay back here. The outer doors lock so nobody will be able to get to you. If this is a trick or the agency gets in and takes me. If it's safe, I'll open the door again and you two can come out. Ok?"

She looked at Phillip. "Wait until the door is closed. Then buzz them in." Phillip nodded. She closed the door to the hallway. They could not watch the first part of the exchange. But not even a minute later the door opened and his brother Jaime came in the room. Phillip and Jaime fist bumped each other.

Jaime then turned his attention to him. Matty smiled at him. Then Jaime just grabbed him and hugged him. Then Jaime let go and he was tearing up. "I'm so sorry about what happened to you. It was all my fault. If I had not of picked that fight with Phillip. You two never would have gone out to play basketball in the driveway. You would have been safe down here." Then Phillip said, "No man it was my fault. I was annoying you on purpose." Jaime wiped his tears. "Yeah, but I'm used to it. I just... I was being lame. I almost lost you too that day."

Then Jaime started signing to him. The only problem was that Matty had grown up in London. British Sign Language and American sign language were different even though they are both based on English. Matty figured he would pick it up fast though. And he just pretended to understand what Jaime was saying.

"You are not understanding a word I'm signing, are you? Well, it's been like 10 years since I've done it. And Jimmy the deaf kid moved away when I was like 13. I guess you will just have to teach me. Alex." Phillip spoke "Call him Matty."

Jaime raised his eyebrow "Matty?" Phillip nodded. "That's what he goes by now. Still answers to little dude though." Jaime smiled. "Good because I'm not going to stop calling him that." Jaime then asked, "You still like to read little dude?" Matty smiled and nodded yes. Jaime grinned. "Good, I got you some books while I was waiting for the train at Penn station. They are back at my dad's place."

Jaime looked at him." I taught you how to read you know?" "Stop bragging dingus. He taught himself how to read." "Your just jealous because I'm his favorite older brother." Phillip punched him in the arm.
Just then his mom and Phillip's dad walked in. His mom spoke "Fellas you are 26 & 24 years old. Are you two ever going to stop?"

Joe answered "Well look at your mother and Lillian. These two are tame compared to them." Then Joe who had a friendly face smiled at him. "It is nice to see you again Alex. I'm your Uncle Joe." Then he heard Phillip say, "He likes to be called Matty, dad" His dad smiled. "Well, Matty it is then. Wow he really looks like you. Amanda."

Then Uncle Joe looked at him. "When you get out of here. You'll need to meet your cousin Joey. He's going to love you." Then Joe put his hand on his shoulder. "Everyone is very happy you're home. They put a rush on the DNA results. And Phillip you are free to leave the basement if you want. You can come with Jaime & I.

Francine well she has been looking into Michael Winthrope. He is Lee's Canadian uncle except he is actually younger than Lee. Lee's grandfather had an affair with a Canadian hippie woman in the early 60s. Michael Winthrope disappeared when he was 17 without a trace. Showed up on father's doorstep 5 years ago. Teaches History at Chelsea college which is next to the Chelsea school of the deaf where Matty goes. Francine was waiting for someone at Interpol to find out the exact details of the shooting. But the agency is backing down a little. I would say you two could even venture upstairs if you wanted. But I would wait until its official."

Phillip looked at them. "I'm going to stay with Mom & Matty." Then Jaime said, "Well then I'm staying here too." Their mom responded. "Fellas I would love to have you stay here. But I think it's a good idea if you both go. Phillip you can talk to Francine. Find out if she knows more. And Jaime can you get groceries for the house tomorrow? It is going to be a full house as soon as we get the all clear. And well Phillip is going to need you as a buffer between him and Carrie."

Jaime went to Matty. "I'm really glad you are back little dude. I really missed having a brother that is not a worm brain" he hugged Matty. Then Phillip punched him in the arm again and Jaime punched Phillip back.

Then Phillip came over to Matty. "I'm going to go with them. But you take care of mom. Alright? Love you little dude." Matty tapped "I love you" on Phillips forehead. Phillip hugged him.

Then his Uncle Joe came over, "I really am glad to see you again. Look I know you don't remember me. But your dad was really good to my kids. I know you are not my son. But if you ever need anything. You come to me. Ok? The least I can do for Lee is be at least half as good to his kids as he was to mine."
