Chapter One: Shopping Trip

Starling City: Danvers Household — August 2, 2007

Kara woke up to her phone buzzing, everything or anyone who ever woke up Kara always annoyed her, she groaned ignoring the person who was texting her.

Then they started calling her, she groaned once more then rising up and grabbing her phone "Winslow Schott it is 9 in the morning on a summer day what do you want?" she answered assuming it was Winn.

"Well hello to you too sunshine."

Kara's eyes widened "Lois?" she asked, Lois Lane was the girlfriend of her cousin Clark Kent, who she rarely spoke to, but she speaks to Lois more than she does Clark, Lois knew her and her cousins secret, so it sorta made her family.

"Rao," Kara muttered "I am so sorry!" she apologized quickly.

"No big worries," Lois laughed "I'm in Starling City doing a report on someone and wanted to see if my favorite kryptonian wanted to go shopping?"

"Yeah! Of course!" Kara beamed, her sleep haze disappeared at the thought of going shopping with Lois.

"Amazing! I'll swing by and come get you?" Lois said.

"Yeah," Kara smiled.

"And Alex can join if she'd like."

"Alex will be going back to college today," Kara said "but call or text when you're on your way?"

"You got it," Lois said "See you later, bye."

"Bye."

Kara got out of bed and got ready to start her day, she got dressed and did her hair and headed downstairs to see Eliza and Alex already eating.

"Wow," Alex said "Here I thought I would have to face the wrath of Kara Zor-El just to say goodbye" she joked drinking her coffee.

"Hahah," Kara laughed sarcastically, "You would have but thanks to Lois I'm awake," she told Alex as she fixed her food.

"Lois? Lois Lane?" Alex questioned "As in Clarks girlfriend?" Alex didn't really like Clark all that well, she never forgave him for just dropping Kara off with them then hardly visiting her.

"Yeah," Kara nodded "She's in town working on some article and wanted to see me, so she's taking me shopping" she sat down.

Starling City: Queen Mansion

Oliver was at the breakfast table with his mother, Moria Queen, and his younger sister, Thea Queen, he didn't question his father's absence, because he already knew the answer.

Everyone sat quietly eating their food, Oliver had they life any teenage boy would want, money, fame, popularity, good looks, and gets all the girls. But Oliver had a rough time at home, he hardly spoke to his mother even though they live in the same house, his father was always on business trips or at Queen Consolidated, but he had a great relationship with his sister Thea.

Oliver pulled out his phone, he saw texts from multiple girls he had either flirted with or slept with multiple times over summer, there was some texts from Tommy Merlyn, his best friend, and Laurel Lance, his other best friend and ex-fling.

Tommy: Laurel is dragging me to the mall, you have to come.

Tommy: We'll come get you.

Oliver: Nah, have fun though!

Tommy: Please!!

Oliver: I made plans with Thea.

Oliver: Sorry man.

Oliver chuckled at this, he knew of his best friend's feelings towards the girl, that's why he ended their little summer fling, but Laurel also wanted more from Oliver and she got mad every time he'd flirt with someone in front of her, and Oliver wasn't ready for commitment so he ended things with her.

Then he saw a text from the previous day, Kara Danvers, she hadn't texted him anything else besides, the quick 'Hi' she sent him to make sure he had gotten her number. He clicked on her contacts, he had a different name for her in his phone unlike the rest, people he was close to had their full names or nicknames he'll call them, or girls he'll hook up with it'll be just the first letter of their first name because he'll usually forget, Kara's name was different.

Oliver: Hi.

Three dots popped up on his screen, then they disappeared, a girl had never made Oliver nervous, no one could do that, he didn't even get nervous when ever he got in trouble, but for some reason this made him nervous.

*

"This is not happening," Kara said to herself, she was pacing her room, staring at her phone, she had received a text from Oliver Queen, just a few moments ago, she hadn't saved his number yet but she recognized it.

She eventually stopped pacing and picked up her phone again, getting ready to reply with something, but she stopped and turned her phone off, she wasn't trying to blow the man off or anything, she was nervous to type something back.

She just stared at it before picking it up again and clicking on the contact, she updated it from his number to an emoji, she did this with most people who she thought Alex or Clark wouldn't approve of, Clark hardly visited, yes, but he still got up in her business with relationships.

After changing the contacts, she texted him back.

Kara: Hi.

*

Oliver was sitting the the living area, listening Thea giving options on what they could do today, he felt his phone buzz in his pocket, he pulled it out and saw it was Kara, and smiled slightly.

Kara: Hi.

He couldn't believe this was happening.

Oliver: What are you up to today?

Kara: Going shopping.

Kara: You?

Oliver: Hanging out with my younger sister.

Kara: Sounds fun.

Oliver: Yeah.

Oliver didn't know why but he couldn't stop smiling at his phone as he and Kara continued their conversation.

"Hey!" Thea cleared her throat forcing her older brother to look up at her "If your going to be sexting or flirting with one of the many girls on your phone, you can just go to your room and I'll hang out with my friends!"

"I'm sorry, Speedy," Oliver chuckled "I was just texting Tommy," he told her putting his phone up, "What if we go shopping?"

"I literally just gave you the option! You said no!" Thea shouted at him.

"Hey do you want to go shopping or not?" Oliver stood off his couch, Thea just silently

stomped away and up to her room "I'll meet you the car" she told him in a loud voice on the way upstairs.

Starling Mall

Kara had said goodbye to Alex, she was leaving as Lois was pulling up the house, after Alex left, Lois and Kara left, they told Eliza that she could come but she politely turned them down.

The two were now in a Macey's one of the many stores in the huge mall, the few stores they had visited before going to the store their in now, Kara had gotten some school clothes and Lois had gotten some new outfits along with some underclothes that she could on Clark.

Kara was checking out some clothes when Lois' phone had rang "It's your cousin I'll be right back," Lois told Kara who nodded "Tell him I said hi" Kara told her.

Lois nodded walking off answering the phone "Hey babe."

Kara continued to look at some clothes, they all had to be appropriate for school, it wasn't like she was going to any parties anyways so, she just stuck to shopping for school and weekend clothes.

She started to pick out some clothes when she felt someone behind her, "That would like beautiful on you," he told her.

Kara blushed as she knew that voice anywhere, it was Oliver, she turned around confirming she was right.

"Uh...thanks..." she giggled nervously, "Wh...What are you doing here?"

"I told you I was hanging out with my sister," he chuckled stepping back giving her some space "she wanted to go shopping, and so I took her" he smiled.

"Not every brother would take his sister shopping," Kara told him a small smile on his face.

"Yeah, but I love my little sister more than anything," he told her he could hear Thea scoff from behind him.

"Hi, I'm Thea Queen," she stepped between Oliver and Kara "The little sister he loves so much" she said sarcastically and Kara laughed lightly.

"I'm Kara Danvers," she told Thea.

"So you were the fling my brother was sexting earlier?" Thea said raising an eyebrow "He claims he was texting Tommy but I don't believe him" Thea shrugged.

"Speedy!" Oliver exclaimed as Kara blushed.

"We...uh...we're just friends," Kara stuttered, trying to regain her words "and we weren't...sexting" she blushed harder.

"Right," Thea nodded then turned to Oliver "I like her, she's a keeper."

"Thea!"

Thea only laughed shrugging and walked away to continue looking into the store. "Your sister's...precious" Kara told Oliver.

"Yeah, very precious," Oliver said "So are you doing anything tonight?" he asked.

"Not that I'm aware of," Kara told him, she spotted Lois watching as she still spoke to Clark on the phone.

"Would you like to go on a date with me?"

Kara froze, nervous chuckle escaped her lips, "You were serious about that?" she asked and Oliver nodded "Why wouldn't I be?"

"Well normally when a guy asks me out they either want my body, or they don't mean it and stand me up..." Kara said staring at Oliver.

"Well I would be dumb to stand you up," Oliver smiled at her.

"I..." Kara was cut off by Laurel clearing her throat.

"Dude! You left me with Laurel just to ask her on a date! At the mall!?" Tommy asked "You didn't have to lie about hanging out with Thea" Laurel told Oliver glaring at him.

"What?" Kara asked shocked.

"No..." Oliver shook his head "I am hanging out Thea, she wanted to go shopping so I took her shopping!" Oliver pointed over to his sister who was looking at perfume, "I didn't know Kara was gonna be at this mall," he added.

*

Lois watched Kara interact with Oliver and his younger sister, as she was still on the phone with Clark.

"Lois? Lois!?"

"Yeah?" Lois got back to the conversation she was having with her boyfriend.

"What's going on?" Clark asked "You just completely went quiet" he told her.

"Sorry I was just watching Kara and a guy," Lois told him, then she mentally cursed herself for saying that, at least she didn't mention who he is.

"What? Who is he?"

"Uh...I can't tell," Lois lied, watching as more people joined, "I'll call you back babe," she hanged up

Kara just watched this interaction with Oliver and his best friends, "Look guys," she looked past them watching Lois as she got off the phone "I have to go, my cousins girlfriend is here with me and she just got off the phone with him so I should go pay for these" she said.

"Wait," Oliver stopped her "Will you go out with me?"

"I'll think about" she said giving him a smile before walking off.

After paying Kara walked outside to meet Lois who was waiting for her "Got everything you need?" Lois asked a smile on her face.

Kara rolled her eyes, knowing the smirk on Lois' face "Don't say anything" she told the woman
