"Horrible," Naruko sat in the litter chair, and looked at the soldiers, who abused some of the townspeople.
Naruko was wearing a blue kimono, whose obi was light blue. He had white socks on his feet, and tan sandals. Her hair was braided, and a hair ornament was attached to them, which held a pale blue silk rose. Naruko held a light blue hand fan in her right hand.
The stretcher was carried by four men.
Suddenly a young man fell on the road, who had black hair, and fair skin. He looked 18 years old. She was wearing a white blouse. He was wearing black pants, and black shoes.
"Genma, stop," Naruko said, and the men carrying the litter stopped.
"What now?" Genma asked at the same time, when he, and the others lowered the litter to the ground.
"Put him in the litter. We'll take him to my house, so that Shizune-san can examine his wounds," Naruko said.
"Alright. We just saw a couple of soldiers abusing him. The previous overlord wouldn't have allowed anyone to be treated like this. Since the new overlord came to power, the soldiers have become real brutes," Genma said. He, and the other men lifted the young man onto the stretcher.
"He has bad wounds," Satoru said after seeing the man's wounds.
"True," Naruko said.
The men grabbed the handles of the litter, and started carrying the chair towards Naruko's home.
(A couple of hours later)
A couple of hours later
"Is he getting better?" Naruko asked Shizune looking at the man sleeping on the futon in the guest room, whose wounds Shizune had just bandaged with gauze after cleaning the wounds.
"Probably. Let's just let him rest now," Shizune said.
Naruko nodded, and left the room closing the room door. Naruko started walking towards her own room.
"Princess," Iruka said walking in front of Naruko.
"Is something wrong?" Naruko asked. "You only speak to me in that tone when when something is wrong".
"Thus, that you brought here a man, who was seriously injured earlier," Iruka said. "If anyone saw, that you brought him here, so he can be searched for here. We know almost nothing about him. He could even be a thief".
"Genma said he saw the soldiers abuse him. I couldn't leave him to his own devices," Naruko said.
"Undeniably, soldiers are brutes these days," Iruka said.
Naruko went to her room to prepare for Hinata's upcoming birthday party.
After getting dressed in a kimono, Naruko looked out the window to see the sun setting. Naruko took Hinata's gift, and walked out of the room:
"Prepare my chariot, for now we go to those held at the Hyuga mansion, for Hinata's birthday party".
"Yes, your majesty", Everyone said.
"Thank you," Naruko said as the others left outside the mansion.
Naruko later walked out of the mansion, and sat in the chariot, which were pulled by horses as the carriage approached the Hyuga mansion.
"Is there nothing I can do to help the townspeople?" Naruko thought.
Finally the carriage stopped in front of the Hyuga mansion, and Genma opened the door on the side of the carriage as Naruko took her hand out of the carriage to the Hyuga mansion.
Everywhere was decorative, and the party guests were dressed nicely.
"Happy birthday, Hinata," Naruko said, giving a present to Hinata, who was dressed in a light purple kimono.
"Thank you. You look great", Hinata said.
"Please, and thank you. This area changed after the new Land Lord came to power," Naruko said recalling the atrocities committed by the soldiers she had seen before.
"Tow, haven't the current Lord's actions turned this area into one, where the soldiers treat the common people badly?" Naruko asked sitting down with Hinata on the floor cushions by the Dining Table in the ballroom.
Hinata had invited her other friends to the party.
Naruko tried to act normal, but he could not hide his disgust at the actions of the current Landlord.
"Tow, what do you think of the current Lord?" Naruko whispered to Hinata holding her hand fan in front of their faces, so that no one would hear them.
"I don't approve of him. I don't want to talk about this at this time. But as it stands my father is trying to talk to the man", Hinata said.
Naruko nodded.
"The current Lord is said to be very fickle, when it comes to women. Did your father invite the current Lord to this party?" Naruko whispered to Hinata as she saw the Earthlord in question walk into the dining hall.
The lord was wearing gold and white clothes, and on his head a black headdress, and he held a hand fan in his right hand.
"I don't remember the name of the new Landlord, but I guess your father didn't invite him to this party," Naruko whispered to Hinata.
"Your right. My father was surprised to see him," Hinata said.
"Hello, ladies. Are you having fun with the party?" The landlord asked calmly, and polite
"Yes. We didn't expect you guys to come here," Naruko said trying to keep up her princess facade.
It was hard for Naruko to maintain her princess-facade, when he remembered it, that how the current Landlord ordered his soldiers to abuse the inhabitants of the city.
"I had something to discuss with your father, and it couldn't wait, and happy birthday, Hinata miss," Landlord said.
"Thank you," Hinata said.
Landlord nodded, and left.
"Whatever happened to the previous Earth Lord?" Naruko whispered to Hinata.
"That's the current mystery," Hinata said.
Naruko nodded.
After the party ended, Naruko sat in her carriage, and then returned to his home to see Iruka standing at the front door of the mansion:
"A hoe guest arrived at the party".
Naruko started walking towards her room, and then started calling the brown house on the floor, to give him something else to think about.
Iruka knocked on Naruko's bedroom door.
"In," Naruko said.
When Iruka entered the room, Naruko looked at Iruka:
"What do you want to ask?"
"How was the birthday party?" Iruka asked.
"Well until then, until the current Landlord arrived at the party," Naruko said.
Iruka looked confused:
"That does tell me, that you had fun, or not, Lady Naruko."
"Other than that, it was fun," Naruko said.
"I am glad you had fun. Do you want an investigation on the landlord?" Iruka asked.
"Yes I do. We don't know, what happened to the previous Earth Lord," Naruko said. "The current Earth Lord came to the party to talk about something with Hinata's father".
Naruko walked towards the guest room, where the man he found earlier, healed by Shizune, was still sleeping, and opened the door of that room slightly looking into the room. The man was still sleeping, so Naruko closed the door, and returned to his room:
"The man beaten by the soldiers has not woken up yet".
